Histological assessment for the effect of Growth hormone one the albino mice kidney, followed by adm

Abstract

This study used (40) laboratory mice whose average weight was (30 ± 3) grams, divided equally into four groups. The first group was injected subcutaneously with growth hormone at a concentration of 0.2 kilograms/mg between one day and another at a dose of 0.25 ml. for a period of three months. While the animals of second group were injected with 0.2mg/kg BW growth hormone and dosed orally with sage extract at a concentration of 50 mg/kg of body weight for three months. The third group was dosed with sage extract only, while the fourth group (control group) was not dosed or injected. The animals were dissected and samples were taken from the animals' kidneys and prepared for histological study to study the tissue changes resulting from injection with growth hormone and dosing with sage extract. The results showed the absence of normal tissue pattern in the group of male mice injected with growth hormone, in contrast to the group of mice injected with growth hormone and dosed with sage extract, while no tissue changes appeared in the kidneys of mice dosed with sage extract

Abstract

استخدمت في هذه الدراسة (40) فأراً مختبرياً متوسط وزنها (30 ±3) جراماً، قسمت بالتساوي إلى أربع مجموعات. تم حقن المجموعة الأولى تحت الجلد بهرمون النمو بتركيز 0.2 كيلوجرام/ملجم بين يوم وآخر بجرعة 0.25 مل. لمدة ثلاثة أشهر بينما حقنت حيوانات المجموعة الثانية بهرمون النمو بتركيز 0.2 ملجم/كجم من وزن الجسم وبنفس حجم الجرعة وجرعت فمويا بمستخلص الميرمية بتركيز 50 ملجم/كجم من وزن الجسم لمدة ثلاثة أشهر ايضا .اما المجموعة الثالثة تم تجريعها بمستخلص الميرمية فقط ولنفس المدة ، بينما المجموعة الرابعة (المجموعة الضابطة) لم يتم جرعتها أو حقنها. تم تشريح الحيوانات وأخذ عينات من كلى الحيوانات وإعدادها للدراسة النسيجية لدراسة التغيرات النسيجية الناتجة عن الحقن بهرمون النمو والجرعات بمستخلص الميرمية. أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود نمط نسيجي طبيعي في مجموعة ذكور الفئران المحقونة بهرمون النمو فقط ، على عكس مجموعة الفئران المحقونة بهرمون النمو والمجرعة بمستخلص نبات الميرمية، بينما لم تظهر أي تغيرات نسيجية في كلى الفئران المجرعة بمستخلص نبات الميرامية فقط.

Abstract

Crimean–Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) one of zoonotic viral tick born disease can infect both animals and human. Occupational persons which they are in direct contact with animals were at high risk . The disease infect animals by silent form and humans by severe type. Butchers 120 samples and veterinarians 83 samples were two occupational person groups sera targeted in our study. Results showed positive seroprevalence rate for the sera of butchers (9/120) 7.5 % , veterinarians (6/83) 7.228 % to CCHF by ELISA test. The highest results recorded according to age : butchers (2/19) 10.526 % with ages <30 year while veterinarians recorded (4/36) 11.111 % with age 33-43 years. Education degree: uneducated and secondary graduate degree butchers (2/11) 18.181 % and veterinarians (5/43) 11.627 % with under graduate degree. Finally according to living type: butchers (8/78) 10.256 % and veterinarians (5/28) 17.857 % that were living in districts and townships gave the highest result on the contrary to those living in the center of the city. It was concluded that CCHF was present in Ninevah province in Iraq and distributed all over the province in two important occupational peoples groups including butchers and veterinarians that targeted in the study.

