This study examines the various aspects of the deep tackling of the meaning of the name of Allah in the contemporary poetic texts. It is known that the modern Arabic literature which had always discussed the various aspects of life will always be considered as a rich dictionary that includes unlimited topics.This constant discussion and variation give the old topics a new look and prospective in the field of poetic images and lexicon. The name of Allah is among the topics that could be dealt with from a new prospective every time. This topic has been viewed from two main ways: the first and classical way is the fact that people(and researchers) usually attach the name of Allah with praying and asking for help- even though the classical poets did their best to add new and untraditional meanings and ways every time. As for the second perspective, it can be summarized by the new meanings that are the result of the modern era including the main consequences of wars and political conflicts. The researcher discusses the topic by presenting examples of old and modern meanings to avoid repetition

The humanitarian expression and human situation occupy a nice location in the Arab poem due to handicrafts and tired memory. To the world\'s brigades and their cessation, as the language was hired to express the romantic dimension as a conscious exercise to face the ruin, which surrounds the man and nature, and the world is what we find in poet poet. The search consists of two bases: the first is to track romantic features in Loi Haddad hair, and the second access to the stylistic manifestations that appeared in their poems.

The semiotics of passions has introduced a new analytical dimension to the study of texts and discourses—an emotional dimension that complements the cognitive and pragmatic dimensions. This study explores the semiotic approach to the theme of passions in the poem Captivity by the Andalusian poet Ibn Suwar Al-Ushbuni. The research aims to understand how passions operate in the poem, uncover the various meanings expressed through the passions conveyed in the poetic text, and examine their mechanisms of operation and meaning generation based on the principles and methodologies of the semiotics of passions.
The study is structured into an introduction and three sections. The introduction provides a theoretical framework on the concept of semiotics and the semiotics of passions. The first section examines the manifestations of passions in the poem Captivity, with sorrow, fear, and joy being the most prominent. These passions are depicted as expressions of the self’s emotions and reactions that regulate its behavior and present it in a specific form. The second section delves into the narrative schematics of passions, tracing their stages and effectiveness in directing and influencing actions. Here, the self is portrayed as alert, in a state of emotional tension, ready to express its passions, articulate its physical emotional values, and refine them. The third section is dedicated to tension schematics, showcasing the passions in terms of their intensity and their ascending and descending progression.
The study concludes with a summary of the key findings, followed by a bibliography of sources and references.

Poetics, a term referring to the transformation of ordinary speech into a creative artistic practice, has become a fundamental component of modern novelistic art, despite its origins in poetry. In this paper, we attempted to apply the concept of poetics to the narrative spaces in a significant Iraqi literary work, which has been regarded as a poetic piece captivating readers with the charm of its language, the sweetness of its expression, its lofty human meanings, and its exquisite descriptions. This work is Arkashina Al-Sayyid by the Iraqi novelist Dr. Salman Kuyoush. The author skillfully elevated narrative spaces to unparalleled heights of affection, making readers feel that these spaces pulsate with life, longing, and hope, thus achieving their poetic essence through specific criteria that we sought to uncover.
To achieve this, we employed various methodologies, such as the descriptive-analytical and social approaches, focusing on spaces as a central theme and benefiting from modern critical studies that preceded us in this field.

This research examines the structure of argumentation in the poem Death and the Lantern by the Iraqi poet Abdul Wahab Al-Bayati. It does so by studying the fundamental elements of the argumentative relationship between the title, as the main structure of the poem, and the other components of the text, considered as indicative structures that engage in a dialectical relationship with the title, influencing and being influenced by it at various linguistic, rhetorical, and semantic levels. The poem Death and the Lantern was selected because it represents a modern text that embodies the poet\'s defense of the value of life in the context of a tragic conflict between the self and reality. This conflict imparts an argumentative nature to the text, fluctuating between direct argumentation and symbolic or suggestive persuasion. The argumentative directives resulting from the relationship between the title and the body of the text were revealed through the descriptive-analytical method, utilizing argumentation theory as a reference, and benefiting from various insights of this theory. The study concluded that the poem Death and the Lantern by Abdul Wahab Al-Bayati, in its structural relationship between the title and the body, tends to impose argumentative conclusions on the reader through dialectical persuasion, benefiting from the resources of argumentative language and certain rhetorical techniques. In this artistic style, some argumentative techniques emerge as an artistic equivalent through which the poet achieves his conclusions, such as the woodcutter and his cries.

