Serum adenosine deaminase (ADA) activity was determined in 30 blood sample of type 1 diabetic individuals 30 blood sample for the type 2 and 15 normal children as a control for type 1 15 normal adults as control for type 2. The mean ADA activity and specific activity in type 1 was (8.85± 5.55 U/mg of protein) which is compared with control (32.11± 1.54 U/mg of protein) while in type 2 was (48.46±11.91 U/mg of protein) is compared with control (5.18± 2.27 U/mg of protein ). We conclude that the altered blood level of ADA activity may help in predicting immunological dysfunction in diabetic individuals and also has a prognostic value.

Wires are commonly used for the construction of orthodontic appliances and occasionally as wrought clasps and rests on partial dentures. The corrosion resistance is the most important properties of dental alloy. Corrosion process reported to cause a numerous adverse effects on both living tissue and restoration .The conditions in the mouth are very suitable for the occurrence of corrosion. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the corrosion behavior of different gauges of stainless steel wire in artificial saliva .Four gauges of dental stainless steel wire used in orthodontic and removable partial denture were used in this study 0.6mm.,0.7mm.,0 .8mm.&1.0mm.).The specimens were divided according to gauge in to four groups(A,B,C,&D ) ,ten specimens in each group .Each wire was cut by using wire cutter to get wire with (1cm) in length .Artificial saliva of Fusayama Meyer type was used as the testing solution .Sensitive electronic balance was used to weight the sample before immersion in solution and recording the results.This this represents the first weight(W1).Each specimen was put inside a test tube , and held using dental floss in a way that the specimen was fully immersed in the solution from all sides . The specimens then were put inside an incubator ,which was adjusted at 37±2 and left for 14 days .At the end of immersion period ; the specimens were removed from the solution and then allowed to dry and were balanced then the results were recorded .This represents the second weight (W2) .After obtaining the (W1)&(W2) the corrosion rate was calculated . The results before and after immersion showed that the 0.6 mm.& 0.7mm stainless steel wire gave the highest and more corrosion resistance value than 0.8mm&1.0mm.stainless steel wire . The result showed there is a statistical significance between (W1&W2) of 0.8mm stainless steel wire and highly significant between (W1&W2) of 1.0mm. stainless steel wire . The comparison of the results after calculating results in corrosion rate formula showed that the 1.0mm stainless steel wire more corrosion resistance followed by 0.8mm wire ,from 0.6mm& 0.7 mm wire .

This study included the effect of chronic exposure of different concentrations of sodium chloride on the freshwater Crustacean Daphinea pulex from the order of Cladocera. The concentrations used for the chronic exposure were( 0.1‰, 0.5‰, 1‰, 1.5‰, 2‰ )to investigate the effect on the some reproductive parameter which included mean number of eggs and juveniles produced per female and per clutch,and mean number of clutch per female which decline from (6.0) clutch/female in the control treatment to (3.0) clutch/female in (2‰) concentrations, as well as to investigate the number of females produce the clutches and we found only one female produced six cluthes in the( 2‰) concentration of sodium chloride .Increasing of sodium chloride concentrations coincidence with increasing of time intervals of eggs appearance in the broadpouch as well as increasing in the time intervals between cluthes when salt concentrations increase.

The present study was carried out to evaluate antibacterial activity of water , alcoholic extracts (cold and hot) and the crude alkaloid extract of leaves, seeds and roots of Zygophyllum fabago plant against the growth of some bacteria including gram negative bacteria(Escherichia coli ,Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and gram positive bacteria(Staphylococcus aureus ,Bacillus subtilis). Results showed variation in antibacterial activity of different extracts against the studied bacteria. Hot alcoholic extracts showed the highest antibacterial activity followed by hot water extract. Additionally, alcoholic extracts of seeds revealed a higher activity compared with other plant extract.Results of sensitivity of bacteria towards crude extracts,showed the following: B.subtilis was more sensitive,its growth inhibited by all extracts of Z.fabago, with MIC (1040)mg/ml, followed by S.aureus MIC with (10-50)mg/ml, then E.coli was with MIC(1060)mg/ml, finally P.aeruginosa which was the most resistant for all exracts and MIC was with (20-70)mg/ml. Crude alkaloid extracts from different plant parts also differed in their activity against these bacteria, where the seeds alkaloid extract was the most effective, followed by the alkaloid extract of leaves and roots. Bioautography of seeds alkaloid extracts using TLC technique showed the presence of three compounds which differed in their Rf values, only one compound of these three showed antibacterial activity tested against B. subtilis.

