The Arabian Gulf region occupied great importance in the American strategy, due to American ambitions in the region because it contains oil sources, the most important energy sources in the world, in addition to the great competition between it and the Soviet Union for control of the region after Britain’s withdrawal from it.
This study deals with American policy towards the Arabian Gulf, especially American military support for it during the era of US President Richard Nixon between the years (1969 - 1973), in order to preserve American interests in that region, so the United States of America provided the necessary military support to those countries. Rich in oil, this was because the United States of America feared that its opponent, the Soviet Union, would reach that region and harm American interests there.
