Abstract

The significance of space in narrative texts stems from its role as a domain that encompasses both personal experience and events, while also contributing fundamentally to the artistic structure of literary work. From this perspective, the aesthetic qualities that narrative space imparts to the text can be observed through the diversity of its artistic possibilities. Accordingly, space emerges as an active element in narrative discourse, extending its influence across multiple semantic trajectories and carrying psychological, social, and symbolic dimensions. In this context, the character—conceived as a dynamic element—becomes a reflection of the tension between the spaces with and within which it interacts. This gives rise to a notable narrative phenomenon, manifested in the division of the character between two distinct spheres: a space of belonging and a space of estrangement.

تنبع أهمية المكان في النصوص السردية من كونه فضاءً يحتضن التجربة الشخصية والحدث من جهة، ويسهم بصورة جوهرية في تشكيل البنية الفنية للعمل الأدبي من جهة أخرى، ومن هنا، يمكن ملاحظة الخصائص الجمالية التي يضفيها المكان السردي على النص عبر تنوع إمكاناته الفنية.
وانطلاقًا من هذه الرؤية، غدا المكان عنصرًا فاعلًا في السرد، يمتد تأثيره إلى مسارات دلالية متعددة، حاملا أبعادًا نفسية واجتماعية ورمزية، وبذلك تصبح الشخصية، بوصفها عنصرًا متحركًا، انعكاسًا للصراع بين الأمكنة التي تتفاعل معها وداخلها، لتتجلى ظاهرة سردية لافتة تتمثل في انقسام تلك الشخصية بين فضاءين: فضاء الانتماء وفضاء التنافر

Displacement in Mustafa Jamal al-Din's Poetry: A Stylistic Study

Abstract

This research aims to examine the manifestations of deviation (linguistic and stylistic “defamiliarization”) in the poetry of Mustafa Jamal al-Din, by identifying its syntactic, semantic, and metaphorical forms, and by analyzing selected poetic examples from his work. The study reveals that deviation in Mustafa Jamal al-Din’s poetry is not merely a rhetorical device, but an effective mechanism for constructing a distinctive poetic experience that balances tradition and modernity, while granting the text continuously renewed semantic dimensions. It further demonstrates that the poet skillfully employed deviation as a means of enhancing his creative and expressive capacities, resulting in poetic texts rich in intellectual and artistic connotations that contribute to the enrichment of modern Arabic poetry. The findings also indicate that deviation played a significant role in enriching his poetic experience by introducing aesthetic and semantic dimensions that break conventional patterns and open new horizons for the reader’s interpretive engagement.

Abstract

يسعى هذا البحث إلى دراسة مظاهر الانزياح في شعر مصطفى جمال الدين، وذلك من خلال رصد أنواعه التركيبية والدلالية والمجازية وتحليل نماذج تطبيقية من شعره. ويكشف البحث أن الانزياح عند مصطفى جمال الدين لم يكن مجرد وسيلة بلاغية فحسب، وإنما أداة فاعلة في خلق تجربة شعرية متفردة توازن بين الأصالة والمعاصرة ، وتمنح النص بعداً دلالياً متجدد. كما يوضح أن الشاعر استطاع توظيف الانزياح لإبراز طاقته الإبداعية والتعبيرية، فجاءت نصوصه محمله بإيحاءات فكرية وفنية تثري الشعر العربي الحديث. كما تبين أن الانزياح أسهم في إثراء تجربته الشعرية وإضفاء أبعاد جمالية ودلالية تكسر المألوف وتفتح أفقًا جديدة أمام المتلقي. ومن هنا يبرز دور الانزياح بوصفه أداة أسلوبية مركزية في بناء النص الشعري الحديث وبذلك يسهم هذا البحث في إضاءة جوانب أسلوبية جديدة في شعر مصطفى جمال الدين ويؤكد على أهمية الانزياح في دراسة البنية الجمالية للنصوص الشعرية المعاصرة.

An Analytical Study of the Extent to Which Transitional Scaffolding Is Employed in Developing Receptive Language Skills among Second-Grade Intermediate Female Students in Al-Anbar Governorate

Abstract

The aim of this study was to conduct an analytical investigation into the extent to which transitional scaffolding is employed in developing receptive language skills among second-grade intermediate female students in Al-Anbar Governorate. The study adopted a quasi-descriptive analytical approach. The study population consisted of all Arabic language teachers in Al-Anbar Governorate, Iraq, while the sample was a purposive sample comprising (80) female teachers. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Among the most prominent findings was that the degree to which Arabic language female teachers employed transitional scaffolding skills was at a moderate level. In addition, no statistically significant differences were found between the mean scores of the overall degree of employing transitional scaffolding skills attributable to years of teaching experience

Abstract

كان الهدف من الدراسة القيام بدراسة تحليلية لمدى توظيف التهيئة الانتقالية في تنمية مهارات الاستقبال اللغوي لدى طالبات الصف الثاني المتوسط في محافظة الأنبار، واستخدم المنهج شبه الوصفي التحليلي، وتمثل المجتمع في الدراسة بجميع مدرسي اللغة العربية في محافظة الأنبار-العراق، أما العينة فكانت عينة قصدية مكونة من (80) مدرسة، وجمعت البيانات بالاستبانة، وقد كان من أبرز النتائج: أن درجة توظيف مدرسات اللغة العربية لمهارات التهيئة الانتقالية كان بدرجة متوسطة.
عدم وجود فروق دالة احصائياً بين المتوسطين الحسابيين للدرجة الكلية لدرجة توظيف مدرسي اللغة العربية لمهارات التهيئة الانتقالية تُعزى لسنوات الخبرة.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of university professors' facial expressions, as a core element of nonverbal communication, on student interaction. It hypothesizes that these expressions form a visual message that directly influences the educational context, attention, and emotion. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, a questionnaire was distributed to 110 students in the Arabic Language Department at Salahaddin University for the 2025-2026 academic year. The results revealed a statistically significant correlation: positive expressions (e.g., smiles) increased student participation, while negative ones (e.g., frowns) decreased it. The findings confirm the strong explanatory power of nonverbal cues in education, supporting global evidence of their profound impact, which can sometimes surpass words. The study recommends incorporating training on conscious use of body language and facial expressions into teacher development programs to enhance classroom interaction.

Abstract

يتناول هذا البحث قضيةً لغويةً دقيقة تتمثل في تعارض السماع والقياس في المعجم العربي، وهي من المسائل التي شغلت الدارسين منذ العصور الأولى للّغة، لما لها من أثر في بناء القاعدة اللغوية وتحديد معيار الفصاحة. يسعى البحث إلى رصد آراء الباحثين العرب القدماء والمحدثين في هذه المسألة، من خلال تحليل مواقفهم من أولوية السماع على القياس أو العكس، وبيان الأسس النظرية التي اعتمدها كل اتجاه في تفسير الظاهرة.
كما يتناول البحث انعكاس هذا التعارض على الصناعة المعجمية، وكيف تعامل المعجميون مع المفردات التي وردت سماعًا دون قياس أو العكس، مع عرض نماذج تطبيقية من المعاجم العربية الكبرى كـ«العين» و«الصحاح» و«لسان العرب».
وقد اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي المقارن، بالرجوع إلى المصادر التراثية والمعاجم الأصلية، فضلًا عن آراء اللغويين المعاصرين. وخلص البحث إلى أن التوفيق بين السماع والقياس ضرورة منهجية في بناء المعجم العربي، إذ إن الفصل بينهما يؤدي إلى اضطراب في تحديد المقبول والمرفوض لغويًا.

Abstract

This work examines the phenomenon of deviation in the poetry of Jamal al-Din ibn Ali al-Khulai’i, and concludes that deviation is a fundamental element in the doctrinal and emotional expression in al-Khulai’i’s poetry, making it a rich material for analysis. A man who knew the truth and followed it, and saw falsehood and rejected it. His loyalty and belief were not based on imitation or following, but rather came from insight and contemplation, and an abundance of blessings from the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) overwhelmed and engulfed him. So he took off the cloak of hatred and put on the garment of pride and allegiance, and to dedicate himself and his literature to raising the word of God in the good and pure family (peace be upon them), and to recite the most beautiful poems about his savior and our savior, and to be among the notables of Hilla in knowledge, jurisprudence and literature.

يبحث هذا العمل في ظاهرة الانزياح في شعر جمال الدين بن علي الخليعي، وتوصل إلى أن الانزياح يُعدّ عنصرًا أساسيًا في التعبير العقائدي والوجداني في شعر الخليعي، ما يجعله مادة غنية للتحليل رجل عرف الحق فاتبعه، ورأى الباطل فانكره، لم يكن ولاؤه وعقيدته عن تقليد أو اتباع وإنما جاء عن بصيرة وتدبر، وفيض من بركات أهل البيت (عليهم السلام) عمّه وغمره، فخلع رداء البغض وارتدى ثوب العزة والولاية، وليوقف نفسه وأدبه في إعلاء كلمة الله في الآل الطيبين الطاهرين(عليهم السلام) ولينشد في منجيه ومنجينا، أجمل الأشعار، وليكون من أعلام الحلة علما وفقها وأدبا.

Abstract

The issue of substitution (niyābah) constitutes one of the fundamental topics in Arabic grammar, as it elucidates the nature of the relationship between lexical items and meanings on the one hand, and highlights the phenomenon of semantic extension and expansion on the other. Moreover, this topic offers a significant benefit in reducing repetition through the use of a particular particle or instrument that substitutes, in meaning, for another. Such substitution inevitably leaves an effect on any text or context to which the instrument belongs. Grammarians have differed regarding the acceptance of substitution: some rejected it and considered it anomalous, while others acknowledged it, albeit under specific conditions. يعدُّ موضوع النيابة من الموضوعات النحوية الأساسية إذ يوضح طبيعة العلاقة بين الالفاظ، والمعاني من جهة، وتوضح مسألة التوسع في المعنى، وزيادته من جهة أخرى، فضلاً عمَّا يقدم هذا الموضوع من فائدة التقليل من مسألة التكرار، وذلك باستعمال أداة معينة تنوب في المعنى عن أداة أخرى، وهذا سيترك أثرًا في أي نصّ، أو سياق تنتمي إليه الأداة، وقد اختلف العلماء في أمر رفض النيابة، وعدوه شذوذًا، ومنهم مَنْ اعتراف به، ولكن بشروط، وقد اتخذت الباحثة منهجًا وصفيًا تحليليًا في الدراسة، والبحث.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of parallel triadic engineering in the novel Triangle of Death by Ali Lafta Saeed. It examines the idea of deliberate and fabricated death portrayed brutally within the country, analyzing the significance of the title through the symbolism of the “triangle” and its association with “death.” The study also highlights the emergence of gratuitous death as an artificially imposed cultural phenomenon.
Furthermore, it discusses the use of the engineering triangle as a narrative technique that contributes to shaping modern literary production. The research concludes that a clear relationship exists between mathematical engineering and novelistic narration, as both form an interconnected and integrative structure supporting the central narrative idea.
The findings indicate that modern technology has significantly influenced contemporary narrative forms, creating a link between scientific and theoretical dimensions. The study emphasizes that modern narrative experiences are increasingly associated with technological developments in literary works.

Abstract

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى توضيح مفهوم ( الهندسة الثلاثية المتوازية) في رواية (مثلث الموت) للروائي (علي لفته سعيد)،والتي ناقشت فكرة الموت المتعمد ، والمفتعل بطريقة وحشية داخل البلد ، ومعرفة فكرة العنونة بـ(مثلث) ، وربطه بـ(الموت) ، كما هدف البحث إلى إيضاح فكرة الموت المجاني في البلاد، والذي اصبح ثقافة جديدة دخلت بطريقة مفتعلة اليه.
وناقشت الدراسة تقانة توظيف تكنولوجيا المثلث الهندسي الذي أسس المشاركة المهمة في رسم حدود النتاجات الأدبية الحديثة.
وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى أنه ثمة علاقة بين (الهندسة الرياضية ،والسردية الروائية ) ، لايمكن تجاهلها ؛ لأنها تشكل سلسلة مترابطة ، ومتوازية، ومتكاملة المحاور، التي نسجت ، وصاغت الفكرة الأساس التي قامت عليها السردية.
وقد أظهرت النتائج أن التقنية الحديثة اثرت بصورة كبيرة على النتاجات الأدبية الحديثة ، والسردية منها خاصة ، مما أسس ارتباطاً جديداً بين الجانب العلمي ، والجانب النظري. ومن الأسباب التي دفعتني إلى الولوج في عالم الرواية الهندسي هو عنونة الرواية ، وطريقة توظيف التكنولوجيا الحديثة بتطوراتها المختلفة داخل السرديات الروائية، فقد ارتبطت تجربة السرد الحديثة في الكثير من النتاجات ارتباطاً مباشراً بالتكنلوجيا الحديثة.

This, if it indicates anything, indicates the strength and soundness of his speech, and the eloquence of his expression, which affects everyone who hears it If his prose text has such a profound impact on the reader due to its eloquence, fluency, and sophistication, then what about his poetry? Undoubtedly, his poetry is rich in morphological structures and grammatical constructions that deserve study and analysis. سنُخصِّص القلم في هذا البحث العلميّ للحديث عن نصّ شعريّ لشيخ من شيوخ المنبر الحُسينيّ, الذي عُرِف بحنكته وأسلوبه السهل الممتنع في الخطابة, وتأثيره لا يتوقّف عند جيل واحد فقط بل يمتدّ إلى الأجيال اللاحقة, وهذا إن دلّ على شيء فيدلّ على قوّة كلامه ورصانته, وبلاغة تعبيره الذي يؤثّر في كل مَنْ يسمعه, فإنْ كان نصّه النّثريّ له هذا الأثر الكبير في المتلقّي لِمَا يحمل في طيّاته من بلاغة وفصاحة ورصانة, فما بالك بنصّه الشّعريّ وممّا لا شكّ فيه أنّ نصّه الشّعريّ مادّة ثريّة بالأبنية الصّرفيّة, والتّراكيب النّحويّة التي تستحقّ الدّراسة وتسليط القلم عليها, وقد دُرِس الجانب النّحويّ في شعره, والآن عَزَمتُ ـــــ بعد التّوكُّل على الله ـــــ على دراسة الجانب الصّرفيّ في شعره؛ فالله أسأل التّوفيق والسّداد. أمَّا الأبنية الصّرفيّة فلها أثر كبير في تحديد المعنى وتخصيصه؛ إذ إنّ كلّ بناءٍ له معنى لا يدلُّ عليه غيره، وبالتّالي فإنّها إحدى الأركان اللّغويّة التي يتَّكئ عليها النّصّ.

تهدف الدراسة إلى تحليل أثر تعابير وجه الأساتذة الجامعيين، في تفاعل الطلاب ومشاركتهم في القاعة الدراسية. منطلقة من فرضية أن هذه التعابير تشكّل (رسالة) بصرية متزامنة مع الرسالة اللفظية، وتؤثر بشكل مباشر في وظائف السياق والانتباه والعاطفة ضمن العملية التواصلية التعليمية. واعتمدت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، فتمّ توزيع استبيان على عينة قوامها 110 طالبا وطالبة من قسم اللغة العربية في كلية اللغات التابعة لجامعة صلاح الدين للعام الأكاديمي 2025-2026. وتمّ عن طريق الاستبيان قياس إدراك الطلبة لتعابير وجه الأساتذة (الإيجابية والسلبية) وعلاقتها بمستوى مشاركتهم. وأظهرت النتائج وجود ارتباط ذي دلالة إحصائية بين تعابير الوجه الإيجابية (كالابتسامة وتعابير الوجه المشجعة) وزيادة تفاعل الطلبة ومشاركتهم. في المقابل، ارتبطت التعابير السلبية (كالعبوس والتجهّم) بانخفاض مستوى المشاركة. وأكدت النتائج على القوة التفسيرية الكبيرة للتواصل غير اللفظي في البيئة التعليمية، مما يدعم الدراسات العالمية التي تثبت تأثيره البالغ الذي قد يفوق الكلمات أحياناً. وتوصي الدراسة بأهمية تضمين تدريب الأساتذة على الوعي باستخدام لغة الجسد وتعابير الوجه بوصفه استراتيجية تدريسية لتحفيز التفاعل في القاعة الدراسية.

