The International Journal of Religions and CivilizationsReligion has long been one of the most prominent factors in the emergence of civilizations and a fundamental element in the development of global civilizations. The religious factor has dominated the historical and civilizational trajectory of humanity, and religion is the broadest and deepest sphere in which human perfection is realized. It is one of the most significant phenomena in human history, as billions of people belong to religions and defend them. Various sects and denominations have emerged from religions, leading to the assertion that there is no religion without its divisions. Thus, a follower may have a general affiliation and a specific affiliation. A scholar of religion cannot overlook the study of sects, which can be categorized into two types: major sects, which are historically integrated and enduring systems, and minor sects, which are groups with ideologies and concepts stemming from a human understanding of them. These are contrasted with (opinions and beliefs) that are separate from religion and revelation, such as secularism, Marxism, and capitalism. Today, religions, in terms of their followers and their transnational, geographical, and social cultural nature, appear in various forms, including ethnic religions like Judaism and missionary religions like Christianity. Moreover, religion has become a hidden inner force, as evidenced by the Soviet experience, which, when it eradicated religiosity, found itself facing a resurgence after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
