Abstract
This study investigates the pozzolanic activity of local fly ash and compares it with imported silica fume. The fly ash was ground to a fineness of 1200 m²/kg using a Blaine air permeability apparatus. The pozzolanic activity was evaluated according to ASTM C311 standards. The results showed that the pozzolanic activity of the local fly ash was 97%, compared to 92% for the silica fume. This indicates the potential of using locally available fly ash as an active pozzolanic material in high-performance concrete and high-strength concrete mix designs.