Narrative Rebellion in the Novel Gog Nazar by Aziz Al-Shaabani: An Analytical Study of Dual Subversion—Narrative and Social—through Metanarrative Techniques

Abstract

This study examines the representation of marginalized groups in Gog Nazr, focusing on its use of Metafiction to deconstruct two parallel structures: social exclusion and traditional narrative form. The novel engages with Iraq’s political and social upheavals, some rooted in the Ottoman period, which have pushed many individuals into marginalization and moral collapse. The study argues that the novel does not portray the marginalized as passive figures, but grants them narrative agency that destabilizes the authority of the narrator and the storytelling system. Through exposing the mechanisms of writing, the narrative reveals a troubled narrative consciousness reflecting a crisis of meaning in Iraqi reality. The study also analyzes the novel’s fragmented language and structure as aesthetic strategies that parallel the subversion of political and cultural power. It concludes that Gog Nazr produces a dual critical discourse that exposes real-world marginalization while simultaneously undermining the certainty of the novelistic form, turning narrative into a subtle act of resistance.

تسعى هذه الدراسة إلى مقاربة تمثيل المهمّشين في رواية (گوگ نزر) إذ تستند هذه الرواية إلى تقنيات ما وراء السرد (Metafiction) بوصفها أداة لتفكيك بنيتين متوازيتين: بنية الإقصاء الاجتماعي وبنية السرد التقليدي. فالرواية تعالج ما شهده العراق من تقلّبات سياسية واجتماعية تعود جذور بعضها إلى الحقبة العثمانية، تلك التقلّبات التي دفعت –ولمّا تزل-بالكثير من الناس إلى الغوص في أعماق الرذيلة ودفنتهم تحت وطأة التهميش والإقصاء. كما تنطلق الدراسة من فرضية مفادها أن الرواية لا تكتفي بتمثيل المهمّشين اجتماعيًّا بوصفهم أشخاصًا غير فاعلين، بل تمنحهم فاعلية سردية تُزعزع مركزية الراوي والسلطة الحكائية. كما تكشف عبر فضح آليات الكتابة عن وعي سردي مأزوم يعكس أزمة المعنى في الواقع العراقي. كما تعالج الدراسة لغة الرواية وبنيتها المتشظية، بوصفها أداة تقويض موازية لتقويض السلطة السياسية والثقافية. وتخلص إلى أن (گوگ نزر) تُنجز خطابًا نقديًّا مزدوجًا، يعرّي آليات التهميش في الواقع، ويقوّض في الوقت نفسه يقين الشكل الروائي، جاعلًا من السرد فعل مقاومة ناعمة.

The findings demonstrate that conjunctions do not merely link sentences; they connect them within logical and contextual frameworks, ensuring a smooth sequence of events and clarity of meaning, while preserving the cohesion of the Qur’anic text. Furthermore, the study highlights a significant resonance between the ideas of classical Arab grammarians and contemporary discourse analysis. Abstract

With refined sensitivity and linguistic awareness, the poet seeks to enrich his poetic text with simple and widely shared meanings, sometimes moving beyond established linguistic norms. In doing so, he aims to achieve artistic quality without compromising the integrity of language, instead endowing it with new connotations. This tendency has led poetry to adopt new ways of using meanings and vocabulary, particularly colloquial expressions, to reveal fresh dimensions of language. The rise of new poetic experiences has been accompanied by the development of a linguistic mode that departs from traditional frameworks and moves toward a more accessible and open expression. This tendency is most effectively realized in everyday spoken language. However, this does not imply vulgarity or stylistic weakness that might diminish poetic value. Rather, modern poets benefit from everyday language because it is dynamic and evolving, granting poetry a sense of novelty and originality, and reinforcing the close relationship between poetry and spoken language.

يسعى الشاعر بإحساسه المرهف، وسمعه اللغوي الدقيق إلى أن يرفد نسيج نصِّه الشّعري بمعانٍ سهلة ومتداولة يعرفها الناس جميعاً متجاوزاً القاعدة، يطلب السمة الفنية من حيث لا يسيء إلى اللغة وإنّما يشحنها بدلالات جديدة ، الأمر الذي جعل من الشعر ينحى منحًى جديداً في توظيف المعاني والمفردات لاسيما العامية منها؛ للكشف عن الجوانب الجديدة في اللغة، فالتجربة الجديدة ليست إلا لغة جديدة غادرت دائرة اللغة التراثية متجهة على نحو الحذر صوب اللغة السهلة غير المنغلقة، ولم تجد ذلك إلا في اللغة المحكية اليومية ولا يعني ذلك صناعة الابتذال الواضح والركاكة المخلة التي تسيء إلى لغة القصيدة ، ومن هنا توجه الشعراء المحدثين إلى الافادة من لغة الكلام المحكي لأنّها لاتقف في مكان وزمان ثابت؛ بل لأنّها متغيرة تعطي للشعر سمة من الجدة والطرافة وهكذا نجد أنَّ النص الشعري الذي ينتجه الشعراء الرواد يأتي معظمه وفق نظرتهم للشعر ولدوره الذي يؤمن بهذه العلاقة بين الشعر والكلام المحكي.

Abstract

This study offers a conceptual approach to addressing the problem of distinguishing between Classical Arabic and Modern Arabic, moving beyond the rigid binary perspective that presupposes a rupture between two separate stages. It proceeds from the premise that Arabic constitutes a dynamic, multi-layered system in which linguistic elements from different historical periods coexist within an accumulated and organically continuous structure that adapts to change. The study seeks to deconstruct the ideological connotations attached to the terms Classical and Modern, examining how the former has been elevated to an ideal normative model, while the latter has acquired contradictory associations ranging from perceived weakness to renewal. It also critically analyzes the adequacy of various criteria used to delineate boundaries between the two stages. Furthermore, the study proposes a reconceptualization of the relationship as a dynamic continuum in the form of “linguistic spectrum” or “continuous” the most appropriate choice for each context.

يقدم البحث مقاربةً مفهوميةً لمعالجة إشكالية التمييز بين العربية القديمة والحديثة، متجاوزاً النظرة الثنائية الجامدة التي تفترض قطيعةً بين مرحلتين منفصلتين. ينطلق من فرضية أن العربية تشكّل نظاماً ديناميكياً متعدد الطبقات، تتعايش فيه عناصر لغوية من عصور مختلفة في نسيج متراكم ضمن استمرارية عضوية متكيّفة مع التحولات. يسعى البحث إلى تفكيك الدلالات الإيديولوجية الملتصقة بمصطلحي القديم والحديث، وكيف تحوّل الأول إلى نموذج معياري مثالي، بينما حمل الثاني دلالات متناقضة بين الضعف والتجديد. كما يحلّل نقدياً مدى كفاية المعايير المختلفة في رسم حدود بين المرحلتين. ويقترح البحث تصوّراً لعلاقة ديناميكية على شكل "طيف لغوي" أو "سلسلة متصلة" يتحرك عليها المتحدث بين أنماط من العربية القديمة إلى العامية الدارجة، وفق قواعد اجتماعية تحكم اختيار الأنسب لكل سياق. ويؤكد أن مستقبل العربية يكمن في قدرتها على الحفاظ على الحوار الخلاق بين طبقاتها الزمنية، والاستفادة من موروثها، بما يمكنها من الصمود والتجدد في مواجهة العولمة والثورة الرقمية مع الحفاظ على جوهر هويتها.

تناولَ موضوعُ البحثِ (الأثر النفسيُّ للأبنيةِ الصَّرفيَّةِ دراسةٌ دلاليَّةٌ تحْليِليَّة لنماذجٍ مُختارة لكلماتٍ من القرآن الكريم)، إذ إنَّ دراسة الأثر النفسي في الصيّغ الصرّفية، هي دراسة تجمع بيْن علم الصرّف وعلم النفس اللّغويّ، فضلًا عن علم الدلالة، والتي تهدفُ إلى كشفِ العلاقاتِ بيّن الأبنية الصرّفية ودلالتها النفسيّة وأثرها بالمتلقي.
وبيّن البحث أنَّ اختيار السياق القرآني للأبنية الصرّفية، لم يكنْ اختيارًا اعتباطيًا، بل كان دقيقًا؛ لأهداف محددة ذات تأثير نفسي عميق، بما يناسب سياق الآية ومقّصدِها، فضلًا عن أنَّ البنية الصرّفية في السياق القرآني هي وحدة هندسية متكاملة انمازتْ بالدقة، فلا تتوقف وظيفتها عند حدودِ دلالتِها المعجمية، بلْ تمتد لِتُشكّل هيكلًا شعوريًا يؤثر في نفس المتلقي.
أمّا الغاية من كتابةِ البحثِ واختيار موضوع الأثرُ النفسيُّ للأبنيةِ الصَّرفيَّةِ (دراسةٌ دلاليَّةٌ تحْليِليَّة، في نماذجَ مُخْتارةٍ مِنَ القُرآنِ الكرِيمِ، فهي لأثبات أنَّ البنية الصرّفية في القرآن الكريم، هي روح وليس مجرد قالبٍ ذي دلالةٍ مُعجميةٍ، فضلًا عن أنَّها رسالة نفسية قبل أنْ تكون قالبًا لغويًّا، فضلًا عن الكشفِ عن إيحاءات الأبنية الصرّفيّة؛ لاستنتاج المعاني الثانوية خلف تلك الأبنيّة ودلالتها العميقة . أمّا المنهج المتبع في كتابة البحث، فهو منهج وصفي تحليلي مع توظيف آليات التحليل الدلالي السياقي. وقد اعتمد البحث على مجموعةٍ من المصادر القديمة والحديثة.

يسلط البحث الضوء على المصادر التي اعتمدها ابن سيده في كتبه، ومن تلك المصادر ابن السكّيت، فيتناول الروايات التي ينقلها عن ابن السكّيت، ويوازنها مع الروايات الأصلية الواردة في كتب ابن السكّيت كالألفاظ وإصلاح المنطق، ومدى أمانته في نقله للرواية بلا زيادة أو نقصان، والإشارة إلى الروايات التي أزاد فيها أو التي أنقص منها، وكذلك نقد تلك الروايات، وطريقة ترجيحه للأصوب من الألفاظ، وكذلك طريقته في نقل الأعلام للرواية، واضطرابه في نقل الرواية من خلال كتابيه المخصص والمحكم والمحيط الأعظم، وترجيحه للرأي في أحدهما و وتخطئته في الرأي نفسه في الآخر، ومدى تأثير الخطأ الذي يقع فيه على المعجمات المتأخرة التي لا تتحرى الدقة والتثبت بالرجوع إلى أصل الكتاب وإنما تُسلّم بروايات ابن سيده تسليمًا مطلقًا.
فوجدناه في نقله لبعض رواياته عن ابن السكّيت قد جانبه الصواب في الترجيح، وتارة يغلّط ابن السكيت توهمًا منه، وينقل من كتب ابن السكّيت دون تحري الدقة، ويروي عنه كلام لم يقله، فكانت دراسة نقد وموازنة لابن سيده فيما رواه عن ابن السكيت.

It shows how linguistic structures establish logical justifications, lead to persuasive outcomes, and produce specific communicative effects.

: يَسعَى هذا البَحثُ المَوسُومُ بـ (القَرائِنُ الصَّرفيَّةُ وأثرها في التَّحلِيلِ الصَّرفيِّ لِلآياتِ المُتعلِّقةِ بِأهلِ البَيتِ -عليهِمُ السَّلامُ-) إلى الوُقوفِ على أبرزِ القَرائِنِ الصَّرفيَّةِ وبَيانِ أهمّيّتِها وإيضاح أثرِها في التّحليلِ الصّرفيِّ في هذه الآياتِ القرآنيّةِ المُبارَكةِ، ولا يَخفى أنّ اللّغةَ العربيّةَ تَنمازُ بِدقَّةِ نَظمِها، وتَعدُّدِ وسائلِ التَّعبيرِ عَنِ المَعاني، وتَعدُّدِ وسائلِ الكَشفِ عَنْها، ومِن أبرزِها ما يُعرَفُ اليومَ بـ(القَرائِنِ الصَّرفيّةِ)، حيثُ تُمثِّلُ هذه القرائنُ جانبًا مُهمًّا في الدَّرسِ اللُّغويِّ؛ إذْ إنّها تُعِينُ على فَهمِ الدَّلالات المُختلِفَةِ الّتي تحملُها بِنيةُ الكلمةِ، وتَكشِفُ عنْ وظائفِها داخلَ السّياقاتِ اللّغويّةِ المُختلِفةِ، وممّا يجعلُها ذاتَ أهمّيّةٍ أنّها غيرُ مُقيَّدةٍ بالصّرفِ فقط، بل تَتداخلُ معَ العلومِ الأُخرى كَعِلمِ النَّحوِ؛ إذْ تُوضِّحُ العلاقةَ بينَ الألفاظِ المَوجُودةِ في التّركِيبِ الواحدِ، وذلك عن طَرِيقِ المُطابَقَةِ بينَ الفعلِ وفاعِلِهِ ونائِبِ فاعِلِهِ، وبينَ الصّفةِ والمَوصُوفِ، وتَتداخلُ معَ عِلمِ البلاغةِ في بابَيِ البَيانِ والمَعاني، حيثُ تُوضِّحُ الفروقَ الدَّقيقةَ بينَ الألفاظِ المُتقارِبةِ، وتكشفُ عنْ جمالياتِ تلك الألفاظِ، واستُعمِلَ في هذا البحثِ كلٌّ مِنَ المَنهَجِ الوصفيِّ والمَنهَجِ التّحليليِّ، ومن الدّراسات السّابقة الّتي تناولت القرائنَ الصّرفيّةَ هي بحثٌ بعنوان (القرائنُ الصّرفيّةُ وأثرُها في التّحليلِ الصّرفيِّ عند أبي القاسم الزّجّاجيّ) للباحثة حوراء فاضل جدّاح، و أ.د. آلاء عبد نعيم.

Following the invasion of the island of Cyprus by Turkish forces and Turkey’s use of NATO weaponry, the United States imposed a military embargo on Turkey. The Soviet Union exploited the ensuing disagreements between Turkey and the United States, which led to a rapprochement between the two sides and the signing of a political document between them. This development provoked concern in the United States, prompting its government to exert pressure on the U.S. Congress to lift the embargo on Turkey, distance it from the Soviet Union, and restore the use of military bases in Turkey.

بعد غزو القوات التركية جزيرة قبرص واستعمالها سلاح حلف شمال الاطلسي فرضت الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية الحظر العسكري عليها، وقد استغل الاتحاد السوفييتي الخلافات بين تركيا والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، وحصل تقارب بين الطرفين، وتم توقيع الوثيقة السياسية بينهما، الأمر الذي أثار الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، وتوجه حكومتها بالضغط على الكونغرس الأمريكي، لرفع الحظر عن تركيا ، وأبعادها عن الاتحاد السوفييتي. وإعادة استعمال القواعد العسكرية في تركيا.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover the role of judges and their activities in the construction and development of the judicial system. Egyptian society had been subject to Roman authority, under which Roman administrative and legal systems were implemented. Following the Islamic conquest of Egypt, however, the nature of life in the country changed at all political, economic, and social levels. The Rightly Guided Caliphs undertook the implementation of Islamic systems in governance, assigning this task to distinguished Companions and judges from Egypt, who were entrusted with transforming the former administrative and judicial system. Judges from other Islamic regions also played a significant role, particularly the judges of Ascalon, who enriched the system through their knowledge and expertise. As a result, Egyptian society adopted Islamic systems in which justice and equality prevailed, oppression was removed, rights were affirmed, and transgression against others was prohibited. The study is divided into three sections: the judiciary and its importance, the Mamluk state, and the judges of Ascalon in Egypt during the Mamluk era.

