Physiological Study of the Gonadotropic Hormones Role on The Male Infertility in Thi-Qar Province

Abstract

This study was designed to Identify the role of hormones profile such as Gonadotropic hormonesofmale infertile in Thi-Qar Province through the assessing of gonadotropic hormones which is responsiblefor infertility occurring. A 200 blood serum samples were collected from the patients at the Infertility Unitwho directly deal with infertility and other 100 blood serum samples collected too from healthy people.The hormones were Evaluated from the two serum sets and tested hormones by technology of using asandwich immunodetection method. Results noticed that the highest percentage (11%) of serum hormoneslow levels of Gonadotropic hormones (Test., LH. &FSH.) for Oligozoospermia and Azoospermia equality,therefore it was observed significant difference between hormones levels of infertile groups compared withcontrol at (p≤0.05).

Abstract

This study was conducted in infertility units at Al Hussein Educational Hospital for the period from1-9 - 2017 to 1-3-2018, Fifty satisfactory cases of women with PCOS were monitored and compared to agroup Control, which included 40 healthy women. The study examined the changes in some biochemicalproperties and their relationship with the blood components in women with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS). They included measuring the concentrations of hormones in the serum of women with thesyndrome and comparing them with non-infected women such as LH and follicle stimulating hormone(FSH), As well as to identify the proportion of LH hormone to FSH. The results of the statistical analysisshowed a high significant increase in women with the syndrome in concentration of the Luteinize hormone(LH) and LH to FSH ratio, (p <0.05) the arithmetic average of each is (6.49 ± 3.32, 1.52 ± 0. 61 mIU/ml)Respectively, While the average value was in the control group (3.09 ±0. 94, 0.57 ± 0.189 mIU/ml)Consecutively. While no statistically significant difference was observed for the follicle stimulatinghormone (FSH) between the two study groups.

Abstract

The satellite image classification system intends to differentiate between the objects being present in theimage. It is highly challenging because the coverage area of the satellite is large such that the objects appear so small.This makes the process of object differentiation complex. Additionally, the classification accuracy is an importantfactor, which the classification system must pass through. This work presents a satellite image classification systemwhich can classify between the vegetation, soil and water bodies, etc. Current research work is in the developmentof a hybrid classification technique for satellite images. High-resolution satellite images that we deal with usingSVM and low accuracy through the use of k-means. It is necessary to provide accuracy and speed of satellite imagesand obtain this through the modulation method suggested through the integration of these technicians, wheretechnology can classify all satellite images .We note that the proposed system is able to classify any satellite imageby highlighting each region and what indicates that area and what percentage when applying the proposed system ofclassification whether the satellite images are based on high accuracy or low accuracy, where the system also showsthe time taken to classify each satellite image. We note that the time does not exceed 30 seconds for the number ofimages used within our database

Abstract

The current study was designed to determine the effect of sertraline and fluoxetine drugs on somebiochemicals and histologicals change of male and female rats. The animals were divided into five groups(each group consisting of 5 males and 5 females), the first group (control) was injected with thephysiological solution Nacl 0.9%, second group was injected with10 mg / kg of Sertraline, third group wasinjected with 20 mg / kg of sertraline, fourth group was injected with 5 mg / kg of fluoxetine and fifth groupwas injected with10 mg / kg fluoxetine. The results showed that a significant increase (P≤0.05) in theconcentration of urea and creatinine (except for the second group of females) in all treated group comparedwith control. In the liver enzymes, the results showed that a significant decrease in the concentrations ofaspartate transaminase enzyme, Alanine transaminase and alkaline phosphatase in all treated groupscompared with the control group(P≤0.05). The kidney tissue showed histological changes such asinfiltration of inflammatory cell, congestion, hemorrhage, renal glomerular distraction and loss, renaltubular hypertrophy.

