The present study was conducted to know the effect of alcoholic extract of Nerium oleander leafs on some biochemical parameters as well as the histological changes in liver and kidney in male albino rats. Twenty mature albino rats were randomly divided one word groups: control group and treatment group. Control group was treated with drinking water for (6 weeks), while treatment group was treated with 4 mg/kg B.W of alcoholic extract of Nerium oleander leafs. Blood samples were collected every 3 weeks to make biochemical parameters. The results showed significant decrease (P<0.05) in Total protein , albumin and significant increase (P<0.05) in amino transmission enzymes concentration (AST and ALT) , urine and keratinin concentration in treatment group compared with control group. The study reveals high toxic effect of plant on all body tissues.

Three hundred children were examined for detecting of Enterobius vermicularis ( pinworm ) at primary schools in Wasit province. The cellulose adhesive ( Scotch ) tape method was employed . All were examined once except for few cases. The incidence among 300 patients was 65.3 % ; that of 116 patients was males ( 59.1 % ) and 80 patients was females (40.9%).There was no difference in infection rate with regard to sex. The peak age of infection was the 6 to 9 year old group. According to the districts , the study appeared a higher incidence in rural areas than urban. This is statistically significant.

In this research a new mosaics method to build larg image from different satellite senses by using slide window technique is presented. That depend on using radon projections (line integrals) as features to compare instead of comparing each element in the slide windows. This new method and its faster version proved to be a fast matching method than the regular RMS method; therefore, it can be adopted in the satellite images mosaics to build a complete view from separated views for the same location.

This study was conducted on hamdani lambs to compare two systems of feeding , The first system was ad libitum feeding on concentrate ration and the second system was grazing on pasture with supplementation of concentrate ration as in the first system at 1.5 % of animal body weight in order to reach two slaughter weight 35kg and 45kg . The results of this study showed significant increase( p< 0.05 ) in muscular and bone tissue percentages as well as in moisture, protein and ash percentages in lamb carcasses with tail fat for the second system , while increasing slaughter weight from 35kg to 45kg caused significant decreas( p< 0.05 ) in muscular and bone tissue also moisture percentage and significant increase ( p< 0.05 ) in fat tissue percentage and fat percentage in lamb cacasses with tail fat . Study did not show any affectivness in palatability of meat by the factors above .So we sow some improvement in meat quality characters in the second feeding system and no benefit in meat quality by increasing slaughter weight for 45kg .

Morphological development on InSb(001) surfaces, under ion irradiation, has been investigated by means of Atomic Force Microscopy in UHV conditions. The InSb(001) surface has been exposed to Ar+ beam with varying incident angles (from 0° to 80° off-normal) for energy 4.0 keV and fluence 4x1017 ion/cm2. Different kinds of nanostructures, depending on ion incident angle, have been observed on the irradiated surfaces such as nanocavities, or nanorings and nanodots, preferentially for close to normal incidence, and well-order ripples for the oblique incidence. The formation of ripple structures on InSb(001) surfaces as a function of the incidence angle has been observed. The orientation of the ripples has been found to be incident angle dependent and it is perpendicular, or parallel to the ion beam projection on the irradiated surface for angles of 45° and 80°, respectively.. The results have been discussed in terms of ballistic processes of sputtering and Bradley Harper theory for surface modifications.

This study aimed to determine the best active formula of many preparations of biocontrol factor (Paecilomyces lilacinus) fungus used in soil treatment ,and study the effect of different-store environments(room temperature, refrigerator and freezing) in its biological activity(for two years). The results showed that the addition of active material of biocontrol factor ( spores and mycelium ) on mixture consistent of pollen fungi + Corn cob cracked +Wheat bran(1:2.5:0.5) was of high efficiency in keeping high activity under field environments .This preparation caused a significant decrease in Tomato Root-knot disease caused by Meloidogyne javanica nematode and a significant increase in the average of plants growth in green house and field experiments. Furthermore storage under Freezing environments was damaging in the activity of biocontrol factor, and the storage under room temperature or refrigeration was less damaging especially during the first six months of storing processes

Flexure strength of Aluminum composite reinforced with iron fiber has been investigated.Atomization procsses method were used to prepare sheet of aluminum reinforced with iron fiber with direction (0-90°) and (0-45°) to cognition fiber direction effect on flecture strength values.The results shows that the values of maximum bending stress, yield stress and young modulus of aluminum reiforced with iron fibers direction (0-90) higher than for the aluminum reinforced with fibers direction (0-45). The optical microscopy and photographic pictures shown the fracture surface of the tested specimens and fibers segmented and supported the rising in the flecture strength values of the aluminum composites(0-90).

