Modelling Technical Capacity of Industrial Machines Suppliers’ Selection Post Engineering and Economic Considerations

Abstract

After considering engineering, economics, and supply due-date strategic decisions as the death knell for the selection of industrial machinery suppliers, the technical capability of the suppliers is one of the strategic decisions for consideration. This study identifies necessary attributes, models them, and evaluates them using a case study of procuring a Cocoa Liquor Press from three vendors. Vendor 1 was found most suitable.

بعد النظر في القرارات الاستراتيجية المتعلقة بالهندسة والاقتصاد وتاريخ استحقاق التوريد كعامل حاسم لاختيار موردي الآلات الصناعية، فإن القدرة الفنية للموردين هي أحد القرارات الاستراتيجية التي يجب أخذها في الاعتبار. تحدد هذه الدراسة السمات الضرورية، تقوم بنمذجتها، وتقييمها باستخدام دراسة حالة لشراء مكبس شراب الكاكاو من ثلاثة موردين. تم العثور على المورد الأول هو الأنسب.

Effect of Rubber Scrap Tire Pads on the Behavior of Partially Connected Pile Raft Foundation System Subjected to Dynamic Loading

Abstract

A partially tied piled foundation raft where both horizontal and vertical movements will be tamed. Interfacing RSTP changes are in structural dynamics and the way the forces are distributed. Nevertheless, the overall seismic behavior of this type of foundation in medium dry sand soil links to the pile raft foundation system with partial structural connection has not been studied adequately. To fill this gap, we experimentally tested ten pile and group pile layouts in the laboratory to explore the interaction of the cushion layer with piles at different spacing. These tests concern the displacement mechanism of the raft foundation and the stressing change of the RSTP layers during earthquakes. Results show that using RSTP layers helps minimize displacement variations.

يتم ترويض الحركات الأفقية والرأسية في الأساس الحصيري ذو الركائز المتصلة جزئيا. تحدث تغييرات في الديناميكيات الإنشائية وطريقة توزيع القوى بسبب الوسائد المطاطية المعاد تدويرها (RSTP). ومع ذلك، لم يتم دراسة السلوك الزلزالي لهذا النوع من الأساسات بشكل كافٍ في التربة الرملية الجافة. لملء هذه الفجوة، قمنا بإجراء تجارب مختبرية على عشرة تصاميم لركائز فردية ومجمعة لاستكشاف تفاعل طبقة الوسائد مع الركائز عند تباعد مختلف. أظهرت النتائج أن استخدام طبقات RSTP يساعد على تقليل اختلافات الإزاحة.

Compressive Strength of Geopolymer Mortar Reinforced with Rice Husk Fibers

Abstract

Geopolymer mortar was studied using a mix of fly ash, metakaolin, and rice husk fibers (1–2%) as reinforcement. Waste paper was added (1–5%). Samples cured at 60°C for 24 hours showed up to 59% improvement in compressive strength. The study highlights the benefits of rice husk fibers and waste paper for improving compressive strength in eco-friendly construction materials.