Assessment of Water quality for Euphrates River in AL-Nasiriyah City by Using Organic Pollution Index

Abstract

The present study was conducted to demonstrate the effect of organic matter on characteristics ofthe Euphrates river at the center of Al-Nasiriyah city and its feasibility for domestic, industrial andagricultural uses. [This index is an efficient and successful method for descriptive and quantitativeassessment of organic pollution in different aquatic systems]. Four stations were selected, the first stationnear Al-Sharif, the second station near the thermal of electric power, the third station near the ZaytoonBridge at the city center and the fourth station near the waste water treatment station, the samples werecollected from water monthly starting October 2017 Until September 2018. Some physical and chemicalproperties were measured: Biological oxygen demand (BOD5), Nitrate (NO3), phosphate (PO4),Ammonium (NH4). The results of variables of water in the studied stations showed that the values ofBiological Oxygen Demand ranged between (1.3-24.6) mg/L, nitrates between (9.24-61.98) mg /L,phosphate recorded values ranged between (0.10 – 1.30) mg /L, and ammonium (0.10 – 1.4) mg /L.

Comparison of The Very Low Frequency Signal Amplitude in The ISIO and The French Station for The Same Solar Events

Abstract

There are heterogeneity and increase in the percentage of ionization with solar explosions, wherethe so-called sudden ion disturbance (SID), Which can be measured by the so-called very low frequencies(VLF), where used in this study to calculate the extent change of the signals amplitude between the receiverbuilt in our station (ISIO) and the transmitters from different regions of the world comparing that withanother receiver 4000 kilometers north, when location at southern France (A11٣), which receives thesignals from the same transmitters, which we received the same signals and the timing of each solar event.Five events received by our station from the period (2017-6-3) to the period (2017-9-10).These events are compared with a set of events that recorded at different periods .The results showed thatthe signals amplitude in all events is much higher than the signal amplitude received from the Frenchstation. This variation in amplitude is due to the heterogeneity of the receiving location at our station, whichalso means that the ionosphere at the top of this region, which is considered to be part of the subtropicalregions, is different from those near the polar gap.

Abstract

The Water Quality Index was developed mathematically to evaluate the water quality of Al-GharrafRiver The Qar , the main branch of the Tigris River in the south of Iraq. Water samples were collectedtwice monthly from tow stations during 2017, and 10 parameters analyzed: Total dissolved solids(TDS),the concentration of hydrogen ions(PH), dissolved oxygen(DO), turbidity(TUR), phosphates (SO4), nitrates(NO3), chlorides (Cl), total hardness, electrical conductivity(EC) and alkalinity (ALK). The index classifiedthe river water , excluding turbidity, is poor for drinking at both stations, when turbidity was included, theindex classified the river water is very poor in station GT2 and poor in station GT3 for drinking purpos.The results showed thae seasonal variations are negligible in both stations .The study highlights theimportance of applying the water quality index which indicate the total effect of the ecological factors onsurface water quality and which give a simple interpretation of the monitoring data to help local peopleimproving water quality improving .

Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the biological and chemical effectiveness of some medicinalplants using different methods. Five species of medicinal plants(Origanum majorana, Lawsonia inermis,Salvia officinolis, Conocarpus erectuus and Zizphus spina-christi)were used as antimicrobial for threetypes of bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus mirabilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) andantioxidants agents. The study included the use of four organic solvents (ethanol, methanol, acetone) andwater for the purpose of determining the efficiency of each solvent in the separation of active compounds.Secondary metabolism compounds, were detected by qualitative detection. Antioxidants were tested by the2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) test and total phenolic content(TPC) was calculated. Abstract

Benzene is a highly toxic chemical agent, therefore, the present study was carried out to investigatethe protective effects of cephalopoda extract (Sepia sp.) against benzene toxicity in male white albino rats.Twenty four white male rats were used, these animals were divided into four groups, each group containsix animals as a following: the first group (control group) treated orally with normal saline (1 ml/ kg-1) fortwo weeks, the second group (benzene group) injected I.P. with benzene 0.5 ml/kg at first day of each weekfor two week the third group treated intraperitoneally (I.P.) with Sepia sp. extract (720 μg/ rat) for twoweek, , and the fourth group (benzene + extract) injected I.P. with benzene 0.5 ml/kg at first day of eachweek for two week, then injected I.P. with extract 720 μg/animals for two weeks. The result indicated nonsignificantincrease in the level of the AST, and a significant increase in levels of ALT, cholesterol,triglyceride, LDL, VLDL of male rats treated with benzene compared with control group. Also, there wasa significant decreased in HDL in the second group compared with the control group. Protective activity ofSepia sp. extract against toxicity of benzene observed in decreasing of ALT, AST, cholesterol andtriglyceride, LDL and VLDL levels, and increased in the HDL level.

