There are many idiomatic expressions which constitute major problems for foreign learners of English. Phraseology as a general concept and particularly phrasal verbs are one of these idiomatic expressions. It is undeniable that EFL learners may find it difficult to understand and use idiomatic phraseology and this leads them to avoid using these expressions. The research aims at knowing to which extent Iraqi EFL students can recognize and produce idiomatic phraseology as a problem for EFL learners and to know how English idiomatic phraseology pass along a continuum of complexity through the college grades. It is argued that there will be some statistical differences among the students of the four grades of English department at College of Education for Women at Tikrit University. 100 students are chosen to be the sample of the research. The research is grounded into two main parts. The first, presents a theoretical background of idioms and phrasal verbs tackling some definitions, types, characterizations and features of idioms and phrasal verbs and the interference between the two concepts. Part two deals with the procedures of the research. The Conclusions indicate that language development is not necessarily a smooth continuous process that takes place all the time. Finally, some conclusions, findings, and suggestions are provided.

The crucial aim of this paper is to unveil the common English syntactic and pronunciation errors made by trainee simultaneous interpreters. Knowing these common errors will help interpreting instructors focus on these two linguistic aspects while teaching simultaneous interpreting. In addition, recognising these repetitive errors will give trainee interpreters a clear and focused picture of the errors that they can avoid during their interpreting assignment. A focus on general interpreting is discussed, as well as the main and repetitive syntactic and pronunciation- related errors. Data from 96 trainee interpreters were analysed using the Triangular Model of Interpreting. Study findings showed that grammatical errors were most common and took many forms, such as incorrect pronouns, verb-related errors, to+ infinitive, incorrect use of adjectives, and redundancy of subject and subject-verb order. Pronunciation problems ranked second and included hesitation, mispronunciation, and spoonerism. In addition, it was observed that the number of mistakes made by trainee interpreters depends on their English proficiency, and the direct effect of their mother language.

His play, Celebration, deals with the big problem that is found even in our society, i.e., the feeling of carelessness of politicians towards their people and their suffering and problems. It consists of an abstract, an introduction, one section, and a conclusion that shows the findings of the research.

The paper tries to study the Linguistic phenomenon of intertextuality in general and in press discourse in special . In this study we try to show the nature of the term and the reason behind the wide interest in it . The study begins with a simple introduction as a preliminary for the subject . Some definitions and ideas of different authors to show the nature of the term are introduced .The types and dimensions of intertextuality are also mentioned . The work introduces the analysis of certain press samples according to an ecletic model to end with the conclusions then the bibliography.

This paper investigates the role of women and their right in Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House (1879). Ibsen, one of the world's greatest dramatists, is considered as the father of modern drama, and as one of the great supporters of women. He never calls himself a feminist, and he is more a humanist. There are indeed plenty of feminist tendencies in his plays, based on Simone de Beauvoir’s System of marriage, stressing on individuality of women and fighting for their freedom, in addition protesting to all restrictions in society. Under the impact of Ibsen's ideology, individuality and humanity are the most important social issues which are developed in his works. All social instructions and conventions are the enemy of every individual because they restrict the characters' personal identity and their freedom. In particular, Ibsen expands this outlook on the women's position whose individual and freedom are taken by masculine society . Ibsen protests against the position of women in a masculine society which is unfair and under the hegemony of male – dominated powers.

That anger became a symbol of the rebellion against the political and social malaise of British culture. His anger is destructive to those around him and the psychological violence of the play received a great deal of criticism. Critics today agree, however, that the play is central to an understanding of British life in the twentieth century and, thus, a crucial piece of literature in the British canon.
