Smoking is a main independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease which include hypertension, unstable angina, myocardial infarction, vascular disease, and stroke. The aim of study is to identify the effect of smoking on interleukin 6, tumor necrosis factor alpha and C-reactive protein in smoking and hypertensive patients. Data collected was carried out during the period from July 2018 to September 5,125.72 cm Bajii city which include measurement of Interleukin 6, C.R protein and tumor necrosis factor alpha. In this study there was a significant differences between the control and hypertensive cases, but there is non-significant differences between hypertensive smoker and non-smoker cases. About the interlukin there is a significant differences between the control and hypertensive cases. In C.R protein, there is a significant differences between the control and hypertensive cases, but there is non-significant differences between hypertensive smoker and non-smoker cases, about the tumor necrosis factor, there is a significant differences between the control and hypertensive cases, but there is non-significant differences between hypertensive smoker and non-smoker

The study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effect of Aqueous Extract of Adiantum capillus-veneris leaves (AEA) against nephrotoxicity induced by Gentamicin. Twenty four adult male rats housed in animal house unit / college of veterinary, underwent to the necessary laboratory conditions. Study period was 8 days. Rats divided into four groups: first was normal control, second treated gentamicin(80mg/kg/day.im), third group treated with gentamicin(80mg/kg/day.im) and AEA(250mg/kg/day. oral) and fourth group treated with gentamicin (80mg/kg/day.im) and metformin (100mg/kg/day.oral). Blood were taken by cutting jugular vein serum were used to estimate levels of albumin, urea, creatinine, malondialdehyde(MDA), glutathione (GSH) and superoxide dismutase (SOD). Also Kidney were weighted and homogenate to estimate oxidant-antioxidant parameters. Results showed a significant increase in albumin, urea, creatinine, MDA and a significant decrease in GSH and SOD in rats treated by gentamicin compared to control in P<0.01, while treating by AEA and metformin showed a significant decrease in Albumine, Urea, creatinine, MDA and a significant increase in GSH and SOD and CAT in AEA group compared to gentamicin group. The significance was higher in AEA than metformin. We concluded that AEA has a therapeutic activity against nephrotoxicity induced by gentamicin in male rats.

A simple, sensitive and rapid spectrophotometric method for determination of Montelukast Sodium (MON) in both pure form and pharmaceutical formulations was developed. This method was based on the oxidation of the studied drug in presence of acidic medium by a known excess of (Potassium bromide: Potassium bromate) (KBr:KBrO3) and subsequent determination of unreacted oxidant by reacting it with Crystal Violet (CV) dye [4 [bis [4 (dimethylamino) phenyl] methylidene] cyclohexa-2,5-dien-1-ylidene]-dimethylazanium to produce blue product at λmax. 592 nm. The linearity range was found to be (5-50)μg/ml and molar absorptivity 1.5691×104 L/mol.cm, correlation coefficient 0.9993 and the limit of detection 0.209 μg/ml. This method was successfully applied for the determination of (MON) in tablet formulation

A total of 31 different Streptomyces isolates were recovered from 25 samples of soil collected from different sites in Tikrit University gardens. There were 14 isolates showed as activity against pathogenic bacterial isolates, 6 (43)% isolates were effected against Staph. aureus. and E. coli, while 3 (21)% isolates showed impact high against Staphylococcus aureus only, and did not show any effect against Escherichia coli, while 5 (36)% isolates showed impact against E. coli only, Streptomyces albus were identified which gave the high effectiveness against pathogenic bacteria on the bases of morphological and biochemical tests and sensitivity to some antibiotics. This isolate was gave high production at 30 C for 7 days and pH 7, the best carbon source when used glucose at concentrations 15-20 g / l and the level of salt was at 1.5 g / l and with the use of Cysteine as a nitrogen source oncluded that AEA has a therapeutic activity against nephrotoxicity induced by gentamicin in male rats.

Objective: compares efficacy & side effects of vaginal put of 400 or 600 microgram of cytotic in repeated doses in termination of first trimester gestational age. Desgn: Randomized prospect study. Setting and duration of study: Maternity teaching hospital in Sulaimani from 1st of January to the end of June 2009. Patients and methods: This study was included 90 pregnant women admitted during first trimester of gestation, requiring termination of pregnancy because of fetal demise. These patient are divided into two groups: (45) women received 600 mcg of misoprostol vaginally and other group 45 were received 400 mcg of it also vaginally. Misoprostol was given every 6hr for three doses. They were observed and evaluated in 24 hours.Result: Group1 had a complete abortion rate of 35.6% while group2 abortion rate of 13.3% this was significant. The time interval from put abortion was 8.04 ± 4.280 hours in group1 and 9.62 ± 5.237 hours in group2

150 samples had been collected from eye patients with ages ranged between 1 month to 80 years of both genders. The patients were clients of the consultant clinic of ophthalmology Salahuddin public Hospital for the duration between October 2016 to February 2017. The results of the isolated bacteria were divided into two section: the Gram positive bacteria while represented the highest ratio in a matter of 78 isolates that represent (82%), whereas the number of the Gram negative bacteria reached 22 isolates which represents (18%). The inhibitory effect of the aqueous and spirituous extract of Terfezia sp. Was tested against the bacterial isolates that proved high resistance against antibiotics. Three different concentrations (750,1000 and1500 mg / ml) were used, and The results proved the effectiveness of the aqueous extract against most isolates with inhibitory diameter ranged between (30-9) mm, whereas the spirituous extract proved inhibitive effectiveness against three Staph. Saprophyticus isolates only with inhibition diameters of (28-8 mm).

This investigation involves development of a simple pectrophotometric method and a flow injection – activated chemiluminescence (FIA-Cl) for the determination of amoxicillin (Amox.) in pharmaceutical formulations. Spectrophotometric method was based on the oxidation of the (Amox.) with alkaline potassium permanganate, the reaction was followed spectrometrically by measuring the absorbance of (Amox.) at 600 nm. The reaction time of oxidation at (20 min) method is adopted for determining the drug concentration. The calibration graph was linear in the range of (5-50)μg.ml-1 with a correlation coefficient of (0.9995), detection limit of (4.76) μg.ml-1, molar absorption coefficient is 2557.8 L/mol.cm and a relative standard deviation RSD% of (1.84%). The method of FIA-CL was based on the activation of luminol – cobalt – H2O2 chemiluminescence by (Amox.). The linearity is (8-32) μg.ml-1 with detection limit of (6.2)μg.ml-1, and correlation coefficient was (0.9998 ) n=6 and the relative standard deviation was(1.48%). The two methods were applied successfully to determine the content of (Amox.) in pharmaceutical preparations with a recovery of 98.9% .
