2-[4-Chloro-2-methoxy phenyl azo]-4,5-diphenyl imidazole used as a new
complexing organic reagent for extraction and determination of copper (II) in
different samples include plants leaves, soil and water from different position in Al
Najaf governorate as well samples of human serum, cow liver and kidney, vitamins
and spices. All these measurement carried out at the optimum condition for
complexation reaction. Beer's law is obeyed over the concentration rang 0.5-30µg/mL
with a detection limit 8×10-5 µg.mL-1 and molar absorptivity 8459.79L.mole-1.cm-1.
Sandell’s sensitivity 7.5×10-8µg.cm-2.

Density functional theory calculations have been performed to get the
optimized geometries and vibrational spectra (3N-6=9 fundamental frequencies along
with their assignments and the corresponding IR absorption intensities) for the four
three-member ring molecules (Thiirene , Seleniriene, tellurirene, and Poloniriene).It
was shown that each one of the molecules belongs to Cs symmetry point group. The
poloniriene has the higher values for C-X bond length, ∠CCX bond angle, entropy,
and the lower values for the ∠CXC bond angle, dipole moment , reactivity , ring
strain energy. Further more, some data on the bond dissociation energies,
thermodynamics functions , UV/Visible transitions and the ring strain energy were
also, reported.

Poly o- amino phenol was doped with several types of doping materials which are
4 ( 4- hydroxy phenyl azo) benzene sulfonic acid, 2,5- dimethyl benzene sulfonic acid,
NaCl, BaCl2.2H2O AlCl3. The polymer was identified by FT- IR and UV- Visible
spectroscopy.
The ionic conductance of poly o- amino phenol doped with 4( 4- hydroxy phenyl
azo) benzene sulfonic acid, 2,5- dimethyl benzene sulfonic acid, NaCl, BaCl2.2H2O,
AlCl3, was studied as a function of weight of the dopant compounds .It was noted an
increase of conductance of poly o- amino phenol by doping with 4( 4- hydroxy phenyl
azo) benzene sulfonic acid, 2,5- dimethyl benzene sulfonic acid, the conductance
became equal to 0.019488ohm-1 .

MINDO/3-FORCES calculations have been done after complete optimization of
geometry on X-monosubstituted fulvlene molecules , where X is Cl ,SH, PH2, and
SiH3 . It was found that all these substituents are stabilizing . Also, all the substituents,
in general, increase the dipole moment .Geometric parameters, heats of formation,
orbital energies, electron densities of atoms are reported for all of these molecules.

Two new monomers of N-4-antipyrinylmaleamic acid M1 and N-4-antipyrinyl
citraconamic acid M2 were synthesized from reaction of 4-Aminoantipyrine with
maleic anhydride or citraconic anhydride at room temperature with dioxane as a
solvent.
The prepared monomers M1 and M2 were polymerized free radically with AIBN as
initiator to corresponding polyamic acids P1 and P2. Which were converted to their
sodium salt polymers P3 and P4 to enhanced their solubilities in water.
The physical and chemical properties were studied for monomers and polymers, also
FT-IR ,1H-NMR and UV. Spectroscopy were characterized. The intrinsic viscosity
was measured by Ostwald viscometer at 30 0C .The swelling %was measured and the
controlled release rates of drug polymers were studied in different pH values at 37 0C

The New bidentate azo dye ligand 4-[(6-purinyl)azo]1-naphthol (PAN) was
prepared by reacting a diazonium salt solution of 6-amino purine with 1-naphthol in
alkaline solution .
The ligand and its complexes with metal ions; Fe( ), Co ( ), Ni ( )and Cu
( )were prepared and characterized by infra-red ( FT.IR) , Uv-visible spectroscopy ,
atomic absorption ,(C.H.N) analysis , Magnetic susceptibility and molar conductivity
measurements .
All complexes were found to have a general formula [M(PAN)2(H2O)2]Cl2 . The
complexes with 1:2 (M:L) showed octahedral geometry around metal ions .The molar
conductance data reveal that complexes are electrolytes 2:1, IR spectra show that the
ligand is coordinated to the metal ions in a 4-(6-purine azo )-1-naphthol through the azo
N and purine heterocyclic N .

