Abstract
One of the important aspects studied by geomorphology is
the evaluation of the environmental appearance of human settlements
and the identification of their suitability to secure a fertile ground for
the settlement of these human groups by providing a suitable environment
for living, especially in dry and sensitive environments that suffer from
the phenomenon of drought .
In order to address these risks, it has become necessary to pay
attention to limiting these environmental risks for the purpose of
developing solutions and remedies to secure attractive areas for living
and achieving prosperity for these human settlements, and then limiting
the manifestations of desertification that have expanded in scope
due to climate fluctuations .
This research discusses the environmental problems that exist
in the Al-Jazeera region in Al-Karmah district, which is located within
the administrative borders of Al-Anbar Governorate. A group of important
natural characteristics through which these problems can be overcome,
such as the surface factor in terms of flatness, the vast lands and then
the availability of a water source (the Euphrates River), in addition to
the geographical location, which is an important factor that makes
this region a human settlement.
Among the previous natural characteristics, correct treatments
can be developed and transformed from dry areas and deserts that
expel the population to promising lands and green oases, and then
achieve the development of natural resources that benefit human
resources .
The structure of the research was formed from the theoretical
framework and then the natural characteristics of the study area,
which studies the relationship between the atmosphere, the biotic
and the rocky atmosphere and its impact on the formation of the
ground units, as well as the study of soil and its divisions. cities that
secure a good return for their occupants