The Lanthanide carbonates, Ln2(CO3)3.nH2O of LnX3.nH2O (Ln= Dysprosium Dy, Holmium Ho, Cerium Ce and Europium Eu ; X-= Cl- or NO3-, n = 4-6) have been prepared by a novel synthetic method involving the reaction of aqueous solutions of the lanthanide metal ions with urea at ~850C for two hours. The reaction products were characterized via elemental analysis technique , infrared spectroscopy , volumetric and gravimetric analysis method. General reaction equations describing the formation of lanthanide carbonate compounds were proposed

The objective of this study was to measure the alterations in serum trace elements copper (Cu), chromium (Cr) and zinc (Zn) in children with jaundice and compare them with the results of healthy individuals by using AAS. Significant low serum levels of Zn and high level of serum Cu and chromium were observed in children with jaundice as compared with normal healthy controls.. The study showed that Cu, Zn and Cr concentrations in serum of jaundice were (175.6±47,5 μg /dL ,95±67μg /dL and 7.98±0.54 μg /dL)respectively. In healthy individuals these concentrations were 109.3±13.72 μg /dL,106.55±11.7 μg /dL and3.8 ±0.48 μg /dL) respectively.

In this papers we study a new concept namely (M-approximate cofibration) Mixed Approximate Cofibration and(M-approximate Hurewicz cofibration) Mixed approximate Hurewicz cofibration. Most of theorem which are valid for cofibration will also be valid for (M- cofibration); the others will be valid if we add extra conditions . Among the results we obtain are:
1-A product of two Mixed approximate Cofibration(Mixed approximate Hurewicz cofibration) is also a Mixed approximate Cofibration(Mixed approximate Hurewicz cofibration)

Significant growth of aerobic and facultative anaerobic bacteria was obtained from 43 specimens collected from sexually active nonpregnant women (20-40 years old) with aerobic vaginitis. Gram positive bacteria were isolated from 24 cases (55.8%), whereas Gram negative enteric rods were isolated from 14 cases (32.55%). Staphylococcus. aureus and coagulase negative staphylococci (CNS) were isolated from 12 cases for each (27.90%) followed by Escherichia coli 11 (25.58%), Enterobacter spp. 2 (4.65%), and Klebsiella pneumoniae 1 (2.32%). Mixed infection was noted in 4 cases: S. aureus with Streptococcus sp. 1 (2.32%); CNS with Streptococcus sp. 1 (2.32%); and CNS with E. coli 2 (4.65%). Yeast was isolated from one case (2.32%). There were few antibiotics among the conventionally available antibacterial agents possessing good sensitivity (>80%) against any one of the common aerobic vaginal pathogens. For S. aureus and CNS, imipenem was the most effective 100% and 83.3%, respectively. Most of them were resistant to penicillis, third generation cephalosporins, methicillin, metronidazol, and vancomycin. For E. coli, 100% of the isolates were sensitive to imipenem, 84.6% to chloramphenico, and 76.9% to norfloxacin and gentamicin. On the other hand most of E. coli isolates were resistant to penicillins ,third generation cephalosporins and tetracyclines. In conclusion, aerobic vaginitis can be an origin of more serious deeper infections in these patients, for that such cases must be taken in account and routine cultures and antibiotic sensitivity tests must be done for such cases in our clinical laboratories.

The interacting boson model IBM-1 has been applied to some 62Sm even-even isotopes .
This study has included calculation of the positive-parity collectiv g-band and β,γ –degenerate bands of 148 62Sm, 150 62Sm, 152 62Sm and 154 62Sm isotopes and compared with experimental values of energy level. The used Hamiltonian parameters correspond to description close to the U(5)-SU(3). The potential energy surfaces E(β,γ) as function of geometrical parameter β and γ for these isotopes can be obtained where they were represented by contour lines and the minimum value of deformation factor βmin was fixed , which was in front of Emin, and so the γ factor. The transition from the spherical to the rotational shape can be observed in these isotopes. In the framework of IBM-1 , what we conclude from the energy spectra study and the geometrical picture of potential energy surface for these nuclei is that these nuclei are spherical shape (U(5)symmetry), prolate rotational shape (SU(3)symmetry) and deformed shape between these two symmetry limits in the U(5)-SU(3)transitional region

