Shyness in Female College Students And its relation to some Variables

Abstract

The human being is a social being and human communication is a fundamental axis in the process of social interaction, and the characteristic of social shyness grows through the interaction of the individual with his environment. Identifying the level of shyness among university students, and identifying the differences in shyness among university students according to specialization (scientific, humanities). In order to achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher prepared a measure of shyness based on Zimbardo's theory, and the components thathe identified are the(behavioral, cognitive, and emotionalcomponents). Thevalidity and reliability were calculated using the Cronbach's alpha method, reaching (0.94), and the scale in its final form consisted of (38) items valid for measuring shyness. The researcher applied the scale to a research sample of (160) female students from two majors scientific, humanities). The researcher reached some conclusions, the most important of which are: The individuals in the research sample do not have , and there is no statistically significant difference in shyness between female students in scientific and humanities colleges.

ان الانسان كائن إجتماعي والإتصال الإنساني يعد محولإالعافتلاةيلمعيفًايساسأًارجتماعي وسمة الخجل الاجتماعي تنمو من خلال تفاعل الفرد مع بيئته، وهدف البحث الى التعرف على مستوى الخجل لدى طالبات الجامعة، والتعرف على الفروق في الخجل لدى طالبات الجامعة على وفق التخصص:ًاقيقحتو.)يناسنإ،يملع(لأهداف البحث أعدتالباحثة مقياس الخجل بإعتماد نظرية (زيمباردو) والمكونات التي حددها هي المكون (السلوكي، المعرفي، الانفعالي) وتم حساب الصدق الظاهري وحساب الثبات بطريقة الفا كرونباخ إذ بلغ (49.0) وتكون المقياس بصورته النهائية من (83) فقرة صالحة لقياس الخجل. طبقت الباحثة المقياس على عينة البحثالبالغة عددها (164) طالبة ومن التخصصين (علمي، إنساني) وتوصلت الباحثة إلى بعض النتائج أهمها:ان أفراد عينة البحث لا يوجد لديهم خجل عالي ولا يوجد هنالك فرق دال إحصًايئافي الخجل بين طالبات الكليات العلمية والإنسانية.

The Middle East and Contemporary Geostrategic Shifts: A Geopolitical Study

Abstract

This research focuses on the contemporary geostrategic transformations that afflicted the countries of the Middle East, with a focus on the countries of the Arab East, after the collapse of the system of international relations, and the emergence of the unipolar system led by the United States of America. After the events of September 11 and the events that followed, especially the occupation of Iraq in 2003, the study area witnessed a group of geopolitical variables andthe emergence of dangerous phenomenathat threatened the state structure in the countries of the Middle East; the most notably are the phenomenon of terrorism, cross-border armed groups, sectarian polarization, the phenomenon of migration and the internal and the external displacement and the serious consequences that resulted from it, such as demographic change and the emergence of a failed state, which has become a threat to national and regional security in the region. One of the results of this security vacuum was the rise of active regional powers on the scene to fill the geopolitical vacuum, the change in the equation of the Arab Israeli conflict, and the emergence of plans aimed at redrawing the political map of the countries of the region based on ethnic and sectarian division.

Civilizational Manifestations in the City of Astrabath in the Sixth Century AH

Abstract

The current study is concerned with presenting a descriptive study of the history of the city of Astrabath in the sixth century AH. The problem that the research tried to answer is represented in the investigation of historical news, and the study of the most prominent cultural aspects which characterizing that city. The research also aims to reach the geographical location of that city, its name and its suburbs. The importance of the research lies in the knowledge of everything related to the role of the civilization of Astrabath, as well as tracing the entry of the Arabs to it, so that it became a cultural, economic and scientific center and its historical role in the sixth century AH. The research reminde us with the scientific role of the city of Astarbath in the fields of Qur’anic sciences and to the sciences of hadith, jurisprudence, the other sciences such as history, dialectics, medicine, prose, rhetoric, and systems. The study came out with several conclusions, the most important of which is that the city of Astrapaz was a military theater for political conflict, in addition to its great cultural role in all the popular sciences at the time, and it was a destination for scholars and jurists due to the popularity of its scientific and literary status.

