Abstract
Four complexes of ionic zinc (II) and cadmium (II) were prepared with ibuprofen ligand (HIbu) and mefenamic acid (Hmef) in the basic medium forming complexes with the formula [M(Ibu)2] and [M(mef)2] where (M=Cd or Zn) Ibu and mef ligands coordinated bi-dental chelate formation to form a tetrahedral shape around the central ion, and the biological activity of the prepared complexes against Bacterium was assessed. The prepared complexes were characterized using infrared spectroscopy, proton and carbon nuclear magnetic resonance, and molar conductivity. Staphylococcus aurous, and the results showed that the produced complexes' activity increased with increasing concentration. Also, the cadmium (II) complexes had greater activity than the zinc complexes (II).
