Ecological study was conducted in Tigris River Al Kut city during the period (November 2013- April 2014) to see the volume of pollutants that arise into the river Within months study depending on the abundance and diversity of Chironomid species subfamily Chironominae(Chironomidae: Diptera). Ten species of Chironominae were identified Polypedilum aviceps was the most dominant made up 48.59%, Polypedilum tritum 33.19% , Einfeldia pagana 3.95% , Chironomus riparius 2.39% , Chironomus plumosus 2.39% , Chironomus piger 2.08%, Polypedilum brasenia 1.04% , Einfeldia natchitocheae 1.04% , Cryptochironomus sp. 0.73% and Paralauterborniella sp. 0.73% .Result of this study showed significant correlations between the species and several environmental parameters. Polypedilum tritum , E. natchitocheae, Paralauterborniella sp. this group showed significantly positive correlation ( p< 0.05) with PH, temperature and turbidity and showed significantly negative correlation( p<0.05 and 0.01) with water temperature and TDS.Also environmental parameters (DO, BOD) and the ten species of Chironomid showed significantly positive correlation (p< 0.05, 0.01) among stations study (S1,S2,S3) .

The objective of the study: is to study the effect of hematocrit (PCV) on diastolic and systolic blood pressure and assert the effect of PCV on blood pressure especially on isolated diastolic blood pressure.
Design: cross-sectional study of two groups of patients with isolated diastolic and isolated systolic hypertension and normal healthy controls.
Setting: Al- Karama teaching Hospital Department of medicine in Al- Kut city, Iraq. Patients and Method:-This cross-sectional study included inpatients and outpatients with hypertension from (February 2013 to December 2013) in Al- karama Teaching Hospital Department of medicine. The samples were divided into three groups, group 1 (normal healthy controls), group 2(patients with isolated diastolic hypertension) and group 3(patients with isolated systolic hypertension). The level of PCV was measured in each group.
Results: Patients with isolated diastolic hypertension have positive relation with increased level of PCV, frequency of patients with PCV>51% is 28% (mean 48.04), more than that in individuals with isolated systolic hypertension, frequency of PCV>51% is 16% (mean 45.70), and normal healthy controls frequency of PCV>51%
is 6% (mean PCV 41.34).
Hematocrit level remained as statistical significance for patients with isolated diastolic hypertension (P<0.0005), and also in patients with isolated systolic hypertension (Mean PCV 45.70) in compare to normal individuals (P<0.0005)
Conclusions: increased level of PCV is a risk factor or marker that affect blood pressure specially patients with isolated diastolic hypertension more than patients with isolated systolic hypertension

The present study was conducted to explore the effect of different concentrations of coconut oil as an antioxidant with rate of (1.5, 2 ,2.5ml/kg) of body weight given orally and measure Hematological parameters (white blood cells,PCV , Hb and platelets) and biochemical parameters (cholesterol and its different kinds (Total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, VLDL), triglycerides) and liver enzymes (Superoxide dismutase , Glutathione) in rabbits that demonstrated sodium nitrate as oxidative material use concentration (75 mg / kg), and compared to all results with control group . The results showed a decrease in triglycerides, LDL , SOD and GSH , increase HDL cholesterol levels and a raise in the number of white blood cells, platelets and Hb level this results belong to increase the number of free radicals as a result of oxidative stress caused by the use of sodium nitrate.

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of hormonal treatment ( GnRH and PGF2α) with and without antibiotics in the treatment of repeat breeders (RB) of Iraqi native river buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) in private dairy farms located in the south of Baghdad for improving the reproductive performance in addition to find the ratio of repeat breeder. The study included (112) Buffalo cows suffering from repeat breeding for more than three unfertile insemination estrus cycles. Buffalo cows were divided into 4 groups according to programs treatment (G1=PGF2α, G2=GnRH , G3= PGF2α+GnRH and G4=PGF2α+Iodine+Oxytetracyclen) respectively.
Results of the study revealed that the using of (GnRH and PGF2α) hormones with and without antibiotic (Oxytetracycline+Iodine) are useful in improving the reproductive performance of Buffalo cows. The pregnancy rate after the application of the proposed treatments , measured after (60-65) days by rectal palpation, in the four groups proposed as follows ( 60.0% , 46.6 % , 71.8 % , 75.0 % ) respectively . The pregnancy rates in groups (G3 and G4) were significantly higher than in (G1and G2) groups (P<0.05) and the treatment with (GnRH+PGF2α) hormones or (PGF2α+Iodine+Oxytetracyclen) was more useful in improving the reproductive performance of these animals, the ratio of repeated breeding in Iraqi native river buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) was about 44.8% (112 out of 250 animal examined in this study). In conclusion, the application of treatments with (GnRH+PGF2α) or (PGF2α+Iodine+Oxytetracyclen) is useful and highly efficient in improving reproductive performance in buffalo cows suffering from repeat breeding.