Adaptive Response and its relation to Cognitive Appraisal among Secondary School Students

Abstract

The current research's problem includes the impact of cognitive reappraisal and reformulate on self-experience of emotional response and its negative feelings and the activity of cognitive reappraisal in changing response. The aim of this research is to detect the relation between adaptive response and cognitive reappraisal upon students of secondary school, and to find differences in gender and stage. The sample contained male and female student for the year(2022-2023) and consists of (480) students (240) male and (240) female in the karkh education/ 1 To achieve this aims researcher used descriptive method and to measure the two variables researcher built a scale for adaptive response according to theory of compound emotion (Barrett,2015) contains (31) items , and the scale of cognitive reappraisal according to the theory of (Lazarus,1991) contains (30) items credit to scientific steps for building psychometric properties , validity , virtual validity by presenting them to a number of experts,and the constructive validity in the light of relation between item and total grade. Reliability was lasted by Vaccronbach coefficient. After treating data by (SPSS), researcher found that students have adaptive response and cognitive reappraisal,and there is assign efficient relation between adaptive response and cognitive reappraisal, and there are significant difference in cognitive appraisal according to grade in favor of the fifth grade at (0.05). Researcher recommends the importance of adaptive response and reappraisal for their relation with (IQ), school performance, social skills, adaptive behavior, and make a comparison studies to detect adaptive response and cognitive reappraisal upon other school students and college students that help to adapt with academic atmosphere, coping with problems, and reduce stress.

تتضمن مشكلة البحث الحالي تأثير إعادة التقييم وإعادة صياغة أفكار الفرد على التجربة الذاتية للإستجابة العاطفية وما يصاحبها من مشاعر سلبية، وكذلك مدى فاعلية إعادة التقييم المعرفي في تغيير نمط الإستجابة .ويهدفالبحث الحاليالى التعرف على العلاقة بينالإستجابة التكيفيةوإعادة التقييم المعرفيلدى طلبة المرحلة الإعدادية ومعرفة الفروق وفق متغير الجنس والصف الدراسي للمرحلة الإعدادية. فقد تم تحديد عينة البحث الحالي لتشمل طلاب وطالبات المرحلة الإعدادية لتربية الكرخ الأولى للعام الدراسي (2022–(2023إذ تكونت عينة البحث من (480) طالب وطالبة، (240) طالب و(240) طالبة. ولتحقيق أهداف البحث استعمل الباحث المنهج الوصفي، ولغرض قياس متغيري البحث بنى الباحث مقياس لحساب الإستجابة التكيفية على ضوء مفاهيمنظرية العاطفة المركبة لباريت(Barret,2015)ويتألف المقياس من (31) فقرةومقياس إعادة التقييم المعرفي. أعد الباادامتعإسايقملاىنبوثحعلى نظرية لازروس(Lazarus, 1991 )ويتكونمن (30) فقرةوعلى وفق الخطوات العلمية لبناء المقاييس النفسية والاجتماعية. وبعد التحقق من الخصائص السايكومترية من الصدق، الصدق الظاهري إذ تم عرضه على مجموعة من الخبراء ذوي الاختصاص، وصدق البناء في ضوء ارتباط درجة الفقرة بالدرجة الكلية للمقياس وتم حساب الثبات بطريقة معامل الفاكرونبخ .توصل الباحث بعدمعالجةالبياناتإحيئاصاعن طريقة الحقيبة الإحصائية الإجتماعية (SPSS)إلى النتائج الآتية:ان طلبة المرحلة الإعدادية لعينة البحثالحاليلديهم الإستجابة التكيفية، وان طلبة المرحلةالإعدادية لعينة البحثالحاليلديهم إعادة التقييم المعرفيبمستوى مرتفع، وهناك علاقة طردية دالة بين الإستجابة التكيفية وإعادة التقييم المعرفي،وكذلك يوجد فروقذاتدلالة إحصائيةفي إعادةالتقييم المعرفي حسب الصف لصالح الصف الخامسالإعدادي عند مستوى الدلالة (0.05). وأوصى الباحث بضرورة الإهتمام بمفهوم الإستجابة التكيفية وإعادة التقييم المعرفي لإرتباطها بمعدلات الذكاء والأداء الدراسي والمهارات الإجتماعية والسلوك التكيفي والسلوك لسنعفشكللةنراقمتاساردءارجإاضيأو،ايعامتجإلوبقملاوك الإستجابة التكيفية وإعادة التقييم المعرفي لدى التلاميذ والطلبة وطلبة الجامعة في التكيف مع الجو المدرسي أو الجامعي للتجاوز وحل المشكلات والتحكم بالسلوك وخفض التوتر والضبط النفسي.

