Ensuring the security of multimedia information, such as images, is essential due to the rapid development of information technology, so various image encryption algorithms have been proposed to ensure privacy and prevent improper behaviour. This paper presents a proposed model called Multi-Layer Encryption Net (MLE-Net) to encrypt the image based on using a multi-layer net to code the image and modify the Blum-Blum-Shub pseudo-random number generator to generate the keys used in the encryption process. The proposed method is organized into two stages: the first stage is plain-image data pre-processing, and the second stage divides the used image into blocks to be input for a multi-layer encryption network. The proposed method uses secure keys generated by the Modified Blum-Blum-Shub (MBBS) random number generator to improve its accuracy, reduce the complexity, and modify its control parameters to maintain data privacy efficiently and accurately. The outcomes show that the suggested approach successfully provides secure information delivery.

Background: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the rapid development of vaccines targeting the SARS-CoV-2 virus has been pivotal. These vaccines work by triggering antibody production to neutralize the virus. This study evaluates the efficacy of available COVID-19 vaccines in Iraq, contributing to public health knowledge in the region.

Methods: A cross-sectional analysis was performed using 1,233 Iraqi participants vaccinated with one of the available vaccines in Iraq, including Pfizer, AstraZeneca, or Sinopharm, and exposed to COVID-19 infection after their immunization. Most clinical evaluations were conducted with all participants.

Results: The study found that Pfizer vaccine recipients predominantly experienced mild COVID-19 symptoms, with fewer cases of moderate or severe symptoms. Those vaccinated with AstraZeneca mainly reported mild to moderate symptoms, with fewer severe or asymptomatic cases. Sinopharm recipients generally showed no symptom frequencies, followed by mild and moderate cases with rare severe symptoms. In contrast, unvaccinated individuals primarily exhibited moderate to severe symptoms, with fewer mild or asymptomatic cases.

Conclusions: The study suggests that COVID-19 vaccines are more effective at preventing severe disease outcomes, such as hospitalization and death, than mild or asymptomatic infections. In Iraq, Sinopharm and Pfizer vaccines were observed to be more effective in reducing severe COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations compared to the AstraZeneca vaccine and unvaccinated individuals.

IoT has recently attracted the interest of engineering, educators, and governmental units from various enterprises. IoT poses additional risks, including flexibility, big data analytics, security, availability, connectivity, performance, and mobility. This study will concentrate on providing the most optimal routing amongst various network environments, including wired, wireless, and IoT sensors. The main challenges involved in designing a routing protocol, as well as the difficulties involved in the design of a routing protocol, are described in this book. The many classifications of routing protocols are also reviewed. The constraints of dynamic topology, node mobility, scalability, and restrictive bandwidth are the most frequent difficulties faced by the Internet of Things. The review covers a variety of routing protocols, including reactive, multipath, location-aware, hybrid multicast, Geo-cast, and power-aware protocols. The most popular routing protocols have been carefully studied, and discussions of routing techniques and analyses of the strengths and weaknesses of the existing research field are included. The analysis of current routing protocols is conducted based on the shortest path for the least transmission time. Finally, the research community and academic community examine the difficulties in routing that need to be addressed.

The importance of using and investing in renewable energy (green energy or clean energy) as alternative energy or supplement to non-renewable energy, such as fossil fuel, is accelerating at present. Renewable energy is considered one of the main axes towards the transition to a sustainable energy system, confronting the growing global demand for energy and filling the economic crisis in addition to the prominent role in preserving the environment, reducing harmful emissions, and adapting to the effects of climate change. The wide spread of renewable energy applications also resulted in a noticeable decrease in the cost of electrical energy produced, especially from the two energy sources (solar and wind energy, while Its use in the areas of heat production, heating) or in the transportation sector is still much less. In this research, the issue of renewable energy was reviewed in Iraq, which is considered one of the countries that deal with alternative energy sources timidly despite the availability of sources such as sun, wind and water, illustrating the importance of investing in renewable energy in Iraqas Iraq needs a specific and clear strategy to deal with energy and to set goals and plans to achieve maximum benefit from it and invest it optimally, also determine the main challenges that affecting renewable energy sources. We also review the alternative energy sources available in Iraq to find out whether it is feasible to rely on them entirely or if there is a need to rely on non-renewable fuels at the same time to meet Iraq’s needs in various areas of production for energy. Additionally, this research focuses on the prospects of different renewable resources and energy in Iraq to enhance its economic recovery, whether in the production or consumption sectors.

In this work, we focused on studying 1,4-naphthoquinones and their derivatives, and knowing the methods of preparing them using different auxiliary agents and forming derivatives containing heterocyclic rings, active groups and saturated rings containing heterogeneous elements . In addition, due to their strong antibacterial, antifungal and anticancer activity, 1,4-naphthoquinone compounds biological importance and are considered a source of various pharmaceutical compounds.