تهدف هذه الدراسة الى الكشف عن دور القضاة ونشاطهم في بناء النظام القضائي وتطويره. فقد كان المجتمع المصري خاضعاً للسلطة الرومانية وطبقت فيه أنظمة هذه السلطة، وبعد الفتح الإسلامي لمصر تغيرت طبيعة الحياة على كافة المستويات السياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية في هذا البلد، فعمل الخلفاء الراشدين على تطبيق الأنظمة الإسلامية في إدارة الحكم في هذا البلد، وقد اختير لهذه المهمة خيرة الصحابة وغيرهم من القضاة من مصر الذين أوكلت إليهم مهمة تغيير النظام الإداري القديم بما في ذلك النظام القضائي، وكان للقضاة من البلدان الإسلامية الأخرى أثر ومساهمة كبيرة في تطوير الأنظمة الإدارية والقضائية في مصر، وعلى رأسهم قضاة عسقلان الذين أثروا النظام الإداري بعلومهم ومعارفهم، وبعد هذا الإنجاز أصبح المجتمع المصري يتبع الأنظمة الإسلامية التي انتشر بها مبدأ العدل والمساواة ورفع الظلم وإقرار الحقوق وعدم الاعتداء على الآخرين، وقد قسم البحث إلى ثلاثة مباحث، المبحث الأول: تعريف القضاء وأهميته، المبحث الثاني: دراسة عن دولة المماليك. المبحث الثالث: دراسة عن قضاة عسقلان في مصر في العصر المملوكي.

Abstract

This research addresses the clarification of the military role during the period of the governors and the manner in which it was developed in al-Andalus in the era spanning 92–138 AH. During this period, the Islamic state faced numerous challenges and difficulties, including complex security, political, and administrative issues arising from the geographical nature of the region and the diversity of its social components. Consequently, most governors in al-Andalus undertook the reconstruction and reorganization of the military structure. The study also aims to explain and analyze the ways in which the governors dealt with various revolts, which constituted a serious and direct threat to internal stability under their rule. This research examines the strategies and plans devised by these governors to confront all challenges and external incursions, as well as the defensive and offensive methods they implemented to achieve victory. Support was directed toward the frontier regions, their fortifications were strengthened, and periodic campaigns of a preventive nature were organized in order to assess conditions before they escalated beyond control.

وكذلك تهدف الدراسة إلى توضيح وتحليل الطريقة التي تعامل بها الولاة في البلاد مع جميع الثورات ، وكانت تشكل تهديد خطير ومباشر على الاستقرار الداخلي لحكم الولاة ، وتطرقنا في هذا البحث إلى الاستراتيجيات والخطط التي رسمها هؤلاء الولاة لكي يتمكنوا من مواجهة كافة التحديات والغزوات الخارجية والأساليب الدفاعية، وكذلك الهجومية التي تمكنوا من تطبيقها وتحقيق الانتصار من خلالها ، وتم توجيه الدعم للثغور وتحصينها ، وترتيب حملات بين الحين والأخر وتكون ذات طبيعة وقائية لمعرفة الوضع قبل خروجه عن السيطرة .

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of climate change on vegetation cover and thermal conditions in northern and northeastern Wasit Governorate between 2005 and 2025 using remote sensing data and GIS techniques. Several indices were applied, including the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Soil-Adjusted Vegetation Index (SAVI), vegetation condition and health indices (VCI, VHI, TCI), and Land Surface Temperature (LST). The results indicate significant spatial and temporal variability in climatic conditions, directly influencing land cover dynamics. Large areas experienced moderate to severe dryness, while humid zones remained limited. This was associated with a clear decline in vegetation cover and increased thermal stress. The findings also reveal an inverse relationship between vegetation and thermal indices, suggesting that reduced vegetation contributes to higher surface temperatures. Overall, the study highlights the strong interdependence between climate, vegetation, and temperature in regions with high climatic variability.

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل أثر التغيرات المناخية على الغطاء النباتي والظروف الحرارية في الجزء الشمالي والشمالي الشرقي من محافظة واسط خلال المدة (2005–2025)، من خلال تطبيق مؤشرات مناخية ونباتية وحرارية مشتقة من بيانات الاستشعار عن بعد ونظم المعلومات الجغرافية، شملت مؤشر الجفاف القياسي(SPI) ومؤشر الغطاء النباتي (NDVI) ومؤشر التربة المعدّل (SAVI) ومؤشرات الحالة والصحة النباتية (VCI, VHI, TCI) إضافةً إلى مؤشر حرارة سطح الأرض (LST) .وقد أظهرت النتائج تذبذبًا مكانيًا وزمانيًا في الظروف المناخية انعكس بصورة مباشرة على الغطاء الأرضي، إذ كشفت مساحات واسعة من المنطقة عن جفاف معتدل إلى متوسط مقابل محدودية المناطق الرطبة، مع تسجيل تراجع ملحوظ في الغطاء النباتي وارتفاع في الإجهاد الحراري. كما بين التحليل وجود علاقة عكسية بين مؤشرات الحرارة ومؤشرات الغطاء النباتي، بما يدل على أن فقدان الغطاء الخضري يسهم في ارتفاع حرارة السطح وتسارع الإجهاد الحراري. وتؤكد الدراسة الترابط الوثيق بين المناخ والنبات والحرارة في بيئات تتسم بالتقلب المناخي.

Abstract

The concept of divine emanation in the sources of Islamic legislation, namely the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Hadith, is of paramount importance. It encompasses all the blessings bestowed upon God's creation, including guidance to the paths of goodness and righteousness. The concept of emanation is clearly mentioned in the verses of the Wise Reminder (the Quran) as a manifestation of divine support. It appears with diverse meanings, including the emanation of divine mercy, the light of divine majesty and guidance, and the blessings of this world and the hereafter. The verse "He manages the night and the day" (Quran 17:20) is one of the most prominent manifestations of divine power, repeatedly referenced in the Holy Quran to indicate divine decrees governing the workings of the universe. From the verses concerning divine management and emanations, it is understood that God Almighty oversees the movements of the universe.

This study aims to examine the relationship between women’s employment in the public education sector and family size, as well as to explore the factors influencing their decisions regarding family size, such as age, age at marriage, educational level, housing conditions, housing ownership, and income level. The study is based on a sample of female employees working in the public education sector, to whom a questionnaire was administered. The findings led to a number of conclusions and recommendations aimed at improving the conditions of working women in the public education sector in Al-Kūt District, in a way that enables them to balance their responsibilities both outside and inside the home without negative consequences for themselves or their families.

Abstract

This research examines the mythological dimension in the portrayal of caliphs during the early Abbasid period as reflected in a range of historical and literary sources. It demonstrates how historical reality became intertwined with mythological and symbolic elements in constructing the image of the caliph. This interweaving contributed to attributing a sacred and exceptional character to the caliph, thereby reinforcing his status and authority within the collective consciousness of Abbasid society.
The study reveals that some historians and transmitters resorted to narratives infused with marvelous and extraordinary elements—such as associating caliphs with divine selection or noble lineage—in order to consolidate the legitimacy of Abbasid rule and affirm its rightful claim to the caliphate. This image was also shaped by the diverse cultural heritages prevalent in the early Abbasid era, particularly Persian and religious traditions, which further deepened the mythological dimension of historical discourse.

This study examines the frequency of dust storms in Iraq and traces their trajectories. Data recorded at ten meteorological stations distributed across the country were analyzed. The results reveal the existence of seven principal dust-storm pathways affecting Iraq, identified through an examination of major local and regional dust sources and the analysis of satellite imagery. The findings indicate pronounced seasonal variability in dust-storm occurrence rates. The highest frequency was recorded in spring, with an average of 1.9 days, followed by summer at 1.2 days. In contrast, the frequencies declined to 0.5 days in winter and 0.4 days in autumn. The results further show that the total number of dust-storm days influencing Iraq’s climate during the study period reached 1,325 days. The highest annual frequency across all stations was observed in 2008, with a total of 93 days, whereas the lowest frequency occurred in 1998 and 2019, each recording 9 days.

تتناول هذه الدراسة تكرار العواصف الغبارية في العراق وتتبع مساراتها، وتم تحليل البيانات المسجلة في عشر محطات للإرصاد الجوية موزعة في عموم العراق، وكشفت النتائج عن وجود سبع مسارات رئيسية للعواصف الغبارية في العراق من خلال دراسة المصادر الرئيسية للغبار محلياً واقليمياً، ومتابعة صور الأقمار الصناعية، وتظهر النتائج وجود تباين فصلي في معدلات حدوث العواصف الغبارية، إذ سُجل أعلى معدل تواتر لها خلال فصل الربيع بلغ (1,9) يوماً، يليه فصل الصيف بمعدل تكرار بلغ (1,2) يوماً، بينما بلغت معدلات التكرار (0,5) يوماً خلال فصل الشتاء و(0,4) يوماً خلال فصل الخريف، كما تشير النتائج أن إجمالي عدد العواصف الغبارية المؤثرة في مناخ العراق خلال مدة الدراسة بلغت (1325) يوماً، سُجِّل أعلى تكرار للعواصف الغبارية في جميع المحطات خلال عام (2008) بمجموع بلغ (93) يوماً، وكان أقل تكرار في الأعوام (1998) و(2019) بمجموع بلغ (9) يوماً.

Abstract

The importance of agriculture at the present time is evident as a key economic activity in the study area, as it provides employment opportunities for the population in addition to supplying a wide variety of agricultural crops. The total area of the study region amounts to 412,875 dunams, encompassing agricultural lands, rural settlements, the center of Al-Nuʿmāniyah city, and forested areas. The agricultural land constitutes 144,316 dunams, of which 102,947 dunams were actually cultivated during the 2024–2025 agricultural season. However, agricultural activity in the study area faces numerous constraints. These include natural factors such as climate and its elements, as well as human-related challenges, including issues associated with irrigation water, marketing, urban encroachment, fires, and other obstacles.

تبرز أهمية الزراعة في الوقت الحاضر بكونها الحرفة الاقتصادية المهمة في منطقة الدراسة لأنها توفر فرص عمل للسكان فضلاً عن ما توفره من مختلف المحاصيل الزراعية وعلى اختلاف أنواعها إذ بلغ حجم المساحة الكلية لمنطقة الدراسة (412875) دونماً تمثلت بمساحة الأراضي الزراعية والقرى ومركز مدينة النعمانية وأراضي الغابات ، في حين بلغت المساحة الزراعية(144316) دونماً بلغت المساحة المزروعة فعلاً (102947) دونماً من مجموع المساحة الزراعية للموسم الزراعي(2024-2025)، توجد العديد من المعوقات التي يعاني منها النشاط الزراعي ضمن منطقة الدراسة منها متعلقة بالجانب الطبيعي كالمناخ وعناصره ومنها تخص الجانب البشري كالمشاكل المتعلقة بمياه الري والتسويق والزحف العمراني والحرائق وغيرها .

Abstract

This research is grounded in the Qur’anic foundation that affirms the unity of human origin and rejects discrimination based on race, tribe, creed, or religion, and regards peaceful coexistence and human dignity as fundamental principles governing relations among societies. The concept of Islam reflects the meaning of peace and includes an ethical and legal system that promotes conflict resolution and social harmony. Islamic history offers practical models of coexistence between Muslims and non-Muslims, particularly in Medina as the first Islamic state, where the Charter of Medina, proclaimed by Muhammad, represents an early model for organizing religious and social pluralism based on citizenship, justice, and cooperation. However, the contemporary reality of the Islamic world reveals growing challenges to such coexistence amid increasing internal conflicts and divisions among Islamic groups. This highlights the urgent need to reassess the Islamic approach to peaceful coexistence and reinterpret it in light of its textual foundations and historical experience.

ينطلق هذا البحث من الأساس القرآني الذي يؤكد وحدة الأصل الإنساني ونبذ التمييز على أساس العرق أو العشيرة أو العقيدة أو الدين، بعَد التعايش السلمي وكرامة الإنسان قاعدة للعلاقات بين المجتمعات، ويعكس مفهوم الإسلام ذاته دلالة السلام، كما تتضمن تعاليمه منظومة أخلاقية وتشريعية تدعو إلى حل النزاعات وإرساء السلم المجتمعي.
ويُظهر التاريخ الإسلامي نماذج عملية للتعايش بين المسلمين وغير المسلمين، ولا سيما في المدينة المنورة بوصفها أول دولة إسلامية، حيث شكّل (ميثاق المدينة) الذي أعلنه النبي محمد (ص) ، أنموذجاً مبكراً لتنظيم التعدد الديني والاجتماعي على أسس المواطنة والعدالة والتعاون.
غير أن واقع العالم الإسلامي المعاصر يكشف عن تحديات متزايدة في تحقيق ذلك التعايش في ظل تصاعد النزاعات الداخلية والانقسامات بين الجماعات الإسلامية ذاتها، مما يبرز الحاجة إلى مراجعة الموقف الإسلامي من التعايش وإعادة قراءته في ضوء أصوله النصية وتجربته التاريخية.

Abstract

This research explores urban planning strategies to mitigate the impact of dust storms, a critical climate change challenge, through the lens of sustainable development. By analyzing meteorological data from four stations in Wasit Governorate (Al-Kut, Al-Hay, Al-Aziziyah, and Badra) between 2010 and 2021, the study identifies storm patterns and frequencies. The primary objective is to align urban growth with the eleventh Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 11) by evaluating city master plans from their inception to the present. Urban planning is utilized as a tool to reshape social behavior and environmental reality, identifying key indicators of urban fabric transformation. The study addresses planning deficiencies and the rising demand for services to minimize environmental and health risks. Findings reveal that Wasit Governorate suffers from frequent dust storms, particularly during spring and summer, necessitating modern planning approaches to enhance urban resilience and reduce climate-related damages.

Abstract

This study aims to shed light on the Islamic economic doctrine in terms of its concept, defining features, intellectual foundations, ethical principles, and the role played by authority in its development. Abstract

This study examines the commercial role of Basra between 1831 and 1869, highlighting its strategic geographical position as Iraq’s main maritime outlet and a key commercial hub connecting the Arabian Gulf and India. The year 1831 marks the end of Mamluk rule and the beginning of direct Ottoman administration, which contributed to the revival and growth of trade activities in the city. The study also ends in 1869, coinciding with the appointment of Midhat Pasha as governor of Baghdad, a period associated with further administrative reforms that strengthened Basra’s economic importance. The research is divided into three sections: the first explores Basra’s commercial development up to the nineteenth century and the growing interest of European powers in its strategic location; the second analyzes the expansion of trade during 1831–1869; and the third identifies major imports and exports. Basra exported dates, grains, wool, horses, and hides, while importing spices, silk textiles, pepper, medicines, rice, sugar, and dyes mainly from India.

يهدف البحث إلى تسليط الضوء على دور البصرة التجاري خلال المدة (1831-1869)، وجاء اختيار عام 1831 بداية للبحث، لأنه شهد سقوط حكم المماليك في العراق (1749-1831)، وعودة الحكم العثماني المباشر للعراق، والذي أدى إلى ازدهار النشاط التجاري في البصرة، ويمثل عام 1869 نهاية البحث، تولي الوالي المصلح مدحت باشا ولاية بغداد(1869-1872) مما عزز دور البصرة التجاري.
قسم البحث الى ثلاثة مباحث، تناول المبحث الأول النشاط التجاري للبصرة حتى القرن التاسع عشر، خاصة بعد أن أدركت القوى الاستعمارية الأوربية أهميتها الاستراتيجية، أما المبحث الثاني فتناول توسع البصرة التجاري خلال المدة 1831-1869، أما المبحث الثالث فتضمن أهم الواردات والصادرات، إذ صدّرت البصرة سلعاً متنوعة، مثل التمور والخيول والحبوب والصوف والجلود، بينما كانت وارداتها تأتي أساساً من الهند، وتشمل التوابل والأقمشة الحريرية والفلفل والأدوية والرز والسكر والاصباغ.

