The Role of Financial Analysis in Evaluating the Financial Performance of Saudi Food CompaniesApplied to Almarai and Nadec during the period 2022-2024

Abstract

Abstract This study examines the role of financial analysis in evaluating the performance of Saudi food companies, focusing on Almarai and Nadec during the period 2022–2024. The research problem centered on how effectively financial analysis is recognized as a tool for performance evaluation and what areas it covers, as well as the steps required after completing the analysis. The study aimed to clarify the concept, importance, and types of financial analysis, along with performance evaluation methods. It also assessed the financial performance of both companies in terms of liquidity, profitability, activity, and indebtedness. The findings showed that Almarai outperformed in sales profitability in 2022 and 2023, while Nadec achieved a remarkable improvement in 2024. Results also indicated that Nadec was better in asset investment returns in 2022 and 2023, whereas Almarai led in 2024. The study recommends that both companies maintain their strong return-on-investment levels achieved during the study period, as they reflect high operational and financial efficiency

الملخص هذه الدراسة تبحث في دور التحليل المالي في تقييم أداء الشركات الغذائية السعودية، من خلال تطبيقه على شركتي المراعي ونادك خلال الأعوام 2022–2024. ركزت المشكلة البحثية على مدى فعالية التحليل المالي كأداة لتقييم الأداء، والجوانب التي يغطيها، والخطوات اللاحقة بعد إتمام التحليل. هدفت الدراسة إلى توضيح مفهوم التحليل المالي وأهميته وأنواعه، إضافة إلى بيان أساليب تقييم الأداء، ثم تحليل الوضع المالي للشركتين من حيث السيولة والربحية والنشاط والملاءة. أظهرت النتائج أن المراعي تفوقت في ربحية المبيعات عامي 2022 و2023، بينما حققت نادك قفزة كبيرة عام 2024 بنسبة 24%. كما بينت النتائج أن نادك كانت الأفضل في استثمار الأصول عامي 2022 و2023، في حين تفوقت المراعي عام 2024. وأوصت الدراسة بضرورة حفاظ الشركتين على مستويات العائد على الاستثمار المرتفعة التي تحققت خلال فترة الدراسة، لما تعكسه من كفاءة تشغيلية وإدارية قوية .

Abstract

Abstract This study analyzes the impact of economic policies on political security and internal stability in Iraq during the period 2003–2023, considering the economic and political challenges faced after 2003. The research assumes that economic policies play a key role in shaping political and social stability, especially in rentier economies dependent on natural resources. The study adopts a descriptive analytical approach by examining several economic and social indicators, including public expenditure, unemployment, poverty, and political stability indicators issued by international institutions. The findings show that continued dependence on the rentier economic structure, high unemployment and poverty rates, and weak management of public resources significantly affect political and social stability in Iraq. The study concludes that improving economic policies, strengthening transparency and governance, and promoting private sector development are essential to enhance social security, political stability, and sustainable development.

الملخص يهدف البحث إلى تحليل أثر السياسات الاقتصادية في الأمن السياسي والاستقرار الداخلي في العراق خلال المدة (2003–2023) في ظل التحديات الاقتصادية والسياسية بعد عام 2003. ينطلق البحث من فرضية أن السياسات الاقتصادية تعد عاملاً رئيساً في تحقيق الاستقرار السياسي والاجتماعي، خصوصاً في الاقتصادات الريعية المعتمدة على الموارد الطبيعية. اعتمدت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي من خلال تحليل عدد من المؤشرات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية مثل الإنفاق العام والبطالة والفقر ومؤشرات الاستقرار السياسي. وتبين النتائج أن استمرار الاعتماد على الاقتصاد الريعي وارتفاع معدلات البطالة والفقر وضعف إدارة الموارد العامة تؤثر بشكل مباشر في مستوى الاستقرار السياسي والاجتماعي في العراق. كما خلص البحث إلى أن تحسين السياسات الاقتصادية وتعزيز الشفافية والحوكمة وتطوير القطاع الخاص تمثل متطلبات أساسية لتحقيق الاستقرار السياسي والتنمية المستدامة.