Abstract

The present study was conducted to assess the organic pollution and microbial contamination inthe Euphrates River sediments in AL-Nasiriya city, southern Iraq, four station were selected in the 6 kmlong study area for the period from autumn 2017 until summer 2018. sediments samples were collectedduring these period. The first station was 1 km ahead of the power plant. The second station is located atthe power station. the third was located at the wastewater treatment plant.it is about 4km away from thesecond station ,the fourth station was located at the third station by 1km for from third station. The studyincluded the measurement of some physical and chemical characteristics of the river water. It also includedmeasuring the concentration of some trace elements (cadmium, copper, lead and zinc) in sediments. Thetotal organic carbon was also analyzed. And expressed as pecentage coliform and Fecal Coliform(Escherichia coli) as evidence of fecal contamination and total number of air bacteria were estimated.

Abstract

Toxoplasma gondii is the causal agent of Toxoplasmosis which infects a large proportion of the world’spopulation, but clinically uncommonly causes significant disease. The present study was performed toestimate the relationship between toxoplasmosis and some sex hormones (testosterone hormone , folliclestimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone ) and also to estimate the prevalence of toxoplasmosisin infertility men. 280 samples of both infertile patients(180) and controls(100) had been tested by ELISAtechnique to detect anti-Toxoplasma Abs (IgG and IgM).The levels of sex hormones were also tested inmen sera by ELISA test. The results of the present study in both infertile patients and healthy controlsshowed presence of anti-Toxoplasma IgG Abs in 40 out of 180 (22.23%) and 16 out of 100 (16%)respectively. While the result of ELISA- IgM test was (0 %) in both subjects .The results of sex hormonesappeared the level of testosterone hormone was lowest in infertile patients infected with toxoplasmosiscompared to higher level of hormone in non infected infertile patients and control groups.

Abstract

Clouds are collections of tiny particles of water and/or ice that are large enough to be visible. Thetwo required ingredients for the formation of cloud are water vapor and aerosols. The spontaneous growthof Cloud Condensation Nuclei (CCN) into cloud droplets under supersaturated water vapor conditionsis described by classic Köhler theory. The aim of this work is to model Köhler theory and investigateeffects of mass, solubility, and composition of the CCN in the formation and growth of cloud droplets.Sodium Chloride (NaCl) and Ammonium Sulfate ((NH4)2SO4) were used as a solute material. The resultsshowed that both mass and solute material affect the nucleation of cloud droplet. Increasing mass of solutewould increase the critical radius and decrease the supersaturation required for activating the droplet. Itwas found that the use of NaCl produce critical radius larger than that of (NH4)2SO4 and the requiredsupersaturation for NaCl solute is lower than that of (NH4)2SO4 solute. This is due the fact that NaCl haslower molecular weight than (NH4)2SO4. The results also indicate that cloud temperature has minor effecton the cloud droplet activation. The model can be used to investigate more suitable solute materials todetermine which is best for cloud seeding projects.

Abstract

Ninety six aquatic birds were collected and examined for infection with Contracaecum spp.nematodes in Al-Sanaf marsh, which is located in Thi-Qar province / Southern Iraq, between March toDecember 2018, The nematodes are fixed in hot 70% ethanol, the lactophenol and glycerine used to clearthe internal features and examined by light microscope. Some samples examined by scanning electronmicroscope (SEM) a Leo1450vp and the images were captured digitally. The current study showed that 48out of 96 (50%) aquatic birds were infected with Contracaecum nematodes, Contracaecum microcephalumisolated from four aquatic bird species: Nycticorax nycticorax, Egretta garzetta, Ardae purpurea andPelecanus onocrolalus, while Contracaecum multipapilatum isolated from two aquatic bird species E.garzetta and Ardeola ralloides, Contracaecum rudolphii isolated from Phalacrocroax carbo only.

