One of the biggest threats to human health is air pollution, which significantly influences people. Due to challenges like industrial and rural locations, where sensing frequently falls short of providing sufficient information about air quality, it is challenging to collect data close to pollution sources. Government-led statically deployed stationary monitors are typically used for air quality monitoring. However, many emissions that contribute to air pollution are erratic and unpredictable. A significant problem for environmental protection will be how to monitor air pollution emissions dynamically and efficiently. It can fulfill two objectives. The first is that if the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is flying to a remotely monitored target, it can relay the detected data back to the server in real-time. This work aims to suggest an innovative mobile wireless air pollution monitoring system comprising UAVs with inexpensive air pollution sensors that transmit data over Long Range (LoRa). The outcomes also demonstrated that LoRa Radio transmitter sx1278 could transmit data for distances up to 5km in urban areas. The system was tested successfully at two sites in the Ewairij industrial area south of Baghdad, and the data was received at the base station from the sensor Node, which is carried by the drone during its flight for a distance of 1.5 km and height of 20 meters, round trip. As a result, the industrial areas were classified according to the Air Quality Index (AQI) between satisfactory to moderate according to gas concentrations. The highest gas carbon monoxide (CO) concentration increase was close to dangerous in both sites, as it recorded 9.75μg/m3 in site#1 and 7.75μg/m3 in site#2. In conclusion, the AQI did not reach a poor level in these tested areas.

This paper introduces an approach that capitalizes on the retimed delay concept to enhance adaptive filters' operational efficiency. In particular, it introduces an adaptive filter configuration with minimal critical path delay. The adaptive filters, namely Least Mean Square (LMS), Recursive Least Square (RLS), and Affine Projection (AP) have been meticulously designed through the utilization of the Xilinx System Generator (XSG). The approach is based on a systolic architecture, which aims to reduce the critical path delay by minimizing the number of processing elements, including adders and multipliers, in each iterative process. Notably, the critical path of the proposed filters has been successfully reduced to a single multiplier. Moreover, the non-restoring division algorithm has been employed to execute division operations within the FPGA for the purposes of weight updates in the equations of RLS and AP filters. The performance of the proposed filters was evaluated using many filter design metrics, including SNR, power consumption, steady-state MSE, convergence speed, and complexity. The improvement in SNR was 4.3%, 8.2%, and 10% for RDLMS, RDRLS, and RDAP filters, respectively. The power consumption was reduced by about 40.5%, 28.6%, and 5.9% for RDLMS, RDRLS, and RDAP filters. Moreover, the results show significant improvement in the convergence speed. The proposed filters can efficiently remove PLI noise from ECG signals with high speed and low power consumption at the cost increase in complexity, but they are still implementable on the FPGA platform. The proposed filters were implemented using the Spartan-6 xc6slx16-2csg324 FPGA.

The performance and reliability of a free-space optical (FSO) communication system can be greatly increased using various methods. The primary goal of each technique is to reduce the effect of disturbances that lead to intensity or phase fluctuations in the system's receiver. Recent issues include increased data consumption and a crowded radio frequency spectrum, where free-space optical communication (FSOC) has changed the way people share information in a big way. In place of wired communication systems, it is possible to transport voice, video, and data effectively through air. High speed, cost savings, small buildings, low power consumption, energy economy, maximum transfer capacity, and adaptability are some of the main advantages of FSOC. Repair downtime can be reduced because of the quick advancement of high-speed connection technology. It is also now possible to quickly establish a backup network in an emergency or crisis. The design of FSO systems for two types of digital modulation techniques is the primary focus of this work. An examination of the FSO link's performance in various channel conditions using various modulation techniques is conducted. This analytical mechanism can aid a modulation strategy for various channel conditions. The results indicated that PSK modification is stronger against atmospheric turbulence than ASK modification in terms of quality factor and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). In addition, the values of received power, quality factor, and signal-to-noise ratio were higher in the case of atmospheric turbulence during rain than in the case of fog, followed by dust conditions. The systems can operate using adaptive optics and evaluate the system's performance in the presence of atmospheric turbulence in terms of signal quality, received power, and signal-to-noise ratio.

Data security is vital if transferred over a wireless network or stored on a personal computer. The essential properties of chaos, such as initial state sensitivity and unpredictability, make it a crucial candidate for encryption applications. This paper proposes a 3D chaotic map and a cascaded S-Box that can be combined to get a high-efficiency and complex cryptographic algorithm. The first stage is ciphering using a 3D cat map, the second stage is an S-box based on a 3D Henon map, and the third stage is another ciphering stage using a 3D Henon map. This study combines various encryption techniques, including cipher algorithms and substitution boxes, with the OFDM system to establish a secure image transmission over a Rayleigh fading channel. BPSK modulation is used to ensure the simplicity of the proposed system. Three grey images are used, Lena, the camera-man, and Pepper, for testing and comparing with previous works. Security analysis is performed to evaluate the quality and security of the encryption process. For image transmission evaluation, the PSNR and BER are utilized. According to the statistical results, the proposed image encryption scheme is secure and efficient. The comparison with the previous studies shows that this system is competitive with previous works.

People need a communication channel and a way to communicate with a person or group. Deaf people communicate with others through sign language. The remarkable and rapid development in image and video recognition systems has made researchers use this development to solve many problems, including sign language for the deaf, and reduce their suffering in communicating with ordinary people. This work aims to use and apply machine learning technology to build an automatic recognition system for Arabic Sign Language (ArSL). In this work, images of ArSL characters were recognized using four classification techniques (Naïve Bayes (NB), Decision Trees (DTs), and Adaptive Boosting), and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN)) with the Python library and using two feature extraction algorithms (PCA & LDA). Data pre-processing steps, including grayscale conversion, Gaussian blur, histogram equalization, and resizing, are applied to enhance the data\'s suitability for training and testing. The work was tested with five experiments chosen with multiple ratios for training and test data. The first training is 90%, the second training is 80% of the data, the third is 75%, the fourth is 70%, and the last is 60%. The work also played a good role in interpreting ArSL, and the accuracy of the work considers the KNN algorithm more accurate in prediction.

The exercise of market power by the strategic generating companies (gencos) in the deregulated wholesale electricity market (WEM) should be mitigated, as it results in higher wholesale prices of electricity and a drop in competition in the WEM. Consequently, Optimal Transmission Switching (OTS) has been proposed as a means by which the System Operator in the WEM can use to mitigate it. It is also imperative that the effect of the Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) on reducing the cost due to the market power using OTS must be investigated. Therefore, this study used the Fast Voltage Stability Index (FVSI) to select the critical lines to be optimally switched and compensated. The compensation factor was used to size the UPFC. The modified IEEE 14-bus system was utilized as the test system. Worst Nash Equilibrium (WNE) was used to model the behavior of the strategic gencos in exercising market power on an EPG. The OTS under WNE was modeled and solved in the General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS) studio with the aid of the Network Enabled Optimization System (NEOS) server. The results of the FVSI were used to modify the parameters of the EPG in the GAMS studio and identify critical lines for the OTS. The simulated results revealed that in using OTS under WNE, strategic gencos dispatch more power in the presence of the UPFC than in its absence, reducing the cost associated with the market power of the strategic gencos.
