This study was aimed to find out a Simple, sensitive and rapid spectrophotometric method for determination of chlorpromazine hydrochloride (CPZH). The suggested method was based on the charge transfer (CT) formation complex reaction with O-Chloranil as π- acceptor. The formed violet colour of the reaction product was measured at a maximum absorption wavelength of 543 nm against the blank solution. It was obeyed to Beer-Lambert’s law over the concentration ranged of 4–36 μg/ml with a molar absorptivity of. 2309. 645 L mol-1.cm-1 and the lower of detection limit 0.3024 μg.ml-1 The method revealed high sensitivity for determination of the selected drug .

In this paper, new 11-azo substituted benzimidazole derivatives(1a-k) have been obtained under appropriate conditions and in good yields, by reaction between a novel [1,3]thiazolo[3,2-a]benzimidazol-2(3H)-one (TBIO) substrate and a series of aryldiazonium salts bearing groups with different electronic effect. The synthesized compounds were identifying by 1H NMR spectroscopy, FT-IR and mass spectrum. Evaluated the synthesis compounds in vitro antimicrobial activity have been a completion, four types of tested bacterial strains; Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Klebsiella sp. and Escherichia coli used in this work. Compound (1j) was found to be the higher antibacterial activity against each species used in this study; all ether synthesized compounds showed good activity comparing with standard antibiotic streptomycin. In vivo study for compound (1j) has been determined by finding the cytotoxicity LD50 (1895 mg/Kg b wt.) in albino mice, in addition to the histological study of albino mice liver. The evaluation of antibacterial activity (Staphylococcus aureus) in vivo on the infected rabbit have been studied.