Abstract Iraq’s prolonged economic underperformance since 2010 reflects a structural configuration rather than a cyclical deviation: oil-revenue dependence has deepened rather than diminished, corruption has become entrenched within resource-allocation mechanisms, and the productive base has failed to diversify despite successive growth episodes. This paper models the three dimensions as an interlocking system and estimates their joint effect on real output using a combined ARDL–VAR econometric strategy, which captures both equilibrium relationships and dynamic shock transmission. The empirical analysis covers sixty quarterly observations through 2024 and is organised around three objectives: mapping the theoretical architecture of the failure triad; estimating its quantitative footprint on growth; and simulating the output trajectory under alternative reform scenarios.

Abstract

Abstract The study aims to measure and analyze the impact of revenue power on operational performance. The study relied on the three components of revenue power, namely profit margin, asset turnover, and equity multiplier within the independent variable (DuPont equation components), and on the ratio of earnings before interest and taxes to total assets as a proxy for the dependent variable, operational performance. This was done for a sample of corporation listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange for the period (2009-2019) using the specialized statistical software 13Eviews.v. In order to achieve the study's objective, the main hypothesis was adopted, stating that (there is a statistically significant impact relationship between revenue power and operational performance). The study reached several conclusions, most notably that revenue power has a statistically significant impact on the operating performance index (EBITDA as a percentage of total assets). Furthermore, there is a noticeable variation in the impact depending on the component. The most important recommendation of the study is that stakeholders should consider the components of revenue power when studying operational performance efficiency.

المستخلص تهدف الدراسة إلى قياس وتحليل أثر القوة الإٍيرادية في الأداء التشغيلي، وقد اعتمدت الدراسة على مكونات القوة الإٍيرادية الثلاثة، وهي كل من هامشً الربح ودوران الموجودات ومضاعف حق الملكية ضمن المتغير المستقل (مكونات معادلة DuPont)، وعلى نسبة الأرباح قبل الفوائد والضرائب إلى إٍجمالي الموجودات كبروكسي للمتغير التابع للأداء التشغيلي. لعينة من الشركات المدرجة في سوق العراق للأوراق المالية للمدة (2009-2019)، وباستخدام البرامج الإٍحصائي المتخصص 13EViews.v ، ولأجل تحقيق هدف الدراسة فقد تم اعتماد فرضية رئيسة تنص على أن ( هنالك علاقة أثر ذات دلالة معنوية للقوة الإٍيرادية في الٍأداء التشغيلي)، وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى عده استنتاجات، اهمها تؤثر القوة الإٍيرادية تأثيراً ذو دلالة إٍحصائية بمؤشر الأداء التشغيلي (الأرباح قبل الفوائد والضرائب إلى مجموع الموجودات)، كما أن هنالك تباين ملحوظ في القوة التأثيرية تبعاً للمكون ، أما أهم التوصيات التي خرجت بها الدراسة فهي على المهتمين اٍلأخذ بنظر الاعتبار مكونات القوة الإٍيرادية عند دراسة كفاءة الأداء التشغيلي.

Abstract.Electricity is an important element in the basic infrastructure and the advancement of the Saudi economy. Consequently, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has witnessed a great and rapid development in the use of electricity in various fields. The Kingdom has witnessed a great disparity in the use of electricity, with the residential sector ranking first, followed by the industrial sector, and finally the agricultural sector. This confirms the great concern of the state to provide economic well-being for the Saudi citizen. The researchers also addressed the most important challenges facing the use of electricity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The research also addressed the most important developments that the Kingdom seeks to achieve to increase electricity production during the period of the study. The researchers reached the most important conclusion, which is the necessity of transitioning from energy from traditional sources to energy from renewable sources.