This research deals with the Arabic literature of the Tuareg tribe in northern Mali during the twentieth century AD. It aims to identify this literature and reveal its aesthetics that distinguish it as a distinctive literature that stands out in Mali written in the Arabic language, and has a scientific value that is subject to monitoring, study and analysis. The descriptive analytical practice was used for its suitability to the current research topic.
Many results were reached, the most important of which was: that most of the Tuareg poetic texts need a true image of the slogan of the Arab world, whether it is in a basic system in terms of progress, profitability, comprehensiveness and meaning or in Terms of content, and this may also be indicated through this research. The dramatic poem is one of the most important aspects of the modern Arabic poem, which tried to free itself from the constraints of the column and the ancient Arabic poetic traditions. The poet Youssef Al-Sayegh is one of the most important modern Iraqi poets who established modern poetic traditions that seek to rebel against the column and create a new aesthetic space that relies on dramatic and theatrical techniques. The dramatic poem dominated his poetic achievement, to be a witness to his structural awareness and stylistic intentionality. His dramatic styles varied and were distributed among several dramatic forms, perhaps the most prominent of which are the poem of the scene, the poem of paradox, and the poem of dialogue. He did not abandon the dramatic structure until the last breath of his poetry collections, so his last collection, Wake Up, Youssef, was a final example of Al-Sayegh’s great experience.

Generativity is a system of rules that provides a syntactic description of sentences. It is based on the idea that a speaker can produce an unlimited number of grammatically and semantically correct sentences, relying on their unconscious knowledge of their language's system: syntactic, semantic, and phonological. Generation is the speaker’s ability to produce an unlimited number of sentences using a finite set of rules, understanding them, and distinguishing between what is syntactically correct and what is not, based on the speaker's implicit, unconscious knowledge of the language's rules. This knowledge is acquired from the speaker's earliest development and becomes ingrained in their mind, enabling them to later produce an unlimited number of new structures they have never heard before, but instead have created through their mental capacity and awareness of the language's foundational rules. This awareness is not intentional; rather, it is part of the cognitive process of the speaker, in addition to the sentences they have previously heard from their linguistic environment. Ultimately, this leads to the formation of their mental lexicon, which represents the stock of lexical units in their linguistic memory.
The lexicon, in this awareness, is not a dictionary list of words organized in specific books based on a particular system that refers to meanings according to certain usages. Rather, it is a mental path for the stock of lexical units in the speaker's mind. Chomsky utilized this in his second model through the developments he proposed. It became one of the foundational elements for updating the mentioned model. He continued to use it in his third model, despite leaving many cognitive pathways in his final update, as he did not abandon the lexicon due to its importance and centrality in the cognitive path of generative theory. For this reason, we decided to explore the functioning of the lexicon in this theory through the second and third models, examining its concept and the scope of performance it operates within, along with each functional path.

This study concerned with morphological employment in the book (Declension of the Great Quran) by Zakaria Al-Ansari (T: 926 A.H), whereas I found that it contains researches worthy of study and research, so the nature of the study required that the research be divided into two requirements starting with an introduction and a preamble and concluded with the research result, as well as a list of resources and references.
In the preamble, I dealt with a brief summary of Al-Ansari’s life and his most important books. The first requirement was specialized in morphological employment of broken plural (or internal plural), and I made the second requirement specialized in morphological employment to alternating formulas. In the conclusion, I presented the most important results of the study, which are: The lack of consensus among Arab linguists on the linguistic and morphological metaphors and dealing with the formula morphological significance as if it was belonging to one origin, and that every formula developed for a specific meaning, especially the words of Quran and looking at Arabic language In light of the Holy Quran, Al-Ansari did not disagree with previous linguistics in it.