حمى القرم-الكونغو النزفية (CCHF) أحد الأمراض الفيروسية حيوانية المنشأ المنقولة بواسطة القراد والتي يمكن أن تصيب الحيوانات والبشر على حد سواء. كل الأشخاص ذوي المهن الذين هم على اتصال مباشر بالحيوانات معرضين لخطر كبير . يصيب المرض الحيوانات بالشكل الصامت والإنسان بالنوع الحاد. الجزارين 120 عينة والأطباء البيطريين 83 عينة كانت مجموعتان بشرية ذوي مهن تعمل مع الحيوانات كانت مستهدفة في دراستنا.أظهرت النتائج ان نسبة الانتشار المصلي الموجب كانت لأمصال الجزارين (9/120) 7.5% والأطباء البيطريين (6/83) 7.228% لمرض CCHF مقاسة بواسطة اختبار الاليزا. أعلى النتائج المسجلة كانت حسب العمر : الجزارين (2/19) 10.526% بأعمار أقل من 30 سنة سجل الأطباء البيطريون (4/36) 11.111% بعمر 33 سنة -43 سنة. حسب الشهادة العلمية: الجزارون الاميين وخريجي المتوسطة (2/11) 18.181% والأطباء البيطريين الحاصلين على الشهادة الجامعية الاولية (5/43) 11.627%. وأخيراً حسب نوع المعيشة: الجزارون (8/78) 10.256% والأطباء البيطريون (5/28) 17.857% الذين كانوا يعيشون في الأقضية والنواحي أعطوا أعلى النتائج على عكس أولئك الذين يعيشون في وسط المدينة. استنتج من هذه الدراسة ان مرض حمى القرم-الكونغو النزفية ((CCHF كانت موجودة في محافظة نينوى في العراق وتوزعت في جميع أنحاء المحافظة في مجموعتين مهنية شملت كل من الجزارين والأطباء البيطريين الذين استهدفوا في الدراسة.

Abstract

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى دراسة تأثير ديدان المعدة والامعاء على المعايير الدموية والكيموحيوية في الأبقار في محافظة كركوك ، وذلك ابتداءاً من كانون الأول / 2021 حتى نهاية أيار/ 2022، شملت هذه الدراسة على فحص ديدان المعدة والامعاء في الأبقار في سبع مناطق من كركوك، اذ قسمت حيوانات الدراسة إلى مجموعتين، المجموعة الأولى تضمنت (الأبقار المصابة) بديدان المعدة والامعاء، والمجموعة الثانية (الأبقار غير المصابة) وتضمنت مجموعة السيطرة. تم فحص القيم الدمية عن طريق جهاز تعداد الدم الكامل (CBC) ، اما المعايير الكيموحيوية والتي شملت، البروتين الكلي، الألبومين، الكلوبيولين والحديد فقد تم فحصها بواسطة جهاز المطياف الضوئي باستخدام عدد خاصة بكل نوع. اذ أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن نسبة الإصابة الكلية كانت 123 بقرة (49.2٪) و 127 بقرة (51.2٪) كانت سليمة غير مصابة بهذه الديدان، حيث كانت الديدان باعلى نسبة من الأنواع Ostertiga spp.، تلتها .Trichostrongylus spp بنسب (23.57٪) و (20.32٪) على التوالي وHemonchus spp. بنسبة (17.07٪) و .Chabertia spp و Toxocara spp كان (12.2٪)، Marshileigia spp، Cooperia spp. و Ascaris spp كانت بنسب (3.25٪، 4.87٪، 4.06٪) على التوالي، اما Oesophagostomum spp. كانت (1.62٪) بينما كانت الإصابة بـ .Moniezia spp (2.43٪). وتم تقسيم الاصابات خلال فترة الدراسة حسب فصول السنة، فسجلت اعلى اصابة (62.5٪) في فصل الربيع وبمعدلات أقل (33٪ و56.8٪) في الخريف والشتاء على التوالي، وكشفت الدراسة عن انخفاض معنوي في التغيرات الدموية (P <0.05) في اعداد كرات الدم الحمراء و حجم خلايا الدم المرصوصة و الهيموكلوبين وزيادة في كل من العد الكلي والتفريقي لخلايا الدم البيضاء مقارنة مع مجموعة السيطرة وكما أظهرت الدراسة في نتائج المعايير الكيموحيوية وجود انخفاض معنوي (P <0.05) في تراكيز البروتين الكلي والألبومين والحديد. استنتجت الدراسة ان هنالك إصابات كثيرة من ديدان المعدة والامعاء في الأبقار في محافظة كركوك وان لهذه الديدان تاثيرات على القيم الدمية وبعض المعايير الكيموحيوية في الجسم.