An experiment was conducted in pots with 4 Kg soil per pot in the green house of Biology department, College of Education (Ibn Al-Haithum), university of Baghdad, the growing season of (2008-2009), to study the effects of four levels of urea (0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.4) g/pot, that equivalent to (0, 100, 200 and 400) Kg/ha. Also three levels of superphosphate fertilizer (0.2, 0.1, and 0) g/pot, that equivalent to (200, 100, and 0) Kg/ha were added to the local yields components. The result showed that the high level of both fertilizer (400 Kg urea/ha and 200 Kg superphosphate/ha) caused a significant increase in number of pods/plant, dry weight of pods, the weight of 100 seeds and the weight of all seeds/plant, with a significant decrease in the character of the relative yield.

A histological study was conducted to examine the structure of optic tectum in Hemidactylus flaviviridis. The results showed that the optic tectum consists of fourteen strata organized in three zones. The deep zone which extends from the first stratum (around optic ventricle) to the fifth stratum. The medium zone comprises the sixth & seventh strata, which represent the center of optic tectum. The superficial zone which extends from the eighth stratum to the fourteenth stratum and forms the retino recipient region. The strata of deep zone are called the Stratum Griseum et Periventricular ( SGAP ) , the sixth stratum is called the Stratum Album Central ( SAC ) and the seventh stratum is called the Stratum Griseum Central ( SGC) . The strata of superficial zone are called the Stratum Album Griseum Superficial ( SAGS) except the fourteenth stratum which is called the Stratum Opticum (SO ).

The aim of this research is to determine the concentrations of uranium in human blood in some regions of Baghdad governorate and to determine the level of contamination with uranium for these regions during the (2003) war. The results obtained have shown that the maximum uranium concentration in blood samples was found (0.256 ppm) in AL-Zaifranea region and AL-Sader city,while the minimum in AL-Shab region (0.052 ppm) ,the minimum of uranium concentration in the blood samples was found to be (0.008 ppm) (male,39 years old) lived in AL-Shab region, while the maximum of uranium concentration in the blood samples was found to be (0.44 ppm) (female, 55 years old ) lived in AL-Sader city.

Different percents(1.0,2.5,5.0 and 10)wt%of MgO powders were added to ZnO powder to study their effects on the physical properties of ZnO.Density, porpsity and water absorption of ZnO were decreased as MgO weigth percentage content increased. The values of vickers hardneess have double values especially at 1.0 wt % of MgO.

This research studyies wear rate of composite materials by using Epoxy Resin and Polyurethane Rubber as a matrix of weigt percentage (90:10) (Ep/Pu) and reinforced by PVC fibers and Aluminum fibers two dimension knitted mat with fractional volume(15 %), in different conditions like: lab conditions and after submerge the samples in water for different periods of time. . four kinds of materials were prepared: (Ep+pu), (Ep+Pu+PVC), (Ep+Pu+Al.F), (Ep+Pu+PVC+Al. F) .And the results have shown that the best wear resistance are for the hybrid composite material (Ep + Pu+ PVC + Al. F) and wear rate of all samples increased when it was submerged in water

Chemiluminescenc (CL), light emitted during chemical reaction, is one of the accurate methods used to detect directly oxygen free radicals. In this study, luminol was used as CL detector, to detect the concentration of free radicals formed in whole blood exposed to high power microwave pulses. The changes in the intensity of CL signal gives a clear relation between the concentration of free radicals formed by radiation in blood and changes in blood properties such as hemolysis of blood cells. This is done by measuring the electrical sytoplsimic electrical properties, the results are substituted in Maxwell-Wagner equation, to obtain electrical conductivity of cytoplasm, which is 18.3 ms/cm, while at suspension medium was 56.1 ms/cm, with specific absorption rate 1Kw/ gm and the total deposited energy per gm per pulse of 50 mJ.The over all temperature rise per pulse in suspension, red and white blood cells are, 0.017 0C, 0.004 oC and 0.003oC respectively. All these changes lead to increase the peak of CL signal compared with unexposed blood. This also indicates that, the formation of different reactive oxygen species in blood would increase and leads to the formation of hydrogen peroxide, which causes to enhance phagocytes behavior of leukocytes at the early time of exposure, but then causes blood hemolysis for later duration and causes membrane perturbation.

In this research work, a modified DCT descriptor are presented to mosaics the satellite images based on Abdul Kareem [1] similarity criterion are presented, new method which is proposed to speed up the mosaics process is presented. The results of applying the modified DCT descriptor are compared with the mosaics method using RMSE similarity criterion which prove that the modified DCT descriptor to be fast and accurate mosaics method.