This research paper seeks to identify the most prominent methods of discussion in the debates of Imam Reza, peace be upon him, due to their importance in Islamic history in general, It demonstrated the intellectual freedom that Islam has proven to all members of society, and this was evident in these debates. The research will focus on analyzing the most prominent methods of imperative construction and explaining its significance in texts, and not neglecting the theoretical aspect of it, by dividing the research into three topics: (interrogative style, imperative style, and vocative style).

This research presents a study of the terms related to nature in the poetry of the Andalusian poet Al-Mu\'tamid ibn Abbad (the third king of the Banu Abbad dynasty), specifically in the poems he wrote during his imprisonment in Aghmat, after being captured by the Almoravids following the fall of Seville.

The mechanism of rhetorical juxtaposition refers to a set of adjacent rhetorical techniques and arts, established through a wide network of semantic relationships. This mechanism broadens the scope of meaning, encompassing expressions with poetic qualities and rich expressive energy. The aesthetic composition emerges from the creation of poetic images that interactively align in their meanings and structural beauty. This mechanism requires a text imbued with a high degree of poetic and literary language, making The Talk of the Moon by Al-Rafi'i an ideal subject for studying rhetorical juxtaposition. Applied linguistics seeks to apply linguistic theories in an attempt to understand and solve practical issues related to linguistics. It has become an important field in education, translation, intercultural communication, and the use of technology in linguistics. It is, in fact, the key to understanding how language functions as an organized system and how to use it effectively and dynamically in daily life. One of the prominent representations of this science is known as geolinguistics or geographic linguistics, which varies in its terms depending on the audience. Geolinguistics focuses on the distribution of languages in different geographical areas, considering linguistic phenomena of all kinds, whether phonetic or otherwise. It also examines the impact of geographical, social, and historical factors on language development and change. This has led to the creation of linguistic and dialectical atlases and linguistic distribution according to specific scientific contexts. This research aims to explore these linguistic terms and concepts, explain their function, how they are created, and their importance in the field of applied linguistics.

Undoubtedly war is the source of all evils, no matter how justified nor how necessary it is. Yet the traditional warfare between two or more armies with adult soldiers is no longer the status quo. New kinds of wars emerged in the last few decades that changed the face of military conflicts and required younger, untrained, and reckless individuals who are brainwashed and rendered ready for dangerous and indescribable tasks and operations.
Hence began the recruiting of children as a new weapon in these wars, where they are either kidnapped, threatened, or intimidated to join the armed forces. Sometimes economic crises play a great role in facilitating this kind of recruitment exploiting poor families who are willing to give their children away to be killing machines in a very early age and expose them to all sorts of traumas that can scar them forever. The growing phenomenon of child soldiers has become alarming lately and required intervention to stop it or at least to lessen its traumatic impact.
Theatre, as usual, carries out its social mission and treats the subject of child soldering as a very crucial matter, depicting the dilemma of these victimized children, who are often seen as criminals, and using drama itself as a means of healing them and helping them to overcome their PTSD. Many plays were written about children who have originally been victims of brutal civil and intrastate wars, and one way of their victimization is throwing them in the middle of battle, untrained and uncounted for.
Plays like Stoning Mary by Debbie Tucker Green; Midwinter by Zinnie Harris, and Child Soldier by J. Thalia Cunningham and Mahmood Karimi-Hakak and so many others, tackle the subject of child soldiering, showing the ugly face of war that keeps creating new weapons of destruction by turning innocent children into ruthless monsters.