Abstract

This study intends to identify and analyze Enteropathogenic E. coli bacteria producing extended-spectrum beta-lactamase enzymes, evaluate their antibiotic resistance, and investigate the possibility of infection transfer from animals to people. The study conducted from January 2023 to May 2024. The study involved 40 male white rats from the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Tikrit, housed in plastic cages with mesh metal covers. They were fed pellets and acclimatized for fifteen days. Culture media were prepared using various methods, including Mueller-Hinton Agar, MacConkey Agar, and UTI ChromoSelect Agar. The study involved inoculating samples with E. coli The modified method of Reed and Muench was used to estimate the median lethal dose in rats and perform bacterial counting. Tissue samples were stained with hematoxylin and eosin, and thin sections were cut and mounted on glass slides. A study on healthy control rats found that cardiac abnormalities were more pronounced in rats given a fatal dosage, with signs of structural abnormalities, bleeding, and tiny lumps. Cardiac dysfunction was indicated by haemorrhage and fragmented fibres at 14 days, necrosis, clogged coronary arteries, and leukocyte infiltration at 21 days, indicating direct toxicity to heart cells and impaired circulation. In rats' intestines, significant structural damage and inflammation were observed seven days after exposure to a fatal dosage, including flattened villi, atrophied cells, inflammatory cell infiltration, and necrosis of mucosal cells. The median lethal dosage for 50% death was 1 x 10^-3 cells. The study found that the fatal dosage significantly affected the architecture of the heart and intestines, and different organs had different recovery times.

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تحديد وتحليل بكتيريا الإيشريشيا القولونية الممرضة المعوية المنتجة لإنزيمات البيتا-لاكتاماز واسعة الطيف، وتقييم مقاومتها للمضادات الحيوية، والتحقق من إمكانية انتقال العدوى من الحيوانات إلى البشر. تم إجراء الدراسة من يناير 2023 إلى مايو 2024.
شملت الدراسة 40 فأراً أبيضاً من الذكور من كلية الطب البيطري، جامعة تكريت، وقد تم إيواؤها في أقفاص بلاستيكية مغطاة بشبك معدني. تم تغذيتهم بكرات الطعام وتم تكييفهم لمدة خمسة عشر يوماً. تم تحضير أوساط الزرع باستخدام طرق متنوعة، بما في ذلك أجار مولر-هينتون، أجار ماكونكي، وأجار كروموسيلكت الخاص بالتهابات المسالك البولية. شملت الدراسة تلقيح العينات بالإشريكية القولونية. تم استخدام الطريقة المعدلة لريد وموينش لتقدير الجرعة القاتلة الوسطية في الفئران وإجراء العد البكتيري. تم تلوين عينات الأنسجة بهيماتوكسيلين وإيوسين، وقطعت مقاطع رقيقة ووضعت على شرائح زجاجية.
وجد في هذه الدراسة على فئران التحكم السليمة أن الشذوذات القلبية كانت أكثر وضوحًا في الفئران التي أعطيت جرعة قاتلة، مع علامات على تشوهات هيكلية، نزيف، وتكتلات صغيرة. أشارت الخلل الوظيفي القلبي إلى النزيف والألياف المجزأة بعد 14 يوماً، والنخر، وانسداد الشرايين التاجية، وتسرب الكريات البيضاء بعد 21 يوماً، مما يشير إلى سمية مباشرة لخلايا القلب وضعف الدورة الدموية. في أمعاء الفئران، لوحظت أضرار هيكلية كبيرة والتهاب بعد سبعة أيام من التعرض لجرعة قاتلة، بما في ذلك تسطح الزغابات، وضمور الخلايا، وتسلل الخلايا الالتهابية، ونخر الخلايا المخاطية. كانت الجرعة القاتلة الوسطية لوفاة 50% من الفئران هي 1 × 10^-3 خلايا. وجدت الدراسة أن الجرعة القاتلة أثرت بشكل كبير على هيكل القلب والأمعاء، وكان للأعضاء المختلفة أوقات تعافي مختلفة.
في الختام، وجدت الدراسة أن الفئران التي تعرضت لجرعة قاتلة من السموم تعرضت لتغيرات هيكلية ووظيفية كبيرة في أنسجة الأمعاء والقلب. أظهرت الفئران تغيرات التهابية، وانخفاض في تدفق الدم، وضمور تدريجي ونخر في ألياف عضلة القلب.