Healthcare facilities in the modern day are a significant problem, particularly in developing nations where distant locations are hampered by a scarcity of high-quality hospitals and medical professionals. As artificial intelligence has revolutionized several fields of life, it has also had a positive impact on health. The existing architecture is facing several issues for the conventional telemedicine store-and-forward method. These include the requirement for a local health centre with dedicated staff, the need for medical equipment to prepare patient reports, the time constraint of 24–48 hours in receiving diagnosis and medication details from a medical expert in the main hospital, the cost of local health centres, and the requirement for a Wi-Fi connection, among others. Medical gadgets equipped with wireless communication capabilities allow for remote monitoring and are becoming more linked to one another and the Internet. Internet of Intelligent Things-enabled Medical and connected medical devices, also known as IoMT, have allowed continuous real-time patient monitoring, improved diagnostic accuracy, and more effective therapy than ever before. Although these devices have various advantages, they also create new attack surfaces, resulting in an increased number of security and privacy risks, which must be addressed. Attacks against medical equipment that are linked to the Internet have the potential to inflict significant bodily injury and even death on the patients who are targeted. In this study, we examine the strategies that may be used to provide advice on how to safeguard a network of connected medical devices.

The integration of AI in climate change modelling has become increasingly prevalent, demonstrating its capacity to advance our understanding of environmental challenges. Concurrently, efforts to optimize the integration of renewable energy sources into power grids using AI algorithms continue to gain traction, with a focus on improving energy forecasting, distribution, and management. Sustainable data centre design remains a pivotal area of exploration, with innovations aimed at maximizing energy efficiency, incorporating renewable energy sources, and implementing resource-efficient hardware. The study also highlights the growing importance of ethical considerations in Green AI, addressing issues related to fairness, transparency, and environmental justice to ensure responsible development and deployment. Lastly, the anticipation of policies and regulations surrounding Green AI underscores the increasing global focus on accountability and environmental responsibility. This comprehensive exploration of Green AI trends not only reflects the current state of the field but also provides insights into the future of sustainable technology, where AI and environmental consciousness coalesce to shape a more eco-friendly and responsible future.

This article discusses three types of manufactured polymers: Delrin, nylon, and polyester. Polymers are the product of various forms of raw plastics found in nature, whereas plastics are the names given to chemically human-made polymers. Polymer substances consist of a single unit called a monomer, which binds to millions of other similar molecules to form long chains. The length of these chains, the number of branches, and how closely they relate to each other determine the physical properties of the final plastic Polymers and their privileged position in chemistry due to their chemical and physical properties. The strength of the polymer depends on the number of monomers along the chain, side groups, cross-links and branches. If the polymers consist of only one type of monomer, it is called a homopolymer, and if there is more than one monomer in the polymer series, it is called a copolymer. Increasing the length of the chain polymers leads to a high degree of colour acceptance, describing the existence of polymers with different colours. Many chemical names of polymers were used, such as plastics, and became familiar to consumers.

Following the recommendations of the Nursing School Accreditation Standards Workshop conducted in Baghdad in February 2023 with the full support of the National Accreditation Council for Nursing Schools (ACANC), we conducted this study with the aim of identifying linkages and gaps of ties between the existing nursing program in the Madenat Alelem university college compared to the approved national standards for accrediting nursing colleges in Iraq.

Social media is one of the most significant achievements of contemporary technology, perhaps the most powerful because of its close connection with the so-called information or digital revolution. It is not limited to individual and personal use. Still, public and private companies use it to communicate with customers and interact with them by exchanging ideas, information, advertisements, and applying for employment by providing job opportunities. Technical skills, professional experience, and academic achievement are required to obtain a job. Statistics indicate that there are more than four billion Internet users around the world.

Therefore, the research focuses on evaluating the critical means of social communication used and looks forward to their potential and ability to provide job opportunities and reduce unemployment, whether in government institutions (public or private sector).

The current situation of poverty in Iraq is one of the most critical ones in recent years due to the security and economic conditions in the country, which witnessed an increase and a significant negative impact on the living conditions of the poor, which led to an increase in unemployment and disadvantage.

Therefore, the concerned authorities must put in place effective policies to deal with this crisis, mitigate its consequences, and address the difficult economic conditions experienced by these groups, especially the most vulnerable groups, such as women, children, and the elderly. Consequently, economic policies and action plans have been put in place to remedy this crisis, including the adoption of policies for granting loans to finance the establishment of small and tiny economic projects for the purpose of establishing projects that provide job opportunities through the establishment of loan funds that included various groups.

The current research aims to evaluate common stocks and form their optimal portfolio using the pricing of capital assets to identify the level of improvement in the investment portfolio formed according to traditional methods in order to assist in making investment decisions in the Iraqi market for securities. The research sample and the research community included all sectors in the Iraqi market for securities, and the research sample consisted of (22) companies that met the search conditions for the period (2016-2020).

The research concluded that the analysis of the market value of the shares of the research sample resulted from a clear fluctuation in these values ​​as a result of the continuous changes in stock prices and all the companies of the research sample were also characterized by high risks, and this was reflected by the beta coefficient of the stock, which appeared to be higher than the market risks, and this reflects the degree of sensitivity The high returns of the shares of all companies in the direction of the change in the market return, and this shows the reason for the high volatility of the returns of the shares of companies, and then the high risk, and therefore these shares are described as risky shares. From the analysis of the real value of the shares of the companies, the research sample according to the cash flow model, the pricing discrepancy for the prices of companies’ shares, as All companies were far from the true value, and this reflects the science of the ability of this model to explain stock prices.