يسعى هذا البحث إلى تحليل التأصيل التشريعي لرقابة الأتمتة المالية في العراق، مسلطاً الضوء على مدى استيعاب المنظومة القانونية لمخرجات نظام معلومات الإدارة المالية (IFMIS). وتتبلور مشكلة البحث في الفجوة التشريعية القائمة بين متطلبات التحول الرقمي والقواعد الرقابية التقليدية المتبعة. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، اعتمد الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي والنقدي لتفكيك نصوص قانون الإدارة المالية الاتحادية رقم (6) لسنة 2019، وقانون التوقيع الإلكتروني رقم (78) لسنة 2012. وقد توصل البحث إلى نتائج جوهرية، أبرزها أن الأتمتة تعد (حتمية تشريعية) لإنفاذ المادتين (16 و34)، وأن المخرجات الرقمية تتمتع بحجية إثباتية قطعية لا تقل عن المستندات الورقية. كما شخّص البحث وجود قصور وانفصال تشريعي في قانون ديوان الرقابة المالية الاتحادي رقم (31) لسنة 2011، فضلاً عن الانكشاف السيبراني لبيانات الخزينة. ويختتم البحث بجملة من التوصيات التشريعية، أهمها: ضرورة تعديل قانون ديوان الرقابة المالية لمنحه اختصاص (التدقيق الرقمي اللحظي) والإسراع في إقرار قانون الأمن السيبراني لحماية المال العام، وإنهاء الازدواجية الإجرائية بين العمل الورقي والرقمي.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between the legitimacy of political authority and the stability of the political system through both theoretical and applied analysis within the framework of the modern state. It aims to clarify the concepts of authority and legitimacy, analyze their sources and patterns, and demonstrate their impact on the effectiveness of the political system. In addition, the study identifies the determinants of stability from institutional, legal, and societal perspectives. The research adopts a descriptive-analytical approach by reviewing relevant literature and theoretical models and linking them to real-world contexts. The findings indicate that legitimacy constitutes the foundation of political system stability; its absence leads to systemic fragility and increases the likelihood of crises, whereas its presence enhances the system’s capacity to manage challenges and adapt to changes, thereby ensuring its continuity.

Abstract

This study examines the structural transformations in Arab drama production and patterns of reception through digital platforms, with particular focus on the platforms Shahid and Watch It. It aims to uncover the implications of exclusive dramatic content on the value system of the Arab family by analyzing the concept of the “ceiling of dramatic freedom” and the non-traditional narrative and dramatic spaces it enables. The study adopts a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, drawing on Cultivation Theory as an interpretive framework to explain the effects of repeated and intensive exposure to dramatic content on the formation of social perceptions and values. The study is applied to a purposive sample of exclusive dramatic works, namely the series Azmat Montasaf Al-Umr (Midlife Crisis) and Revo. The findings indicate that exclusive dramatic content does not merely reflect social transformations but actively contributes to reshaping the value system of the Arab family. This is achieved through expanding the boundaries of dramatic freedom, redefining gender roles, weakening patriarchal authority, and normalizing behavioral patterns that were previously socially rejected within the contemporary digital viewing environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between digital stress and the quality of professional performance among Iraqi journalists operating in a fast-paced media environment, drawing on the Job Demands–Resources (JD–R) model. The study adopts a quantitative survey design and employs a multidimensional questionnaire to measure digital stress through its principal dimensions: digital overload, multitasking across platforms, and notification pressure. Professional performance quality is assessed through indicators including the accuracy of information verification, the quality of writing and editing, time management, and task completion. A rapidly evolving journalistic work environment is incorporated as a moderating variable within the study’s analytical framework. The study sample consists of 200 male and female journalists representing governmental, private, independent, and local media institutions. Data were analyzed using SPSS through descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient, multiple linear regression, one-way ANOVA, and interaction (moderation) analysis. The findings reveal a statistically significant negative relationship between digital stress and the quality of professional performance, with the effect intensifying in high-velocity journalistic environments.

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل العلاقة بين الإجهاد الرقمي وجودة الأداء المهني لدى الصحفيين العراقيين العاملين في بيئة صحفية متسارعة، بالاستناد إلى نموذج متطلبات العمل والموارد (Job Demands–Resources Model). اعتمدت الدراسة المنهج المسحي الكمي، واستخدمت استبانة متعددة الأبعاد لقياس الإجهاد الرقمي من خلال أبعاده الرئيسة، المتمثلة في فرط الاتصال الرقمي، وتعدد المنصات والمهام، وضغط الإشعارات. كما تم قياس جودة الأداء المهني عبر مؤشرات دقة التحقق من المعلومات، وجودة الصياغة والتحرير، وإدارة الوقت، وإنجاز المهام. وأُدرجت بيئة العمل الصحفية المتسارعة بوصفها متغيرًا مُعدِّلًا ضمن الإطار التحليلي للدراسة. وتكوّنت عينة الدراسة من (200) صحفي وصحفية يمثلون مؤسسات صحفية حكومية وخاصة ومستقلة ومحلية. جرى تحليل البيانات باستخدام برنامج (SPSS) عبر الإحصاءات الوصفية، ومعامل ارتباط بيرسون، والانحدار الخطي المتعدد، وتحليل التباين الأحادي، والانحدار التفاعلي. وأظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة عكسية ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الإجهاد الرقمي وجودة الأداء المهني، مع تزايد هذا الأثر في البيئات الصحفية عالية الوتيرة.

It aims to uncover the implications of exclusive dramatic content on the value system of the Arab family by analyzing the concept of the “ceiling of dramatic freedom” and the non-traditional narrative and dramatic spaces it enables. The study adopts a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, drawing on Cultivation Theory as an interpretive framework to explain the effects of repeated and intensive exposure to dramatic content on the formation of social perceptions and values. The study is applied to a purposive sample of exclusive dramatic works, namely the series Azmat Montasaf Al-Umr (Midlife Crisis) and Revo. The findings indicate that exclusive dramatic content does not merely reflect social transformations but actively contributes to reshaping the value system of the Arab family. This is achieved through expanding the boundaries of dramatic freedom, redefining gender roles, weakening patriarchal authority, and normalizing behavioral patterns that were previously socially rejected within the contemporary digital viewing environment.

تتناول هذه الدراسة التحولات البنيوية في صناعة الدراما العربية وأنماط تلقيها عبر المنصات الرقمية، مع التركيز على منصتي (Shahid)و.( Watch It) وتهدف إلى الكشف عن انعكاسات المحتوى الدرامي الحصري لهذه المنصات على النسق القيمي للأسرة العربية، من خلال تحليل مفهوم سقف الحرية الدرامية وما يتيحه من مساحات غير تقليدية في المعالجة السردية والدرامية. اعتمدت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي ذي التوجه النوعي، مستندة إلى نظرية الغرس الثقافي بوصفها إطاراً تفسيرياً يوضح أثر التعرض المتكرر والمكثف للمضامين الدرامية في تشكيل التصورات والقيم الاجتماعية. وطُبقت الدراسة على عينة قصدية من الأعمال الدرامية الحصرية، تمثلت في مسلسلي أزمة منتصف العمر وريفو. وتوصلت النتائج إلى أن المحتوى الدرامي الحصري لا يكتفي بعكس التحولات الاجتماعية، بل يسهم في إعادة تشكيل النسق القيمي للأسرة العربية، عبر توسيع حدود الحرية الدرامية، وإعادة تعريف الأدوار الجندرية، وإضعاف السلطة الأبوية، وتطبيع أنماط سلوكية كانت مرفوضة سابقاً ضمن بيئة المشاهدة الرقمية المعاصرة.

Abstract

The contemporary media sector is undergoing rapid transformations driven by advancements in artificial intelligence technologies, which have become a central force in digital transformation, particularly in television production. Intelligent algorithms and data analytics systems have contributed to reshaping content production and management practices. Artificial intelligence is no longer merely a supportive tool but has evolved into a strategic component that enhances planning and decision-making within media institutions. Despite growing international interest, existing studies remain insufficient in addressing its organizational and managerial implications. This study aims to analyze the role of artificial intelligence in advancing television production and to examine its impact on organizational structures and work patterns. It adopts a descriptive survey approach by examining the professional and organizational landscape. The findings indicate that the integration of these technologies enhances production efficiency and accelerates processes, while supporting data-driven management. However, this integration also necessitates advanced digital skills and presents professional challenges that require effective synergy between intelligent systems and editorial processes.

يشهد قطاع الإعلام المعاصر تحولات متسارعة بفعل تطور تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي التي أصبحت محركاً للتحول الرقمي، لا سيما في الإنتاج التلفزيوني، وأسهمت الخوارزميات الذكية وأنظمة تحليل البيانات في إعادة تشكيل أساليب إنتاج المحتوى وإدارته، إذ لم يعد الذكاء الاصطناعي أداة مساندة، بل عنصراً استراتيجياً يدعم التخطيط واتخاذ القرار داخل المؤسسات الإعلامية، وعلى الرغم من تزايد الاهتمام الدولي، لا تزال الدراسات قاصرة عن معالجة انعكاساتها التنظيمية والإدارية.
تهدف الدراسة إلى تحليل دور الذكاء الاصطناعي في تطوير الإنتاج التلفزيوني والكشف عن تأثيره في الهياكل التنظيمية وأنماط العمل، واعتمدت المنهج المسحي الوصفي من خلال وصف الواقع المهني والتنظيمي وتوصلت إلى أن دمج هذه التقنيات يعزز كفاءة الإنتاج ويسرّعه، ويدعم إدارة قائمة على البيانات، مع الحاجة إلى مهارات رقمية متقدمة، إلى جانب تحديات مهنية تتطلب تكاملا فعّالا بين الأنظمة الذكية والعمليات التحريرية.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of digital media on the development of public relations strategies and the shaping of institutional image in Iraqi governmental and service institutions, with the aim of addressing the knowledge gap regarding the current state of digital media usage. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach and employs a questionnaire administered to a purposive stratified sample of 90 participants. The instrument was structured around key dimensions, including digital media usage, institutional image formation, and organizational and technical challenges. Due to the non-normal distribution of the data, non-parametric statistical methods such as the Kruskal–Wallis test, the Mann–Whitney test, and the Bootstrapping technique were utilized. The results indicate that digital media usage has a statistically significant positive effect on the formation of institutional image (R² = 0.752, p < 0.001). In contrast, challenges did not demonstrate a direct effect when controlling for the independent variable, although statistically significant differences were observed across certain demographic variables.

تناولت هذه الدراسة تأثير الإعلام الرقمي في تطوير استراتيجيات العلاقات العامة في تشكيل الصورة المؤسسية في المؤسسات الحكومية والخدمية العراقية، بهدف سد الفجوة المعرفية حول واقع استخدام الإعلام الرقمي. اعتمدت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، واستُخدمت استبانة على عينة قصدية طبقية مكونة من (90) مفردة، موزعة على محاور: استخدام الإعلام الرقمي، تشكيل الصورة المؤسسية، والتحديات التنظيمية والتقنية. ونظرًا لعدم اعتدالية البيانات تم استخدام أساليب إحصائية لا معلميه مثل (Kruskal-Wallis وMann-Whitney) وتقنية (Bootstrapping). أظهرت النتائج أن استخدام الإعلام الرقمي يؤثر إيجابًا في تشكيل الصورة المؤسسية (R² = 0.752, p < 0.001) ، بينما لم يظهر للتحديات تأثير مباشر عند التحكم في المتغير المستقل، مع وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية لبعض المتغيرات الديموغرافية.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of digital advertising repetition via social media on consumer memory and emotional responses, specifically exploring the phenomenon of "Digital Immunity." Using a descriptive-analytical approach, the research surveyed 100 Iraqi social media users and performed sentiment analysis on three advertising models: folk, emotional, and technical. Findings, analyzed via Spearman’s Correlation Coefficient, reveal a significant positive correlation between repetition and Brand Recall, confirming its role as a cognitive anchor. However, no statistical correlation was found between frequency and consumer annoyance, brand trust, or qualitative sentiment. This indicates that modern consumers process repetitive ads as raw information rather than persuasive emotional drivers. The study concludes that the effectiveness of repetition has shifted from a persuasive instrument to a mere cognitive trigger. It recommends that advertisers transition from quantitative frequency to qualitative creative variation to effectively bridge the gap between memory and active consumer engagement.

يتناول هذا البحث أثر تكرار الإعلان الرقمي عبر منصات التواصل الاجتماعي في سرعة الوصول الى ظاهرة الانهاك بصورة اسرع وتشكيل الاستجابات الوجدانية للمستهلك. وفي حين تنظر الأدبيات التسويقية التقليدية إلى التكرار كعامل محفز للتذكر والإقناع، يستقصي هذا البحث ظاهرة "المناعة الرقمية" الناشئة عن الإنهاك الإعلاني. اعتمدت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، باستخدام استبانة وُزعت على عينة من 100 مستخدم في العراق، بالتوازي مع تحليل مشاعر للتعليقات العامة على ثلاثة نماذج إعلانية متنوعة لمنتج واحد في نفس السياق الرقمي والمنصة ذاتها .
وكشفت النتائج، التي عولجت باستخدام معامل ارتباط سبيرمان، عن وجود علاقة ارتباطية موجبة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين تكرار الإعلان وتذكر العلامة التجارية، مما يؤكد دوره كمرسخ للذاكرة الإدراكية. في المقابل، أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين التكرار وكل من: انزعاج المستهلك، أو الثقة بالعلامة، أو المشاعر الوجدانية. يشير ذلك إلى أن المستهلك المعاصر يعالج الإعلانات المكثفة كبيانات مجردة دون أن تسمح هذه الكثافة بتغيير قناعاته العاطفية أو مستويات ثقته. تخلص الدراسة إلى أن فاعلية التكرار تحولت من أداة إقناعيه إلى مجرد منبه إدراكي. وتوصي الدراسة المعلنين الرقميين بالتحول من استراتيجيات الكثافة العددية إلى التنويع الإبداعي النوعي لسد الفجوة بين الذاكرة والتفاعل الحقيقي للمستهلك.

Psychological Regression and Its Manifestations among University Students

Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the level of psychological regression and its manifestations among university students, as well as to examine the significance of statistical differences according to gender, developmental stage, specialization, academic level, and employment status. The sample consisted of 457 students from ten universities. The Psychological Regression Scale, developed for this study, was administered electronically after establishing its validity and reliability, and data were analyzed using SPSS.
The results indicated that 20% of students experienced psychological regression. However, no statistically significant difference was found between the sample mean and the theoretical mean. The findings further revealed that students did not exhibit manifestations of psychological regression except for hysterical laughter and nostalgia for the past. Finally, no statistically significant differences appeared across all variables. The study recommended establishing emotional ventilation units and suggested examining the relationship between psychological regression and childhood experiences.

هدف البحث التعرف مستوى الارتداد النفسي ومظاهره لدى طلبة الجامعة؛ زيادة عن تعرف دلالة الفروق الإحصائية فيه وفقاً لمتغيرات الجنس، والمرحلة النمائية، والتخصص، والمرحلة الدراسية، والعمل.
وشملت العينة (457) من طلبة عشرة جامعات؛ طبق عليها مقياس الارتداد النفسي الذي أُعِد لأغراض البحث الحالي إلكترونيا بعد استخراج صدقه وثباته، وحللت البيانات إحصائيا باستعمال الحزمة الإحصائية للعلوم الاجتماعية (spss)، والتي أظهرت نتائجها أن نسبة الطلبة الذين يعانون من الارتداد النفسي بلغت (20 %)، مع أنه لم يظهر فرق دال إحصائيا بين الوسط الحسابي للعينة والوسط النظري للمقياس في الارتداد النفسي؛ كما بينت النتائج أنه لم تظهر لدى الطلبة أية مظاهر للارتداد النفسي ما عدا في مظهرين "الضحك الهستيري"، و"الحنين إلى الماضي"، وأخيرا أظهرت النتائج أنه لا توجد فروق دالة إحصائيا بين الطلبة في المتغيرات جميعها.
وقد كان من توصيات البحث إنشاء وحدات للتنفيس الانفعالي في الكليات؛ وكان من بين المقترحات التي ساقها البحث دراسة علاقة الارتداد النفسي بخبرات الطفولة لدى طلبة الجامعة.

The Social Imaginary of Youth Toward Freedom and Democracy: A Field Study in the City of Baghdad

Abstract

This study explores the social imaginary of university youth and their perceptions of freedom and democracy through the lens of Cornelius Castoriadis’s theory. It views these concepts as imaginary significations shaped by the collective imaginary. However, everyday social reality reveals gaps in understanding and internalizing these ideas, leading to distorted practices and a disconnect from the institutional frameworks that give them meaning and legitimacy. The study argues that the absence or distortion of these shared meanings in collective consciousness contributes to weakened democratic practices and a diminished sense of citizenship. Therefore, reconfiguring the social imaginary is essential to restore balance between institutional structures and daily practices. Using a social survey methodology, the study relies on a scale-based questionnaire to examine how university youth perceive freedom and democracy in practice, and to assess the clarity and stability of these concepts within their consciousness.