Abstract

This This study has been conducted in order to o isolate and identify Pseudomonas aeruginosa from human urinary tract infections using traditional methods and the VITEK-2 system. Where , 120 patients with urinary tract infections participated. 20 samples were taken using a catheter and 100 urine samples were taken without a catheter. The samples were incubated at 37°C for 24 hours using brain heart infusion broth, then Pseudo agar, Cetrimide agar, and MacConkey agar. The bacterial isolates were purified and diagnosed by conventional biochemical tests. Then the pure cultures underwent examination by the Vitek-2 system. Bacterial isolates on MacConkey agar showed small, pale colonies, while Cetrimide agar showed bacterial isolates as smooth, mucous-shaped colonies. The use of the Vitek-2 system confirmed that all suspected colonies were isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The results of the current study revealed the isolation of sixty-eight (68 isolates) Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates. In Conclusion, Vitek-2 technology can quickly and accurately identify clinically important germs, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Abstract

استهدفت هذه الدراسة عزل وتشخيص الزائفة الزنجارية من المجرى البولي في الأنسان بالطرق التقليدية و نظام VITEK-2. أجريت الدراسة على العينات المجموعة من 120 شخصاً مصابين بمرض التهاب المجرى البولي. حيث تم أخذ 25 عينة باستخدام القسطرة و95 عينة بول بدون قسطرة. حضنت العينات عند 37 مْ خلال 24 ساعة بأستخدام مرق نقيع القلب والدماغ ثم أكار السيدو و أكار الستريمايد وأكار الماكونكي. تم تنقية العزلات البكتيرية وشخصت عن طريق الاختبارات البيوكيميائية التقليدية. ثم خضعت الزروعات النقية للفحص بواسطة نظام Vitek-2. اظهرت العزلات البكتيرية على وسط أكارماكونكي مستعمرات صغيرة شاحبة، وظهرت على أكار السيتريمايد بشكل مستعمرات مخاطية الشكل ناعمة. أظهر استخدام تقنية الفايتك-2 أن جميع المستعمرات المشتبه بها كانت من نوع الزوائف الزنجارية. أسفرت نتائج الدراسة الحالية عن عزل ثمانية وستين (68) عزلة زوائف زنجارية. واخيرا يمكن لتقنية الفايتك-2 تحديد الجراثيم المهمة سريريًا بسرعة وبدقة، بما في ذلك الزوائف الزنجارية.

Abstract

The current study included microscopic diagnosis of 25 samples of liver and cecum from naturally infected turkeys with Histomonas meleagridis by direct smear using giemsa stain .This study is considered the first in Salah al-Din and Kirkuk provinces / Iraq. The results of microscopic examination showed the presence of the parasite H.meleagridis in (22) liver samples (88%) and in (21) cecum samples (84%) where the parasite appeared as amoebic form in a spherical or oval shape and a size ranging (4_12 µm).

Abstract

تضمنت الدراسة الحالية التشخيص المجهري لطفيلي Histomonas meleagridis بطريقة المسحة المباشرة باستخدام صبغة الكيمزا في عينات الكبد والأعور من 25 عينة من الديوك الرومية المصابة بشكل طبيعي.بينت نتائج الفحص المجهري وجود الطفيلي في (22) عينة كبد وبنسبة( 88% ) وفي (21) عينة أعور وبنسبة (84 %) حيث ظهر الطفيلي بالشكل الاميبي بشكل كروي او بيضوي وبحجم يتراوح (4_12 مايكرومتر) .
كانت العلامات السريرية للطيور المصابة هي خمول وفقدان الشهية وانخفاض في الوزن مع اسهال اصفر ذو رائحة كريهة لبعض الحالات ،بالإضافة الى تدلي الرأس والريش الغير المنتظم ولم يلاحظ الرأس المزرق إلا في حالات قليلة في الاعمار الصغيرة . اظهر الفحص العياني لعينات الاعور والكبد وجود زيادة في سمك جدران الاعور اضافة الى وجود نزف ومواد متجبنة صلبة في تجويف الاعور، اما في الكبد لوحظ وجود تضخم و بؤر نخريه ذات احجام واشكال مختلفة .

