About the Journal

Description

A peer-reviewed, semi-annual scientific journal published by the College of Law at Sumer University, specializing in various branches of legal science. Submissions are reviewed and evaluated by accredited referees renowned for their expertise in their respective fields. The journal does not publish research that does not adhere to established scientific research methodologies. The journal aims to provide a free and open academic space that combines originality and contemporary relevance by encouraging researchers and academics to contribute rigorous scholarly work characterized by precise methodology and objective analysis, keeping pace with legislative and judicial developments both locally and internationally. The journal strives to support legal research by adhering to rigorous scientific publishing standards and meticulous academic peer review, ensuring the quality of published research and enhancing confidence in its scholarly content. It also places particular emphasis on comparative and analytical studies that contribute to the development of legal thought and the development of scientific solutions to contemporary legal challenges. Furthermore, it supports young researchers and opens new academic horizons for them. Based on its belief in the role of legal research in serving justice and building a state of law and institutions, Sumer Journal of Legal Sciences seeks to be a knowledge bridge linking legal theory and practical application, and to form a reliable scientific reference for researchers, decision-makers and those interested in legal affairs.

Journal Scope

The scope of the Sumer Journal of Legal Sciences is to publish original and specialized scholarly research and studies in various branches of legal science, contributing to the development of legal knowledge and the promotion of rigorous scientific research. The journal specifically covers the following topics: 1- Public law in its various branches, particularly constitutional law, administrative law, international law, and criminal law. 2- Private law, including civil law, commercial law, private international law, and studies related to Islamic and comparative jurisprudence.

Open Access Policy

Open access to the \"Sumer Journal of Legal Sciences\" means that all research and scholarly content published in the journal is freely available to readers, researchers, and interested parties without any cost or restrictions. This facilitates access to legal knowledge and promotes the dissemination of scientific benefit, aligning with the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education\'s directives to support scientific research. It allows everyone to download and read articles freely. At the same time, within the framework of its open access policy, the journal is committed to preserving the intellectual property rights of authors and respecting their moral rights. It also ensures the quality of content by subjecting all research to rigorous peer review, thus achieving a balance between freedom of access to knowledge and maintaining established academic standards.
