ADAB AL-BASRAH

This research deals with the analysis of the characters of " Fahil Al- Tut " a novel by the Iraqi novelist " Hazim Khalil ". The paper consists of two sections. The first section presents the characters through the external and internal description. The second section deals with the indications that are suggested by the names of the characters making use of the description that has been presented in the first section. Moreover, the present research paper aims at exposing what is hidden in the speech and the actions of the characters which the writer had intentionally hidden to let the readers enjoy discovering it.

This paper investigates some of the different notions and attitudes of 'death' in selected poems by John Donne; and these poems include, but they are not restricted to, the following poems: “Holy Sonnets”, “The Relic”, “The Second Anniversary”, “The Legacy”, “The Damp”, “The Will”, “The Canonization”, “The Indifferent”, and “The Funeral”. Death is one of the prominent themes highlighted in Donne's poetry and sermons, and it could be argued that he was obsessed by the nature of death. His fascination with death manifests itself in his works. Hence, the present paper attempts to tackle that obsession and reveal some of its hidden concepts.
Being so concerned with religion due to the disasters that struck his family members, which were crowned by the death of his brother, Donne made a decision that shaped the rest of his life; he converted to Anglicanism around 1592. The resultant guilt of abandoning the Catholic faith into which he was born, as Targoff discusses, explains the poetry’s central preoccupation with “betrayals, infidelity, and impermanence; Donne’s political and social ambition, itself responsible for his apostasy, produced both the agitation and egotism that suffuses” his poetry (Targoff, 2008: 4). Nevertheless, one should not also forget the other deaths of his son, daughter, some of his friends' children, and the most important one of his wife while giving birth to their son in 1617. This preoccupation with death led Donne, the poet and the preacher, to look for ways which could grant him superiority over, and immunity against, the horrible reality of death. Donne’s imagination, his philosophy as well as his ego equipped him with the necessary tools to activate and ridicule death, and hence take his revenge on death and its ensuing decay.

This modest research poses a practical model to examine the possible readings of the Quranic text. This can be carried out by the analysis of the words in the sacred text and their grammatical structures according to the data of language as well as the context of the speech itself, whether it is the internal context of verbal evidence or other grammatical structures such as predication of increasing, deletion, preceding, etc. This analysis of the text shows also other linguistic features such as definiteness and articles and other related linguistic features. Regarding the external context, it includes the circumstances of the theme which the text is dealing with. This study introduces an analysis of a small section of the Quranic text from the verse of Surah (The Ants). This Surah includes a discourse addressed to her at the time of the prophet Sulaiman’s presence while she was advising her people or ordering them to careful of falling as victims under the feet of Sulaiman\'s Army, peace be upon him, in which Sulaiman\'s army was a very great one. The analysis was based on the linguistic data available in the text without details in hypotheses and theories that have been adopted by the researcher. This has provided us with metaphorical expressions the Quranic text which was produced by that simple creature called (ant). According to the research, these words have totally included three images : the first image represents the image of the ant as a leader that impose her authority on the audiences, they are all people obedient to her in everything she says or orders; she is the Queen that rules over the kingdom of ants, both males and females. The second image represents the ant as a wise ant who speaks the wisdom in the difficult situations in which the wisdom is rare and the opinion is weak. This can be deduced from the tone of her discourse, her farsightedness and her capacity to give information as well as the great knowledge in the course of events encompass which may lead to expected events. Regarding the third image, it represents the image of the female ant, which is not subject in her kingdom to the authority of male as the nature of life in their houses are under power of female, while the role of the male is only to serve and protect the kingdom. On the other hand, we find this female as queen that is obedient and praising the human male ruler who has the control to the kingdoms of other creatures by the feet of his soldiers who do not pay attention to these creatures.

Some critics have tried to meticulously read the deconstructive text to examine its intellectual origins, and to be acquainted with its most prominent critical gaps stored by its linguistic fabric . These readings started from critical rational-standardized reverences that contrasts the intellectual foundations inaugurated by deconstruction . So, the research tried to stay away from these standardized readings and read deconstruction differently in harmony with its critical treaties that blew up the intellectual origins to concentrate around mind and its rational frameworks that produced Western modernity.
The proposed reading is the starting inward and borrowing the strategy of deconstruction to read deconstruction, i.e. positioning within the deconstructive text and strikes it from within, read its intellectual references and linguistic patterns, and disclose its intellectual contradictions and gaps that undergo its Linguistic Pattern .