The Effect of Barman's Model on acquiring the ConceptsofFiqh of Worship among Students of Departments of Qur'anic Sciences

Abstract

The current research seeks to identify the impact of Barman's model on acquisition of the concepts of jurisprudence of worship among students of the departments of Qur'anic sciences. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher relied on the experimental method through a design with partial control by relying on two experimental groups receiving teaching by using the Barman model and acontrol groupreceives teaching through the normal method. After applying the experiment, the study reached the following results:Students of the Department of Qur’anic Sciences in general need educational programs linked to the curriculum and built on scientific foundations, according to their needs and problems (psychological, cognitive, and social), as well as their age or academic stage. The program followed in our colleges, according to the results of the research, is one of the methods that cannot be dispensed with and can give good results if it is employed in a modern manner through pre-prepared teaching plans that employ all the diverse teaching capabilities in the educational situation.

يسعى البحث الحالي الى التعرف على اثر انموذج بارمان في اكتساب مفاهيم مادة فقه العباداتلدى طلبة اقسام علوم القرآن،ومن اجل تحقيق اهداف البحث فقد إعتمدت الباحثة المنهج التجريبي من خلال تصميم ذو ضبط جزئي من خلال إعتمادمجموعتين:تجريبية تتلقى التدريس بإستعمال انموذج بارمان،ومجموعة ضابطة تتلقى التدريس من خلال الطريقة العادية،ومن اجل اجراء التجربة فقد تم اجراء مجموعة من ًلاضفثحبلاعوضومبةقلاعاهلتاريغتميفنيتعومجملالاكنيبتاؤفاكتلا عن بناء اختبار لقياس اكتساب المفاهيم،وبعد تطبيق التجربة توصلت الدراسة الى النتائج التالية :اثر انموذج بارمانفي اكتساب المفاهيم في مادة فقه العبادات من خلال تعزيز الجوانب المعرفية المتعددة لدى الطلبة.إن طلبة قسم علوم القرآن على العموم بحاجة إلى برامج تعليمية مرتبطة بالمنهج الدراسي ومبنية على أسس علمية،وًاقفلحاجاتهم ومشكلاتهم (النفسية والمعرفية والاجتماعية)فضلا عن المرحلة العمرية أو الدراسية.إن البرنامج المتبع في كلياتنا وبحسب النتائج التي أسفرت عنها نتائج البحث هي من الطرائق التي لا يمكن الإستغناء عنها ويمكن أن تعطي نتائج جيدة إذا تمتوظيفها بشكل حديث من خلال الخطط التدريسية المعدة ًفلساالتي توظف كل الإمكانات التدريسية المتنوعة في الموقف التعليمي.

Deception in Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s Trials

Abstract

Deception is defined as a linguistic and non-linguistic behavior that is used in interaction in order to make the addressees believe what is believed to be false or lack evidence.McCornack (1992) classifies deception into four manipulative strategies (i.e., fabrication, distortion, equivocation and concealment), other scholars argue that deception encompasses the strategies of “fabrication (outright lying), equivocation (being vague and ambiguous), or concealment (with holding relevant information)Thus, the present study investigates the deception strategies and motives that are used by Johnny Depp and Amber Heard during their defamation trials. Qualitative and quantitative methods are employed when analyzing the data in question. The first method is achieved via usingBuller&Burgoon’s (2004) strategies of deception and Ekman’s (1995) motives of deception, while the second method is achieved via counting frequencies and percentages. It is found that the strategies of fabrication and equivocation are frequently used by Johnny Depp, while the strategies of fabrication and concealment are frequently used by Amber Heard. It is concluded that deception can be achieved via using the strategy of fabrication in order to avoid embarrassment, get rid of an awkward situation and get the admiration of others.