This is across sectional study carried out to study the behaviors of pregnant women toward minor discomforts of pregnancy. The study sample involved (200) pregnantsattending Al-Diwaniyamaternity and pediatric hospital during the period 1/11/2013_31/12/2013.The data was collected by constracted questionnaire which designed for the purpose of study and analyzed by using frequency distribution and relative percentages. The result of the study revealed that 15% get up from bed suddenly, 50% were drinking small and frequent amount of fluid. In heart burn 90% were avoiding fat meals,70% were eating several small meals in different time,2.5% were putting small pillow under head, in varicose vein 60% were relaxing and rise legs, 25% were wearing medical socks. In case of backache 35% were sleeping on hard bed, , in case of constipation 75% were drinking 1-2 cup of water in morning, 10% were playing exercises, 15% were decreasing tea and coffee, in case of legs edema, 10% were elevating legs up, 80% were going to doctor. The study recommends health education of pregnant about behaviors toward minor discomforts of pregnancy.

This research was conducted in the Lath house of the municipality of Zubaydia District in AL-Suwayra , Wasit governorate from the period 21/3/2010 till 25/10/2010. The goal of the experiment was to determine the effectiveness of magnetic irrigation water in comparison to the normal water, and three concentration of humic acid 1/2 ml/l; 1 ml/l and 2 ml/l in addition to the control treatment and was added four times during the growing season .The ( Bio polar system ) was used with 1000 gauss capacity to magnetize water . The randomized complete book design (R C B D) was used in a factorial arrangement. The least signification difference at 50% level of significant was utilized for mean comparisons, only when treatment effect was evident. Criterion studied include, stem diameter, dry weight of shoot, and leaf size, dry weight of sepals. Active ingredient measured includes β-pinene , α- pinene , citronal , and Hibicine hydrochloride .Results indicated that using magnetic water increased , stem diameter and leaf size , dry weight of vegetative portion ,dry weight of calyx . Magnetic water increased hibicine hydrochloride, citronol, α- pinene and β-pinene. The use of humic acid increased the above mentioned criterion in addition to the weight flowers cup and caused an increase in hibicine hydrochloride and citronol. Results also indicated significant interaction between magnetic water and humic acid and the following characteristic were effected, stem diameter and leaf size as were as vegetative dry weights of calyx, hibicine hydrochloride and citronol.

The aim of this study was to investigate the histopathological effects of prednisolone and vitamin E on the different organs of the different system in the experimental animal.
Materials and methods: histopathological study was carried out in 21 days, using a hematoxylin- eosin method, twenty adult males rabbits were randomly divided into four groups: Grop-1: control group C. (n = 5) received Distilled water 4 ml /kg b.w./day/orally
Group-2: first treated T1. (n=5) with 4mg/kg b.w/day/orally prednisolone.
Group-3: second treated T2.(n=5) with 400 IU/kg b.w/day/orally/ vitamin E.
Group-4: third treated T3. (n=5) with prednisolone and vitamin E orally. At day 22th, the animals were sacrificed and samples from Heart, liver, lung and testis). were obtained for Histopathological study.
Results: the results showed that vitamin E appeared to ameliorate the adverse effects of prednisolone on the histopathological picture of the different organs.
Conclusion: vitamin E is effective in reducing damage in prednisolone – Treated rabbits.

