Inelastic longitudinal electron scattering form factors for second
excited state C42 in 42Ti nucleus have been calculated using shell
model theory. Fp shell model space with configuration (1f7/2 2p3/2
1f5/2 2p1/2) has been adopted in order to distribute the valence
particles (protons and neutrons) outside an inert core 40Ca. Modern
model space effective interactions like FPD6 and GXPF1 have been
used to generate model space vectors and harmonic oscillator wave
function as a single particle wave function. Discarder space (core
orbits + higher orbits) has been included in (core polarization effect)
as a first order correction in microscopic theory to measure the
interested multipole form factors via the model space.
Gogny and Michigan sum of three-range Yukawa
potential (M3Y-p2) have been utilized as a residual interaction to
couple the (particle-hole) pair across the model space active particles
and the excitation energy of the pair is (2ħω) and four options for the
used effective and residual interactions were determined for the
transitions from (+0) to (+01,2,3), (+21,2,3) and (+41,2,3).

Inelastic transverse magnetic dipole electron scattering form
factors in 48Ca have been investigated through nuclear shell model
in an excited state energy Ex= 10.23 MeV which is so called
"mystery case" with different optional choices like effective
interaction, restricted occupation and core polarization interaction.
40Ca as an inert core will be adopted and four orbits with eight
particles distributed mainly in 2p1f model space and in some extend
restricted to make sure about the major accuse about this type of
transition. Theoretical results have been constituted mainly with
experimental data and compared with some important theoretical
results of the same transition.

In this work we reported the synchronization delay in
semiconductor laser (SL) networks. The unidirectional
configurations between successive oscillators and the correlation
between them are achieved. The coupling strength is a control
parameter so when we increase coupling strength the dynamic of the
system has been change. In addition the time required to synchronize
network components (delay of synchronization) has been studied as
well. The synchronization delay has been increased by mean of
increasing the number of oscillators. Finally, explanation of the time
required to synchronize oscillators in the network at different
coupling strengths.

In this study, the activity concentrations of indoor radon, thoron
and their progeny have been measured in air for 61 different
locations of Al-Maddan city using twin cup dosimeter. Furthermore,
some useful parameters concerning the health hazards have been
estimated; working level month (WLM), annual effective dose (Eff),
and excess lung cancer per million person per year (ELC).The results
show that the values of radon gas levels in the investigated districts
varied from 56.28 to 194.43Bq/m3with an overall average value
132.96Bq/m3, while 0.313 to 1.085 for WLM with an overall average
0.740, respectively. The value of Eff and ELC have been found to
vary from 1.420 to 4.918 mSv/y with an overall average value
3.354mSv/y, and 852 to 2951 with an overall average value 2013,
respectively. For thoron gas only, the results showed that the thoron
activity concentration varied from 15.05 to 172.40 Bq/m3 with an
overall average 76.48 Bq/m3, and 0.021to 0.240for WLM with an
overall average 0.106, respectively. The values of Eff and ELC have
been found to vary from 0.256 to 2.94 mSv/y with an overall
average1.30 mSv/y and from 57 to 652 with an overall average of
298, respectively. The concentration of radon progeny varied from
59.44 to 301.39 Bq/m3 with an overall average 157.62 Bq/m3. The
results illustrated that there is a large variation in the values of the
measured concentrations. This is due to the wide variation in the
construction of the houses in Al-Madaan city. However, all
investigated locations have radon concentration below the action
level (200-300Bq/m3) that recommended byICRP. Therefore, there is
no health hazard of radon in the region of Al-Madaan city where
measurements have been performed.

In the present study twenty samples of human urine were taken
from healthy male and female with different of: ages, occupation and
place of residence. These samples were collected from the hospital to
measure the concentration of radon gas in human urine by using one
of solid state nuclear track detectors LR-115.
The results obtained of the concentrations of radon in healthy human
urine are varying from 2.12×10-3 Bq.l-1 to 4.42×10-3 Bq.l-1 and
these values are less than the allowed limits 12.3×10-3 Bq.l-1.

