The morphological description and histological structure of the olfactory organ of Parasilurus triostegus (Heckel) have been investigated. The olfactory organ situated on the dorsal surface of the head infront of the eye. It is represented by elongated olfactory sac, in which the olfactory Lamellae arranged as Rosette- like pattern .The olfactory sac connected with the olfactory bulb by short olfactory nerve. The olfactory bulb which situated near the olfactory sac connected with the olfactory lobe through a long olfactory tract.

The using of phytochemicals of Punica granatum to control the snail of Bulinus truncatus the intermediate hosts of urinary schistosomiasis in Iraq in a laboratory study. It was found that the peel and leave of Punica granatum was effective to control the snail with very small amount of different concentrations (30-50 mg/l) in the first day of the treatment.

Phytoplankton flora in southern marshes of govemorate Al- Basrah ( Al-SallaJ marsh ) Meissan (Al- Hwizah marsh) and Di-qar (Al­ Chebiaysh marsh ) were studied from August 12005 to November /2005, Four Stations were Chosen in each marsh. Identified species and total cell count were recorded . As aquality study, (35) species of algae were identified belonged to (23) genus in Al-Sallal marsh , (46) species of algae belonged (25) genus in Al-Hwizah marsh , (38) species of algae belonged (20) genus in Al-Chebiaysh marsh . The dominant species in three marshes common recorded (11) species from Bacillariophyceae belonged to (7) genus , Cyanophyceae as common recorded (3) species belonged to (3) genus , Cholorophyceae as common recorded (2) species belonged to (2) genus , Euglenophyceae as common recorded only one species . The total cell count of algae record number reached to ( 106,2 & 144,2 & 143)x I 03 cell I liter as a maximum number in marsh Al- Sallal , Hwizah and Chebiaysh respectively . Genus Phormidium recorded a high number in three marshes and all station studies

In this study, light elements Li ,10B for (a,n) and (n,a) reactions
as well as o-particle energy from threshold energy to 10 MeV are
used according to the available data of reaction cross sections. The
more recent cross sections data of (a,n) and (n,a) reactions are
reproduced in fine steps 42 Kev for 10B(n,o) Li in the specified
energy range, as well as cross section (o,n) Values were derived from
the published data of (n,a) as a function of a-energy in the same fine
energy steps by using the principle inverse reactions. This calculation
involves only the ground state of Li OB in the reactions 'Li(a,n) B
B (n,a) Li

The present study was conducted with a view to determine whether focal laser therapy results in avisual recovery and regression of macular odema in patients with non-proliferative diabetic maculopathy. A Frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser was used for the treatment of diabetic maculopathy. For several has been studied and the treatment results were discussed. The study evaluates 14 eyes of 8 diabetic patients. Mathematical model of the laser interaction with the retinal tissue is demonstrated and analysis results are explained and compared with the recent experimental and mathematical models . It has been shown that the laser treatment of the retinal diabetic macolapathy , a disease that reduces vision significantly , would stop the extension of such adisease in many cases , while it improves the visual acuity for the other cases, mathematical model put forward is shown to be consistent with the recent experimental and theoretical models .Calculation results of the laser retinal energy density as a function of the spot size are studied and compared with the corresponding features of a typical laser damage which is based on athermal damage.

The mechanical properties of fiber-reinforced-polymer (FRP)
composites are dependent on the type amount, and orientation of fiber that is selected for a particular service. There are many commercially available reinforcement forms to meet the design requirements of the user. The ability of failure in the fiber architecture allows for optimized performance of a product that saves both weight and cost ( 12).
A modem technology is adopted to produce fibers (glass, kevelar, and carbon) reinforced composite by using unsaturated polyester, where different volume fraction of these fibers are used (0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, I)
reinforcement to unsaturated polyester and the samples are cured at 25C for 24hrs.The results of thermo-mechanical properties indicates that:- AJI the mechanical properties are improved for composite samples with
preference for kevelar fiber, and good thermal properties are appeared with preference for carbon fiber. All these re ults are explained on the surface of research.

Carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9) levels were measured in sera and tissues of 40 patients with breast cancer (01), 8 patients with prostate cancer (G2)and 12 patients with thyroid cancer (G3), by the enzyme­ linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique. The patients were admitted to Medical City Hospitals (Baghdad Teaching Hospital and Nursing Home Hospital). The sera were taken just before surgery, where the specimens were taken immediately after surgery and kept in saline solution at -20°C until the time of homogenizing process. The results of CA 19-9 levels in sera were (16.309±7.143; 31.281±0.766; 11.5±0.707 U/ml respectively compared with serum CA 19-9 level of control group G4 which was 7.74:1:4.92 U/ml. The results were found to be significantly higher than control group (p < 0.005).
The results of CA 19-9 levels in tissues' homogenate were (30.554 ± 17.39; 142.375 ± 8.00; 194.5 ± 92.4) U/ml. The results revealed significantly higher levels of CA 19-9 in tissue's homogenate of each patients group compared with the serum levels of the same patients (p < 0.005).

The role of free radicals generation and Lipid Peroxidation during the course of ischemic heart disease is well establshed as a basic for Pthogenesis and subsequent tissue damage consequenes . In an attempt to shed a light on the possible relationship between lipid peroxidation and some antioxidant.
The effect of vitamine E (as a potent antioxidant free radical scavenger) . On the serum levels of the Lipoproteins, (HDLc) High Density Lipoprotein , (LDLc) Low Density Lipoprotein and (VLDLc) very Low Density Lipoprotein in healthy donors.
The study includes (50) healthy donors from males and females , who had given Vitamin E (400 Ul) daily for one month and were divided into two groups.
Group (A): includes (25) males donors (20-40) years old, befor
and after giving Vitamin E.
Group (B): includes (25) females donors (20-40) years , befor
and after giving Vitamin E.
The Level of Lipoproteins (HDLc), (LDLc), (VLDLc) and (LDLc)/ (HDLc)was determ ed in sera of healthy donors.
The results of study indicated and confirmed the role of Vitamin
(E) in reducing of (LDLc) Level, while an increase in (HDLc) level after Vitarnine (E) ingestion for the healthy donors .

A snake is an energy-minimizing spline guided by external

constraint forces and influenced by image forces that pull it toward features such as lines and edges. Snakes are active contour models: they lock onto nearby edges, localizing them accurately. Snakes provide a unified account of a number of visual problems, including detection of edges, lines, and motion tracking. We have used snakes successfully for segmentation, in which user-imposed constraint forces guide the snake near features of interest (anatomical structures). Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI) data set and Ultrasound images are used for our experiments. Good results are obtained, where Kass' snake could successfully segment the anatomical structures from MRl and ultrasound images.
