About the Journal
Description
The Basrah Journal for Engineering Science (BJES) is an open-access, peer-reviewed bi-annual journal (two issues per year) that aims to publish original research papers on the latest developments and techniques in various fields of engineering science and their applications to the real world. The BJES is the official journal of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, issued by the College of Engineering, University of Basrah, Basrah, Iraq. The submitted papers should be written in English, and all submissions should be made through the online EDAS system. Papers may be theoretical (including computational), experimental, or both. The contribution should be unpublished before and not considered for publication elsewhere. BJES maintains a standard double-blind peer review process, which means that the identities of the authors and the reviewers are not known to each other. BJES is an Open Access Journal, which supports the rights of users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles provided they are adequately acknowledged by cited.

Steps For Manuscript Submission
Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not have been previously published or concurrently under consideration by another journal.
Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts according to the journal’s Author Guidelines. The submission process is conducted online via the EDAS platform and follows the steps outlined below:

After submitting and completing all essential forms, writers will receive a confirmation email with a registration acknowledgment.
After submitting, upload the document using the system.
EDAS will send a notice verifying the successful upload.
The editorial staff will undertake an initial inspection to detect plagiarism and content similarities.
If the article fulfills the first screening requirements, it will be sent to a minimum of three professional reviewers for peer review, as per the journal’s review policy.
Production staff will contact the authors to prepare the manuscript and assign a DOI.
The final version of the work will be published in the relevant issue (February or July), with an allocated volume and issue number.