The New ligand of azo naphthol 1-[(4-Antipyril)azo]-2- naphthol (4-AAP-2-N)
have been prepared . Three chelate complexes Have also been prepared by reacting this
ligand with the metal ions Co (II),Ni(II) and Cu(II). The preparation has been conducted
after fixing the optimum conditions of concentration.U.V- visible spectra of these
complexes solutions have been studied for a range of pH and concentrations which obey
Lampert-Beers Law .The structures of complexes are deduced according to mole ratio
method which were obtained from the spectroscopic studies of the complex solutions
.The ratios of metal: ligand obtained are (1:2) for all complexes ions .(UV-Vis)
absorption spectra of ethanolic solution of complexes showed bathchromic shift , as
compared with that of free ligand .The infrared spectra of the chelating complexes have
been studied ,this may indicate that coordination between the metal ions and the prepered
ligand takes place .The conductivity measurements , Elemental analysis ,the percentage
of metal ions and the measurements of magnetic susceptibility of the complexes were
determined ,depending on these results , in addition to, the proposed geometrical
structures of the complexes of Co (II), Ni(II), Cu(II) ions are octahedral . finally the study
of the biological activity of some of these prepared compounds towards two kinds of
disease bacteria, which is a positive bacteria for Gram pigment:
1- Staphylococcus aureus
Second classification for negative bacteria including:
2- pseudomonas aeruginosa
The results showed that some of the prepared compounds had inhibition activity toword
some types of bacteria.

According to the biological and industrial importance of Schiff bases derived
from amino acids, the U.V. derivative spectra were studied for Schiff bases derived
from Leucine amino acid and their complexes with Ni (II) and Co (II) in ethanol as
solvent. The plot of the molar concentration versus the absorbance result in a straight
line relationships obeys the Beer’s Lambert law with in certain ranges of
concentrations. The Zero, first and second order derivative spectra were recorded and
the integrated area under the peaks estimated for a solutions of different
concentrations which employed for quantification of the complexes of these Schiff
bases and shows a relative enhancement in the determination limits as compared with
Zero- order technique.

The compounds of the present study are synthesized of disaccharides where
the link between the two carbohydrate groups via a 1,2,3,-triazole or triazoline groups one
type of sugars is unsaturated sugar which contained carbon carbon double bond inside the
ring , like 3,4,6 – tri acetyl glucal and 1,3,4,6,-tetra benzoyl fructal.Addition of seven
azido sugars derivatives to seven tri-O-acetyl-D-glucal and 1,3,4,6,-tetra benzoyl fructal
and their derivatives, by applied 1,3-dipolarcycloaddition reaction seven
Triazolylsaccharides were obtained .The structures of all the products obtained have been
identified by spectral (IR , H1 – NMR ) , elemental( C,H,N) analyses and by some
physical properties .These compounds are expected to show an importance in organic
synthesis and expected to be more stable to enzymatic and chemical hydrolysis . They
may find utility as enzyme inhibitor agents and potentially as pharmaceuticals.

A fast, easy and rapid environmentally friendly method for the reduction of aromatic
nitro compounds to their corresponding amines in good yield and short time is developed
by using microwave irradiation, in the presence of zinc dust ammonium chloride and
solvent free condition.

UV derivative spectra were used for the direct quantitative determination of
coenzyme Q0, ubiquinone Q0, in aqueous solution, the quantification was
accomplished according to the integrated area under the peaks and peak amplitude.
The zero-order spectrum of coenzyme Q0 show an absorption band at 268 nm, with
molar extinction coefficient εmax=15162 l.mol-1cm-1, the determination limit was 0.02
18.2 µg/ml with R2=0.9999 and relative standard deviation RSD=0.1382 %.
The first, second, and third order spectra were recorder for coenzyme Q0 in
water at different concentrations and the determination limits were estimated