The nuclear charge density distributions, form factors and
corresponding proton, charge, neutron, and matter root mean square
radii for stable 4He, 12C, and 16O nuclei have been calculated using
single-particle radial wave functions of Woods-Saxon potential and
harmonic-oscillator potential for comparison. The calculations for the
ground charge density distributions using the Woods-Saxon potential
show good agreement with experimental data for 4He nucleus while
the results for 12C and 16O nuclei are better in harmonic-oscillator
potential. The calculated elastic charge form factors in Woods-Saxon
potential are better than the results of harmonic-oscillator potential.
Finally, the calculated root mean square radii usingWoods-Saxon
potentials how overestimation in comparison with experimental data
on contrary to the results of harmonic-oscillator potential.

In this paper, the generation of a chaotic carrier by Lorenz model
is theoretically studied. The encoding techniques has been used is
chaos masking of sinusoidal signal (massage), an optical chaotic
communications system for different receiver configurations is
evaluated. It is proved that chaotic carriers allow the successful
encoding and decoding of messages. Focusing on the effect of
changing the initial conditions of the states of our dynamical system
e.i changing the values (x, y, z, x1, y1, and z1).

A.C electrical conductivity and dielectric properties for poly
(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) /poly (ethylene oxide) (PEO) blends undoped
and doped with multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNTs) with
different concentrations (1, and 3 wt %) in the frequency range
(25x103 - 5x106 Hz) were investigated. Samples of (PVA/PEO)
blends undoped and doped with MWCNTs were prepared using
casting technique. The electrical conductivity measurements showed
that σA.C is frequency dependent and obey the relation σA.C =Aωs for
undoped and doped blends with 1% MWCNTs, while it is frequency
independent with increases of MWCNTs content to 3%. The
exponent s showed proceeding increase with the increase of PEO
ratio (≥50%) for undoped blends samples, while s value for doped
blends exhibits to change in different manner, i.e. s increases and
reach maximum value at 50/50 PVA/PEO, then decreases for
residual doped blends samples with 1% MWCNTs on the other hand
the exponent s decrease and reach minimum value at 50/50
PVA/PEO for samples doped with 3% MWCNTs, then return to
increase. The results explained in different terms.

Nano-structural of vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) thin films were
deposited by chemical spray pyrolysis technique (CSPT). Nd and Ce
doped vanadium oxide films were prepared, adding Neodymium
chloride (NdCl3) and ceric sulfate (Ce(SO4)2) of 3% in separate
solution. These precursor solutions were used to deposit un-doped
V2O5 and doped with Nd and Ce films on the p-type Si (111) and
glass substrate at 250°C. The structural, optical and electrical
properties were investigated. The X-ray diffraction study revealed a
polycrystalline nature of the orthorhombic structure with the
preferred orientation of (010) with nano-grains. Atomic force
microscopy (AFM) was used to characterize the morphology of the
films. Un-doped V2O5 and doped with 3% concentration of Nd and
Ce films have direct allowed transition band gap. The mechanisms of
dc-conductivity of un-doped V2O5 and doped with Nd and Ce films
at the range 303 K to 473 K have been discussed.

Photonic Crystal Fiber Interferometers (PCFIs) are greatly used
for sensing applications. This work presents the fabrication and
characterization of a relative humidity sensor based on Mach-
Zehnder Interferometer (MZI), which operates in reflection mode.
The humidity sensor operation based on the adsorption and
desorption of water vapour at the silica-air interface within the PCF.
The fabrication of this sensor is simple, it only includes splicing and
cleaving the PCF with SMF.PCF (LMA-10) with a certain length
spliced to SMF (Corning-28).
The spectrum of PCFI exhibits good sensitivity to humidity
variations. The PCFI response is observed for a range of humidity
values from (27% RH to 85% RH), the position of the interference
peaks is found to be shifted to longer wavelength with humidity
increasing. In this work, a different length of PCFs are used, and the
maximum humidity sensitivity of (5.86 pm / %RH) is achieved with
(4.5cm) PCF length, and the rise time of (8sec) is achieved. This
humidity sensor has distinguished features as that it does not require
the use of a hygroscopic material, robust, compact size, immunity to
electromagnetic interference, and it has potential applications for
high humidity environments.