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة مخيال الشباب وإدراكهم لمفاهيم الحرية والديمقراطية، وتفسيرها في ضوء نظرية "كاستورياديس" حول "المتخيل الاجتماعي". إذ تُعدّ الممارسات المرتبطة بالحرية والديمقراطية دلالات خيالية تستمد معناها من المخيال الجمعي، غير أن الواقع الاجتماعي اليومي يكشف عن قصور في فهمها وتمثلها، مما يؤدي إلى اختلال في ممارستها وانفصالها عن سياقها المؤسسي الذي يمنحها المعنى والشرعية.
وتشير الدراسة إلى أن غياب هذه الدلالات أو تشوهها في الوعي الجمعي يؤدي إلى تراجع في ممارسة القيم الديمقراطية، وضعف في الشعور بالمواطنة، مما يجعل من إعادة تشكيل المتخيل الاجتماعي ضرورة ملحّة لتحقيق التوازن بين البنية المؤسسية والممارسات اليومية. وقد اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج المسح الاجتماعي، مستندة إلى أداة استمارة المقياس، بهدف الكشف عن شكل المتخيل الاجتماعي الذي يحمله الشباب الجامعي حول مفهومي الحرية والديمقراطية، والوقوف على تصوراتهم اليومية والعملية لهذه المفاهيم. وتحليل مدى وضوح واستقرار مفهومي الحرية والديمقراطية في وعي الشباب.

Organized Violence Among University Students: An Empirical Study at the University of Baghdad

Abstract

Iraqi society has undergone substantial social changes that have had a direct impact on people's lives., poor government institutions, and a fragile rule of law, have allowed criminal groups to increase their impact. The research examines the rising issue of organized violence among adolescents, particularly in universities, to uncover the most prevalent forms. It aims to characterize coordinated violence and investigate its origins, contributing variables, and primary forms. The research is important for advancing sociological and psychological knowledge of this phenomenon in academic contexts by studying its origins and manifestations. The theoretical portion addresses the ideas of violence and youth, as well as the origins and types of organized violence. The field study focuses on university students, employing a questionnaire and descriptive-analytical techniques, with data analyzed using SPSS. According to findings, economic factors are a major factor contributing to the prevalence of organized violence among young people in institutions.

لقد مر المجتمع العراقي بتغييرات اجتماعية كبيرة أثرت مباشرة على حياة الأفراد. هذه التغييرات كان لها تأثير واضح على الأمان الاجتماعي، بالإضافة إلى ضعف الدولة وهشاشة القانون في العراق، في ظهور جماعات غير قانونية. هذه الجماعات استطاعت أن تفرض سيطرتها على المجتمع ، وأشارت مشكلة الدراسة إلى تزايد خطورة العنف المنظم بين الشباب ولاسيما في الجامعات، وجاء تساؤل الدراسة إلى تحديد أكثر أنماط هذا العنف شيوعًا بين الشباب، وأما عن أهداف الدراسة فهي فهم معنى العنف المنظم واستكشاف الأسباب والعوامل والأنواع وتبلغ أهمية الدراسة في اسهام البحث في تعميق الفهم السوسيولوجي والنفسي لظاهرة العنف المنظم في الأوساط الجامعية من خلال تحليل أسبابه ومظاهره والعوامل المؤدية إلى انتشاره، أما في المبحث الثاني وضح مفهوم العنف والشباب ثم أسباب العنف المنظم ثم أنواع العنف المنظم واستعرض المبحث الثالث، الجانب الميداني لعينة الدراسة وهي طلبة الجامعة باستخدام الاستبيان وباستخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي وعرض الجداول الإحصائية باستخدام برنامج spss وكانت أهم نتائج الدراسة أن الظروف الاقتصادية من العوامل المؤدية إلى العنف المنظّم.

Abstract

This research aims to study cultural diversity and social coexistence in Iraq after 2003 from an analytical perspective, with a focus on the impact of political and social transformations on the relationships among the different components of society, Iraq suffers from significant ethnic and religious diversity, including Arabs, Kurds, Turkmen, Shabak, and Kerdan, in addition to religious diversity that includes Shiites, Sunnis, Christians, Kaka’i, and other minorities, this diversity is considered a cultural and civilizational wealth, yet it also represents a major challenge if the relationships among the components are not managed in a way that reinforces national unity and mutual trust, the study focuses on identifying the challenges facing coexistence such as sectarian and ethnic conflicts, weak trust between groups, and the rise of sub-group affiliations at the expense of the national identity of civil society, contributing to building a cohesive Iraqi society capable of facing the challenges of the present and the future.

Abstract

This research aims to formulate proposals for improving blended learning in university classrooms to develop sustainable education based on global experiences. To achieve this goal, the researcher prepared a questionnaire containing (38) proposals, categorized as follows: (10, 10, 8, 10) and categorized as follows: (Proposals related to the educational institution, proposals related to the human element, proposals related to the technological aspect, and proposals related to the educational content), respectively. The questionnaire was administered to a sample of (112) faculty members from humanities colleges. The agreement rate ranged between (89-98%). The researcher analyzed the proposals based on the agreement rates as research conclusions and recommended employing blended learning in the educational process according to clear and well-studied strategies, training students and faculty members in digital citizenship, providing the necessary infrastructure and technologies, and paying attention to curriculum design. The researcher also suggested conducting similar studies in science colleges.

Abstract

The present study focuses on university faculty as a key component of the educational process, examining systematic thinking as a higher-order cognitive skill. It highlights how understanding social relationships enhances critical thinking and analysis. Systematic thinking expands intellectual capacity, enabling individuals to view issues holistically, identify underlying causes, and respond effectively. Due to its importance in planning and solving complex problems, increasing attention has been directed toward this type of thinking. The study aims to determine the level of systematic thinking among university faculty members and to identify differences based on gender (male/female) and academic specialization (scientific/humanities). A descriptive approach was adopted, using the scale developed by Al-Mousawi (2018). The sample consisted of 125 randomly selected faculty members. Statistical analysis showed that the level of systematic thinking among university faculty members is high.

يحظى البحث الحالي بأهمية كبيرة كونه يركز على شريحة مهمة في المجتمع والعملية التربوية وهو من المستويات العليا ومن خلال فهم طبيعة العلاقات والمواقف الاجتماعية بصورة شاملة, فيصبح قادر على النقد والتحليل, ويعد الوسيلة التي يتم من خلالها توسيع آفاق التفكير لدينا ورؤية العالم من حولنا بصورة اشمل وتحديد المسببات الحقيقية للأحداث التي تحدث من حولنا والتعامل معها بالطريقة الصحيحة , وبدأ التركيز عليها للأهمية التي تفوق أنماط وانواع أخرى من التفكير لما يحقق من فوائد كثيرة حيث يفيد في وضع الخطط , وحل المشكلات المعقدة ويهدف البحث إلى التعرف على مستوى التفكير النظامي لدى تدريسي الجامعة ودلالة الفروق في التفكير النظامي لدى تدريسي الجامعة تبعاً لمتغير الجنس ذكور _إناث والتخصص الدراسي علمي _ إنساني ولتحقيق الدراسة اتبعت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي , حيث تبنت الباحثة مقياس (الموسوي ،محمد 2018 ) وبلغت عينة البحث الحالي (125 ) تدريسي وتدريسية موزعين بطريقة عشوائية وبعد إجراء التحليل الاحصائي للبيانات تبين أن مستوى التفكير النظامي لدى تدريسي الجامعة عالي.

Abstract

This research contributed to the analysis of the duality of the application of international law in contemporary times, through the use of comparative analysis and the critical sociological perspective. The research starts from the premise that the application of international law is not based on abstract humanitarian standards, but rather on considerations of power and the end of classical law. The study of the duality is highlighted by discussing contemporary cases, such as the war in Iraq, the Third, Palestine, Ukraine, liberation, and Iran, while analyzing its impact on international trust, civil rights, and the spread of violence.
The study concluded that double standards represent a structural threat to the international and humanitarian order, and recommended the need to reform the mechanisms for implementing international law, strengthen the independence of international institutions, and activate international humanitarian law without selectivity.

يهدف هذا البحث إلى تحليل مشكلة ازدواجية تطبيق القانون الدولي الإنساني في الحروب المعاصرة، من خلال توظيف المنهج التحليلي المقارن والمنظور السوسيولوجي النقدي، إذ ينطلق البحث من فرضية مفادها: إن تطبيق القانون الدولي لا يتم وفق معايير إنسانية مجردة، بل يخضع لاعتبارات القوة والمصلحة السياسية، وتبرز الدراسة مظاهر الازدواجية من خلال المقارنة في الحالات المعاصرة، مثل : الحرب في العراق، وسوريا، وفلسطين، وأوكرانيا، وفنزويلا، وإيران، مع تحليل آثارها المجتمعية على الثقة الدولية، والتماسك الاجتماعي، وانتشار العنف. وخلصت الدراسة إلى أن ازدواجية المعايير تمثل تهديداً بنيوياً للنظام الدولي والإنساني ، وتوصي بضرورة إصلاح آليات تطبيق القانون الدولي وتعزيز استقلالية المؤسسات الدولية وضرورة تفعيل القانون الدولي الإنساني من دون انتقائية.

Abstract

The phenomenon of school dropout has long plagued the education sector due to the crises, problems, and wars that Iraq has experienced. This problem has led to widespread illiteracy, unemployment, and the spread of organized crime due to a lack of cultural awareness. The phenomenon of school dropout constitutes an obstacle to social development. Therefore, educational institutions must spare no effort and mobilize their energies to curb this dangerous phenomenon.
In this study, the researcher attempts to uncover a phenomenon that has spread among female students in middle and secondary schools. This phenomenon is one of the educational problems in our society, and its causes must be identified and the best methods for addressing it determined. One successful approach is the work of popular training centers to develop women by holding training courses for this important segment and accommodating them, with the aim of preparing trained female cadres who contribute to building a sound family.

تعتبر ظاهرة التسرب الدراسي من المشاكل التي يعاني منها قطاع التربية والتعليم ومنذ فترات طويلة بسبب الازمات والمشاكل والحروب التي مر بها العراق، وقد أدت هذه المشكلة إلى شيوع الأمية والبطالة وانتشار الجريمة المنظمة بسبب ضعف الوعي الثقافي، وإن ظاهرة التسرب المدرسي تشكل عائقاً في طريق التنمية الاجتماعية، لذلك فأن على المؤسسات التربوية أن لا تبخل بأي جهود وتحشد طاقاتها للحد من هذه الظاهرة الخطيرة.
تحاول الباحثة في هذه الدراسة أن تكشف عن ظاهرة تفشت بين أوساط الطالبات في المرحلتين المتوسطة والإعدادية وهي ظاهرة التسرب الدراسي للطالبات من المدارس المتوسطة والاعدادية، كونها من إحدى المشاكل التربوية في مجتمعنا الواجب تحديد أسبابها وتحديد أفضل الطرق لمعالجتها ومن هذه الطرق الناجحة هي ما تقوم به مراكز التدريب الشعبي لتنمية المرأة من خلال إقامة الدورات التأهيلية لهذه الشريحة المهمة واستيعابها من أجل اعداد كوادر نسائية مدربة تساهم في بناء الأسرة بناء سليماً.

Abstract

The current research analyzes the impact of organizational performance on organizational reputation in public organizations. Its significance arises from environmental challenges that compel organizations to enhance performance to maintain their standing and improve their public image. The research problem concerns the unclear relationship between organizational performance levels and the organization’s position in its external environment, while examining the contribution of dimensions—job satisfaction, work commitment, training, and development—to organizational reputation dimensions: social responsibility, service quality, and innovation. A descriptive-analytical approach was adopted, with data collected via a questionnaire from 153 employees at the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 24 and Excel 2010, employing weighted mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, simple linear regression, and path analysis. The study found a significant impact of organizational performance on enhancing organizational reputation and improving internal and external standing.

يهدف البحث الحالي إلى تحليل تأثير الأداء التنظيمي بوصفه متغيراً مستقلاً في السمعة التنظيمية باعتبارها متغيراً تابعاً في المنظمات العامة. تنبع أهمية الدراسة من التحديات البيئية التي تفرض على المؤسسات تحسين أدائها للحفاظ على مكانتها وتعزيز صورتها الذهنية. تمثلت مشكلة البحث في غموض العلاقة بين مستوى الأداء التنظيمي ومكانة المنظمة في بيئتها الخارجية، مع تحديد إسهام أبعاده المتمثلة بالرضا الوظيفي والالتزام بالعمل والتدريب والتطوير في دعم أبعاد السمعة التنظيمية المتمثلة بالمسؤولية الاجتماعية وجودة الخدمة والإبداع. اعتمدت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، واستخدمت الاستبانة لجمع البيانات من عينة بلغت 153 موظفاً من الجهاز المركزي للتقييس والسيطرة النوعية. تم تحليل البيانات باستخدام برنامج SPSS V.24 وMicrosoft Excel 2010، وتطبيق الوسط الحسابي الموزون والانحراف المعياري ومعامل الاختلاف النسبي والانحدار الخطي البسيط وتحليل المسار. ومن أهم النتائج التي توصل إليها البحث هي وجود تأثير معنوي للأداء التنظيمي في تعزيز السمعة التنظيمية وتحسين مكانة المنظمة داخلياً وخارجياً.

The Effect of the Appleton Model on Developing Creative Thinking among Female Students of the Institute of Fine Arts in the Course of Mural Art

Abstract

The present study aims to:
1. Identify the effect of the Appleton Model on developing creative thinking in the subject of mural art.
2. Determine the magnitude of this effect.
To verify the first objective, two null hypotheses were formulated:
• There are no statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in the pre-test of creative thinking.
• There are no statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level between the mean scores of the pre-test and post-test of the experimental group.
The researcher adopted an experimental method using a pre–post design with a single group. The instrument was administered to a purposive sample of 60 female students, and the data were analyzed using the SPSS program. The results revealed that the steps of the model contributed effectively to the development of creative thinking. Accordingly, the study recommended adopting this model and proposed conducting further studies on other art subjects.

Folk art is regarded as one of the art forms rich in visual configurations that embody aesthetic reservoirs and technical mechanisms, functioning to construct an interrelated connection between heritage values and contemporary perspectives. The present study is organized into four chapters. The first chapter addresses the research problem, which is formulated through the following question: What is folk art in terms of its aesthetic and technical dimensions, and how are these reflected in the productions of the Department of Art Education? It further outlines the significance, objectives, and delimitations of the study, culminating in the definition of key terms. The second chapter comprises two sections: the first examines the aesthetic and technical dimensions of postmodern art, while the second explores the concept of folk art. Mullah Sadra, the Iranian philosopher, utilized the world of imagination to demonstrate the corporeal resurrection as part of his comprehensive philosophical vision. He regarded the "fantasy world" as a crucial element connecting the spiritual and material realms. Sadra aimed to reconcile Islamic teachings with philosophical concepts, viewing imagination as a bridge that allows the soul to transition from the spiritual to the material world, thereby enhancing the understanding of the body-soul relationship. In his philosophy, the body is recreated in the afterlife based on the principle of unity between body and soul. The fantasy world serves as a space where images are formed, enabling the conceptualization of the body's reconstruction as a real event. Through the concept of intrinsic motion, Sadra argues that everything in the universe is in constant evolution toward perfection, reflecting his pursuit of harmony between religion and philosophy within Islamic culture.

Abstract

The ideology of violence has emerged as a significant theme occupying the attention of contemporary philosophers. Their discussions have evolved beyond viewing it as a transient phenomenon affecting isolated individuals, extending instead to encompass comprehensive and integrated systems of thought. Within this context, the work of Dennis Smith represents a notable attempt to examine the ideology of violence as manifested in globalization. According to this perspective, globalization has instrumentalized the concept of sustainable development as a means of asserting dominance and perpetuating the interests of major powers and their institutions, which employ policies designed to secure control over global resources. At the level of lived human experience, globalization has generated feelings of alienation from reality, inferiority toward the “other,” and tendencies toward resentment and retaliation, while simultaneously marginalizing questions of genuine social integration among societies. Consequently, globalization can no longer be regarded as a trajectory of human progress or a purely civilizational condition; rather, it has contributed to intensifying global conflict and violence.

