The paper presents a comparative study of aphonetic linguistic phenomenon which is reduplication inthe Arabic and English languages. It is known that thesetwo languages belong to two different families that theArabic language belongs to the Hamito-Semitic familyand the English belongs to Indo-European family. Theresearchers collected three hundreds fifty eight examplesfor reduplication in Arabic and two hundreds threeexamples for reduplication in English. Abstract The research sheds light on one of Iraq’s contemporary figures: (Dr. Bashar Awad Ma’rouf and his efforts in interpretation and the sciences of the Qur’an), who is famous for history, hadith, and investigation. This topic dictated to me that I divide my research into an introduction, five sections, and a conclusion. The first topic: his personal and scientific life, and it contains: four demands: The second topic: His efforts in interpreting Al-Tabari from his book Jami’ al-Bayyan. The third topic: His efforts in (The Statement in the Ruling on Singing in the Qur’an). The fourth topic: A look at the interpretation of the Holy Qur’an and its schools. The fifth topic: His efforts through the Royal Aal al-Bayt Foundation for Islamic Thought. Then the conclusion included in the results I reached. .

The research aims to evaluate the textbook of Islamiceducation for sixth-grade preparatory schools in Iraq from thepoint of view of its teachers. To achieve this goal theresearcher examined as sample adult (26) school teachers ofIslamic Education and Madrsadtha in junior high school andhigh school to the Directorate of Education Rusafa second cityof Baghdad, and built a researcher questionnaire consisting of(48) items distributed on (6) areas and make sure of itssincerity and stability after its presentation to a number ofexperts.The researcher had treated its data statistically, and the resultsare:• Textbook quality standards are not available in the book ofIslamic education for sixth-grade preparatory schools in Iraq.• The area of the major weakness of the book is the content ofthe book.• The field which achieved positive high for the book is thearea of the activities.The researcher had recommended severalrecommendations, including:• The need to address and improve the Islamic Educationsixth-grade preparatory textbook by the relevant authorities,and to avoid the lack of conformity to standard good textbook.• The need to take the views of the teachers when writing thebook.The researcher suggested several proposals, including:• Work on the evaluating Islamic books for intermediate andsecondary according to standard good textbook.

The aim of this research is to investigate the use ofconventionally indirect requests by the journalists inpolitical press conferences. Being conventionally indirectis one of the politeness strategies in Brown and Levinsontheory of politeness (1978). “ Being conventionallyindirect means the use of phrases and sentences that havecontextually unambiguous meanings which are differentfrom their literal meanings’’ (Ibid.:137). It ishypothesized that journalists have become more directand less cautious in their questions. This research is acomparative study analyzing the use of conventionallyindirect questions in two different periods. The analysisconcentrates on the press conferences conducted by twoU.S. presidents , Barack Obama (2009- present) and JohnF. Kennedy (1961-1963).The material studied show thatthe use of the indirectrequests decreased significantly in the present-day pressconferences. Also examining the questions indicates thatthere are certain factors affect the choice of the indirectspeech request.