Abstract:
The study aimed to examine the impact of leadership performance, across its key dimensions, on job creativity and intrinsic motivation among employees in oil companies. A descriptive–analytical approach was adopted, using primary data collected through a questionnaire based on relevant literature. The data were analyzed using SPSS (version 20), applying multiple regression and t-tests at a 0.05 significance level. The findings revealed a significant positive effect of leadership performance on creative motivation, with change management, problem-solving, and effective decision-making showing the strongest influence, while individual motivation had the weakest effect.

هدفت الدراسة إلى تحليل أثر الأداء القيادي بأبعاده المختلفة على الإبداع الوظيفي والدوافع الداخلية لدى العاملين في شركات النفط. واعتمدت المنهج الوصفي-التحليلي، مستندةً إلى بيانات ميدانية جُمعت عبر استبانة أُعدّت بالاعتماد على الأدبيات والدراسات السابقة. جرى تحليل البيانات باستخدام برنامج SPSS (الإصدار 20) من خلال الانحدار المتعدد واختبار (t) عند مستوى دلالة (0.05). وأظهرت النتائج وجود تأثير إيجابي واضح للأداء القيادي في تعزيز الدوافع الإبداعية، مع بروز إدارة التغيير وحل المشكلات واتخاذ القرار الفعّال كأكثر الأبعاد تأثيرًا، مقابل تأثير أقل للتحفيز الفرد

Tourism activity in Iraq has the potential to contribute to national economic development; however, its actual impact has remained unstable due to political challenges, weak infrastructure, and limited investment. This study aims to measure the effect of tourism activity on economic development indicators in Iraq for the period (2015–2023), by analyzing tourism supply and demand patterns, revenue trends, investment flows, and employment levels. A descriptive–analytical approach is adopted through examining and comparing official datasets to understand the nature and strength of the relationship between tourism performance and macroeconomic indicators. The findings indicate a positive but inconsistent relationship, suggesting that the developmental impact of tourism depends largely on improving infrastructure, enhancing service quality, and supporting investment. The study concludes that expanding tourism investments and strengthening institutional performance can increase the sector’s contribution to economic development in Iraq

.يشكّل النشاط السياحي في العراق أحد القطاعات القادرة على إحداث تحول في بنية الاقتصاد الوطني ، إلا أنّ انعكاسه خلال السنوات الأخيرة ظلّ محدوداً وغير مستقر بفعل التحديات السياسية ، وضعف البنى التحتية، وتراجع الاستثمارات السياحية. ويهدف هذا البحث إلى قياس أثر النشاط السياحي على مؤشرات التنمية الاقتصادية في العراق خلال المدة (2015-2022)، بالاعتماد على تحليل اتجاهات العرض والطلب السياحي، وتطور الإيرادات، وحجم الاستثمار، ومستويات التشغيل. اعتمدت الدراسة منهجاً تحليلياً يقوم على استقراء البيانات الرسمية ومقارنتها للكشف عن طبيعة العلاقة بين النشاط السياحي والمتغيرات الاقتصادية الكلية. وتبين النتائج وجود علاقة إيجابية لكنها غير مستقرة، مما يجعل الدور الاقتصادي للسياحة مرتبطاً بقدرة الدولة على دعم الاستثمار , وتطوير الخدمات , وتعزيز الاستقرار. وتخلص الدراسة إلى أن تحسين البنى التحتية وتوسيع الاستثمارات السياحية يمكن أن يسهم في رفع الأثر التنموي للنشاط السياحي في العراق .

Abstract development of management accounting systems, through a comparative analytical study between traditional and modern systems. The research is based on a systematic review of the scientific literature published in refereed global databases during the period 2020-2025. The research found that digital transformation has contributed to the transformation of the role of the management accountant from a historical reporter to a strategic advisor and decision-making partner, with the emergence of four major technology groups influencing this transformation: artificial intelligence and blockchain technology, information technology and cloud computing, big data, and business intelligence. The research also identified key challenges, most notably the gap in digital skills and the lack of integration between modern and traditional systems, especially in small and medium enterprises. The research provides practical recommendations for academics, practitioners, and policymakers to advance the path of digital transformation in management accountin.