Type 2 diabetes mellitus ( T2DM ) is a metabolic disease that is associated with an increased risk for atherosclerosis. Leptin is a hormone – like cytokine that is derived mainly from adipose tissue and has multiple functions. Recently, many vascular and atherogenic effects for leptin have been demonstrated. The aim was to study serum leptin level and its relationship with some cardiovascular risk factors in T2DM patients. Forty diabetic males with ischemic heart disease (IHD group), aged ≥ 40 years old, were compared with 40 diabetic males of similar ages who had no clinical history of IHD (DM group). Each main study group was divided into two subgroups according to the presence or absence of metabolic syndrome. The IHD group was also subdivided according to their clinical endpoints into stable angina pectoris (angina group), significant coronary artery disease on angiography (angiography group ) and myocardial infarction (MI group ). In addition to anthropometric measurements; serum lipid profile, thiobarbituric acid -reactive substances (TBARS) and leptin levels as well as plasma fibrinogen level were quantified .
A highly significant increase of mean serum leptin level was observed in IHD group iin comparriison wiitth tthatt off DM grroup (11.56  10.27 vs. 7.39  3.54 ng /3ml, p<0.01). IIHD pattiientts showed a hiighlly siigniiffiicantt iincrrease iin serrum llevell off
TBARS iin comparriison wiitth tthatt off DM grroup ((9.00  3.61vs. 6.65  2.41 mol (MDA)/L, P<0.001). The mean plasma level of fibrinogen is significantly higher in IHD group than in DM group (3.30  0.65 vs. 2.99  0.63 g/dl, p < 0.05). Serum leptin level was significantly higher in (angiography group) but not in (angina group) while the level was even lower in (MI group) when compared with that of DM group. A significant increase of mean serum leptin level was observed in IHD subgroup with non-metabolic syndrome in comparison with the D.M subgroup with non-metabolic syndrome (13.06  11.01 vs. 7.06  3.08 ng/ml, P<0.05). In IHD group, serum leptin level showed a positive correlation with BMI ,W/h ratio, serum TBARS, and plasma fibrinogen. In DM group, serum leptin level showed a positive correlation with BMI, W/h ratio, and plasma fibrinogen, while insignificantly correlated with TBARS. In conclusion, T2DM patients with IHD have an elevated serum leptin level that is associated with oxidative stress, inflammation and active or worsening ischemic heart disease independent of metabolic syndrome. Thus, serum leptin level could be an additional factor to assess cardiovascular risk

A microscopic examination of multiple faeces samples of 600 persons was carried out in Al-Karama hospital,Wasit province from October 2009 to Feberuary 2010. Overall prevalence of Entamoeba histolytica was 60(10%). Prevalence increased rapidly in age group(1day-10year) and there were no real differences between males and females. Prevalence was higher among families who live in rural areas than those in urban areas. The highest infection rate was recorded in December and the lowest was recorded in October.

The study aimed to detect fungal contamination and FB1 concentration in local rice. Five isolations of Fusarium moniliform were tested for FB1 production in rice medium. The effects of five strategies to detoxify FB1 were also studied. The following fungal genera were isolated from the rice kernels: Alternaria spp., Aspergillus spp., Fusarium spp., Penicillium spp., Rhizoctonia spp. and Rhizopus spp. The samples of rice cleared from FB1. The five isolations varied in FB1 production on rice medium, and the concentration ranged from 524.3 to 825.3 µg /kg. The FB1 eliminated percentage by using calcium hydroxide 1%, 2%, active charcoal 1 %, 2 %, fructose 1 %, 2 %, parboiling, frying and microwaving 80w, 100w were 80.4%, 84.3%, 45.8%, 50.04%, 30.4%, 32.3%, 73.8%, 26.2% and 69.7%, 73.08% respectively.

Municipal solid waste is of variable, non-uniform inconsistent nature and the method by which the sample is obtained is critical if the results are to be reliable. In this survey the proportional stratified random sampling was adopted, i.e., the total population was divided into groups (socio-income levels) and random samples were taken in each level in its proportion to the total population. Based on the results of the preliminary survey for 99% confidence interval and 10% standard error, held in Al-Ammarah City, the optimum sample size was shown to be 104. An estimate of the total waste generated and physical composition analysis of residential solid waste were carried out at the source of generation, in Al-Ammarah City in Missan Governorate by carrying out a statistically designed sampling survey, Up to 104 units with different socio income level were sampled, yielding an average of 750 kg of waste to be handled in each day for one week. The study showed that Al-Ammarah City have an average generation rate of 0.66 Kg per capita per day, having 44% food waste, 4.9% paper, 4% metal, 4.2 % glass, 1.13% rubber, and textile 4%, 0.6% combustible miscellaneous materials, and 32.3% noncombustible miscellaneous materials.