Abstract

يعرف الخداع على انه تصرف لغوي وغير لغويويستعمل فيالمحادثات لجعلالمتلقي يصدق بما هو غير حقيقي.يصنف ماكورناك (1992) الخداع إلى أربع استراتيجيات تلاعبية:(التلفيق والتشويه والمراوغة والإخفاء)، يرى باحثون آخرون أن الخداع يشمل استراتيجيات \"التلفيق (الكذب الصريح)، والمراوغة (أن تكون غامضة وملتبسة)، أو الإخفاء (مع الإحتفاظ بالمعلومات ذات الصلة)ءانبوعلى هذه الحقيقة، قامت الدراسة الحالية بدراسة استراتيجيات ودوافع الخداع المستعمل من قبل جوني ديب و آمبر هيرد اثناء محاكمة التشهير التي جرت بينهماحيث استعملتطريقة البحث النوعية والكمية لتحليل البيانات. وقد تحققت الطريقة الاولى من خلال إستعمالموديلباركون وبولير (2002) لإستراتيجيات الخداع ومودلإكماان (1991). وقد توصلت الدراسة الى إستراتيجيات التلفيق والغموض هي الأكثرإستلاامعمن قبل جوني ديب بينما استراتيجيات التلفيق والإخفاء هي الأكثر إستلاامعمن قبل آمبر هيرد. من بين النتائج التي توصلت لها الدراسة هيأن الخداع يتحقق باستعمالاستراتيجية التلفيق من أجل تجنب الخجـل والتخلص من الموقف المحرج والحصول علىتقدير الآخرين.

Salience and Erasure in Environmental Advertisements: An Ecolinguistics Study

Abstract

Ecolinguisticsis a twofold field in which ecology and language are its two major concerns. That is, this field is concerned with the way through which our thoughts, ideologies and the like influence the environment. The present study aims at analyzing (6) constructive and destructive environmental advertisements to find out how the techniques of erasure and salience operate in these types of advertisements. It studies the linguistic expressions that achieve these techniques in the constructive and destructive advertisements. The qualitative and quantitative methods are exploited in the current study. Analyzing (6) constructive and destructive environmental advertisements in accordance with Stibbe’s (2015) model of salience and erasure accomplishes the qualitative approach whereas accounting the frequencies and percentages of salience and erasure occurrences in constructive and destructive environmental advertisements accomplishes the quantitative approach. The model of the analysis used in the present study is of Stibbe’s(2015) theory of erasure and salience. The main finding shows that the technique of salience is employed more frequently in constructive advertisements than that of erasure, whereas the same techniques are equally used in destructive advertisements. The main conclusion of the present study reads that the technique of salience is appropriate for constructive advertisements since it highlights the important aspects of the environmental advertisements.

أن علم اللغة البيئي هو مجال ذو شقين، حيث تشكل البيئة واللغة جانبينرئيسيين فيه،أي أن هذا المجال يهتم بالطريقة التي تؤثر بها أفكارنا وأيديولوجياتنا وما شابه ذلك على البيئة. تهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى تحليل (6) إعلانات بيئية بناءة وهدامة لمعرفة كيفية عمل تقنيات المحو والبروزفي هذا النوع من الإعلاناتكماويدرس التعابير اللغوية التي تحقق هذه التقنيات في الإعلانات البناءة والهدامةويتم استغلال الأساليب النوعية والكمية في الدراسة الحالية. إن تحليل (6) إعلانات بيئية بناءة وهدامة وفقاً لنموذجStibbe (2015) للمحو والبروزيحقق النهج النوعي، في حين أن حساب التكرارات والنسب المئوية لحدوث المحو والبروز في الإعلانات البيئية البناءة والهدامة ينجز النهج الكمي. أن نموذج التحليل المستخدم في هذه الدراسة هو نظرية ستيبي (2212) حول المحو والبروز. وتبين النتيجة الرئيسية أن أسلوب البروز يستخدم بشكل متكرر في الإعلانات البناءة أكثر من أسلوب المحو، في حين أن نفس الأساليب تستخدم بالتساوي في الإعلانات الهدامة. الاستنتاج الرئيسي للدراسة الحالية هو أن اسلوب البروز مناسب للاعلانات البناءة لانه يسلط الضوء على الجوانب الهامة للاعلانات البيئية.