The gamma dose rates and specific activity of 137Cs, 60Co and 40K in
samples of soil taken from places near the landfill radiation at Al-
Tuwaitha site were measured using a portable NaI(Tl) detector. The
results of gamma dose rates in samples were ranged from 52.6
nGy.h-1 to 131nGy.h-1. Then the specific activity of 137Cs, 60Co and
40K in soil were determined using high pure germanium (HPGe)
detector. The specific activities were varied from 1.9 to 115500 Bq.
kg-1 for 137Cs, from 6.37 to 616.5 Bq. kg-1 for 60Co, and from 3 to
839.5 Bq. kg-1 for 40K. The corresponding health risk for the annual
effective dose equivalent varied from 1.85×10-14 to 15.7mSv/y. The
results were compared with various international recommendations.

The nanocomposite on the base of synthesis Copper iodide
nanoparticles and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA/CuI) with different
concentration of CuI were obtained using casting technique.
PVA/CuI polymer composite samples have been prepared and
subjected to characterizations using FTIR spectroscopy, The FTIR
spectral analysis shows remarkable variation of the absorption peak
positions with increasing CuI concentration. The obtained results by
X-ray diffraction indicated the formation of cubic CuI particles. The
effects of CuI concentrations on the optical properties of the PVA
films were studied in the region of wavelength, (190-1100) nm.
From the derivation of Tauc's relation it was found that the direct
allowed transitions was more probable in PVA/ CuI nanocomposite.
The results indicate that the obtained values of optical absorption
edge, and energies band gap decreases from 4.05 to3.89 eV for direct
transitions with the increasing salt contents.

The size and the concentration of the gold nanoparticles (GNPs)
synthesized in double distilled deionized water (DDDW) have been
found to be affected by the laser energy and the number of pulses.
The absorption spectra of the nanoparticles DDDW, and the
surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peaks were measured, and found to
be located between (509 and 524)nm using the UV- Vis
spectrophotometer. SPR calculations, images of transmission
electron microscope, and dynamic light scattering (DLS) method
were used to determine the size of GNPs, which found to be ranged
between (3.5 and 27) nm. The concentrations of GNPs in colloidal
solutions found to be ranged between (37 and 142) ppm, and
measured by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS).

Copper tin sulfide (Cu2SnS3) thin films have been grown on glass
substrate with different thicknesses (500, 750 and 1000) nm by flash
thermal evaporation method after prepare its alloy from their
elements with high purity. The as-deposited films were annealed at
473 K for 1h. Compositional analysis was done using Energy
dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The microstructure of CTS powder
examined by SEM and found that the large crystal grains are shown
clearly in images. XRD investigation revealed that the alloy was
polycrystalline nature and has cubic structure with preferred
orientation along (111) plane, while as deposited films of different
thickness have amorphous structure and converted to polycrystalline
with annealing temperature for high thickness. AFM measurements
showed that the grain size of the films was increasing by annealing.
The ultraviolet- visible absorption spectrum measurement indicated
that the films have a direct energy band gap. Eg decrease with
thickness and increase with annealing.

Effective charges of electric quadrupole moments are calculated for sd and cross sd-pf shell isotopes with Z≥ 13. Perturbation theory of one-particle one hole with 2԰ω excitation is employed. Shell-model in the sd valence space is used for neutron number N ≤20. For neutron rich nuclei with N> 20, sdpf valence space is used with full sd shell (Z-8) protons and full pf shell (N-20) neutrons. Good agreement is obtained with the measured data for most of the isotopes considered in this work while it deteriorates for some of them and need further investigation.

In this work, nickel oxide thin films have been successfully deposited on glass substrates by sputtering technique at different temperatures, and explored as a fast response sensor to hydrogen reducing gas. The nickel oxide sensor exhibits an increase of the conductance upon exposure to hydrogen gas of various concentrations at different operating temperatures. Pure sputtered NiO sample showed excellent sensitivity S of 1488% to hydrogen gas at the optimum H2: air concentration of 3.75%. The variation of the operating temperature of the film has led to a significant change in the sensitivity of the sensor with an ideal operating temperature of about 275Ԩ after which it began to saturate with increasing temperature and test was terminated. The variation of NiO sensor sample with H2: air gas ratio concentration showed linear relationship up to 3% after which saturation of S occurred.