Abstract This research aims to demonstrate the importance of digital technology in achieving organizational efficiency at the Anbar Health Directorate – Heet General Hospital. This is achieved by testing several hypotheses related to the correlation and influence relationships between the main research variables. The research employed a descriptive-analytical approach to data analysis. A questionnaire was used as the primary tool for data collection and analysis. The sample size was (157) individuals, from which a purposive random sample of (45) was selected. The data was analyzed using the (SPSS) statistical package. Statistical methods employed included correlation coefficient, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and simple and multiple regression. The research concluded that digital technology plays a significant role in achieving organizational efficiency. The research also offers several recommendations, most notably the necessity of integrating digital technology into organizational goals, developing the digital skills of employees, and supporting digital innovation to ensure continued effectiveness and achieve smart transformation within institutions.

الملخص يهدف البحث إلى بيان أهمية دور التكنولوجيا الرقمية في تحقيق الكفاءة التنظيمية في دائرة صحة الانبار – مستشفى هيت العام، وذلك من خلال اختبار عدد من الفرضيات المتعلقة بعلاقات الارتباط وعلاقات التأثير بين المتغيرات الرئيسة للبحث، وقد اعتمد البحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي في تحليل البيانات، تم الاعتماد على الاستبيان كأداة رئيسية لجمع البيانات والمعلومات وتحليلها اذ بلغت حجم العينة (157) وتم اختيار عينة عشوائية قصدية بلغت (45) فرداً، إذ تم الاعتماد على تحليل الجانب الميداني للبحث من خلال الحزمة الاحصائية (SPSS) لتحليل البيانات، وتم استخدام الوسائل الاحصائية المتمثلة بمعامل الارتباط والوسط الحسابي والانحراف المعياري والانحدار البسيط والمتعدد، وتوصل البحث الى مجموعة من الاستنتاجات منها هناك دور كبير للتكنولوجيا الرقمية في تحقيق الكفاءة التنظيمية. وقد قدم البحث مجموعة من التوصيات أهمها ضرورة دمج التكنولوجيا الرقمية في الاهداف المخطط لها من قبل المنظمات، وتطوير المهارات الرقمية عند العاملين في المنظمة، ودعم علوم الابداع الرقمي من اجل ديمومة الفاعلية وتحقيق التحول الذكي داخل المؤسسات. بضرورة الاهتمام بالتأهيل العلمي والمهني للعاملين بإدارة المراجعة الداخلية.

Abstract

Abstract .This study examines the role of digital transformation in improving financial management efficiency at the Oil Products Distribution Company – Southern Branch. Using a descriptive-analytical approach and a questionnaire distributed to 36 employees, the study analyzes digital infrastructure, digital human resources, and digital organizational culture. The results show an acceptable level of digital transformation and a significant positive impact on financial management efficiency. The study concludes that digital transformation is a key tool for enhancing financial performance and supports further investment in digital systems and skills development.

Abstract

الملخص هدفت الدراسة إلى تحليل دور التحول الرقمي في تعزيز كفاءة الإدارة المالية في شركة توزيع المنتجات النفطية – الفرع الجنوبي، من خلال أبعاده المتمثلة بالبنية التحتية الرقمية، والموارد البشرية الرقمية، والثقافة التنظيمية. اعتمدت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي-التحليلي باستخدام استبانة وزعت على عينة من 36 موظفًا. أظهرت النتائج توفر مستوى مقبول من التحول الرقمي وكفاءة جيدة للإدارة المالية، كما بيّنت وجود علاقة ارتباط وتأثير إيجابي معنوي للتحول الرقمي في تحسين كفاءة الإدارة المالية. وخلصت الدراسة إلى أن التحول الرقمي يعد أداة استراتيجية فعالة لتحسين الأداء المالي وترشيد الموارد ودعم اتخاذ القرار، مع التوصية بتعزيز الاستثمار في البنية التحتية وتنمية المهارات الرقمية.المراجعة الداخلية.