The present study conducted on 30 female patients with osteoarthritis 0A a
attending Baghdad teaching hosp ital, in addition to 30 healthy females , all subjects
were ( 35-65) years old.
Some biochemical parameters were measured in the sera of patients and healthy
group s. The parameters were Glutathione (GSH). Ceruloplasmin (Cp) and some trace
elements ,including Copper (Cu) ,Cu/ Cp ratio and Selenium (Se) were determined . The
results revealed a significant reduction in all parameters of patients sera compared to
healthy group .
The reduction in GSH and Cu/Cp ratio confirms tissue damage associated with
oxidative stress injury
A conclusion was obtained hrer ,that Cu wasn’t an important element in oxidative
stress in p atients .

Measurements of excess molar volumes VE , viscosities η , excess viscosities Δ ln η and excess molar activation energies of viscous flow ΔGE , are reported for binary mixtures of dimethylformamide (DMF) with , benzene , o-xylene , 1,4- dioxane and tetrahydrofuran are reported from density and viscosity measurements at 298.15 k and at atmospheric pressure over the entire composition range . The excess values are positive for the mixture (DMF+ polar solvent) and negative deviation from ideality for the mixture (DMF + non-polar solvent) over the whole composition range and discussed in the light of molecular interaction in the mixture.

Amiodarone hydrochloride (AH) has been determined spectrophotometrically Using methyl orange (MO). In our previous researches MO was used for determination of Mexiletine Hydrochloride [1]. The method based on complexation between MO and AH. After shaking and diluting the complex solution with D.W, the pH was adjusted with NaOH and HCl to pH 3. The colored complex formed between AH and the reagent were transferred into separating funnels and extracted using 5.5ml CH2Cl2 and were shaken for (5 minutes). The extracted organic layer was used for preparation of the calibration curves for spectrophotometric measurements of AH at 434nm. The blanks were carried out in exactly the same way throughout the whole procedure. Molar absorptivity (ε L.mol-1.cm-1), detection limit, limit of linearity (µg.ml-1) and r2 were, 5.74 *105, 0.04 and 0.982 for (AH-MO) respectively. The method was used with reasonable accuracy and precision for the determination of (AH) in synthetic samples of tablets, capsules and ampoules.

L-Phenylalanine amino acid was condensed with 2-hydroxybezaldehyde to give the Schiff base sodium 2-(2-hydroxybenzylideneamino)-3-phenylpropanoate, which was used as a precursor [NaHL]. The precursor was reacted with 1,2-dichloroethane to give the Schiff base sodium 2,2'-(2,2'-(ethane-1,2diylbis(oxy))bis(2,1-phenylene))bis(methan-1-yl-1-ylidene)bis(azan1-yl-1-ylidene)bis(3-phenyl propanoate), which was used as a ligand [Na2L], in complexation with some metal (II) chloride MCl2, where [M= Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II)], to give [M(L)] complexes. The [Na2L] ligand and All complexes were characterized by spectroscopic methods, [FTIR, UV-Vis, atomic absorption], melting point, chloride content, conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements, as well as the Na2L ligand characterized by 1H NMR. The data, of these studies and measurements were important to suggest an octahedral geometry around Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) ions. The synthesized ligand, along with its metal complexes, was screened for in vitro antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus, and Acinetobacter baumannii. This study showed an effective inhibition of gram- positive bacteria.

A new ligand (H4L) and its complexes with ( ZnII, CdII and HgII) were prepared. This ligand was prepared in two steps. In the first step a solution of terephthaldehyde in methanol was reacted under reflux with 1,2-phenylenediamine to give an precursor compound which reacted in the second step with 2,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde to give the ligand. The complexes were then synthesized by direct reaction of the corresponding metal chloride with the ligand. The ligand and complexes were characterized by spectroscopic methods FT-IR, UV-Vis, 1HNMR, and atomic absorption, chloride content, HPLC, mole-ratio determination. in addition to conductivity measurement. The data of these measurements suggest a distorted tetrahedral geometry for ZnII, CdII and HgII complexes and that they would be presented as [M2L(H2L)CI2]. The Stability Constant K and Gibbs free energy ∆G were calculated for [Zn2(H2L)Cl2] and [Cd2(H2L)Cl2] complexes by using spectrophotometer method. The obtained values indicate that these complexes are stable in their solution. The biological activity for the following ligand ( H4L ) and complexes [Zn2(H2L)Cl2] and [Cd2(H2L)Cl2] was studied .

