Abstract
The issue of the Russian-Ukrainian war and its repercussions is one of the main issues that have been highlighted in a number of Iraqi satellite channels. The war from 24/2 to 24/3-2022.
The researcher reached a set of results, including:
1. Al-Sharqiya channel focused on covering the Russian-Ukrainian war more extensively than Al-Furat TV, where the total news related to the war was 33% of the total news during the research period, while the focus of Al-Furat channel was less than Al-Sharqiya, where the percentage of news related to the war was 17%.
2. The coverage of the two channels was not balanced, but each channel covered the war from its point of view. Al Sharqiya channel approaches the Ukrainian point of view by accusing Russia of making the bulk of the outbreak of the war and considering it outside the contexts of international law, while Al Furat Newsletter came close to presenting the viewpoint close to the official opinion. Russia, represented by the Western threat to Russian interests in Ukraine and its attempt to include it in NATO.