Structure of unstable 21,23,25,26F nuclei have been investigated
using Hartree – Fock (HF) and shell model calculations. The ground
state proton, neutron and matter density distributions, root mean
square (rms) radii and neutron skin thickness of these isotopes are
studied. Shell model calculations are performed using SDBA
interaction. In HF method the selected effective nuclear interactions,
namely the Skyrme parameterizations SLy4, Skeσ, SkBsk9 and
Skxs25 are used. Also, the elastic electron scattering form factors of
these isotopes are studied. The calculated form factors in HF
calculations show many diffraction minima in contrary to shell
model, which predicts less diffraction minima. The long tail
behaviour in nuclear density is noticeable seen in HF more than shell
model calculations. The deviation occurs between shell model and
HF results are attributed to the sensitivity of charge form factors to
the change of the tail part of the charge density. Calculations done
for the rms radii in shell model showed excellent agreement with
experimental values, while HF results showed an overestimation in
the calculated rms radii for 21,23F and good agreement for 25,26F. In
general, it is found that the shell model and HF results have the same
behaviour when the mass number (A) increase.

The optical properties of Geଶ଴Bi୶Se଼଴ି୶ thin filmat xൌ0,0.2 and 0.6 deposited on glass substrate with thickness of (205േ50 nm ) was prepared using thermal evaporation technique. X-ray diffraction has been study and show amorphous crystalline for the films prepared with different concentration of Bismuth and annealed at temperatures 373 K and 473 K at one hour. A study of the absorption spectrum in the wavelengths (300-900) nm has been used to calculated the optical energy ሺEg୭୮୲ሻ of the samples. The results show a decrease in the value of the optical energy with increase in Bismuth concentration in the sample, while increase (1.5-2)eV with increase of the temperature of annealing from 373 K to 473 K.

An effective two-body density operator for point nucleon system
folded with the tenser force correlations( TC's), is produced and used
to derive an explicit form for ground state two-body charge density
distributions (2BCDD's) applicable for 25Mg, 27Al and 29Si nuclei. It is
found that the inclusion of the two-body TC's has the feature of
increasing the central part of the 2BCDD's significantly and reducing
the tail part of them slightly, i.e. it tends to increase the probability of
transferring the protons from the surface of the nucleus towards its
centeral region and consequently makes the nucleus to be more rigid
than the case when there is no TC's and also leads to decrease the
1/ 2
r 2 of the nucleus. It is also found that the effect of the TC's and the
effect of increasing the values of  on the 2BCDD's, elastic
electron scattering form factors and r2 1/ 2 are in the same direction
for all considered nuclei.

The specific activities of the natural radionuclides U-238 and Th-
232 and K-40 in 14 soil samples collected from different sites from
AL-Mustansiriyah university at two depths (topsoil "surface" and
20cm depth) were be investigated using gamma ray spectrometer
3"x3" NaI(Tl) scintillation detector.
The analysis of the energy spectra of the soil samples show that
these samples have specific activities ranging with (16.08-51.11)
Bq/kg for U-238, (14.79-52.29) Bq/kg for Th-232 and (191.08-
377.64) Bq/kg for K-40, with an average values of 29.37, 34.14 and
289.62 Bq/kg for U-238, Th-232, k-40 respectively. The radiation
hazard parameters of the natural radionuclides; radium equivalent
activity (Raeq), gamma absorbed dose rate (Dγ), annual effective dose
rate (Eγ), internal and external hazard index (Hin, Hex) have also been
calculated. The maximum value of specific activities and hazard
parameters was found in the sample of the soil gathered from the
Literature college center. All the calculated specific activates values
were be in the ranges of worldwide averages, and below than the
global permissible limits, this would indicate that the soils of the
University is safety for both students and staff.
