Lipid profile was estimated in sera of patients in major thalassemia (Tmajor),minor
thalassemia (Tminor) compared with control group. 95 individual (26minor),(29major) was
admitted to thalassemic center in Amara city .S.Iraq ,and 40 healthy as control group. Lipid
profile which include Cholesterol (Ch),Triglyceride(TG),Phospholipid (Ph.L),Total lipid
(T.L),High density lipoprotein -Cholesterol (HDL-C),Low density lipoprotein-Cholesterol
(LDL-C),Very low density lipoprotein-Cholesterol (VLDL-C) .In our study there were found
increase levels of Ch,TG,HDL-C,VLDL-C and total lipid in sera of both patient groups
compared with control,while alower of LDL-C and Ph.L levels was found in sera of minor and
major thalassemia patients.

hirty mice males were divided into three groups.First group was injected
with (50 mg/kg) of aspirin,the second was injected with(150 mg/kg)and the third group termed as control group and injected with distiled water.The experiment continued for four weeks .In the end of the experiment half of males were mated with untreated females.The number and weight of litters were recorderd in addition to the length of gestation .The second half of males were anesthetized, then epididymis was removed.The total sperm count,the percentage of live and dead sperms and the percentage of motile and non-motile were counted .The results showed that there was a significant decrease(p<0.05) in the litters number and significant increase(p<0.05) in the period of pregnancy .Also there was a significant decrease(P<0.01) in the percentage of live and motile sperms in the both
groups compared with control group .Also the percentage of dead and non-motile sperms were increased significantly(P<0.01)in both groups compared with control group. These effects of aspirin maybe due to the action of aspirin as prostagland inhibitor.

This study deals with simulate assumed designs for ruby laser resonator from calculate radius of laser beam at the beam waist, diameter of laser beam and curvature radius of laser beam at distance (z). The results found the best design of ruby laser resonator has very small divergence angle and high degree of directionality. Its found the minimum value of divergence angle was about 0.1033 mrad at R1=40 cm and R2=40 cm.

The study deals with the effect of leaves powders of Nicotiana tabacum ,Nerium oleander ,
Zizphusspina-christi , Vitex agnus-castus, Lantana camara , Myrtus communis , Clerodendron inerum and Eucalptus globules on the mortality reduction in F1progeny and repellency of leaves powders on the red flour beetle . This results showed that when we mixed the leaves powders with crushed wheat grains in amounts of 4, 2,1, and 0.5 % weight by weight , the mortalities increased with increasing mount .The leaves powders of N. tabacum ,Z. christi and C. inerium was the best effected the mortality of the adults after 7 days it 97.5 ,71.77 , 68.33% respectively .
The losses of percentage rate in the weight grains was revesaly proprotioed with mount of powder was the best mount 4 % reduced in the weight and also mixed leaves powder with0.92 % grains through 30 days reached food reducing F1 progeny , the best effected was L .camara it reached 95.12 % and producted rate reached 1.46% . The results showed that leaves powder of M communis was the best effected of response index reached - 0.1at all amounts 4 % and 2 % after 24 hours . The result showed was not effected the plants powdered of leaves in the percentag of germination of wheat grains treatment .

We studied the effect of adding (Dodecyl Benzene Ammonium Sulphonate) as afunction of different ratio( 1% - 8%) where these additives added to the matrix of Iraqi cement (Om Quasar factory for cement) .All the prepared samples were in form of cubic with aside ( 50 mm ) long and
evaluated as afunction of dipping time in distilled water . All the prepared samples had a proportion of cement to sand ). The obtained results showed that the (Dodecyl Benzene Ammonium Sulphonate) tends to decrease the compressive strength of the modified cement mixture with
increasing curing time with distilled water where the amount of decrease linearly when curing time is 21 days but less decrease in compressive strength obtained when curing time is 3 and 7 days while the relative compressive strength decrease linearly also as a function of adding ratio when curing time is 3 days. Also surfactant (Dodecyl Benzene Ammonium Sulphonate) acting as plasticizer on cement matrix leading to flexible cement. Finally the obtained results showed that there is a critical ratio of
(Dodecyl Benzene Ammonium Sulphonate) depending on the kind of used cement and curing conditions enabling us to use this modified cement in many application specially in industrial and oil for the high workability of this cement and the less water needs.