يعد موضوع أيديولوجيا العنف من المواضيع المهمة التي شغلت أذهان الفلاسفة المعاصرين ، إذ لم تعد طروحاتهم حولها مجرد ظاهرة طارئة على أفراد آخرين بل تعدت إلى سياق آخر شملت منظومات فكرية متكاملة وتعد محاولة دينيس سميث واحدة من هذه المحاولات التي تناولت أيديولوجيا العنف المتمثلة بالعولمة التي استخدمت التنمية المستدامة من أجل هيمنتها واستدامة مصالح الدول الكبرى ومؤسساتها إذ يمارسون من خلالها سياسات تخدم أهدافهم المنشودة من أهمها السيطرة على مقدرات العالم، أما على مستوى الواقع الإنساني المعاش فقد انتجت العولمة شعوراً بالابتعاد من الواقع والدونية من الآخر والانتقام وحيدت مسألة الاندماج بين المجتمعات، وبالتالي أصبحت العولمة ليست مسيرة للتطور البشري وليس حالة حضارية، وأنها اججت الصراع والعنف العالمي.

Abstract

This study examines the role of adverbs of time and place in the story Adoration of Pure Benevolence by Mohammad Ali Jamalzadeh, showing how they move beyond their grammatical function to shape narrative structure, characterization, and social criticism. The research focuses on how these adverbs become conceptual and ideological tools in the fictional text. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical method, the study analyzes sentences from the story containing adverbs of time and place. These examples were identified, classified according to their type and position, and examined from semantic and narrative perspectives. The research includes theoretical discussions on adverbs in traditional and modern grammar, a review of previous studies, and a detailed analysis of their functions in the story. The findings reveal that adverbs of time organize the sequence of events and highlight value conflicts, while adverbs of place construct narrative space and deepen indirect characterization and social criticism.

این پژوهش با هدف بررسی نقش قیدهای زمان و مکان در داستان *خیرخواهی محض* اثر محمدعلی جمالزاده انجام شده و می‌کوشد نشان دهد که این عناصر زبانی چگونه فراتر از کارکرد صرفاً دستوری، در شکل‌دهی به ساخت روایت، شخصیت‌پردازی و انتقال نقد اجتماعی نقش‌آفرینی می‌کنند. مسئله اصلی تحقیق، تبیین چگونگی تبدیل قیدهای زمان و مکان به ابزارهای معناپرداز و ایدئولوژیک در متن داستانی است. روش تحقیق توصیفی–تحلیلی و مبتنی بر رویکردی کیفی است. داده‌ها شامل جملات داستانی حاوی قیدهای زمان و مکان‌اند که پس از شناسایی، بر اساس نوع قید، جایگاه نحوی و نوع جمله طبقه‌بندی و سپس از منظر معنایی و روایی تحلیل شده‌اند. ساختار تحقیق شامل مباحث نظری مربوط به قید در دستور سنتی و جدید، مرور پیشینه پژوهش، تحلیل تفصیلی قیدهای زمان و مکان در داستان، مقایسه کارکرد این دو نوع قید و در نهایت نتیجه‌گیری است. یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد قیدهای زمان با سامان‌دهی توالی رویدادها، ایجاد تعلیق و برجسته‌سازی تقابل‌های ارزشی، ستون فقرات روایت را می‌سازند؛ در حالی که قیدهای مکان با فضاسازی، تصویرسازی و بازنمایی روابط قدرت، نقش مهمی در شخصیت‌پردازی غیرمستقیم و تعمیق طنز تلخ و نقد اجتماعی داستان ایفا می‌کنند.

Abstract

يرمي هذا البحث إلى التعرف على تقنية ChatGPT واستكشاف الفرص واتجاهات طلبة الدراسات العليا نحو استخدام التقنية في إنجاز رسائلهم وأطاريهم الأكاديمية ، فضلاً عن الكشف عن أبرز التحديات الأخلاقية والمعوقات التي تواجه استخدام تقنية ChatGPT في ميادين البحث العلمي. استخدمت الدراسة منهجاً وصفياً تحليلاً، وكانت العينة (75) طلباً من الدراسات العليا (دبلوم عالي ، ماجستير ، دكتوراه) ، اعتمد البحث على الاستبانة لجمع بيانات البحث واستخدمت الباحثة مجموعة من الأساليب الإحصائية في معالجة وتحليل البيانات هي النسب المئوية ومقياس ليكرت الثلاثي(Likert) في توزيع درجات الإجابة وعلى مجموعة من المقاييس الاحصائية والمتمثلة بالأوساط الحسابية الموزونة ، الانحرافات المعيارية، والاهمية النسبة ، ومعامل الاختلاف المعياري ، وتوصل البحث إلى عدة من النتائج أبرزها:- اتجاه إجابات العينة نحو الاتفاق حول الاستفادة من تقنية ChatGPT في إعداد الرسائل والاطاريح بنسبة (59.6%) من إجمالي العينة مما يفسّر أن استخدام تقنية ChatGPT تسهم في تسريع عملية البحث وتوفير الوقت والجهد . ومن أبرز التوصيات:- تشجيع الطلبة على المشاركة في الندوات والورش لتعزيز الوعي لديهم حول أخلاقيات استخدام تقنية ChatGPT لتعليمهم كيفية استخدام هذه التقنية بما يحقق أهدافهم التعليمية لتوفير استخدام بشكل آمن وموثوق.

تبحث هذه الدراسة البراغماتية في استراتيجيات الترقيق في الخطاب النبوي ضمن القرآن الكريم، مع التركيز على الوظيفة التواصلية لأسلوب المخاطبة "يا قوم". اعتمدت الدراسة منهجاً تحليلياً وصفياً يستند إلى البراغماتية ونظرية التأدب، مستخدمةً تصنيف علي وصالح (2020) لأدوات الترقيق. وتتكون عينة البحث من 49 آية قرآنية في سور متعددة استخدم فيها الأنبياء هذا الأسلوب عند مخاطبة أقوامهم. ومن خلال التحليل النوعي للمحتوى والتفسير الدلالي المدعوم بمصادر التفسير الكلاسيكية، حددت الدراسة الأهداف اللغوية والبراغماتية الكامنة وراء هذا النمط الخطابي المتكرر. وكشفت النتائج أن عبارة "يا قوم" تؤدي وظيفة أداة ترقيق استراتيجية تُخفّف القوة الإنجازية للكلام، وتعزّز الانسجام بين المتخاطبين، وتُيسّر تقبّل الهداية الإلهية. وأظهر التحليل أن الأنبياء أعطوا أولوية مستمرة للرحمة والتأدب والحوار الإقناعي على فرض السلطة، مُجسّدين بذلك نموذجاً للتواصل الأخلاقي المتوافق مع مقاصد الشريعة. وتخلص الدراسة إلى أن الترقيق في الخطاب النبوي يخدم أغراضاً لغوية ولاهوتية معاً: فهو يعكس الرحمة الإلهية، ويُعزّز الانسجام الاجتماعي، ويُحسّن استقبال الرسائل الدينية. وتُسهم هذه الرؤى في فهم الاستراتيجيات التواصلية القرآنية، وتقدّم دلالات تطبيقية للخطاب الإسلامي المعاصر والحوار بين الأديان.

Framing Conflict: CNN’s Discourse of Geopolitical Institutionalization during the Syrian Regime Collapse

Abstract

This paper will combines the three-dimensional model by Fairclough, and the ideological square developed by van Dijk to examine the online coverage by CNN during the discursive turning point of the Syrian regime collapse in December 2024. The recurrent negative other-presentation, and positive self-presentation are indicated in a narrow set of five high-impact articles. Textually, CNN uses dysphemistic labels, and dehumanizing imagery, including repeated mention of the “slaughterhouse” prison, to construct moral binaries. In transitivity, and sourcing, opposition actors receive active agency, while actions by Western-aligned actors, including Israeli airstrikes, are mitigated through necessity frames, and strategic rationales. At the level of social practice, these choices converge in a narrative that legitimizes intervention, and casts the collapse as a geopolitical win over Russia, Iran. The article proposes a critical-juncture design that links micro-linguistic choices to ideological polarization at a single moment. It offers a template for analysing aligned conflict reporting.

تطبّق هذه الدراسة إطاراً تكاملياً في التحليل النقدي للخطاب يجمع نموذج فيركلاف ثلاثي الأبعاد مع المربّع الأيديولوجي لفان دايك لفحص تغطية CNN للحظة خطابية حرجة ارتبطت بانهيار النظام السوري في ديسمبر 2024. تعتمد الدراسة على خمس مقالات إلكترونية عالية التأثير وتكشف حضوراً منتظماً لاستراتيجيات العرض السلبي للآخر والعرض الإيجابي للذات. على المستوى النصي تستخدم CNN ألفاظاً قدحية وصوراً نازعة للإنسانية مع تكرار الإحالة إلى سجن المسلخ لبناء ثنائيات أخلاقية حادّة. في التعدّي والإسناد تمنح أفعال المعارضة فاعلية لغوية بينما تُهوَّن أفعال الجهات المتحالفة مع الغرب مثل الضربات الجوية الإسرائيلية عبر تأطيرها بوصفها ضرورية أو استراتيجية. على مستوى الممارسة الاجتماعية تتقاطع هذه الأنماط في سردية تبرّر التدخل وتعرض الانهيار كنصر جيوسياسي على روسيا وإيران. يقترح البحث تصميم المنعطف الحرج لربط الاختيارات الدقيقة بالاستقطاب عند نقطة واحدة. ويقدّم نموذجاً إجرائياً قابلاً للتكييف لدراسة تغطيات صراعية أخرى متسقة مع الهيمنة. الكلمات المفتاحية التحليل النقدي للخطاب المربّع الأيديولوجي الصراع السوري التعدّي التأطير الجيوسياسي CNN.

Abstract

Using educational games to educate and learn English greatly advances the objective of language acquisition through social interaction and peer learning, particularly vital due to the increasing population of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. This study examines the effects of game use on young children's English proficiency to work on the presentation of sixth-grade EFL students in English class at Mostaqbal primary School in Baghdad/Iraq, focusing on aspects such as anxiety from peer pressure, vocabulary learning, and motivation. Prior research confirms the value of games in language teaching, essential for child development. The study involved fifty sixth-grade EFL students, employing both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Results indicated improved student enthusiasm, increased vocabulary acquisition, and reduced anxiety during gaming in class. The primary aim was to explore the relationship between English competency and game usage. Incorporating games in the classroom not only alleviates stress but also enhances student engagement and enjoyment in learning. The educational implications of gaming elements for improving English proficiency and learner attitudes are thoroughly discussed.

Teacher Training Programme for English Teachers at University of Duhok: A Critical Analysis

Abstract

The present paper investigates the teacher training programme for English teachers at the University of Duhok. It is also to analyze the available type of In-service teachers’ training programme in terms of skills, capabilities and techniques. To collect the opinions of teachers a questionnaire has been prepared. In addition, qualitative data were collected during the interviews. For the present study, the sample comprises altogether 44 English teachers. It has been found from the present study that English teachers at the Department of English, College of Basic Education at the University of Duhok do not get enough scope for their Professional Development. Though some of the teachers have a plan yet they are unaware as to how far that will be materialized. Data shows that majority of the teachers have attended In-service teacher training programmes only once in their teaching career which is not sufficient concerning their continuous professional growth.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of integrating multimodal composing into the teaching of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) on learners’ argumentative writing skills. Multimodal composing, which combines text, images, sound, and spatial elements, is viewed as closely connected to critical thinking, creativity, and learner engagement compared to traditional teaching practices. The study adopts a mixed-methods research design, collecting data through in-depth interviews with EAP learners, questionnaire analysis, and the evaluation of multimodal assignments using creative rubrics. Quantitative findings reveal significant improvements in argument structure, support, and coherence, with multimodal tasks achieving higher performance scores than text-based tasks. Qualitative results indicate increased levels of critical thinking, motivation, and engagement among learners, although some challenges emerged in coordinating and aligning multiple modes. Overall, the study highlights the pedagogical value of incorporating multimodal tasks in EAP instruction and emphasizes the importance of adequate scaffolding, alignment, and instructional support to help learners effectively manage multimodal composition.

Abstract

This research examines the effectiveness of the Cutting Edge Elementary textbook at Duhok University, focusing on its impact on student engagement and teaching methodology across eight Humanities and Science departments. Data were collected through researcher-completed classroom observation sheets over two semesters. Findings indicate that teaching methodology effectiveness remained consistent across departments, while student engagement varied by discipline. Humanities students demonstrated higher motivation and engagement than Science students, whose engagement levels were generally lower and less sustained. The results suggest that Cutting Edge Elementary, as a communicative General-English textbook, aligns more effectively with Humanities learners, whereas Science students may benefit from materials better tailored to their disciplinary needs. Overall, the textbook is pedagogically sound and yields positive outcomes when implemented by competent teachers, particularly when adapted to student context. These findings contribute to textbook implementation practices, teacher awareness of student motivators, and the localized adaptation of materials in higher education in Kurdistan.

Abstract

Throughout history, poets presented different accounts of war as well as its profound impact on human existence. Their accounts serve as a medium for conveying its atrocities and also raising empathy and sensitivity among people. Brian Turner and Carol Ann Duffy are among others who use their poetry to shed light on this traumatic event. They viewed war from different perspectives. Turner is a solider poet who offers a firsthand portrayal of the brutalities of war whereas Duffy presents a mediated representation of war from another civilian's perspective, the photographer. The current study shaped by trauma theory as both combatants and civilians suffer from PTSD. It sheds light on the physical, psychological, emotional, and ethical aspects of war. The study also presents the role of media in shaping public perception. In conclusion, the poets' verses serve as means of recovery from trauma as they attempt to give voice to the unvoiced.

عبر التاريخ, قدم الشعراء نتاجات شعرية مختلفة عن الحرب واثارها الكبيرة على الوجود الإنساني. تعمل هذه النتاجات كوسيلة لنقل فظائع الحرب وتحفيز التعاطف والوعي الإنساني . يستخدم كل من براين تيرنر وكارول ان دافي قصائدهما لتسليط الضوء على هذه الاحداث الصادمة , لكن من منظورين مختلفين . يقدم تيرنر بوصفه شاعر وجندي تصويرا مباشرا لٍفظائع الحرب بينما دافي تصور الحرب من منظور مدني اخر وهو مصور الحرب. تستند الدراسة الحالية الى نظرية الصدمة النفسية لأن كلا من المقاتلين والمدنيين يعانون من اضطراب ما بعد الصدمة. تسلط الدراسة الضوء على الابعاد الجسدية و النفسية والعاطفية والأخلاقية للحرب. كما تبين أيضا دور وسائل الاعلام في تشكيل تصور الجمهور عنها. في الختام. تبين الدراسة دور الشعر كوسيلة للتعافي من خلال التعبير عن من لا يستطيعون التعبير عن انفسهم.

Poiesis of the Nonhuman: Zoopoetic Aesthetics in Elizabeth Bishop’s and Salim Barakat’s Selected Poems

Abstract

The present study conducts a comparative analysis of selected poems by Elizabeth Bishop and Salim Barakat following the zoopoetic theorizing, which focuses on concepts of bodily poiesis and animal agency. It aims to identify distinct zoopoetic aesthetics. Bishop's poems show an aesthetic of material empathy, where an observational confrontation with a nonhuman prompts an ethical attitude and reaction in the human speaker. In contrast, Barakat's poems develop an aesthetic of mythic abstraction. His poems transcend the human observer who grants nonhumans a sovereign agency. Barakat's poems do not depict a history of struggle and survival but grant nonhumans a cosmic and sublime force that presents their consciousness as complete and sufficient. Essentially, the study concludes that while Bishop directly enacts the process of zoopoetics to demonstrate how the poet's material attentiveness to a nonhuman's being generates formal and moral breakthroughs, Barakat's poems embody a radical and philosophical approach of zoopoetics through imagining a non-human-centered world.