The Degree to which Teachers of the Second Cycle of Basic Education apply the Dimensions of Educational Security from their Perspective

Abstract

Recently, many undesirable behaviors have spread in our daily life in society, whether from the teacher to his students or from the students among themselves as a result of the absence of educational security and the decline in the role of socialization institutions in general and the school in particular in training students on values. Positive social, Thus, the study was descriptive. Theory by adopting information about educational security and the nature of teachers’ practice thereof. The descriptive analytical approach was used and a questionnaire was administered to (48) male andfemale teachers at this stage. Therefore, the aim of the current research is to identify the degree to which teachers practice the dimensions of educational security, based on the theoretical framework and previous studies prepared in this regard, and accordingly, the curriculum was used, it came in first place with an arithmetic average of (2.26and after education Dialogue learners ranked second with a arithmetical average of (2.19(while it came after providing a positive, supportive place for learners in the third and final rank with a low arithmetical average of (1.56). There were differences in the average scores of male and female sample members applying the dimensions of educational security in favor of female teachers in the three dimensions where the arithmetic mean for the dimension of using modern technologies is (48.40), for the dimension of educating learners in dialogue (75.35), and for the dimension of providing a positive, supportive place for learners (38.33). Differences were found. In the teachers’ scores on the questionnaire in favor of a diploma. qualification or above in the three dimensions, there were no differences in the teachers’ scores on the questionnaire in favor of 10 years of experience or more in the three dimensions.

لقد إنتشر في الآونة الأخيرة بحياتنا اليومية العديد من السلوكيات غير المرغوبة في المجتمع سواء من المعلم على تلاميذه أو من التلاميذ فيما بينهم نتيجة لغياب الأمن التربوي وتراجع دور مؤسسات التنشئة الإمومعةيعامتجصوصخةسردملاواا في تدريب التلاميذ على القيم الإهكلذلةيباجيلإاةيعامتجدف البحث الحاليالى التعرف على درجة تطبيق المعلمين بهذه المرحلة لأبعاد الأمن التربوي وذلك من وجهة نظرهم بالإءانبو،ددصلااذهيفةدعملاةقباسلاتاساردلاويرظنلابناجلاىلعدامتععليه تم إستعمالالمنهج الوصفي التحليلي وتم توجيه إستبيان لـ(81ملعم)ا ومعلمة بهذه المرحلة، وبذلك الدراسة كانت وصفية نظرية من خلال إعتماد المعلومات حول الأمن التربوي وطبيعة ممارسة المعلمين لذلك.وتوصل البحث الى النتائج الآتية:بأن ب عد إستعمالالمعلمين للتقنيات الحديثة في التعليم جاء في المرتبة الأولى بمتوسط حسابي بلغ(8282 )و ب عد تربية المتعلمين على الحوار بالمرتبة الثانية بمتوسط حسابي بلغ(8282 )بينما جاء ب عد توفير المكان الإيجابي الداعم للتلاميذبالمرتبة الثالثة والأخيرة بمتوسط حسابي منخفض بلغ (82.2 .)ووجدتفروق في متوسطات درجات أفراد العينة من الذكور والإناث بتطبيق أبعاد الأمن التربوي لصالح المعلمات الإناث في الأبعاد الثلاث حيث بلغ المتوسط الحسابي بب عد إستعمالالتقنيات الحديثة (81280) وبب عد تربية المتعلمين على الحوار(7.22.) وبب عد توفير المكان الإيجابي الداعم للتلاميذ(21222).ووجدتفروق في درجات المعلمين على الإستبيان لصالح مؤهل الدبلوم وما فوق في الأبعاد الثلاث ولم توجد فروق في درجات المعلمين على الإستبيان لصالح 10 سنوات خبرة فأكثر في الابعاد الثلاث.