The present study was carried out on 35 specimens of long eared hedgehog Hemiechinus auritus Gmelin,1770 in several localities of Abu Al-Khasib district, Basrah province during the period from March to September, 2004.The intestine of hedgehog was removed and examined to searching for helminth parasites. One species of cestode were collected from 4(11.4 %) of examined animals . The isolated cestode was similar to original description of Mathevotaenia erinacei, therefore redescription and Comparison between two measurements were given. The present finding of this cestode represent its first Record in iraq.

Over –12 month period from January 2006 to December 2006 ,
898 cases of Giardiasis were diagnosed in Al-Nassiria city- Southern Iraq . The age of subject ranged from below one year to ten years. The prevalence rate of giardiasis among male significantly higher than among female (55.1%) and (44.9%) respectively . The high rate of infection with Giardia lamblia 125 (93.3%) cases in children (1—2) years old , Also result revealed that the cyst phase was dominant (61.6%) than trophozoite (38.3%) . Mixed infections showed double infections with Giardia lamblia 56(62.3%) .The common symptoms was diarrhoea (94.1%) and the highest rate of infection were in summers months .

In this paper , the mechanical properties of high density polyethylene
(HDPE grade M624) produced by SCPI / Basrah – Iraq , mixed with the wood flour and bagasse as fillers with 10-50 % w/w have been studied . The maximum tensile strength was observed at 10% w/w of fillers ratio . The elongation , impact strength and fracture energy were decreased with increasing of fillers ratio while the Young modulus and hardness were increased .

A theoretical model is presented for a single – photon interference experiment in a beam - splitter using the second photon in a cascade transition of a three – level atomic system. A clear anticorrelation effect is found in the coincidences of photons on the two sides of the beam splitter that can only be explained by quantum theory of light . A qualitative comparison is made with an earlier single – photon interference experiment available in literature.

A numerical has been under taken to study the effects of the optical
injection and the optical feedback on the nonlinear dynamical behavior of the semiconductor laser using a simple model, based on the coupled electric field and population inversion rate equations. A number of distinct states are obtained. These include periodic limit – cycle operation , quasiperiodicity, and chaotic behaviors dependent on the type of the laser control parameter and the operating conditions.

The work was included the synthesis of some new allyl , vinyl , tosyl and methyl derivatives for isonicotinic acid hydrazide( isoniazid ). The products were characterized by elemental analysis besides the IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopic identifications . The work was also included the study of the biological activity of the products ,
starting material (isoniazid) and some antibiotics ,. This study shows that the biological activity of products is more than that of the isoniazid and the antibiotics.

Isolates of E. coli were exposed to sub-minimal inhibitory concentration of
each of the cytotoxic drugs MTX, 6-MP, VCR for 4 weeks . Aliquots of 0.5 ml containing 5 x 106 CFU were injected in the peritoneal cavity of Balb/C mice .
Results revealed that the bacteria exposed to either MTX & 6-MP were more virulent than those exposed to VCR or those not exposed to any cytotoxic drug .
After one hour from injection, the mice demonstrated bacteremia at a ratio of 5/5 then died within 3 days; histopathological examination revealed signs of acute inflammation. Mice injected with bacterial suspension exposed to VCR,
have demonstrated symptoms after 3 hours of injection and bacteremia was demonstrated by the ratio of 2/5 and the animals died subsequently, whereas no infection was recorded in mice injected with bacterial suspension not exposed to the cytotoxic drugs and all remained alive.

This paper introduce statistical analysis on sample of mathematical student in college of science , Kufa university .A questionnaire was answered by all student in mathematics department . The aim was to investigate the desire of students to be mathematics teacher, go for higher study in one hand , and student opinions of their teachers from four variable namely , personality , scientific knowledge,ability of communication with students,the ability of evaluation ,using Excel program to draw graphs ,and factorial experiments to analyze data.

In this paper, we present the significant difference between the level of student
comprehension for these year courses and for all student of mathematical
department,college of science, Kufa university .Moreover to find out the effect of scientific, personality,ability of evaluation and ability of communication To have the goal ,we used some statistical methods like experimental design,correlation and regression analysis.

An aquous hot and cold aquous extracts and ethanolic extracts beside alkaloids fraction for Xanthium Spinosum L. have been prepared.Qualitative tests have been carried out for detection of their general chemical composition, and UV-Visible spectra
were also obtained. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of extracts were tested by Agar wells diffusion method. Human blood cells were used to determine cytotoxicity for extracts in concentration 500 mg/ml.. No cytotoxic effects were observed by this
concentration.
