Abstract
This article explores the intersection of technology and architecture by analyzing architectural products from a technological perspective. Based on the philosophy of technology philosopher Carl Mitcham, the study identifies four manifestations of technology: Objects, Process, Knowledge, and Volition. These manifestations define architectural technology and the relationships between their components. The research introduces five analytical terms—materials and their processing, structure and its relations, detail building, tectonic values, and formal expression—that influence the formulation of architectural products. These terms provide a framework for technologically analyzing architectural works, offering insights into how technology shapes and is shaped by architectural design.