This study investigates the morphological phenomenon of suppletion in English and Arabic. Specifically, it will look at how these languages handle words with similar meanings but come from entirely different sources, which goes against standard morphological patterns. The study tries to answer the following question: what are the basic rules of language that govern these irregular forms? What are the limits that shape them? The study uses examples like \"go\" to \"went\" and \"good\" to \"better\" in English and \"فرس\" (faras, horse) to \"خيل\" (khail, horses) in Arabic to show how various languages handle suppletion in both similar and different ways. The results show that English uses a mix of full and partial suppletion in different types of grammar. It is because language changes over time, making it essential to remember.
On the other hand, Arabic has a root-and-pattern morphology, meaning that the roots of nouns change in a planned way. The roots stay the same in partial suppletion but change to completely different ones in total cases. This comparison shows how complicated and flexible each language\'s approach to morphological errors is. It helps us learn more about how languages are structured and how our minds work when we learn a language.

Go Tell the Spartans (1978) is one of the first post-Vietnam War movies narrating the end of the French presence in Vietnam and the early involvement of the United States there. It depicts the United States’ bourgeois ideology after WWII and its reactions against the spread of communism. This article analyzes the conflict between ideological restrictions and utopian visions in Ted Post’s movie Go Tell the Spartans as a literary text more than as a cinematic production. At the ideological level, this article shows that the movie sustains the United States’ exceptionalism or heroism and reinifornces the steotypical representation of the Vietnemese within the context of the Other. Nevertheless, at the utopian level, this article highlights the United States’ military advisors’ rejection of Vietnam War and their attempt to establish a solidarity with Vietnemese as human beings beyond the United States’ othering of them as “enemy.” Significantly, this article mainly adapts Paul Ricœur’s dialectical analysis of ideology and utopia as the main literary theory. Thus, it discusses ideological constraints and utopian visions according to Ricœur’s concept of the ideology as a source of distortion and legitimization, and a utopia within the concept of critique and rupture more than futuristic visions.

This study examines American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins as a postmodern novel in relation to critical stylistics, focusing on the language of migration. It applies five Critical Stylistic tools: Actions/Events/States, Equating and Contrasting, Implying and Assuming, Negating, and Presenting the Speech and Thoughts of Others to uncover the ideologies underlying the narrative and explore how the novel constructs the image of the immigrant.
The aims of this study are, first, to analyze how language choices in American Dirt shape the portrayal of illegal migration, and second, to uncover the ideological implications within the novel’s framing of migration. This paper argues that American Dirt reproduces hegemonic discourses of migration by focusing on the suffering of the main characters while erasing structural factors and the possibility of success. The study finds that the novel portrays migrants as weak and depressed—a representation that, while impactful, offers a reductive perspective on the complex and multi-layered nature of migration.
The study also engages with cultural conversations surrounding the novel, including debates on the representation of Mexican immigrants and the issue of cultural appropriation. The ideological aspects of these depictions are examined to highlight the need for realism and multimodality in narratives of migration.
This research is significant because it contributes to the discourse on the role literature plays in shaping public perceptions of migration. The author argues that future works of fiction should present migrants in a more nuanced and diverse manner to encourage readers to develop more balanced attitudes toward migrants and foster a healthier societal discourse on migration.

Critic Gloria Femen lamented about the lost women of surrealism in one of her seminal research endeavours titled “Art History and the Case for Women in Surrealism”. She additionally lamented Surrealism’s founder, Andre Breton’s somewhat sexist take that for women to achieve anything in this convention, they must adopt the persona of the Woman-Child who is intact with her childhood innocence and is able to use the latter to transcend the rational world of the adult. While Femen rejected this idea claiming that it marginalized women artists whose art had noticeably entered its mature phase, this paper showcases how that may not be the case with Dickinson. After subjecting Dickinson’s poetry to close scrutiny, it was found that Dickinson might not only have inadvertently been using the Surrealistic convention at least a century before its official introduction in the world of art and literature but that the persona of the Woman-Child was, in fact, a major attribute of her poetry which imbued the latter with much of its surrealistic essence.

