This is an analytical study of two Musnad inscriptions written in the Qatabanian dialect, which were found in the village of Hajar al-ʽAdi in Wadi Harib, where the ancient city of Maryamah is located. These two inscriptions are of a construction nature, and they reveal that the people of Maryamah city, especially the merchants residing in the cities of Dhafār and al-Raḥabah, had established and built a number of architectural structures located within the wall of Maryamah city.
The significance of these inscriptions comes from the fact that they have not been known and published, and they mention the city of Dhafār Himyar as the capital city of the Himyaritic political entity. Furthermore; Dhafār Himyar was the most important stronghold in the Central Highlands Region, and as a second of Himyar commercial cities that became since the beginning of the first century AD the headquarters of a number of commercial communities. The current study aims to identify the quality of scientific theses for graduate students in the colleges of Dhi Qar University from the viewpoint of graduate students. The research sample consisted of a group of students of postgraduate studies at Dhi Qar University and was randomly chosen, and its strength reached (100) male and female students distributed by (50) male and female students from scientific majors, and (50) male and female students from human majors for the academic year (2018-2019).
To achieve the aims of the research, the researcher adopted the Atwan scale (2011) to measure the level of quality of scientific theses for graduate students. After collecting data and statistically processing it using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (spss), the research reached the following results.
The scientific theses of graduate students in Dhi Qar University colleges are of good quality.
- There is no statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) in the quality of scientific theses for postgraduate students and according to the gender variable (male - female).
There is a difference in the quality of scientific theses for graduate students, depending on the variable of specialization