We were obtain with thedata from the fast weather station responding to the building of the Department of Atmospheric SciencesUniversity of Mustansiriya at 19 m high and the second station slow response data to determine the type ofstability by knowing the length of Monin-Obukh and calculate the wind speed and rates for eight directions.Direction of speed Wind for the year 2016 depend on the available data in the days of awakening, measuredthe distance in the study area affected by roughness in order to know the lowest height of wind energy inthe university and then calculated the wind power density at high altitudes that we found it .The measuredof scale and shape parameters were also found according to Weibble distribution and the wind powerdensity was compared in the normal way using Weibull distribution.

Abstract

The sub-lethal effects of lead on the liver enzyme (AST,ALT,ALP) and serum lipid profileparameters in the female rats, and the curative capacity of ginger(Zingiber officinale) were investigated .Twenty four adult female rats were divided into four equal groups. Group 1 as the control, the animalsreceived the vehicle of distilled water (D.W.). Group 2 received lead acetate (I.P) (10mg/ kg b.w.). Group3, animals drenched orally (100mg/ kg b.w.) of ginger. Group 4 has been taken (I.P) (10mg/ kg b.w.) oflead acetate in combination with ginger orally/day (100mg/kg b.w.). Weights of all animals at the first andthe end of experiment were determined. Rats from all groups were sacrificed at the end of experiment (2weeks). The study were showed that the weight of the animals was significantly decreased (p<0.05) in leadacetate group in comparison to other groups. The results were appeared that lead acetate induced toxicitya significant rise in Triglycerides level, and asignificant lower in glucose level. While did not significantchanges in (AST, ALT, ALP and Cholestrol) in spite of there is different in thear means in comparison tocontrol group.

The present study was designed to compare some of hematological parameters in female norwegianrats (Ratus norvigicus) after administration of extracted octacosanol and atorvastatin. Thirty-two femalesrat with (10-12) weeks old-and weighting (200-250 gm) were used in the current study. Policosanol wasextracted from sugarcane that obtained from Mesan province. Octacosanol is determined in this extractionby gas chromatography – mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Animals were divided into 4 equal groups: Group.1(n=8) (Control): only 0.٥ ml/ kg of Dimethyl Sulphoxide (DMSO). Group.2 (n=8) animals treated with(0.02 mg/ kg) of standard octacosanol. Group.3 (n=8) animals treated with (0.02mg/ kg) of octacocosanolextraction, Group. 4 (n=8) treated with only (0.02mg/ kg) of atorvastatine. The treatment continued for 30days. All animals were then sacrificed and blood samples were collected in EDTA tubes for measuring oftotal and different count of WBC.

Abstract

New isoxazolidines were synthesized in a good to an excellent yields by 1,3-dipolar cycloadditionof N-phenylmaleimide dipolarphile and nitrones. The structures of the synthesized compounds wereconfirmed by elemental analysis (C. H. N.), IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The compounds were screenedfor their in-vitro antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Esherichia coli and for theirantifungal activity, Aspergillus niger Aspergillus flavus. The zone of inhibition was determined by discdiffusion technique. All the synthesized compounds exhibited promising antimicrobial activity against thestudied set of microorganisms compared with standard drugs used in this study.

Abstract

Nonlinear properties of 5W20 oil have been investigated using the diffraction ring pattern and Z-scantechniques. The nonlinear refractive index was measured by the use of a solid state laser in the CW regimeat wavelength 473 nm. Experimental results show that such a sample has a large, negative, nonlinearrefractive index (n2 = 4.22 x 10-7 cm2/W). The optical power limiting performances for 5W20 oil have beeninvestigated. These results proved that 5W20 oil has significant nonlinear properties and it could be usedfor photonic and nonlinear optical devices.

