About the Journal
Description
The Kirkuk Journal of Medical Sciences is a recent rebranding of the Journal of Kirkuk Medical College. It operates as an open-access journal, allowing unrestricted access to all content without any associated costs for users or their institutions. Users have the freedom to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to full-text articles, or utilize them for any lawful purpose, all without the need for prior permission from the publisher or author. This adherence to the BOAI definition of open access ensures accessibility and sharing of knowledge.
The journal, based at the University of Kirkuk in Kirkuk City, Iraq, is published twice a year by the University of Kirkuk College of Medicine. It was initially established in 2013 as the Journal of Kirkuk Medical College, and in the spring of 2021, it underwent a name change. To maintain originality and prevent plagiarism, the journal employs iThenticate software to assess the uniqueness of submitted manuscripts. Additionally, a double-blind peer-review system is in place to ensure the publication maintains a high standard of quality. The journal welcomes original articles, review papers, and case reports within the field of medical sciences.
It is important to note that the journal does not receive financial support from any governmental or non-governmental organization.
