The research aims to study the syntactic level and the semantic structure level in the
story of Taloot and Goliath in the Holy Qur’an to demonstrate the graphic effect that
these two levels perform in revealing the deep meanings of the text. Dealing with the
Qur’anic text and trying to understand it correctly differs from other linguistic texts
because of its distinctive linguistic value and its value in people’s hearts. The Holy
Qur’an has a wonderful harmony between its words and its images, giving a great
importance to the semantic signs, which has a close relationship in revealing the meaning
and arriving at a correct reading consistent with the linguistic signs. The Qur’an has
distinctively used the interrogative methods and its diverse tools in using the real
interrogatives or the metaphorical ones, which gives the text semantic dimensions which
contributes in defining the meaning and expressing it in a way gives the text a cognitive
value that enlightens the mind of the recipient. It is known that semantic topics at their
different levels are among the most important linguistic topics that have a close
relationship in highlighting the meanings in the Qur’anic verses and explaining them
accurately, without which it would not be possible to get a harmonious and acceptable
guidance or a correct reading of the Qur’anic texts. The importance of context has
emerged through verbal and moral clues inside or outside the text, such as the context
of the situation and position, or the elements of time, place, the addressee, and the
speaker related to it in interpreting the text, stating the purposes of the speech, and
making the recipient understand a meaning that would not have existed without the
significance of the context.

The objective of the current research is to measure the level of phobias from the emerging
corona virus (Covid-19) among individuals in the Arab environment in both United Arab
Emirates and Iraq. The researchers used the descriptive analytical approach on a sample
consisting of (561) participants (volunteers); (409) from Iraq (73%) and (159) from United
Arab Emirates (27%) of the total sample, (63%) females, and (37%) males. The Corona virus
phobia scale (prepared by researchers) was applied. The scale consists of (39) items that include
three basic areas: Fear of the future (18) items, general anxiety (15) items, and obsessive
compulsive disorder (6) items.
The results indicated that (82% (of the study sample suffer from a high degree of anxiety about
infection with the Corona virus. The results indicated that there are differences in the degree of
Corona phobia between individuals in Iraq and United Arab Emirates in favor of individuals
from Iraq, who have high degree of anxiety and fear of being infected by the virus. The results
also showed that there are no significant differences in the phobia of infection with the Corona
virus that are attributed to gender, marital status, level of education, and profession. The study
recommended directing the attention of governments and various institutions in both countries
to the importance of providing health support and working to improve the level of mental health
so that individual citizens can be able to adapt to different life variables.

The current research aims to build a measure of the sensitive personality among those working with people with special needs, and then identify the statistical significance of the differences in the level of sensitive personality among those working with people with special needs according to the variables (gender, educational attainment, housing, number of years of service). A sample was formed. The research included (425) male and female employees working with special needs in government departments in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. They were chosen randomly. To prove the objectives of the research the researchers built a sensitive personality scale and extracted the psychometric properties of the scale The scale, in its final form consists of (76) items distributed across the scale’s domains The data was treated statistically, and the results indicated that the sample members are people with high sensitivity and there is a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the sample members according to the gender variable, in favor of female There is no statistically significant difference between the average scores of the sample members according to the achievement variable and there is a statistically significant difference according to the residence variable and in favor of Sulaymaniyah Governorate, there is a statistically significant difference according to the job variable and in favor of employees and there is no difference in according to the years of service variable, and in In light of the results, a set of recommendations and proposals were reached.

This study, conducted as a quantitative analysis, aims to investigate how high school teaching methods impact the writing abilities of incoming freshmen at Tishreen University's English Department in Latakia, Syria, and whether these students meet the Department's standards. To achieve this, 60 writing samples from the Composition and Comprehension 1 exam in the first semester of the 2022-2023 academic year were gathered and analyzed for linguistic and meta-discourse markers. The analysis revealed that many students struggled with constructing coherent sentences, using appropriate vocabulary, and employing academic discourse markers. These findings emphasize the importance of improving the transition between educational stages by aligning teaching practices. To facilitate a smoother transition, it is crucial to implement effective writing exercises at the high school level. Such exercises provide students with opportunities to refine their composition skills, including grammar and vocabulary usage, which are essential for success in the English Department, particularly when tasked with producing longer English texts. In conclusion, this study highlights the significance of bridging the gap between high school and university writing, emphasizing the need for enhanced teaching practices at both levels to better prepare students for academic success in higher education. Recently, there has been a great interest in ecological degradation and technological progress and its effects on the function of the natural ecosystem. These dangerous effects highlight the urgent need for eco-criticism as it presents a modern approach to analyzing and understanding literary works based on scientific evidence of ecology. Humans\' progress and control of the planet and its ecosystem cause disturbances, including the climate system. Eco-criticism challenges the concept of Anthropocene and advocates for a reshaping man\'s centered attitude. The paper analyzes climate change as slow violence resulting from extreme weather patterns represented in melting glaciers due to human activities, which lead to global floods. These patterns inappropriately impact the most vulnerable entities: the Inuit people and the white polar bears, who contribute the least to greenhouse gas emissions. The current paper shows how theatre becomes an ecological activist, engaging in performances that address the ecological crisis while emphasizing the absence of ecological justice. Chantal Bilodeau\'s Sila (2015) discusses the theme of the invisible threat of anthropogenic climate change caused by industrial progress and its insidious consequences on the indigenous people, ecosystem, and animals and calls for attention to climate justice in the global context.

