Abstract
Field experiment was conducted during the spring season of 2013 at farmer field near thi-Qar town in order to study the response of two sunflower variety( Flammely and Euroflore ) to three planting date ( 3/20 , 3/10 , 2/30 ) and two plant population ( 80000 and 100000 plant / ha) .
The experimental design was R.C.B. where treatments were in factorial arrangement . The results showed that the variety Flamme gave higher yield/plant (40.384 g/plant) and plant population of 100000 plant/ha gave the highest yield/plant (40.509 g/plant) while planting date in 10 th of March gave the highest yield per plant (42.508 g/plant).The interaction of the variety Flamme and plant population of 100000 plant/ha gave the highest grain yield/plant (41.687 g/plant) , also the interaction of population of 80000 plant/ha and planting date of 10 th of March gave the highest yield (43.393 g/plant).Also, planting date of 10 th March and the variety Flamme gave the highest grain yield/plant (42.645 g/plant) . The three way interaction of the variety Euroflor and plant population of 80000 plant/ha and planting date in 10 th of March gave the highest yield (44.87 g/plant).
