A survey of hard ticks which infested some domestic animals in Basrah province was carried during the period from March till August 2004. Hyalomma anatolicum excavatum was found to infest cattles, buffalos and donkeys for the first time in Iraq, while H. asiaticum was recorded infesting cattles for the first time in southern area, whereas Rhipicephalus turanicus and R. sanguineus were found to infest dogs and cats for the first time in Iraq respectively.

A research was conducted on a clay loam soil, to study the interactions of various parameters on soil aggregates stability. Typic Torrifuvent natural aggregates of topsoil were sieved throughout 8 mm sieve, mixed with three levels of manure material and incubated for three intervals under three levels of soil moisture content. The changes in aggregates stability at the end of each incubation period (7, 30 and 60 days) were determined by wet sieving method. Moisture incubation treatments with manure applications gave larger proportions of stable aggregates than that without manure applications. Under dry incubation, the type of manure added had little effect on soil stability. With saturation incubation, the manure applications revealed lower increase in proportions stability than did with other moisture treatments. Interaction effects between incubation, moisture and manure application treatments were significant. Soil aggregates with moisture or with manure become more stable under incubation intervals than controls, which may indicate differences in the binding mechanisms of the soil particles. The changes in stability of soil moisture treatments suggested mechanical and physical rather than microbiological effects.

The two-way multivariate repeated measurements analysis of variance (2-way MRM ANOVA) model for complete data is studied by considering the case of multivariate response variables. The test statistics of various hypotheses on between-units factors, within-units factors and the interaction between them are given.

The result of the present study showed that the transmission of Leishmania major from infected mated mice to their babies takes place through the intra-uterine methods.The clinical manifestations of the infected mice includes , skin lesion erythema and nodules with redness .

Two experiments were carried out in this study. The first experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of cholecystectomy on lipid profile [total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), very-low density lipoprotein (VLDL), and high-density lipoprotein (HDL)]. The second experiment was aimed to investigate the effect of Taraxacum officinale leaves on plasma lipid profile of cholecysectomic rabbits. Accordingly, in Experiment one, 12 rabbits were used which allocated randomly into two groups, group one subjected to removal of gall bladder and group two was normal rabbits served as control group. In experiment two, (12) chlecysectomized rabbits were also divided randomly into two groups, first group received (250 mg/kg) B.W. of alcoholic extract of T. Officinale leaves for three weeks and second group received 2ml of 0.9% NaCl. Plasma concentrations of TC, TG, HDL, LDL and VLDL in all groups in both experiments were measured every two weeks in experiment one for one month and weekly for experiment two.

This paper briefly describes a simple spectrophotometric method for the determination of tetracycline in pharmaceutical preparation . The method is based on measurement of the absorbance of tetracycline- cerium(IV)complex at 430 nm in 1M sulphuric acid solution. Calibration graph for tetracycline was obtained over the range of 50-350 µg.ml- 1 The detection limit (2x noise) is 0.0025 µg.ml- 1 and with R.S.D for 5 replicate 0.03% .This method allowed the determination of tetracycline in pharmaceutical preparations with a satisfactory accuracy when comparing it with official BP method

In this paper bifurcation periodic traveling-wave solutions of the regularized Boussinesq system which model waves in a horizontal water channel in both directions was studied by using a local scheme of Liapunov –Schmidt. Asymptotic representation of bifurcation periodic solutions is given.

The effects of scattering potentials are tested by using the partial wave method for low-energy elastic scattering of electrons from helium atom . Roothaan- Hartree-Fock atomic wave functions are used to performing these calculations. In this paper three modern models for correlation potentials I derive from Armiento-Mattsson (2003) and Baer-Neuhauser (2005) correlation energy functions respectively ,these three models used separately to constructing the optical (full) scattering potentials that used to performing my calculations and this can serve as new addition in this field where the results I get are discussed . These optical scattering potential models consists of the sum of the energy dependent electron gas exchange potential (Hara version) plus the energy independent electron gas correlation potential (one of the models I derive in this work ) plus the long range polarization potential (Ali version) plus the well known static potential .I present a modify results for differential, total elastic and momentum transfer cross sections. My models and corresponding my results can serve as a new addition in this field. The results obtained in this paper are in good agreement with the other theoretical results of other investigators and with experimental measurements.

We have used the theory of Bose-Einstein condensate to develop a theoretical model to calculate the coherence length of the interacting particles. Three different types of atoms are treated in this model in order to check its validity. Comparing our results with the available experimental and theoretical data in the literature showed a very good agreement. Since the atom laser is a brand new study and still a basic, according to our knowledge, no other values could traced for atoms like 24Mg, 39K, and 133Cs in the literature. Therefore, we can claim that our calculations for these atoms are made for the first time.

A polyacrylamide was prepared by applying the solution technique used for synthesis of organic polymer. It was characterized by different techniques such as elemental analysis , Infrared spectroscopy and thermal analysis .The extracting efficiency of the resin was studied toward several metal ions from their diluted solutions (50ppm) by atomic absorption spectrometry .The effect of pH and treatment time on the chelating efficiency of the resin was examined and the optimum conditions were found, the chelating efficiency of the resin decrease with pH less than 1.5 and from 1.5 to 7.5 above that the resin became soluble. The loading capacities of the resin for Zn2+,Cd2+,Cu2+and Pb2+ ions were found to be 1.40,1.0,0.62 and 0.42 mg ion/gm resin respectively. The recovery efficiency of these ions was also studied as a function of treating time and the pH of the acidic eluent, and it was found to be in the sequence of Zn2+>Cd2+>Cu2+>Pb2+.

The matter of finding the information matrix has been studied by many authors because
of its importance in finding the estimation of variance components for balanced or unbalanced
linear model but these studies for unbalanced data are more difficult than the balanced once
because of their complexities in regard with the calculations and the elements of the
information matrix for the variance components of the linear model involve, under
normality,the invers of the covariance matrix of vector of observations which is essential to
finding the information matrix.
Searle (1970) [5] developed general method to find the explicit expression for elements of
information matrix of variance components under normality condition and used this matrix in
finding the variance of maximum likelihood estimators of variance components and he
displayed this result for 2-way nested classification random model . Rudan and Searle (1971)
[6] used these results for 3-way nested classification random effect model . Abdullah (1997)
[1] used them for 3-way random effect with unbalanced data .
The aim of this paper is to find the information matrix for the random effect models which
are have all measurements have the same variance and the correlation for observations at
different level k is ρ3
, the correlation for observations at different level j is ρ2
and the
correlation for observations at different level j and k is ρ1
and used this matrix to find the the
variance of maximum likelihood estimators of variance components of these models and
results of this paper can be used to find the information matrix for the certain 2-way random
effect model, for the certain
3-way random effect model and for the certain 4-way mixed effect model and we can find
the variance of maximum likelihood estimators of variance components of these models.