Bullying still occurs in the surroundings of teenagers. Those who have experienced bullying firsthand are often aware of its damaging effects. Bullying is the most common form of hostility that takes place in schools (Anderson, 2002:53). By applying Culpeper\'s (2011) Impoliteness, in bullying passages from the movie \"Wonder,\" which is directed by Stephen Chbosky, the study intends to explain the most prevalent pragmatic strategies of impoliteness, the functions of impoliteness act, and responses towards impolite act. The purpose of this study is to examine the forms of bullying. The current study adopts a qualitative and quantitative method for analyzing five extracts by applying Culpeper\'s (2011) Impolitenessstrategies. They are analyzed into two levels; First, according to bullying behavior by Olweus’ definition of bullying behavior (1994), and second what are the pragmatic realizations of Impoliteness? Finding out that, according to the first level, there are three types of bullying behavior used in the movie, they are intention to harm, harmful outcome, and direct or indirect act. The second level includes: (1) Three types of impoliteness strategies (bald on record strategy, negative impoliteness, and off record politeness). (2) Limited functions as coercive function and entertaining function. (3) Specific responses are found in the movie. This study concludes that, according to Olweus (1994), bullying behavior can be defined into five essential components( Intention to harm, Harmful outcome, Direct or indirect acts, Repetition, and Unequal Power).

Losing a spouse is an event that changes the lives of widows forcing them to navigate a new world filled with sorrow, solitude and unknowns. Over time the way widows have been portrayed has evolved significantly mirroring shifts, in views and cultural norms. Traditionally widows have been depicted as frail and reliant in literature based on the assumption that they lack financial support following their partners passing. However this portrayal fails to acknowledge the toll of widowhood on well being and personal identity. This piece seeks to challenge stereotypes by emphasizing widows’ inner resilience, strength and potential for growth. By comparing how widows are represented in English and Arabic poetry—particularly highlighting instances where Arabic widows are shown as empowered compared to their English counterparts—this study aims to explore the journey of widowhood and question existing narratives of fragility. By showcasing widows’ strength and empowerment in works, this research offers insights, into the psychological landscapes of widows across diverse cultural settings.

The current research aims to utilize the Andrich Model, described as one of the Polytomous models, within the framework of Contemporary Measurement Theory. It focuses on differential performance based on the ability to employ test-wiseness strategies. To achieve this goal, the researcher relied on the Test-Wiseness Scale prepared by (Hamad 2010). A stratified random sample of (447) male and female students from the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades was selected. The assumptions of the Item Response Theory (IRT) were verified, including the one-dimensionality assumption. This was done through factor analysis of the test items using Principal Components Analysis (PCA) for individuals' responses to the test items. The Eigenvalue, explained variance, and cumulative explained variance for each factor were calculated. It was found that there was one factor with a meaningful interpretation for the scale, and through this assumption, the local independence assumption was also confirmed. To analyze the data of the scale items, the researcher used the Andrich Model and employed computer software (ConstructMap-4.6). The estimated item location values on the latent trait indicated that they ranged from (2.55) to (2.71) logits, with an average of (0.027) logits. This suggests that the scale covers a wide range of the measured trait, from low to high levels of ability. Furthermore, the standard error for the mean of the item difficulty estimates was (0.032), which is a low value close to zero. This indicates the accuracy of the item location estimates on the latent trait of wisdom.

August Wilson, in his play Fences, presents the father-son relationship as the character of the father stands for toxic parent. This paper investigates the intersection between attachment theory and the concept of toxic parental relationships in the play. Attachment theory divides into two sections: one is secure and the other is insecure, which divides into three patterns (avoidant, ambivalent, and disorganized). The aim of the study is to delve into the characters' attachment patterns and how they shape their interactions within the familial context. The study attempts to understand the dynamics of attachment between the protagonist, Troy Maxson, and his sons, Lyons and Cory, through an analysis of their relationship within themes of love, control, and generational trauma. Furthermore, the research examines the implications of these attachment patterns on familial conflicts and individual development. Through a nuanced exploration, it contributes to a deeper understanding of the complex interplay between attachment theory and the portrayal of toxic parental relationships in literary narratives.

Language is critical for the development of human society. It is an essential mode of communication among individuals, groups, and nations. Nowadays, an increasing number of people are learning English as a foreign or second language, with the main objective of achieving English proficiency and to communicate with others. Productive skills allow learners to express their thoughts, ideas, and opinions in English. They enable learners to participate in conversations, engage in discussions, and convey their messages effectively. Multitasking refers to the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Therefore, the current study investigates the relationship between coping with multitasking and performance in productive skills among Iraqi EFL University students. To this purpose, a sample of 360 students from different Iraqi universities (including Baghdad, Basra, and Mosul), colleges of education-English departments were selected randomly during the academic year (2022-2023) as a sample for this study. Two instruments are used to collect data: a questionnaire to measure coping with multitasking, and productive test to assess students' speaking and writing performance. A correlational analysis is conducted to examine the relationship between coping with multitasking and performance in productive skills. The findings indicate that Iraqi EFL university students possess a good level of coping with multitasking. Furthermore, the study reveals a positive correlation between coping with multitasking, and productive skills which is suggesting that students who employ these multitasking perform better in speaking and writing. The results also demonstrate that coping with multitasking significantly contribute to explaining the variation in productive skills.