Back ground and objective: Considerable research has been directed towards the associations
between Zn,Cu, Mg & the incidence of CVD in 40 patients aged 45–67 y of both sexes,the
objectives of this study were to measure the levels of selected parameters in patients group and
compared with 25 apparently healthy adults as a control group , furthermore , compared between
patient groups MI N= 20 ,HT N = 20, find –out the sex effect, in addition, evaluate the
correlation between these elements.
METHODS:This study was performed at College of Pharmacy/ Hawler Medical University in
period between 15/1/2010 - 30/10/2010 the studied parameters were measured by atomic
absorption spectrophotometer in Baghdad /Ministry of Science and Technology /Department
Researches of Chemistry.
RESULTS :The results of the patients group were Zn=0.54 ug/ml±0.13,Cu= 0.78ug/ml ±030
,Mg=11.67±2.12 as compared with the control group ,their results were Zn= 0.745 ± 0.14 ,Cu=
0.96± 0.004, Mg= 18 ±3.The results of this study were statistically significantly decreased in
patients group as compared with the control group P<0.001.
CONCLUSIONS: There were a statistical significant decrease in the studied parameters in patient
groups as compared with the control group P<0.001.

In this study, the entrapment of 25 mole percent epoxidized natural rubber (ENR-25)
within the matrix of organocyclotriphosphazene has been explored. Two different
matrices, tight and loose were prepared via a one-step condensation polymerization of
hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene (CTP) with 2-hydroxyaniline (o-aminophenol) or 4
hydroxyaniline (p-aminophenol) in molar ratio (1:3) in the presence of 25-mole percent
epoxidized natural rubber resulting, PO2APC/ENR-25 and PO4APC/ENR-25,
respectively. The morphology study of PO2APC/ENR-25 showed two separated entities
present at the surface of the material, indicating that the entrapment of ENR-25 chains
within the tight matrix (1-oxy-2-minophenyl)cyclotriphosphazene (PO2APC) seized to
happen. On the other hand, the morphology of PO4APC/ENR-25 showed a very smooth
and homogenous surface texture, indicating the effective entrapment and uniform
dispersion of the ENR-25 chains within the loose matrix (1-oxy-4
minophenyl)cyclotriphosphazene (PO4APC). The DSC analysis of pure PO4APC showed
a glass transition temperature (Tg) at 120oC while the neat ENR-25 showed Tg at about
44oC. The DSC thermogram of PO4APC/ENR-25 reveals a soul glass transition
temperature at 76oC which is more than 120oC higher than the Tg of ENR-25 and 44oC
lower than the Tg of PO4APC. The TGA thermogram of neat ENR-25 showed one main
decomposition step at 416 oC, while that of PO4APC showed three decomposition steps at
220, 500, 645oC. The TGA thermogram of PO4APC/ENR-25 showed two decomposition
steps, the
first occurred at 213°C is attributed to partial decomposition of the cyclomatrix, PO4APC,
and the second (main) occurred at 460°C is due to decomposition of ENR-25 trapped in
PO4APC. The structural study of PO4APC/ENR-25 by FT:IR showed all the
characteristic absorptions due to PO4APC and ENR-25 without any changes or shifting,
indicating that there is no bonds braking or forming taken place between PO4APC and
ENR-25. The 1HNMR analysis of PO4APC/ENR-25 revealed that the relative integral
ratio of the epoxy proton at δ 2.70 ppm and olefinic proton at δ 5.17 ppm remains
practically similar to that observed in the 1HNMR spectrum of neat ENR-25 which is
equal to about 25%, affirming that the microstructure of ENR-25 remains intact in
PO4APC/ENR-25.

The product (L) was characterized by (FT-IR), (UV-Vis) spectroscopy and
elemental analysis (C. H. N). (L) has been used as aligand to prepare a number of metal
complexes with Cr(III), Mn(II, Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II). The prepared complexes
were isolated and characterized by (FT-IR) and (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, elemental
analysis (C. H. N) flame atomic absorption technique, as well as magnetic susceptibility

(Bacillusubtilis) and antifungal (A. niger) and (P. chrysogenum) activities by using