Effect of genetic and non-genetic factors on some productive and reproductive traits of Holstein cow

Abstract

This study was conducted at the Al-Salam cows’ station for milk production located in Al-Latifiya sub- district - Al-Mahmudiyah district (25 km south of Baghdad governorate) on a sample of (180) Holstein cows imported from Germany by Taj Al-Nahrain company, to study the effect of the parity, season and calving year on total Milk Production (TMP), the lactation period (LP), calving interval (C.I), Services per conception (SPC)and to estimate the heritability of the studied traits. The results showed that the overall means of TMP and LP were 3172.53 kg and 237.09 days respectively. The parity effect on TMP in Holstein cows was highly significant. Total Milk production increased with the advance of parity and mostly reached its maximum value in the 4th and 3rd parity being 3305.87 kg and3286.35 kg per day, respectively. Season of calving has a highly significant effect on (TMP). Cows calved in spring had a higher milk production than those calved in other seasons. Season of calving had highly significant on services per conception. The result of the study showed the heritability value for TMP, LP, SPC and CL were 0.21 ,0.08 ,0.08 and 0.07 respectively.

أجريت هذه الدراسة في محطة أبقار السلام لإنتاج الحليب الواقعة في ناحية اللطيفية – قضاء المحمودية (25 كم جنوب محافظة بغداد) على عينة مكونة من (180) بقرة هولشتاين مستوردة من المانيا من قبل شركة تاج النهرين ، لدراسة تأثير تسلسل وموسم وسنة الولادة على إنتاج الحليب الكلي (TMP) وفترة الادرار (LP) و المدة بين الولادتين المكافئ الوراثي للصفات المدروسة. أظهرت النتائج أن المتوسط العام لـ TMP و LP كان 3172.53 كغم و 237.09 يوم على التوالي. ارتفع إنتاج الحليب الكلي مع تقدم تسلسل الولادة ووصل في الغالب إلى قيمته القصوى في الولادة الرابعة والثالثة حيث بلغت 3305.87 كغم و3286.35 كغم على التوالي. موسم الولادة له أهمية كبيرة علىTMP اذ كانت الأبقار التي تولد في الربيع تنتج أعلى الحليب من تلك التي تولد في المواسم الأخرى. كان لموسم الولادة أهمية كبيرة في عدد التلقيحات اللازمة للأخصاب. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن قيمة المكافئ الوراثي كانت 0.21 ،0.08 ،0.08و0.07لكل من TMP، LP،SPC ، CLعلى التوالي .

Abstract

An investigation into the coefficient of determination (R2) was carried out at the Ruminant Research Station of the Agricultural Research Department/Ministry of Agriculture in Abu Ghraib (20 km west of Baghdad), during the production season, on a sample of (50) kids and their mothers (does). The suitability of five asymptotic nonlinear models to describe milk production and composition of shami goats and kidding body weight growth from weaning to 6 months of age has been examined. The results of this study showed there was a positive and significant (P≤0.05) coefficient of regression (b)for kids weaning weight on daily milk production (kg) were (3.419) kg/kg, that is, the weaning weight increases (3.419) kg, and there was a positive and significant (P≤0.05) regression coefficient (b)for kids age of 6 months (kg) on daily milk production (kg) were (3.763) kg/kg. The coefficient of regression (b) of weight increase during weaning and age six months (kg) was found to be significant and positive (P≤0.05) for children in daily production of milk (kg). Protein content and non-fat solids percentage reached 2.264,0.216, and 0.238 and the determination coefficient (R2) 0.13,0.22 and 0.09, respectively. the coefficient of regression of the 6th month's weight on birth weight according to the formula Y^= 12.95+0.162 BWT2 positive and ranged from 0.176 with a determination coefficient was (0.41). The expected birth weights, weaning weight, and 6th months approach to real weights of shami goat kids by applying Logistic Equation and Brody Equation.

