Abstract
The research aims to discuss the possibility of using the criteria of the CAMELS model in measuring the efficiency of capital adequacy and the quality of assets in the Bank of Baghdad, through the use of a measurement indicator for each of the independent variables (capital adequacy, quality of assets), and their reflection on the dependent variable (efficiency), where the inductive method was adopted in the theoretical aspect and relying on the final accounts of the bank The research sample in the practical aspect, and the research concluded that there is a possibility of using the criteria of the CAMELS model that was applied to the The data of the Bank of Baghdad in measuring the efficiency of independent variables, as the most important recommendations reached by the research is the need to reduce the percentage of capital held and make it compatible with the standard weight of the Central Bank, to avoid disruption of available financial resources, either in what With regard to the quality of assets, swift and firm measures must be taken by the Central Bank to reduce the volume of non-performing loans suffered by the bank of the research sample and most private banks according to the financial stability report issued by the Central Bank in all years of research, and it must be stressed on banks the need to apply a sober policy that works to audit the documents of guarantees and ensure their authenticity when granting loans, in order to reduce the volume of non-performing loans they have.

يهدف البحث الى مناقشة إمكانية استعمال معايير نموذج CAMELS في قياس كفاءة كفاية راس المال وجودة الموجودات في مصرف بغداد، وذلك من خلال استعمال مؤشر قياس لكل متغير من المتغيرات المستقلة (كفاية راس المال، جودة الموجودات)، وانعكاسهما على المتغير التابع (الكفاءة)، حيث تم اعتماد الأسلوب الاستقرائي بالجانب النظري والاعتماد على الحسابات الختامية للمصرف عينة البحث في الجانب العملي، وتوصل البحث الى ان هناك إمكانية لاستعمال معايير نموذج CAMELS التي تم تطبيقها على بيانات مصرف بغداد في قياس كفاءة المتغيرات المستقلة، كما ان اهم التوصيات التي توصل اليه البحث هو ضرورة تخفيض نسبة راس المال المحتفظ وجعلها تتلاءم مع الوزن المعياري للبنك المركزي، لتجنب تعطيل الموارد المالية المتاحة، اما فيما يخص جودة الموجودات لابد من اتخاذ إجراءات سريعة وحازمة من قبل البنك المركزي للحد من حجم القروض المتعثرة التي يعاني منها المصرف عينة البحث ومعظم المصارف الخاصة حسب ما جاء بتقرير الاستقرار المالي الصادر من البنك المركزي بجميع سنوات البحث، كما لابد من التشديد على المصارف بضرورة تطبيق سياسة رصينة تعمل على تدقيق وثائق الضمانات والتأكد من صحتها عند منح القروض، بغية تقليل حجم القروض المتعثرة لديها.