The aim of the present study is to perform a thorough stylistic analysis of Dorothy Parker's short story "A Telephone Call". The study investigates the four language levels that are relevant to the short story are planned to be stylistically analyzed in this study. The phonological level includes four sound features: alliteration, consonance, assonance, and rhymes. The syntactic level is characterized by the story's frequent use of parallelism and repetition. The use of sophisticated synonyms significantly affects the story's semantic level. The author was able to map semantically unrelated words together, making them synonyms in context. Finally, the graphological level is distinguished by excessive use of punctuation, which includes commas, semicolons, inverted commas, dashes, and hyphens. The study also employs three types of figures of speech: simile, personification and understatement. The author uses a variety of linguistic and poetic devices to demonstrate her distinct style, making her more compelling to the reader.

This study uses Multimodal Critical Discourse Analysis (MCDA) to examine how the Russia-Ukraine conflict is portrayed in British and American media, specifically focusing on the BBC and CNN. By analyzing both verbal and visual elements, the research aims to determine whether the coverage is impartial or biased. Drawing on theoretical frameworks from Wodak (2006), Kress and van Leeuwen (2006), Machin (2013), and Wong (2019), the study looks at how language, imagery, and design shape the narratives. Using both qualitative and quantitative methods, the study reveals how these elements interact to reflect ideological biases and power dynamics. The findings suggest that while both outlets strive for fairness, the BBC leans towards a more neutral, fact-based approach, relying on institutional reports and data, whereas CNN uses personal stories and emotional elements, slightly reducing its neutrality. This analysis underscores the significant role media plays in shaping public perception during conflicts and calls for balanced, objective reporting in such critical times.

When it comes to understanding the sound of language in the context of football commentary, a major consideration is how the study is structured to communicate those ideas effectively. The introduction of a well-organized study will mention relevant concepts, such as how intonation contributes to commentary effectiveness. After the introduction, Because the study is descriptive we need body paragraphs that explore specific elements of the topic, such as the role of intonation on listener engagement or the emotional oomph of commentary. The literature suggests here that, by teaching adolescents about the nuances of language, one might improve their understanding and use of such techniques in real-world settings (Erlam et al., 2021).The study aims to deconstruct the relationship between language and audience engagement within the context of sporting events. The question of the study is that how intonation in football commentary not only adds to the overall atmosphere of the match but also contributes towards the viewers enjoyment and ultimately the viewers experience in visualising the game, uncovering the unique nature of the relationship between language and sport and how together they create the culture of football as a whole. Finally, the study reaches the following conclusion which is the unique features of football commentary show that intonation is crucial for rendering the viewers’ interpretation and involvement to a considerable extent. By looking closely at language practices, it’s possible to see how commentators create excitement and otherwise convey critical information.

The theory of norms has a large extent of applications throughout different human sciences, ranging from Psychology and Sociology to Anthropology, but its great and influential role has been remarkably manifested in Translation within Descriptive Translation Studies. This study entitled \"Introducing the Theory of Norms as A Descriptive Approach in the Translations of Argumentative Writings to Arabic \" intends to introducing the theoretical framework of the theory of norms as a one of the pioneering theories within the Descriptive Translation Studies. The study explores the effective role of the three translational norms (i.e., preliminary, initial and operational) in producing adequate and acceptable translations. These norms are proposed by Toury in his descriptive translation studies model (1980/1995). Toury sees that translational norms are influential and effective determinants in governing the behaviour of translators during the act of translation and controlling all their decisions. The study aims at examining whether the explicit and implicit argumentative moves and indicators such as what related to the speech acts and grasping the pragmatic implications have been maintained in translations as intended by the text-producer. It also aims at determining the problems that hinder translating argumentative writings to Arabic appropriately and finding out solutions about them.