The phenomenon of desertification became a real threat to the environmental, economic and social system in our contemporary world. The need arises to find an active means and technologies to measure and study the phenomenon of desertification on deferent levels. This research has been studied an area northwest Wasit Province/Iraq using remote sensing data for two satellites (LandSat7, LandSat8) at different dates (year2000, year2013). Normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), moving standard deviation index (MSDI) and Albedo have been adopted from satellite images to measure the desertification levels in study area. The result showed high clear of low, high and intense desertification at average of yearly changes (24, 104.52, 138.32 km2/year) respectively, while the vegetation cover and low desertification level have been a decrease (18.87, 246.97 km2/year) respectively. This was due to the climate changes in the world and the human factor which contributed widely in land deterioration and desertification phenomenon in the study area.

This study was carried out to investigate the role of Co enzyme Q10 in ameliorating the deleterious effect of oxidative stress induced by a high dose of Hydrogen peroxide.Twenty four male rats were divided into three equal groups. One served as control and Group1 treated with 0.75% H2O2 in drinking water for one month, and Group2 adminstrated orally Co Q10 with daily dose 1 mg /rat for 30 days. To assess the effect of H2O2 in drinking water with Co Q10 on the lipid profile, ALT, AST and histological changes were recorded. The present study demonstrated a clear alteration in the lipid profile of G2 and significant (P<0.05) decrease in serum TC, TAG, LDL-c and VLDL-c and increase the HDL-c . also the result exhibit significant (P<0.05) reduction in serum ALT and AST concentration in animal treated with Co Q10 comparing with the values in G1.Histological section of liver revealed that H2O2 initiate pathological lesion such aggregation mononeuclear cell, infiltration of inflammatory cell, moderate fatty change and cytoplasmic vaculation ,on the other hand, oral administration of Co Q10 completely regressed these lesion. In conclusion, the result of this study clarified the possibility of induction oxidative stress in rats in 30 days provided by 0.75% H2O2, and ameliorating the oxidative stress effect of H2O2 by administration of Co Q10.

A field experiment was conducted at the Experimental Farm, Department of Field Crops, College of Agriculture, University of Baghdad/Abu-Ghraib during winter season of 2013-2014. The main objective was to find out the effect of potassium levels (0, 41.5 and 83) kg K.ha-1 and foliar application of boron (100 mg.L-1) at different flowering stages (flower buds emergence, 25%, 50% and 75% flowering) in addition to control treatment (water spray only) on faba bean Spanish cultiver. Luz de Otono on setting and pod yield, layout of the experiment was a factorial experiment in randomized complete block design with four replications.
Results showed that there was significant effect of potassium levels and the application of potassium at 83 kg K.ha-1 was superior in No. of racemes.plant-1 (124.7), No. of flowers.plant-1 (357.4), fertility percentage (6.6%), No. of pods per plant (24.3 pod. Plant-1), and green pods yield of plant (117.5 gm.plant-1).
Foliar application of boron at flower buds emergence, flowering 25%, 50% and 75% of plants was superior in in giving least days to 100% flowering (102 day), and highest means for No. of racemes per plant (126.8), No. of flowers per plant (357.5), fertility percentage (6.3%), No. of pods per plant (23.2 pod.plant-1) and green pods yield of plant (118.4 gm. plant-1)

The riverine aggregate have high mass density (2700Kg/m3) and thermal conductivity (2.8W/m.c0) this reflects the properties of the block concrete in order to decrease these properties , the riverine aggregate must be replaced by any materials have low density and thermal conductivity such as : scrap brick , lime stone , or black stone (pumice). In this paper, block concrete samples (solid and hollow), with dimensions of (200x200x200mm) , were constructed mixing ratio of (4:2:1)by mass and water percentage of 0.5 were used . The thermal and constructional behavior of these blacks was investigated at Baghdad climate zone during one year at 21th day of each month for 15 hr/day. The test results showed that, using pumice racks as aggregate reduced the density by about 44% and increased the energy saving by about 34%. However, this enhancing in the properties was accompanied with reduction in the tensile and compression stresses of unloaded walls. Using limestone as aggregate gave 20% reduction in density with 5% increase in the energy saving 60% reduction in density and 40% increase in the energy saving were achieved when using gypsum block with fiber glass layers.

The study was conducted on two group of 300 adults males their aged between 31-41 years, group one (150) are construction worker that require physical activity compared with group two(150) who are office employee where there work does not require physical activity. The study showed that the level of total cholesterol (TC) , low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c),Triglyceride(TG) and body mass index (BMI) is low among persons who work in construction works as comparison with persons who work in office. The study explored that the level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) among people male who work in construction works higher than it is in people who work in offices (p<0.001). From the study, it appears that the response of lipid parameter levels will differ between the construction worker and office employee.

