This approach aims at examining the Iraqi critical experience through one of the most important critical experiences, namely the experience of the Iraqi critic "Fadhil Thamer", who recorded a remarkable presence in the Iraqi critical scene since the end of the early sixties of the twentieth century and what followed, with a group of books that represented the transformations and diversity of his critical career in the theoretical, idiomatic, and procedural fields. This experience can be examined through his book “The Poetry of Modernity from the Structure of Cohesion to the Space of Fragmentation”, which is the focus of our study, and in which the critic presents a theoretical and procedural critical study of the poetry of modernity. We have decided to conduct our critical analysis on this book from the perspective of criticizing criticism, which will be a questioning of the theoretical approach and its applications on the poetic models. Hence, the research is divided into these axes:

. Criticism of the title as a procedural guide.
. The structure of cohesion as a modern critical criterion for poetry.
. Fragmentation as a postmodern standard for poetry.
. Analysis of the critical procedures.
