Abstract
The aim of the current research is to find out the effect of using the probing, encouraging
and transformation questioning method on the fifth primary grade female pupils’ achievement
in Social Sciences in the city of Karbala.
To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher proposed a null hypothesis that here is
no statistically significant difference at the significance level (05.0) between the mean of the
students’ achievement scores of the first experimental group that was taught social sciences by
using the probing and encouraging questions and the second group that was taught by using
the probing and transformation questions. The researcher has chosen the experimental design
of partial control in Al-Marqadain Al-Sharifain School for Girls in the holy city of Karbala as
an intent sample of (75) female pupils; (37) pupils for the first experimental group and (38) for
the second experimental group.
The data that was treated statistically by using the t-test for two independent samples showed
that there is a statistically significant difference at the level of significance of (05.0) between the
achievements of the two groups.
The researcher recommends the necessity of organizing training courses for teachers on the
probing questions and their application in the teaching of social sciences, and she also suggests
conducting similar studies in other stages
