Mathematical expression in a closed form for the directivity calculation of a rectangular
aperture antenna is derived in order to evaluate how efficient a simple formula presented by
other research workers is utilized to calculate the directivity of aperture antennas

In this study, a proposed AC - AC Converter has been implemented by using a single
switch conductor in parallel with electronic circuit. The proposed converter Consists of LRC
output filter and also input circuit consists of a bridge rectifier and RC filter. The circuit
have one controlled power switch operates in soft switching mode and serves as a high
frequency generator. Output power is controlled via switching frequency. This Circuit can be
used in industrial thermal applications. A detailed analysis of the models has been
investigated in this paper.

The aim of this study is to measure the radon (222Rn) concentration in water of rivers and
groundwater in Dhi-Qar governorate (Iraq). The measurements were performed by analyzing
the water samples collected from 58 location, using Emanometer techniques.
The obtained radon concentrations ranged from 116 Bq/m3 to 601 Bq/m3 in river water
and from 355 Bq/m3 to 681 Bq/m3 in the wells water. The results are presented and compared
with other studies. The results could be utilised to make distinctive supplementary
contributions when contamination event occurs and to implement water quality standards by
concerned authorities to maintain radioactive contamination-free drinking water supplies for
the people.

The influence of the velocity on the development of the ionisation has been investigated
for the study-state plasma. The cascade ionisation (represented by a constant ionisation
coefficient) was assumed to occur over a finite length of an infinite cylinder and the only loss
processes considered over this length were electron diffusion. The calculation has been
carried out for an open cylinder by using a two dimensional numerical model. The required
cascade ionisation, to sustain a given plasma density, has been calculated as a function of
velocity.

The present study was to compare the effectiveness of bone marrow transplantation on
the healing of experimentally transected superficial digital flexor tendon in sheep. Eight adult
sheep, aged between 9 months to one year were used. The animals were divided into two
equal groups (control and allograft). An transverse cutting has been made in the superficial
digital flexor tendon of the middle third of the metatarsal bone under the effect of sedation
and local anesthesia. The tendons were sutured with Bunnell suture by using polypropylene
thread (2.0 usp) in the control group. While in allograft groups 2-3ml allograft bone marrow
was injected at the site of suture tendon which was induced by similar procedure as in control
group. The incision was closed as a routine manner.
Gross examination showed adhesions between the tendon and adjacent structures which
were severe in the control group , less than that in allograft. Histopathological observations of
biopsies harvested after (15,30 and 60 days) showed dense immature collagen fibers which
was characterized by regular direction, uniform of their cellular elements filled the gap space
of tendon injury with more adhesion in late stages of the control group. In allograft treated
group inflammatory cells and arrangement fibrous connective tissue with collagen fibers
appear more than in the control group in the same period with less adhesion.

In the present study a description of unidentified monogenetic parasite detected from the
gills of short nose tripod fish Triacanthus biaculeatus ( Bloch ,1786) was given and it is clear
that this parasite differs from the other related diplectanid species by owing a special structure
in its cirrus poach. So, its appearance is considered as a new record in the Arabian Gulf waters.

T he genes glutathione S- transferase M1 (GSTM1) and GSTT1 involved in phase II
metabolism catalyse glutathione – mediated reduction of exogenous and endogenous
electrophiles. A case control study was designed to identify the association between
polymorphisms at GSTM1 and GSTT1 genes and endometrial cancer risk. While there was a
lack of association between GSTM1 null genotype with the risk of endometrial cancer, the
null genotype of GSTT1 had a 5.7 fold increased risk toward endometrial cancer (OR=5.76;
95% CI = 2.07-15.97). Both GSTM1, GSTT1 null genotype increased risk to about 3 fold.
When stratified according to different grades of endometrial cancer the GSTM1 was more
representative in grade III (OR=2.6), the association becomes stronger when the GSTT1 gene
was also null (OR= 4.6).

Essential oils of cinnamon (Cinnamomum sp.) and frankincense (Boswellia sp. ) have
been investigated for their antibacterial activity against six bacterial species including
Escherichia coli , Staphylococcus aureus , Pseudomonas aeruginosa , Brucella sp.,
Klebsiella pneumoniae,and , Proteus sp. .The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of
these essential oils were determined using an agar dilution method .MICs of Cinnamomum
sp., and Boswellia sp. essential oils ranged from 64-128 μg/ml and 2-80 mg/ml respectively
.GC-MS technique was used for constetuent analysis of these oils. The composition of
Cinnamomum sp. oil was dominated by cinnamaldehyde (41.62 %),acetic acid,octyl ester
(13.58 %) , eugenol (7.1 % ) , coumarin(4.04 %) ,pregnane-11,20dione,3,17-dihydroxy (3.46
% ),and 1-octanol(2.64 % ). The main constituents of Boswellia sp. oil was acetic acid
octyl.ester(49.46 % ),1-octanol (15.37 % ),1,6-octadien-3-ol,3,7-dimethyl (6.64 % ),acetic
acid trimethyl-bicyclo,hept-2-yl ester (2.28 % ),and propane,1-bromo (1.1 % ).

In Basra City, Southern of Iraq there was increase in the incidence of urinary tracts
problems, these problems include frequent urinary tract infection and crystalluria .
T he purpose from our study is to find out which predominant types of crystalluria and
which gender and age has higher incidence values ; where 328 urine samples for males
[n=91] and females [n=237] of different ages where analyzed by general urine examination,
and sediment was identified by polarized optic microscope to differentiate types of crystals.
The average age of patients, expressed as mean + standard deviation, was [38.05 +17.57],
and age range extended from ???? 9-80 years and divided into seven age groups from ????9 years
old to equal to or greater than 60 years old .The data was analysed statistically by using t test
and chi analysis of frequency at p<0.05. The results showed only two types of crystalluria are
found. Which is uric acid that represented 96.03%???? and Calcium oxalate that represented 3.97
%.There was no cysteine, or struvite crystals. Incidence percentage of uric acid crystals was
greater in both genders (95.6% for males and 96.2% for females) as compared with the
incidence percentage of calcium oxalate (4.4% for males and 3.8% for females) , and there
was no significant difference between males and females in the incidence percentages for
each type of crystalluria .
T he patients samples were then divided into seven age groups from ???? 9 years old to
equal to or greater than 60 years old and there were no significant differences (at p<0.05)
among all age groups in the incidence percentage of each type of crystalluria.
O ur finding there were only two types of crystalluria are most predominant ; those are
uric acid and calcium oxalate and the incidence of uric acid crystalluria was significantly
greater than oxalate in both genders and age groups, which may be greatly different from that
reported in several studies outside country .

In the present research, a series of 3-(4-chloro phenyl)-1- nitro phenyl-5-(substituted
phenyl)-formazans (5a-d) were synthesized by the condensation of schiff base(3)and
diazonium salt of various substituted aromatic amines (4a-d). The Schiff base (3) was
itself synthesized by the condensation of 4-nitro aniline(1) with 4-chloro
benzaldehyde(2). All the reaction were routinely monitored and purity was determind on
thin layer chromatography using coated aluminum plates and spots were visualized by
exposing the dry plates in iodine vapours. The structures of the compounds have
been confirmed by elemental analysis, Mass spectroscopy , 1H NMR, U.V, IR spectral
data and melting points.
