To achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher prepared a scale of academic reluctance based on the theory of (Bandora), and the scale in its final form consisted of (21) items, and the scale was applied to a research sample of (100) male and female students who were chosen in a simple random way from the research community, and after collecting the data it was processed Using the appropriate statistical means, the research reached the following results: The students do not have academic retardation and are above average, there are no statistically significant differences in the academic retardation of the research sample according to the gender variable (males-females), there are no statistically significant differences in The academic retardation of the research sample according to the variable of academic achievement (bachelor’s degree or higher, middle school or less), there are no statistically significant differences in the academic retardation of the research sample according to the interaction between academic achievement (bachelor’s degree or higher, middle school or less) and gender (males – females )