تم إجراء دراسة معامل التحديد (R2) في محطة بحوث المجترات التابعة لدائرة البحوث الزراعية/وزارة الزراعة في أبو غريب (20 كم غرب بغداد) خلال الموسم الإنتاجي على عينة مكونة من (50) جدي مع أمهاتها . تم فحص مدى ملائمة خمسة نماذج غير خطية مقاربة لوصف إنتاج الحليب وتركيبه في الماعز الشامي ونمو وزن الجسم من الفطام إلى عمر 6 أشهر. أظهرت نتائج هذه الدراسة وجود معامل انحدار موجب ومعنوي (P<0.05) ، لوزن الفطام الجداء على إنتاج الحليب اليومي (كغم) بلغ معامله (3.419) كغم/كغم، أي أن وزن الفطام يزداد ( 3.419) كغم، وكان هناك معامل انحدار موجب ومعنوي (P<0.05) للجداء بعمر 6 أشهر (كغم) على إنتاج الحليب اليومي (كغم) بلغ (3.763) كغم/كغم. كان هناك معامل انحدار موجب ومعنوي (P<0.05) (ب) للزيادة الوزنية بين الفطام وعمر 6 أشهر (كغم) للجداء في إنتاج الحليب اليومي (كغم). بلغت نسبة محتوى البروتين والمواد الصلبة غير الدهنية 2.264،0.216، 0.238 ومعامل التحديد (R2) 0.13،0.22 و 0.09 على التوالي. أما معامل الانحدار لوزن الجداء بعمر ستة أشهرعلى وزن الولادة حسب الصيغة Y^=12.95+0.162 BWT2 موجب و كانت 0.176 و معامل التحديد (0.41). أوزان الولادة المتوقعة ووزن الفطام ومقاربة الشهر السادس للأوزان الحقيقية لصغار الماعز الشامي من خلال تطبيق المعادلة اللوجستية ومعادلة برودي.

Abstract

The liver is one of the vital organs in the body, playing a significant and essential role in performing a variety of functions that assist in supporting the immune system, digestion, metabolism, detoxification, and storage of vitamins, among other functions. Additionally, its active role extends throughout fetal life before birth. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the developmental changes occurring in liver cells and tissues of fetuses before birth, specifically on days (10, 15, 19), and to understand its role and effective impact on fetal development. This study was conducted at the Animal House of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Tikrit University in Iraq. Laboratory rats obtained from the same study location were used, with a total of nine (9) rats, comprising six (6) females for tissue sectioning and three (3) males solely for mating purposes. The females were divided into three groups for days (10, 15, 19) before birth. After dissection and selection of the organs (liver parts), the samples were fixed, and tissue sections were prepared using hematoxylin and eosin staining. The results showed clear indications of the formation and development of various liver cells, including hepatocytes, bile ducts, and central veins, reflecting this development on fetal life. This developmental process persisted until birth.

الكبد من الاعضاء المهمة داخل الجسم وله دور مهم وكبير في اداء مجموعة من الوظائف التي تساعد في عملية دعم الجهاز المناعي والهضم والتمثيل الغذائي وازالة السموم وتخزين الفيتامينات من غير الوظائف الاخرى، بالإضافة الى دوره الفعال لا دامت حياة الجنين قبل الولادة، لذا هدفت هذا الدراسة الى معرفة التطورات الحاصلة للخلايا والانسجة الكبدي للأجنة قبل الولادة وللأيام (10،15،19) ومال له من دور وتأثير فعال على تطور حياة الجنين حيث اجريت هذه الدراسة في البيت الحيواني لكلية الطب البيطري في جامعة تكريت في العراق واستخدمت في هذه الدراسة جرذان مختبرية التي تم الحصول عليها من نفس مكان الدراسة حيث كان العدد الكلية المستخدم هو تسعه (9) جرذان موزعة على ستة (6) اناث من اجل اجراء المقاطع النسيجية وثلاثة (3) ذكور لأغراض التزاوج فقط، وزعت الاناث على ثلاث مجاميع للأيام (10،15،19) قبل الولادة وبعد اجراء عملية التشريح واخذ الاعضاء المنتخبة (اجزاء الكبد ) وبعد تثبيت العينات تمت عملية اجراء المقاطع النسيجية وذلك باستخدام صبغة الهيماتوكسلين والايوسين والتي اظهرت نتائج واضحه على تكوين وتطور الخلايا الكبدية المتنوعة كتكوين خلايا كوفر وتكوين الجيبانيات وتكوين الوريد المركزي وانعكاس هذا التطور على حياة الجنين واستمر هذا التطور الحاصل حتى حدوث الولادة.