تُجري هذه الدراسة تحليلاً مُقارناً لقصائدَ مختارةٍ لكل من إليزابيث بيشوب وسليم بركات، استناداً إلى المرتكزات النظرية للشعرية الحيوانية التي تُعنى بمفاهيم شعريّة الجسد، واليقظة الانتباهية، والفاعلية الحيوانية. وتهدف الدراسة إلى استجلاء مسارين متمايزينِ للجماليات الشِّعريّة الحيوانية لدى الشاعرين؛ إذ تكشفُ قصائد بيشوب عن جماليات التعاطف المادي، حيث تُفضي المواجهة المباشرة والرصديَة مع الكائن اللإنساني إلى استثارة موقف واستجابة أخلاقيّة لدى الذات الناطقة. ويتأسس أسلوبها الشعري على إدراك جسد اللإنساني بوصفه نصاً لتاريخ مَعِيش، مما يُعزّز صلةً مُتبادلةً تقوِض الثنائية التقليدية بين الإنسان والحيوان. وفي المقابل، تجترح قصائد بركات جماليات التجريد الأسطوري؛ فهي تتجاوز مَوقِعَ المراقب البشري لتمنح اللإنساني فاعلية عنصرية ذات سيادة مطلقة. إذ لا تصور هذه القصائد تاريخاً من الصراع من أجل البقاء، بل تضفي على الكائنات قوة كونية جليلة (Sublime) تقدم وعيها بوصفه وعياً ناجزاً ومكتفياً بذاته. بشكل جوهري تُحاجج الدراسة بأنه في حين تُفعل بيشوب سيرورة الشعرية الحيوانية بشكل مباشر لتبين كيف يمكن للانتباه المادي للشاعر تجاه كينونة اللإنساني أن يولد فتوحات شكلية وأخلاقية؛ فإن قصائد بركات تُجسد مقاربةً فلسفيةً وجذريةً لهذه الشعرية، من خلال تخيل عالم غير متمركز حول الإنسان.

Abstract

This paper argues that didacticism and morality are closely intertwined in ""Great Expectations"" by Charles Dickens, an illustration of his adult moral vision. Dickens goes beyond mere moralizing and employs a psychologically subtle first-person narration to examine how morals are constructed through the protagonist, Pip's, guilt, shame, and redemption. Through an examination of the novel's symbolic geography, characterization, and issues of social mobility and crime, the paper reveals how the novel compels the reader to track Pip's moral collapse and rebuild, challenging the Victorian ideals of class and respectability. The didacticism of Dickens is reflective and humanistic. It has been formed through experiencing empathy, suffering, and personal responsibility. According to the novel, moral, rather than material, "Great Expectations" inspire individuals to engage in ethical thinking, and, by extension, the role of literature in doing so.

The Effect of Project-based Learning on EFL Learners' Motivation to Speak; A Quantitative Analysis

Abstract

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a student-centered teaching method in which learners collaborate on real-world tasks that promote active learning and meaningful language use. This study investigates students’ perceptions of PBL’s impact on their motivation to speak English, a relatively underexplored area in Iraqi EFL contexts. It also examines whether PBL helps reduce speaking anxiety and fear of negative evaluation, and how it fosters a learner-centered classroom environment marked by collaboration, independence, and authentic communication. The study involved 57 second-year students at the University of Duhok who engaged in PBL instruction over two academic semesters. Data were collected through a quantitative questionnaire with closed-ended items. Findings indicate that students perceived PBL as enhancing their motivation to speak English and lowering anxiety. They also reported increased confidence, enjoyment, participation, and comfort when working with peers. Overall, the results suggest that PBL supports speaking motivation and contributes to a more positive learner-centered learning environment.

Abstract

This research will explore how contemporary literature in English has dealt with the spectre of artificial intelligence and the entry of AI into our lives by wrestling with the complicated issues of authorship, creativity, identity and narrative form that the advent of AI has engendered. This does not treat AI like any other tech phenomenon beast, but a social/cultural phenomenon that in its turn interrupts and disrupts literary production and critical reading alike. The section to follow then links posthuman identity and Digital mediation and surveillance, especially as they relate to AI-based systems of address and the ethical contradictions they enable, to the book's primary case study Blackfish City (2018), by Sam J. Miller. The project based, in theory, on posthumanist theory, digital humanities, and cultural criticism contends that contemporary literature does not merely mirror technological change, but rather, that it wrestles with the social consequences of technological change on the one hand or human agency or social justice on the other. It concludes that artificial intelligence does not obliterate human imagination but instead transforms it into a new realm of interaction with machine creativity.

Abstract

This study presents an exploratory, critical-cognitive analysis of selected UK governmental texts on live facial recognition technology. It aims to fill a gap in the literature regarding the types of cognitive strategies used in the government’s surveillance discourse to legitimise the mentioned technology and manipulate the public. To achieve its purpose, the study analyses three articles produced by official UK government institutions. It adopts van Dijk’s Ideological Square (1998) for the macroanalysis and Lakoff’s Idealised Cognitive Models (1987) for the microanalysis. It follows a qualitative analysis, with a limited quantitative analysis of the cognitive strategy frequency counts. The study finds that image schemas, metaphors, and metonymies are the most widely used cognitive strategies in the UK government’s discourse in the selected corpus. The findings highlight the importance of reinforcing the critical awareness of how language is used to legitimise surveillance, enabling the public, the media, and decision-makers to deal more consciously with government discourse in this context.

A Pragmatic Analysis of Persuasive Strategies in Fake News in Facebook and X platforms

Abstract

This study examines how online platforms such as Facebook and X contribute to the spread of fake news as a persuasive communicative practice influencing opinions, attitudes, and decision-making. It searches to fill the gap of the cognitive frames underlying fake news and analyze pragmatically how these frames function to achieve persuasion. The research adopts a descriptive design based on content analysis of sixty highly engaged fake reports by adopting cognitive blend theory, evenly selected from both platforms. Findings show that fake news frequently relies on fear, victimhood, moral polarization, and conspiracy frames, expressed through emotionally charged and strategic language. Persuasive techniques include hyperbole, implicatures, presuppositions, and indirectness to shape audience interpretation and response. These linguistic and cognitive strategies intensify message impact and credibility. The study concludes that understanding pragmatic cognitive framing is crucial for designing effective media-literacy interventions and strengthening public resistance to misinformation in digital communication environments.

أدّى ظهور المنصّات الإلكترونية مثل Facebook وX إلى تفشّي الأخبار الزائفة، التي غدت ممارسة تواصلية شائعة تؤثّر في تكوين الرأي والاتجاهات وفي اتخاذ القرارات المبنية على المعرفة. وعليه، تقترح هذه الدراسة تحديد الأطر المعرفية المستخدمة في ممارسات الأخبار الزائفة، من خلال تحليل تداولي يبيّن الكيفية التي تُوظَّف بها هذه الأطر المعرفية لتحقيق الإقناع. يعتمد تصميم البحث المنهج الوصفي، ويتضمّن تحليل محتوى لستين تقريرًا زائفًا من الأخبار المزيّفة، بواقع ثلاثين تقريرًا من فيسبوك وثلاثين تقريرًا من منصة إكس، جرى تحديدها محليًا على هذه المنصّات نظرًا لارتفاع مستويات التفاعل مع محتواها الزائف. وتُظهر النتائج أنّ ممارسات الأخبار الزائفة ترتكز بصورة شائعة على أطر الخوف، والضحية، والاستقطاب الأخلاقي، ونظريات المؤامرة، حيث تُفعَّل تداوليًا عبر لغة الخوف والضحية والأخلاق والمؤامرة على التوالي، وتُستعمل لنقل رسائل تتّسم بالمبالغة في العرض، من خلال الرسائل التضخيمية، والاستلزمات التخاطبية، والافتراضات المسبقة، والتوظيف الاستراتيجي للأسلوب غير المباشر في الممارسة اللغوية. وتخلص الدراسة إلى أنّ اعتماد مقاربة تداولية في تحليل ممارسات التأطير المعرفي يُعدّ أمرًا جوهريًا في تطوير تدخلات فاعلة في مجال التربية الإعلامية لمواجهة الأخبار الزائفة.

Abstract

The article provides a comparison of Frankenstein in Baghdad by Ahmed Saadawi and The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien, claiming that both works use the concept of ethical fragmentation, a conscious breaking of the narrative unity as a moral reaction to mass violence. It has three claims based on trauma theory by Cathy Caruth, Dominick LaCapra, and Marianne Hirsch, and postcolonial critique by Stef Craps: OBrien uses metafiction and Saadawi polyphony are different but ethically similar; their difference is combatant-civilian asymmetry; and dialogic reading shows the limitations of Western models of individual trauma and emphasizes collective witnessing. The paper suggests a Memory-Violence-Representation nexus and the idea of a communal mnemonic archive, which places the novel by Saadawi at the center of the world trauma literature and contributes to developing the instruments of analyzing postcolonial trauma.

تقدم هذه المقالة مقارنة بين روايتي "فرانكشتاين في بغداد" لأحمد السعداوي و"الأشياء التي حملوها" لتيم أوبراين، مؤكدةً أن العملين يستخدمان مفهوم التفكك الأخلاقي، أي الكسر الواعي لوحدة السرد كرد فعل أخلاقي على العنف الجماعي. وتستند المقالة إلى ثلاثة ادعاءات مبنية على نظرية الصدمة النفسية لكاثي كاروث، ودومينيك لاكابرا، وماريان هيرش، والنقد ما بعد الاستعماري لستيف كرابس: يستخدم أوبراين أسلوب ما وراء السرد، بينما يستخدم السعداوي أسلوب التعدد الصوتي، وهما مختلفان لكنهما متشابهان أخلاقياً؛ ويكمن الاختلاف بينهما في عدم التكافؤ بين المقاتل والمدني؛ وتُظهر القراءة الحوارية قصور النماذج الغربية للصدمة الفردية، وتؤكد على أهمية الشهادة الجماعية. وتقترح المقالة وجود صلة بين الذاكرة والعنف والتمثيل، وفكرة الأرشيف التذكاري الجماعي، مما يضع رواية السعداوي في صميم أدب الصدمة النفسية العالمي، ويسهم في تطوير أدوات تحليل الصدمة النفسية ما بعد الاستعمارية.

Abstract

The paper examines metaphor as a linguistic substitution strategy in the poetry of Al-Garbawi, with respect to both its cognitive and structural roles. Based on Lakoff and Johnson’s theory (1980), this study tries to answer definite questions, such as: what metaphors does the poet Al-Gharbawi employ in his poetry to turn the abstract entities into tangible ones? ‎ and What does his use of metaphors add to the interpretation of human experience for readers?‎ To achieve this, a qualitative approach is applied, and eight poetic verses are analyzed to identify lexical metaphors and to examine how they construct meaning through substitution. The analysis identifies three prevailing types of metaphors: structural, ontological, and orientational. According to the findings, the functioning of metaphor in Al-Garbawi's poems extends beyond a stylistic and metrical decoration to a thinking process that renders abstract experience tangible and vibrant in its manifestations and conceptually readable in general. ‎

تتناول هذه الورقة البحثية الاستعارة كاستراتيجية استبدال لغوي في شعر رحيم الغرباوي، مع التركيز على دورها المعرفي والبنيوي. وانطلاقًا من نظرية الاستعارة المفاهيمية التي طرحها لاكوف وجونسون، تهدف هذه الدراسة الى الإجابة على الاسئلة البحثية التالية: ما نوع الاستعارة التي وظفها الشاعر رحيم الغرباوي لتحويل العناصر المجردة الى عناصر ملموسة وواقعية؟ وما الذي يضيفه توظيف الاستعارة في اثراء فهم القارئ بتفسير التجارب الإنسانية. للإجابة عن الأسئلة المطروحة وباستخدام منهج نوعي، تم تحليل ثمانية أبيات شعرية لتحديد الاستعارات المعجمية ودراسة كيفية بنائها للمعنى من خلال الاستبدال. ويشير التحليل إلى ثلاثة أنواع سائدة من الاستعارات: البنيوية، والوجودية، والتوجيهية. بحسب النتائج، فإن وظيفة الاستعارة في قصائد الغربي تتجاوز كونها زخرفة أسلوبية ووزنية إلى عملية تفكير تجعل التجربة المجردة ملموسة وحيوية في مظاهرها وقابلة للقراءة المفاهيمية بشكل عام.

Abstract

In the realm of eloquence, the value of an utterance is inextricably linked to its stylistic expression. Nevertheless, maintaining register in simultaneous interpreting is a challenging task. The present study examines the maintenance of register in Arabic-English simultaneous interpreting, scrutinizing the role of nuances in navigating different linguistic and cultural systems. Employing a descriptive-analytical approach, this study assesses the process of simultaneous interpreting in the November 3, 2023, speech of Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah. A comparative analysis of source and target texts highlights the challenges of maintaining register, particularly in relation to culture-specific expressions and ideological rhetoric. The findings suggest that skilled interpreters employ strategies, such as adaptation, lexical synonymy, and explanation to facilitate communicative fluidity. This paper concludes that specialized training programs must emphasize register maintenance as a fundamental skill. Additionally, it proposes that there is a need for effective evaluation procedures to assess interpreter performance in high-stakes political discourse.

في ميدان الخطابات الموجهة للعامة، تزداد أو تقل قيمة أي خطاب تبعاً للأسلوب البلاغي المتبع عند إلقائه. تتناول هذه الدراسة التحديات المرتبطة بالحفاظ على المستوى الأسلوبي في الترجمة الفورية بين اللغتين العربية والإنجليزية. تستند الدراسة الحالية إلى خطاب السيد حسن نصر الله الذي ألقاه يوم الثالث من تشرين الثاني-نوفمبر 2023 حول طوفان الأقصى. وباستخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، تسعى الدراسة إلى فحص الخصائص اللغوية والأسلوبية في النصوص المصدرية والمستهدفة. وقد أبرزت النتائج صعوبة الحفاظ على الأسلوب الخطابي، خصوصاً عند التعامل مع المصطلحات ذات الخصوصية الثقافية. ومع ذلك، يلجأ المترجمون المحترفون إلى استراتيجيات مثل التكييف الثقافي، واستخدام المرادفات، وإضافة الإيضاحات لمعالجة هذه التحديات. وتؤكد الدراسة الحالية على ضرورة تضمين برامج تدريب المترجمين ما يُعنى بالحفاظ على الأسلوب الخطابي، وتقترح أدوات لتقييم الأداء تساعد في قياس قدرة المترجمين على نقل المستوى الأسلوبي بدقة في سياقات الترجمة الفورية.

Euphemism: A Way of Violating the Cooperative Principle in Iraqi Political Speech

Abstract

This study is conducted to probe the relationship of Iraqi political euphemism with the cooperative principle and politeness principle. Politician use political euphemism strategically to control the flow of information, and to conceal unpleasant realities and soften hard issues. They avoid making offensive statements by substituting terms that carry offensive connotations with more acceptable language. Data of this study is taken from an interview with a high status politician and statesman. A qualitative research methodology was employed, as the focus is on the words and expressions uttered by the politician. Grice (1975) and Leech (1983) were adopted as models of analysis. The study concluded that Iraqi politicians violate the cooperative principle by resorting to euphemistic expressions to achieve certain purposes. They tend to use certain linguistic devices like overstatements, understatements, periphrasis and metaphors. Moreover, Iraqi politicians tend to violate the cooperative principle while observing the politeness principle at the same time in their interviews.

تسعى هذه الدراسة إلى استقصاء العلاقة بين الكناية في الخطاب السياسي العراقي وكلٍّ من مبدأ التعاون ومبدأ التأدب. إذ يستخدم السياسيون الكناية بصورة استراتيجية للتحكم في تدفّق المعلومات، ولإخفاء الحقائق غير المرغوب فيها، ولتلطيف القضايا الشائكة. كما يتجنبون الإدلاء بتصريحات قد تُعدّ مسيئة من خلال استبدال الألفاظ ذات الدلالات السلبية أو الإيحائية المسيئة بتعابير أكثر قبولًا.
استندت بيانات هذه الدراسة إلى مقابلة أُجريت مع سياسي ورجل دولة رفيع المستوى. وقد اعتُمد المنهج النوعي في البحث، نظرًا لتركّز التحليل على الألفاظ والتعابير التي صدرت عن السياسي. وتم اعتماد نموذجي غرايس (1975) وليتش (1983) إطارين نظريين للتحليل.
وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أن السياسيين العراقيين ينتهكون مبدأ التعاون من خلال لجوئهم إلى الكناية لتحقيق مقاصد معينة. كما يميلون إلى توظيف بعض الوسائل اللغوية، مثل المبالغة، والتقليل، والإطناب (الدوران)، والاستعارة. فضلًا عن ذلك، يتبيّن أن السياسيين العراقيين ينتهكون مبدأ التعاون في مقابلاتهم مع مراعاة مبدأ التأدب في الوقت ذاته.