1,3- Oxazepines, benz [1,2-e] [1,3]-oxazepines, and 3- nitrobenz [1,2-e] [1,3] - oxazepines were reacted with ammonia derivatives, H2N-Z .. to give 1,3 – diazepine -4,7- dione, benzodiazepine - 4,7- dione, and 3 – nitrobenzo -1,3- diazepine - 4,7- dione, respectively.

In this study , the effect of an organic compound prepared as derivative of oxazepine tested on the activities of aspartate amino trasferase (AST) and alanin amino transferase (ALT). The kinetic study of such enzymes is in the presence of oxazepine derivative. The results revealed that the organic compound is a non competitive inhibitor for both enzymes. The Km value for AST is 1.3 × 10-3 M and Vmax for the uninhibited is 200 U/mL and for the inhibited is 111.1 U/mL while Km value for ALT is 2.5 × 10-3 M and Vmax are 89.66 U/mL and 56.77 U/mL for the uninhibited and inhibited enzyme respectively.

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) accompanied with an increase in the death rate and represents a significant public health challenge. It is the cause of other disorders and infection in many body organs. Hence, it is important to study the possible changes in the immunological components in the serum of diabetic patients which are not well understood. In this work, serum C3, C4, IgA, IgG, and IgM were estimated in the patients with insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) and compared with healthy persons. Patients and Methods: Twenty-one insulin dependent diabetic patients in addition to twenty-four healthy persons as control group were participated in this study. Serum C3, C4, IgA, IgG, and IgM were measured by using immunodiffusion plates. Results: The results showed a significant increase (p<0.05) in serum C3 and IgA while there is no significant difference (p>0.05) in the concentration of the complement C4 and serum IgG and IgM in IDDM patients as compared with healthy control group. Conclusion: The changes profile of some serum immunological components in IDDM can be explained in the means of the possible changes in immunity system as an inflammatory response in DM as a consequence of hyperglycemia. Comprehensive immunological study of all immunological changes in the IDDM patients is required for a complete explanation

Several theorems and characterizations concerning these concepts are studied.

In this paper we study and design two feed forward neural networks. The first approach uses radial basis function network and second approach uses wavelet basis function network to approximate the mapping from the input to the output space. The trained networks are then used in an conjugate gradient algorithm to estimate the output. These neural networks are then applied to solve differential equation. Results of applying these algorithms to several examples are presented

In this paper, we present some numerical methods for solving systems of linear FredholmVolterra integral equations of the second kind. These methods namely are the Repeated Trapezoidal Method (RTM) and the Repeated Simpson's 1/3 Method (RSM). Manufacturing systems of the future foresee the use of intelligent vehicles, optimizing and navigating. The navigational problem is an important and challenging problem in the field of robotics. The robots often find themselves in a situation where they must find a trajectory to another position in their environment, subject to constraints posed by obstacles and the capabilities of the robot itself. On-line navigation is a set of algorithms that plans and executes a trajectory at the same time. The system adopted in this research searches for a robot collision-free trajectory in a dynamic environment in which obstacles can move while the robot was moving toward the target. So, the robot must operate in real-time such that the system reacts to unexpected obstacles. Genetic algorithms that have been used successfully in many search problems are used to solve the on-line navigation problem with less computational cost. The system uses genetic algorithm as a search method for an optimal trajectory.

In this paper, we describe a new method for image denoising. We analyze properties of the Multiwavelet coefficients of natural images. Also it suggests a method for computing the Multiwavelet transform using the 1st order approximation. This paper describes a simple and effective model for noise removal through suggesting a new technique for retrieving the image by allowing us to estimate it from the noisy image. The proposed algorithm depends on mixing both soft-thresholds with Mean filter and applying concurrently on noisy image by dividing into blocks of equal size (for concurrent processed to increase the performance of the enhancement process and to decease the time that is needed for implementation by applying the proposed algorithm on all four blocks concurrently) which are employed in order to remove the noise. The proposed method of image retrieving and smoothing outperforms the conventional methods that are used for image enhancement. The suggested algorithm and the evaluation test carried using Delphi V.5 package

The digital image with the wavelet tools is increasing nowadays with MATLAB library, by using this method based on invariant moments which are a set of seven moments can be derived from the second and third moments , which can be calculated after converting the image from colored map to gray scale , rescale the image to (512 * 512 ) pixel , dividing the image in to four equal pieces (256 * 256 ) for each piece , then for gray scale image ( 512 * 512 ) and the four pieces (256 * 256 ) calculate wavelet with moment and invariant moment, then store the result with the author ,owner for this image to build data base for the original image to decide the authority of these images by using comparison using Mean Square Error (MSE) as shown below :-
