The present work was designed to estimate the correlation between lipids profiles and sex hormones
(Testosterone & Estradiol) in women with coronary heart disease undergoing catheterization in addition to
the measurement of iron status ,insulin, insulin resistance & body mass index . Twenty female patients with
coronary heart disease were participated in the present study, with age range 50-70 years. Fifteen apparently
healthy females were selected as control group. Serum levels of total Cholesterol ,HDL ,iron and TIBC were
measured spectrophotometrically while UIBC, ETIBS, TS% , transferring concentration and LDL were
calculated mathematically. Serum ferritin, Testosterone , Estradiol & insulin were measured using ELISA
technique. The results showed significant increase (p<0.05) in Lipid Profile & iron indices of CHD patients
in comparing with healthy control group except iron , HDL,TS, which decreased significantly (p<0.05) in
those patients in comparing with control group . Serum Testosterone , estradiol and insulin no significantly
(p<0.05) in those patients in comparing with control group. The results revealed a positive correlation
between iron store , TG ,LDL, Cholesterol with CHD , reversible correlation between estradiol with CHD and
There is no statistically significant correlation noticed among iron , HDL, testosterone ,insulin, and blood
sugar with CHD. It can be concluded that female patients with CHD undergo Catheterization are at high
risk for hyperlipidemia .

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease with an axes of cardiovascular morbidity and
mortality due to accelerated atherosclerosis. patients with active RA frequently show an atherogenic lipid
profile, which has been linked with the inflammatory reaction. Methotrexate, a pivotal pre-inflammatory
cytokine implicated in pathogenesis of atherosclerosis in RA, may be involved in the development of the
altered lipid profile observed in active RA. Thirty female patients with active RA (range of age 40-67 years)
and 45 apparently healthy volunteers participated in the study .Total cholesterol(TC) , high density lipoprotein
cholesterol (HDL-C) low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), triglycerides (TG), the atherogenic index
ratio (cholesterol/HDL cholesterol) and the ratio(LDL-C/HDL-C) were measured at base line and after 1
year of treatment, No differences were detected in serum TC,TG , LDL-C except HDL-C in non MTX users
and subjects taking MTX . In our study investigate the effects of methotrexate treatment combination with
inflammatory markers on lipid profile patients with active RA.

In this work, the effect of five types of inorganic phosphors salts on flammability and mechanical properties
(Flexural and Tensile) strength, of partially cross linked modified unsaturated polyester, were studied. Sheets
of composites with different weight percentage of additives were prepared. Four standard test methods were
used to measure the flame retardation and mechanical properties, which are: ASTM: D – 2863, ASTM: D –
635, ASTM: D – 790 and ASTM: D – 638. Results obtained from these tests indicated that, additive V has
high efficiency as a flame retardant, self – extinguishing (S.E.) was occur at the percentage 1.5 % and
non – burning (N.B.) was occur at the percentage 2.5 % for resin and showed high effect to reduce the values
of the mechanical behaviors, but additive I has low effect on retard composition and low effect on the values
of mechanical properties.

A new ligand 4-[(4-Dimethylamino-benzylidene)-amino]-1,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-1,2-dihydro-pyrazol-3-one (L)
was synthesized by the reaction of 4-aminoantipyrine with 4-Dimethylamino benzaldehyde in absolute ethanol
. the complexes of Co(II), Zn(II) Cd(II) and Hg(II) with this ligand have been prepared. The characterization
of ligand complexes are verify by elemental analysis, FT-IR, and UV/visible spectra. Beside, the
determination of mole ratio M:L for complexe, determination of metal content M% by flame atomic
absorption spectroscopy, molar conductance in absolute ethanol and magnetic moments (µeff.) are presented.

This study involves the synthesis of three new azo dyes 4-aminoantipyrine with 8-hydroxyquinoline (L1) , 2-
thiobarbituric acid (L2) and 2-methylthiobarbituric acid (L3) . The characterization of dyes have been
described by C.H.N. , I.R. and visible . spectroscopic techniques , the electronic spectra of these azo dyes were
studied in term of acid-base properties at different pH values ( 0.65- 12 ) ,which includes establishing
isobestic point , mechanism and determination of protonation and ionization constants of dyes. The effect of
solvents of different polarities on the electronic spectra were also investigated.

The present study was conducted to verify the relationship between Hemoglobin (Hb) concentration (con),
Reduced glutathione (GSH), and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in 50 healthy woman and 100 pregnant
anemic women .( anemic pregnant women) were divided into three groups, group 1 consisted of (9) patients
with first trimester, group 2 contained 57 patients with second trimester, and group 3 comprised 34 patients
with third trimester. the result exhibits a significant decrease (p<0.001) in blood hemoglobin concentration
in pregnant anemic groups comparison to the control groups . In contrast, a significant increase (p<0.001) in
MDA level in sera of women with pregnant, also a significant highly decrease was found in GSH level in
sera of pregnant women in second and third trimester (p<0.001),While there was no significant differences in
GSH level for women in first trimester as compared with control groups. Average total Hb con were
observed in the first trimester was higher than Hb con in the second trimester , while , largest decrease was
found in the third trimester, with a drop relative to the control serum total Hb con.

In this research the study of the quality of sewage treatment plant of Kufa, where it is known that the quality
standards for wastewater is by measuring the ratios of oxygen vital (DO) uptake and oxygen chemical (COD)
absorbed a foundation in laboratory tests to determine the damage sewage on living organisms and fish or
which life aquatic plants and there are indications have been studied as well as mentioned ( pH electrical
conductivity, E.C., salts dissolved total TDS, materials stuck total T.S.S, BOD, chlorides, nitrates, oil and
grease, phosphates and temperature). Before and after treatment in the treatment plant Kufa different times
throughout the year (2011-2012 AD) for eight consecutive months.