Abstract

This study used (40) laboratory mice whose average weight was (30 ± 3) grams, divided equally into four groups. The first group was injected subcutaneously with growth hormone at a concentration of 0.2 kilograms/mg between one day and another at a dose of 0.25 ml. for a period of three months. While the animals of second group were injected with 0.2mg/kg BW growth hormone and dosed orally with sage extract at a concentration of 50 mg/kg of body weight for three months. The third group was dosed with sage extract only, while the fourth group (control group) was not dosed or injected. The animals were dissected and samples were taken from the animals' kidneys and prepared for histological study to study the tissue changes resulting from injection with growth hormone and dosing with sage extract. The results showed the absence of normal tissue pattern in the group of male mice injected with growth hormone, in contrast to the group of mice injected with growth hormone and dosed with sage extract, while no tissue changes appeared in the kidneys of mice dosed with sage extract

Abstract

استخدمت في هذه الدراسة (40) فأراً مختبرياً متوسط وزنها (30 ±3) جراماً، قسمت بالتساوي إلى أربع مجموعات. تم حقن المجموعة الأولى تحت الجلد بهرمون النمو بتركيز 0.2 كيلوجرام/ملجم بين يوم وآخر بجرعة 0.25 مل. لمدة ثلاثة أشهر بينما حقنت حيوانات المجموعة الثانية بهرمون النمو بتركيز 0.2 ملجم/كجم من وزن الجسم وبنفس حجم الجرعة وجرعت فمويا بمستخلص الميرمية بتركيز 50 ملجم/كجم من وزن الجسم لمدة ثلاثة أشهر يضا.اما المجموعة الثالثة تم تجريعها بمستخلص الميرمية فقط ولنفس المدة ، بينما المجموعة الرابعة (المجموعة الضابطة) لم يتم جرعتها أو حقنها. تم تشريح الحيوانات وأخذ عينات من كلى الحيوانات وإعدادها للدراسة النسيجية لدراسة التغيرات النسيجية الناتجة عن الحقن بهرمون النمو والجرعات بمستخلص الميرمية. أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود نمط نسيجي طبيعي في مجموعة ذكور الفئران المحقونة بهرمون النموفقط ، على عكس مجموعة الفئران المحقونة بهرمون النمو والمجرعة بمستخلص نبات الميرمية، بينما لم تظهر أي تغيرات نسيجية في كلى الفئران المجرعة بمستخلص نبات الميرامية فقط.

Abstract

Breast cancer (BC) is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women worldwide, and it is ranked as second in terms of cancer related death in women. The aim of this study several stem markers have been described for the various histological subtypes of breast cancer, stem cells (CSCs) of breast cancer have been found to strongly express adhesion molecule glycoprotein cluster of differentiation 44 (CD44). CD44 is expressed in the membrane of the cells, so it differs from the other studied markers which were cytoplasmic expressed markers. Negative expression scored (0) were observed in 15 out of 31samples (48.3%), while score (+) found in 5 out of 31samples (16.12%), score (++) found in 2 out of 31samples (6.4%)and score (+++) found in 9 out of 31samples.

سرطان الثدي هو أكثر أنواع السرطان التي يتم تشخيصها لدى النساء في جميع أنحاء العالم، ويحتل المرتبة الثانية من حيث الوفيات المرتبطة بالسرطان لدى النساء. الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو وصف العديد من العلامات الجذعية للأنواع الفرعية النسيجية المختلفة للخلايا الجذعية لسرطان الثدي.
CSCs وقد وجد أنها تعبر بقوة عن مجموعة البروتين السكري لجزيء الالتصاق للتمايز 44 (CD44). يتم التعبير عن CD44 في غشاء الخلايا، لذلك فهو يختلف عن العلامات الأخرى التي تمت دراستها والتي كانت عبارة عن علامات معبر عنها السيتوبلازم. تمت ملاحظة التعبير السلبي (0) في 15 من أصل 31 عينة (48.3٪)، بينما تم العثور على النتيجة (+) في 5 من أصل 31 عينة (16.12٪)، والنتيجة (++) وجدت في 2 من أصل 31 عينة (6.4٪) و النتيجة (+++) وجدت في 9 من أصل 31 عينة.

Effect of adding E. globulus (Myrtaceae) on growth, immunological and biochemical parameters in Cypr

Abstract

The present study was aimed to evaluate the efficiency of E. globulus on growth performance on Common carp. For this purpose, 100 fingerlings of Cyprinus carpio weight ranged between 65.18 -65.36 g were randomly distributed into five treatment groups. Fish were fed with different E. globulus concentrations: 0.25% (T2), 0.5% (T3), 0.65% (T4) and 1% (T5). The first group (T1) was serve as control group without any addition of E. globulus . After 28 days of feeding, blood samples were collected for determination of hematological and biochemical parameters. The feed trail results indicate that treatment groups supplemented with E. globulus had significantly greater growth rates, hematological and biochemical parameters (P≤0.05) as compared to the control group. The highest values were observed in the T4 supplement with 1.5 percent E. globulus. Our findings indicate that the food supplement of E. globulus enhanced the hematological, biochemical, and growth rate parameters of C. carpio. This shows that the carp are using this feeding supplement.

هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى تقييم كفاءة الكالبتوز في نمو أسماك الكارب الشائع, اذ تم استخدام 100 إصبعية تراوحت أوزانها بين 65.18 - 65.36 غرام موزعة عشوائياً على خمسة مجاميع. عدت المجموعة الأولى (T1) كمجموعة سيطرة اذ انها لم تعامل بأية اضافة, بينما عوملت المجاميع الاخرى على النحو الاتي: المجموعة الثانية بتركيز 25 % من الكالبتوز, المجموعة الثانية بتركيز 5 % من الكالبتوز, المجموعة الثالثة بتركيز 75 % من الكالبتوز في حين عوملت المجموعة الرابعة بتركيز 1 % من الكالبتوز تم جمع عينات الدم على فترتين 28 يوم و 56 يوما من التغذية لقياس المعايير الدموية والكيموحيوية. اذ اشارت نتائج التجربة في المجاميع المعاملة بالكالبتوز الى وجود ارتفاعا معنويا (P≤0.05) في معدلات النمو بازدياد نسبة المعاملة بالكالبتوز وارتفاعا معنويا في المعايير الدموية بشكل طردي مع نسبة المعاملة بالكالبتوز مقارنة فيما بين المجاميع المعاملة وعند المقارنة مع مجموعة السيطرة اذ لوحظت أعلى قيمة في المجموعة الرابعة المعاملة بنسبة 1 % من الكالبتوز. نستنتج من هذه الدراسة الى ان المكملات الغذائية المستخدمة في تغذية الاسماك ( الكالبتوز انموذجا) قد ساهمت في تحسين صورة الدم وبعض المعايير الكيموحيوية في اسمالك الكارب العادي.

Abstract

This study has been conducted in order to examine the effects of baobab on oxidative stress in a diabetic model. Including seven groups, involved 10 albino rat for each group the first group is the control group that no treatment and positive group diabetic group which treated with alloxan was used to induce diabetes in the experimental group 100 mg/kg. Blood samples were taken to confirm diabetes, and after stabilization, the experimental group was distributed into subgroups. Different treatments, including baobab crude 500mg/kg , metformin 100 mg/kg, and combination(baobab 500 mg/kg + metformine 100 mg/kg) , were administered orally until day 30 . Kidney and liver samples isolated collected for histological analysis. Statistical analysis using ANOVA and tests was be performed, and the results was presented as mean ± SEM

إجريت هذه الدراسة لفحص تأثيرات الباوباب على الإجهاد التأكسدي في نموذج سكري. شملت الدراسة سبع مجموعات، تضمنت 10 جرذان في كل مجموعة. كانت المجموعة الأولى مجموعة السيطرة لم تتلق أي علاج، والمجموعة الإيجابية (المجموعة السكرية) التي عولجت بالألوكسان بجرعة 100 مجم/كجم لتحفيز السكري في المجموعة التجريبية. تم أخذ عينات دم لتأكيد الإصابة بالسكري، وبعد الاستقرار، تم توزيع المجموعة التجريبية إلى مجموعات فرعية. تلقت هذه المجموعات علاجات مختلفة، بما في ذلك مطحون الباوباب بجرعة 500 مجم/كجم، وميتفورمين بجرعة 100 مجم/كجم، ومزيج من الباوباب (500 مجم/كجم) والميتفورمين (100 مجم/كجم)، وتم إعطاؤها عن طريق الفم حتى اليوم 30. تم جمع عينات من الكلى والكبد للتحليل النسيجي. تم إجراء التحليل الإحصائي باستخدام اختبار ANOVA، وتم عرض النتائج كمتوسط ± الخطأ المعياري.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the anatomical and histological parameters in the spleen of the wild rabbits. Ten healthy adult wild rabbits were included. The spleen was collected and prepared for histological and morphological studies. The spleen of wild rabbit is dark red color and locate in abdominal cavity beneath the diaphragm. The histological study showed that the wild rabbit spleen has thick capsule, covered the white and red pulps.