Psychological Analysis of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons Through Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs

Abstract

The present study employs qualitative textual analysis, supported by close reading of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, to explore the factors motivating the characters’ behaviors and actions as they strive to maintain psychological stability amid family chaos. While critics and scholars have focused on themes such as responsibility, loyalty, denial, and the American Dream, less attention has been given to examining the characters’ motivations in All My Sons through the lens of Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Drawing on Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, the study examines how the characters in All My Sons, including Joe Keller, Kate Keller, Chris Keller, and Ann Deever, are psychologically motivated to fulfill their needs. The study argues that the characters in All My Sons are driven by psychological motivational tendencies that shape their decision-making, self-esteem, love, and belonging. Thus, following Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, the analysis shows that the characters’ actions are built based on unmet physiological, self-esteem, love and belonging, and self-actualization needs. The study, then, finds that Joe Keller’s decisions stem from prioritizing physiological and safety needs, while Kate’s denial functions as a psychological defense against threats to family bonds and stability.

Abstract

This evolutionary psychology study analyzes Edward Rochester in Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre and Maxim de Winter in Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca. This article uses The Murderer Next Door: Why the Mind Is Designed to Kill's evolutionary theory to examine how both works' male characters exhibit masculine issues like infidelity, jealousy, and reputation loss, which may lead male protagonists to commit murder. The imprisonment of Bertha by Rochester and Rebecca's murder by her husband are seen as evolutionary manifestations of deep-rooted desires to manipulate women, maintain male dominance, and impose their social hierarchy. Instead of romantic heroes, patriarchal authority, survival instincts, and aggression are fostered by giving these people lethal attributes, according to the report. The examination shows how Brontë and du Maurier challenge the Gothic hero stereotype by exploring the psychological and evolutionary causes of his protective behavior.

تُحلِّل هذه الدراسة، في إطار علم النفس التطوري، شخصية إدوارد روتشستر في رواية جين آير لشارلوت برونتي وماكسيم دي ونترفي رواية ريبيكا لدافني دو مورييه. يستخدم هذا المقال نظرية التطور من كتاب القاتل الذي في الجوار: لماذا العقل مصمم للقتل، من أجل تحليل الكيفية التي تُجسِّد بها الشخصيات الذكورية في العملين قضايا ذكورية مثل الخيانة، والغيرة، والخوف من فقدان السمعة، وهي عوامل قد تدفع الأبطال الذكور إلى ارتكاب جريمة القتل.
ويُفسَّر احتجاز برثا على يد روتشستر، وقتل ريبيكا على يد زوجها، بوصفهما مظهرين تطوريين لرغبات راسخة في السيطرة على المرأة، والحفاظ على الهيمنة الذكورية، وفرض التراتبية الاجتماعية. وبدلاً من تقديم هاتين الشخصيتين في صورة البطل الرومانسي، يبيّن البحث أن السمات المرتبطة بالسلطة الأبوية، وغريزة البقاء، والنزعة العدوانية تتعزّز من خلال إضفاء خصائص قاتلة عليهما.

Recently, artificial intelligence has become a significant part of the educational system. It is characterized by transforming the education system's functioning, increasing institutions' competitiveness, and empowering teachers as well as students at all language levels. Voice aids, like Apple Siri, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa, allow students to interact with different learning materials without communicating with their teacher. The current study investigates EFL university students’ awareness of artificial intelligence in the overall educational system. It also seeks to examine the efficiency of artificial intelligence, specifically in the language learning process. The nature of this study is a descriptive one. Twenty university students were chosen to be the sample of this study. Closed-ended questions are the type of questionnaire utilized in the current study. The results of the questionnaire reveal that the majority of university students are aware of artificial intelligence tools when assisting and developing their proficiency and competency levels.

أصبح الذكاء الاصطناعي مؤخراً جزءاً لا يتجزأ من النظام التعليمي، إذ يتميز بقدرته على إحداث نقلة نوعية في أداء النظام، وتعزيز تنافسية المؤسسات التعليمية، وتمكين المعلمين والطلبة على حد سواء في جميع مستويات اللغة. تتيح المساعدات الصوتية، مثل سيري من آبل، وجوجل هوم، وأمازون أليكسا، للطلبة التفاعل مع مختلف المواد التعليمية دون الحاجة إلى التواصل مع معلميهم. تستكشف هذه الدراسة مدى وعي طلبة الجامعات دارسي اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية للذكاء الاصطناعي في النظام التعليمي ككل، كما تسعى إلى دراسة فعاليته، وتحديدًا في عملية تعلم اللغة. هذه الدراسة وصفية في طبيعتها، وقد تم اختيار عشرين طالبًا جامعيًا كعينة للدراسة. استُخدمت في هذه الدراسة استبانة تتضمن أسئلة مغلقة. أظهرت نتائج الاستبانة أن غالبية طلبة الجامعات على دراية بأدوات الذكاء الاصطناعي ودورها في دعم وتطوير مستويات كفاءتهم ومهاراتهم اللغوية.

Abstract

The traditional approaches in English language teaching are based on clearly defined methods that specify which approaches should be followed. These approaches determine what teaching methods should be used in classrooms, how they are implemented, and the expected role of the teacher. However, such traditional approaches are often criticized for their inability to meet the real-world demands of ELT classrooms. This paper investigates how these approaches respond to various classroom constraints. It also explores how English language teachers can move beyond traditional methods. The study is grounded in theoretical frameworks such as contextual sensitivity, pedagogical flexibility, and teacher autonomy. It adopts a qualitative and conceptual research design, drawing on ideas from both traditional ELT approaches and postmethod pedagogy. The findings suggest that teaching beyond fixed methods represents the most effective and achievable approach for ELT teachers in adapting to diverse classroom situations.

Abstract

This paper explores how a modern asylum is portrayed in the novels The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, depicting characters who are marginalised due to mental disabilities. Through the analysis of the characters' experiences and the settings in which they find refuge, this paper highlights the role of the "relational asylums", presenting a form of shelter that is rooted in interpersonal guardianship not institutional confinement. Drawing on ideas from disability studies and the works of Michel Foucault on madness, and by placing the Foucauldian confinement in mid of dialogue alongside disability studies' critique of normativity, this paper demonstrates how the novels replace the institutional exclusion with fragile care of relatives. Faulkner and Steinbeck, hence, critique the formal institutions' failure, while offering a substitute for care, which is based on the human connection.

تبحث هذه الدراسة في الكيفية التي يتجلى بها الملاذ الحديث في روايتي "الصخب والعنف" للأديب وليام فوكنر و"فئران و رجال" للأديب جون شتاينبك, حيث تصوّر كلتا الروايتين شخصيات تتعرض للتهميش بسبب إعاقاتها الجسدية والعقلية، مما ينتج عنه مواجهة سوء الفهم والقسوة. ومن خلال تحليل تجربة المعاناة لهذه الشخصيات والفضاءات التي تأوي إليها، يسلط هذا البحث الضوء على مفهوم "الملاذات القائمة على العلاقات الإنسانية". واستناداً إلى مقولات دراسات الإعاقة وأعمال ميشيل فوكو حول الجنون، ترى الورقة أن هذه الملاجئ، على الرغم من قصورها لكونها لا تُمنح بواسطة مؤسسة بل بواسطة فرد يتخذ دور الحامي والوصي، إلا أنها تمنح الشخصيات المعاقة إحساساً بالانتماء والأمان. وهكذا، ينقد فوكنر وشتاينبك إخفاق المؤسسات الرسمية في تقديم الرعاية، ويقترحان بديلاً قائماً على الصلة الإنسانية، غير أنهما يتفقان على حقيقة موجعة: حتى أكثر الأوصياء إخلاصاً لا يستطيعون حماية ذوي الإعاقة بشكل كامل من مجتمع يرفض كل من يختلف عنه.

Abstract

While loanword research often prioritizes phonology, the morphological dimension remains understudied. This study addresses that gap by analyzing morphological drift in 150 English loanwords from 1900–2019 using the Corpus of Historical American English (COHA).
Employing quantitative methods—including logistic regression and time-series modeling—alongside qualitative concordance analysis, the research tracks how diverse borrowings adapt to English inflectional patterns. Findings indicate that regularization is the primary driver of change: 89% of analyzed terms adopted standard English inflections by the study’s end. This shift is most pronounced in high-frequency contexts, while morphological variability persists mainly in low-frequency items.
Ultimately, these results illuminate the cognitive mechanisms and language contact dynamics that shape morphological productivity. This work provides a crucial framework for understanding how borrowed lexemes are systematically integrated into a host language’s grammatical structure over time.

تناولت هذه الدراسة ظاهرة الانحراف الصرفي للكلمات المستعارة حديثًا في اللغة الإنجليزية. ومن خلال التحليل الكامل لمجموعة بيانات اللغة الإنجليزية الأمريكية التاريخية (COHA)، بحثنا في كيفية خضوع الكلمات أو المفردات المقترضة (الكلمات المستعارة) للتكيف الصرفي مع التركيز على التفاعل بين التسوية بالقياس والتنظيم الصرفي، باستخدام بيانات تمتد من عام 1900 إلى عام 2019. ويتتبع هذا البحث تطور النمط التصريفي أو السلوك الصرفي لـ 150 مفردة مستعارة (كلمة دخيلة) من لغات أصلية (اشتقاقية) مختلفة.
تشير الأدلة إلى أن عملية التنظيم اللغوي أكثر هيمنة، بينما يُظهر التباين الصرفي في الكلمات المستعارة ذات التكرار المنخفض. يقدم هذا البحث رؤية قيّمة لفهمنا للآليات المعرفية، والتداخل اللغوي، والإنتاجية الصرفية التي تُحرك التغير اللغوي

Mapping the Multiple Intelligence Profiles of EFL Teachers and Their Alignment with Instructional Practices: Evidence from Baghdad Elementary Schools

Abstract

This study surveyed 120 EFL teachers from 24 public elementary schools in Baghdad using the Multiple Intelligence Inventory for Teachers (MIIT), a 45-item Instructional Practice Questionnaire (IPQ), and a structured classroom observation protocol. Descriptive statistics revealed that interpersonal intelligence was the most dominant profile in the sample (M = 3.95, SD = 0.61), followed by linguistic (M = 3.88, SD = 0.64) and bodily-kinesthetic intelligences (M = 3.71, SD = 0.68), while naturalistic (M = 2.68) and logical-mathematical (M = 2.79) intelligences were the least developed. These patterns are consistent with the relational, physical, and communicative demands of elementary English language instruction, and depart meaningfully from MI profiles reported for Iraqi university-level EFL teachers. Correlation analyses demonstrated significant positive associations between teachers' dominant intelligence profiles and corresponding instructional strategies. These findings carry important implications for MI-informed teacher preparation, in-service professional development, and curriculum design in Iraq's elementary EFL sector.

تقدم هذه الدراسة تحليلا نقديا معرفيا استكشافيا لمجموعة من النصوص الحكومية البريطانية المختارة حول تقنية التعرف على الوجوه الحية. وتهدف الدراسة لتغطية فجوة في الأدبيات فيما يتعلق بأنواع الاستراتيجيات المعرفية المستخدمة في الخطاب الرسمي للحكومة لإضفاء الشرعية على تقنية الوجوه الحيّة والتلاعب بالرأي العام. ولتحقيق هذا الغرض، تقوم الدراسة بتحليل ثلاث مقالات من انتاج مؤسسات رسمية في الحكومة البريطانية. تتبنى الدراسة المربع الايديولوجي لفان دايك (1998) للتحليل على المستوى الكلي والنماذج المعرفية المثالية للاكوف (1987) للتحليل على المستوى الجزئي. تتبع الدراسة تحليلا نوعيا مع تحليل كمي محدود لحساب التكرار الحاصل في الاستراتيجيات المعرفية. وتشير النتائج الى أن مخططات التصور، والاستعارات، والمجازات المرسلة هي الاكثر استخداما في خطاب الحكومة البريطانية في المتن المدروس. تبرز النتائج اهمية تعزيز الوعي النقدي في كيفية استخدام اللغة لإضفاء الشرعية على المراقبة، بما يمكّن العامّة، والاعلام، وصناع القرار من التعامل بوعي اكبر مع الخطاب الحكومي في هذا السياق.

A Critical Stylistic Analysis of Themes Representing Local Iraqi and American Communities in Selected Novels

Abstract

The present study traces, qualitatively, how themes representing Iraqi and American local societies are reproduced. Jeffries’ (2010) ten textual conceptual functions (or tools) is adopted to analyse twenty-four extracts selected from Antoon’s The Corpse Washer (2010) and Morrison’s Tar Baby (1981). Antoon has criticised the Iraqi regime (1968-2003) and the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, regarding them as the main reasons for the suffering of Iraqi locals, while Morrison has condemned the white hegemony, regarding it among the reasons for raping and enslaving the local societies, and her African American is one of them. The study finds that Jeffries’ functions have been used similarly in the two novels, even though there are instances of difference, and reports the percentages. The use of unmarked (direct and active) language, the main characters’ ambitions for change, the rejection of these changes by other members of their local society, the focus on using material processes, the use of existential propositions, and the extensive use of slavery and raping vocabularies are examples of textual and conceptual tools for such a conclusion.

تتعقب الدراسة الحالية تمثيل الثيمات المحلية في المجتمعات المحلية العراقية والأمريكية (المتمثلة بالأشخاص العاديين) من خلال دراسة الوظائف المفاهيمية العشر النصية (أو الأدوات) التي اقترحتها جيفريز (2010) في نموذجها الأسلوبي النقدي. اعتمادا على المنهج النوعي، تم اختيار اربع و عشرين مقطعا من روايتي "وحدها شجرة الرمان" ل للروائي العراقي سنان انطون و "طفل القطران" للروائية الامريكية توني موريسون لتكون عينة الدراسة. قام أنطون بانتقاد النظام العراقي (1968-2003) والغزو الأمريكي للعراق في عام 2003، واعتبرهما السبب الرئيسي لمعاناة المجتمع المحلي العراقي وموضوعات الفقر وتدهور التعليم وانعدام الأمن. ومن ناحية أخرى، أدانت موريسون الهيمنة البيضاء، معتبرة إياها من بين أسباب اغتصاب المجتمعات المحلية واستعبادها، وشخصيتها الأمريكية الأفريقية واحدة من تلك المجتمعات. وتجد الدراسة أن وظائف جيفريز تم استخدامها بشكل مشابه في الروايتين، على الرغم من وجود بعض الفروقات، وتعرض الدراسة النسب المئوية لذلك. ومن الناحية الأيديولوجية، تم إعادة إنتاج كلا المجتمعين ليكونا جريحين فرديًا وجماعيًا . و من اهم النتائج على توظيف إعادة النتاج هذا هو استخدام اللغة غير الموسومة (المباشرة والنشطة)، وطموحات الشخصيات الرئيسية في التغيير، ورفض هؤلاء التغييرات من قبل أعضاء آخرين في مجتمعهم المحلي، والتركيز على استخدام العمليات المادية، واستخدام المقولات الوجودية، والاستخدام المكثف لمفردات العبيد والاغتصاب.

Ideology and Neutrality in News Reporting: A Critical Discourse Analysis of Selected Fox News Reports on the US-Israel-Iran War

Abstract

This paper uses a CDA approach to investigate how Fox News reporters report on the war between US-Israel and Iran that started on February 28, 2026. It aims to examine the ideological implications conveyed by Fox News reporters when reporting the news. The study hypothesizes that Fox News reporters are not neutral but display a bigoted and biased ideology towards the conflicting parties. This study uses Van Dijk’s (1998) model of ‘ideological square,’ and the analysis is limited to investigating selected discourse features that are of importance in the data under study. Finally, the study concludes with some findings that support the hypothesis.