This paper analyzes Margret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale through the lens of Marxist feminism. Atwood constructs the dystopian world of Gilead, where women are denied their rights and reduced to mere means for reproduction. They are subjected to cruel punishments for any form of resistance. Atwood's portrayal of women’s rights under the rule of Gilead serves shows that housework and bearing children can be used as methods to oppress and control women. Drawing parallels to real-world events and ideologies, the novel gives a relevant picture to women’s battle for their rights across time.

This study explores the marked use of colloquial words in Iraqi opinion articles whose language is Standard Arabic. It examines the attitudinal potential of colloquial words in newspaper opinion articles. The objective is to discover how colloquial words implicate attitudinal meanings, and how they are motivated by ideological ends. Accordingly, the main question this study raises is: Why do writers of Iraqi opinion articles use colloquial words? To achieve the goals of the study, the researcher adopts an eclectic model that consists of concepts from Martin and White’s (2005) appraisal theory, van Dijk’s (2006 & 2011) socio-cognitive approach, and Machin and Mayr (2012). After applying a qualitative method of analysis, the study finds that the colloquial words are motivated by the strategic ideology of positive self-presentation and negative other-presentation. It also finds that those informal words connote authorial attitudes, and are strategically employed in texts which abound in ironic expressions.

This paper intends to examine thematic progression in economic news reports. The data is limited to three selected reports on Iraq negotiations with Gazprom to develop Al-Nasiriyah oilfield. The paper aims to investigate thematic progression in the reports selected through identifying the theme and rheme in each clause and their types and how thematic progression and its types are linked with the rheme of the said context. The paper is carried out through the qualitative method approach based on an eclectic model including Halliday (2014) systematic functional grammar and Bloor and Bloor (2004) thematic progression patterns. The results show that economic news reports focus on presenting detailed information and facts of the negotiations between Iraq and Gazprom relying on multiple themes in order to draw the readers’ attention towards the topic and its importance. Moreover, the simple linear and constant themes are used more frequently to create a good sense of comprehension, rhythm and better realization of the details of the topic.

This brief explanation outlines three key topics in the work of a consecutive interpreter: the communication of the consecutive interpreter, their presence, and the effectiveness of their knowledge base. As a result, it is emphasized that the success of a consecutive interpreter in translation depends entirely on their experience and ability to manage the mutual communication between speakers. Furthermore, the consecutive interpreter can affirm their presence as an interpreter at various international conferences due to their effective communication and a knowledge base that includes two types of knowledge: linguistic and non-linguistic.

Cette étude met en avant la notion de l'Espace-Temps dans le roman de Michel Butor : La Modification. Il s'agit d'une œuvre où le voyage en train devient une métaphore centrale pour illustrer la fluidité et la transformation des repères spatio-temporels. Butor utilise le cadre restreint du compartiment de train comme un espace en mouvement reflétant à la fois le déplacement physique du protagoniste et ses bouleversements intérieurs. Dans La Modification, le temps quant à lui, est perçu à travers une narration qui entrelace le présent du voyage, les souvenirs du passé et les planisphères futurs.
Ce complexe en mouvement souligne une architecture narrative où l’espace et le temps ne sont pas fixes, mais dynamiques invitant le lecteur à une expérience immersive et introspective. Cette mobilité est un moteur de changement, à la fois dans l’action et dans la perception de soi.

Cette recherche vise à étudier l'effet des prépositions sur le sens dans les textes coraniques, en se référant aux similitudes et différences entre les langues arabe et française. L'étude porte sur des prépositions telles que "Bi", "an" et "li" en arabe et leurs équivalents en français comme "par", "sur" et "à".
En réalité, l'analyse repose sur une étude contrastive de douze versets coraniques choisis, traduits par différents traducteurs de divers origines culturels et religieux.
L'analyse révèle qu'il est extrêmement difficile de transmettre avec précision les significations des textes coraniques dans une autre langue, en raison de la nature spécifique des textes coraniques et de la multiplicité de leurs significations.