Abstract

In this study, 125 cases of urinary tract infection were collected from patients of both sexes at AlHussein Educational Hospital and Diabetes and Endocrinology Specialist Center in Dhi Qar Governoratefor the period from October 2017 to March 2018. After isolation and diagnosis, 105 isolates were obtainedand the number of P. aeruginosa was 75 (71.42%). The isolates were tested to 5 types of antibiotics and13 isolates for 16S rRNA detection tests. The isolates showed high resistance to antibiotics, Gentamycin,Tetracycline and Vanomycin, where the resistance was 100% while the resistance was low for Tobramycin33.3% and was very sensitive to the antibiotic Imipenem, where the sensitivity was (86.6 %). The resultsof 16S rRNA polymerase chain reaction products, was show diagnostic gene within the expected size ofthe 1500 bp, some isolates were recorded as new strains in the NCBI database.

Abstract

The atmosphere aerosols play an important role in the physical processes occur in the atmosphere.Such as absorption and scattering of solar radiation and formation of cloud and precipitation. Consequently,aerosols affect the radiation balance and water balance of atmosphere. Therefore, the study of opticalproperties of aerosol is very important in many applications such as modeling of solar radiation, cloudmodeling and climate modeling. The aim of this research is to investigate the aerosols optical propertiesusing the Optical Properties Aerosol and Cloud (OPAC) software package. Three types of aerosols wereconsidered, namely continental, desert, and urban aerosols. The results indicated that the optical propertiesof aerosols (extinction, scattering, absorption coefficients; single scattering albedo; asymmetric parameter,and optical depth) in general decreases with increasing wavelengths but they decrease sharply at shorterwavelength and gradually at longer wavelengths. In addition, the effect of atmospheric windows is evidentin the 5-10 μm range of the spectrum. The results also suggested that desert aerosols are the most effectivetype followed by urban and continental polluted aerosols. Change in relative humidity can affect theoptical properties of the continental and urban aerosols while the desert aerosols are almost unaffected bythe change of relative humidity.

Abstract

This search deal with the effect of worldwide global warming on surface air temperature, relativityhumidity and rainfall for selected stations in Iraq. Monthly surface air temperature, relativity humidity andrainfall were analysed to get temporal trends variation with the period (1984-1999) by using Mann-Kendalltest to detect the significant trend. The test showed that surface air temperature and relativity humidity hada positive trend at all station with a highest value in Basrah station (0.085) and (0.344) respectively, whilethe test for rainfall showed a negative trend at all stations with a highest decreasing value (-1.606) in Basrahstation too.

Abstract

Linear and nonlinear optical properties of Polyvinyl Alcohol thin film doped with cadmiumtelluride nanoparticles have been investigated experimentally. CdTe nanoparticles were produced indistilled water by pulsed laser ablation method under Nd-YAG laser at (100 mJ, 1064nm, 10ns, 6Hz, and100 laser shots). AFM images were used to study the nanoparticles after ablation. XRD pattern and UV–Vis spectroscopy data were used to extract the structure and optical properties of films. Z-scan techniquewas employed to characterize of nonlinear optical properties of the films. The results of close-aperture zscandata suggested that PVA/CdTe nanocomposite film included a nonlinear refractive index with anegative sign, meaning the occur of self-defocusing phenomenon. While, open-aperture z-scan data clearlysuggested two-photon absorption as the dominant nonlinear absorption mechanism. The nonlinear propertyof PVA film was found increasing and strongly after added nanoparticles in them.

Abstract

The present study was conducted at the Center of an inherited blood disorder in Dhi-Qar Province, during the period from October 2018 to January 2019. The aim of this study was to evaluate the immune status of patients with beta-thalassemia by measuring )IgM, IgG, IgA, C3 and C4( complement by used single radial immune diffusion (SRID. The study included a total of 150 patients with beta-thalassemia and included (66 males) and (84 females) and their age from (2 to 33 years). The patients divided into three age groups. The second age group( 11-20 ) years the most dominant. All patients over 20 years have been exposed to spleen removal operations. When compared with similar age groups of control groups consisting of 50 healthy persons, there was a significant increase of serum IgM, IgG, and IgA in all age groups of beta-thalassemia patients. The levels of serum IgG, IgM and IgA increased significantly with increased age in patients with beta thalassemia. The levels of C3 and C4 were significantly reduced in serum in all age groups of patients with beta-thalassemia except the first age group for C4 compared to similar age groups of healthy individuals.