Science of sounds is regarded as one of those sciences that the study of which is significantly developed after is witnessed a long period of stagnation. This science has become to represent the developed manifestation of Modern Linguistics more than any other branch thereof.
This development is reflected through it various methodologies of research, different devices and advanced equipments used in this field. Orientalist endeavors have been directed to study Arabic language at all phonetic, morphological, grammatical and denotative levels. Using Arabic language by orientalists as a means to understand the Hebrew of Torah in the 16th century and the beginning of 17th century helped to elevate Arabic language to move ahead.
In the 17th and 18th centuries, European Linguists were concerned with the international hierarchical structure of languages; and this in fact influenced their orientations to study Arabic and some other Semitic languages such as Hebrew. They focused on the study of those two languages which belong to the ancient centuries. There was a drastic development in the field of linguistic studies in Europe in the 17th century, specifically in the field of Indo-European languages when Franz Bob made a comparison among the morphological systems of verbs in Sanskrit, Persian, Germanic and Greek languages. Accordingly, this has made its own influence in the context of Semitic languages study by Orientalists especially after the discovery of many Assyrian, Aramaic and old Southern Arabic transcripts .This discovery widened the historical depth of comparison.
Researchers are concerned with the study of standard language by itself and they considered accents branching from the standard language as erroneous types but in the 19th century, after scientists discovered that rural accents contain the forms of structure in the standard language. Orientalists spent massive efforts to record the various accents of Arabic language.

Russia was able to expand its influence to the northwest coast of the pacific Ocean after its success in the Beiring campaign in 1744 and the following campaigns, especially that of the merchant and explorer Shilkhof. That expansion was only possible after the establishment of the Russian -American company by the act of Caesar Bafil the first in 1799 which awarded the Russian merchants the right of monopoly of Fur trade in the northwest coast and prevented their competitors of the other foreign companies there.. According to that act, the company became responsible for applying Russian law in a way that achieved Russian interests and maintained areas of influence in the northwest Coast of the Pacific Ocean. The research aims to shed light on the efforts of President Jimmy Carter's administration to settle the Cypriot issue between 1977 – 1980, President Carter tried to find a final solution to the Cyprus issue. The US administration focused on the Cyprus issue because it is related to Greece and Turkey, both being US allies in NATO. The attention of the US administration began via supporting the agreement signed in early 1977 between Cypriot President Makarios and Turkish Cypriot leader "Raoof Denktash," the agreement included four principles to settle the Cyprus issue. In addition, president Carter sent a presidential delegate to contribute to reach a quick and fair settlement to the Cyprus issue. The US administration has supported all of the negotiations that have been made in Nicosia, Geneva, Vienna and New York, not to mention that it has supported the efforts of Waldheim, Secretary-General of the United Nations, who was also actively seeking to reach a settlement to the Cyprus issue to achieve peace and stability in the region.

Slavery is an enduring issue in the history of nations. It is primarily a social issue, where the human being is dominated and deprived of his basic human rights. It is practiced not only in uncivilized societies, but also, until recently, by many civilized cultures as well.
The study sheds light on the origins of slavery and the factors that led to its emergence during the feudal period in Europe as well as its use after the discovery and colonization of the Americas. It consists of three parts: the first part deals with the emergence of the system and the second addresses the development of this system in Europe and the United States. The third part deals with its eradication after the French revolution and the American civil war.

There are many important junctures in the contemporary history of Iran; perhaps in the forefront is the issue of women's education. Over the country's history education was limited to males, and by virtue of the social and religious nature of the Iranian society that imposed sex segregation, and banned a woman going out of her home and her work or her education in the formal scientific institutions.
But because of the emergence of an educated, enlightened class who was educated in European universities and took it upon themselves to bring up a generation capable of absorbing and keeping up with the course of scientific development prevalent in Europe. They were concerned about the fate and education of women, and tried to pick them up from their miserable reality. They strived to do that through the establishment of schools and women's associations and newspapers.
Thus, the years after the Constitutional Movement since 1911 have witnessed a big leap in the area of opening schools, particularly after the issuance of compulsory education law in 1911, and the subsequent important measures in terms of education.
During and after the First World War, Iran also experienced the opening of a large number of schools teaching females and they introduced new subjects focusing on applied and pure science, such as the science of astronomy, mathematics, arithmetic, and European languages, such as French and English, and this is evidence the vulnerability of Iran intellectual renaissance witnessed by Europe at the time

So I am planning to address this problem in our curriculum through discussing some of the issues in the Prophet’s biography that should attract the attention of scholars. The Holy Quran shed light on important and significant aspects of the Prophet’s biography and the Quranic approach is to be followed for us to learn from and follow the Prophet.
