The research aims to determine the level of financial technology in the Iraqi banking sector and the importance of its application to ensure the quality of services provided and its impact on increasing competition between banks. To achieve the objectives of the research, a questionnaire was used. The study included 7 banks, including two government banks and 5 private banks, relying on a sample of managers, heads of departments, division and unit officials, and employees, and the number was 147 employees in those banks. A set of conclusions has been reached, the most important of which is that the financial technologies used in banks contribute to increasing efficiency and reducing costs, thus achieving a competitive advantage, but it does not rise to the level required to keep pace with global development. Also, banks are keen to possess advanced and modern technologies and new channels that enhance the bank’s competition with other banks. In the banking sector, which is characterized by intense competition and the increase in the number of competitors to ensure that it remains competitive and achieves a competitive advantage that helps in attracting customers