The aim of the present study is to investigate the effects of oral administration with different concentrations of sildenafil citrate (SC) on some of the reproductive parameters as ovulation induction in the female mice. In the experimental work, thirty of healthy female mice at the age (10-12) weeks with weight (23-25) gram were included in this study. They were divided in three groups (10 mature females’ mice/group) including one group as control according to different doses of sildenafil citrate (0.5 mg/kg, 1 mg/kg) throughout administration period for 6 days. Parameters were assessed involving study the histological changes in ovary as, number each of primary follicles, growing follicles, graafian follicles, evaluated using hematoxyline and eosin stains. The results of the present study showed a significant improvement (P<0.05) in the reproductive parameters using both concentrations (0.5 and 1mg/ kg) of the sildenafil citrate when compared with the control group as; number each of primary follicles, growing follicles and grafian follicles.Moreover, high concentration of (1mg/kg), sildenafil citrate showed a significant enhancement in the reproductive parameters which were mentioned previously compare with low dose of sildenafil citrate (0.5mg/kg) and control group .Therefore, it was concluded that the sildenafil citrate supplementation may have important role on the ovulation induction in females mice.

In this paper we get improvement of the chemical properties for Iraqi cement by adding the powder of glass and it became appropriate for several applications like the cementation process for the oil wells. We had a chemical analysis for a sample of Iraqi cement which get from Um Qaser factory (Basrah) and for many samples of the imported cement by the South Oil Company. The powder of glass was mixed with Iraqi cement in ratio (0.02) from the weight of cement, and we had the chemical analysis again. This result was compared with primary result for the Iraqi cement without filler and knowing the change in chemical properties and comparison the new cement with the imported cement to know the similarities between them. We get good results in improvement of chemical properties for the Iraqi cement in many directions and became appropriate for several applications and the property of resistance to sulfates, salt and acids which improved too. In this paper the recycling of glass waste in the environment which study by adding the powder of glass to Iraqi cements.

Laparoscopic splenectomy is rapidly becoming a common treatment modality in the surgical management of hematological processes involving the spleen .Hereditary spherocytosis is the most common red blood cell membrane disorder and its diagnosis is often associated with haemolytic crisis and premature cholelithiasis .our patient 25 year old presented with cholelithiasis ,splenomegaly and anemia and because of persistent anemia and gastrointestinal symptoms the patient underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy and splenectomy in pregnant women (1st trimaster)

In this paper we study the existence of mild solution to the fractional impulsive nonlinear mixedtype integro-differential partial equation with neutral infinite delay and nonlocal conditions in a Banach space. As a prove of this investigation we address some important concepts of work such as fractional calculus, semigroup of operators and Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem.

Fifteen samples of raw milk and yogurt were used to isolate Leuconostoc spp. ,Twenty eight Leuconostoc spp.were isolated. All isolates were tested for biosurfactant production , Producer isolates were then subjected to the biochemical examination and Vitek 2 system for identification to the species . Eleven of biosurfactantproducer isolates were identified from 28 Leuconostoc isolates. They are distributed as Leuconostoc mesenteroide sssp cremoris . Surface activity of Leuconostoc mesenteroides ssp cremor is supernatants were studied .The optimal conditions of biosurfactant production included growing at different temperatures; different pH, different incubation periods, aeration and inoculum ratio were also studied. The results showed that surface activity of supernatant was differed according to isolate, with oil displacement diameter 4-7 mm. Anaerobic and aerobic conditions for 24 hours at30o C and pH 6 and 2% inoculum were fitting to biosurfactant production.

The Bacillus thuringiensis found in all the study zones in Wasit province, but at different rates because difference type the land and climatic situation in each region. The average of bacteria in those areas 30.0،Swairah and Badra recorded higher rates for this bacteria 50% and 40% respectively. The Bacillus thuringiensis in soils Districts Al-ahrar and Al-hai was least 20% and 10% respectively .The study indicated to three of Bacillus thuringiensis dilutions differed in kill the larvae of the worm black biting Agrotis ipsilon laboratory, The B .thuringiensis dilution (57 × 106) Spor / ml killed higher of other dilutions and was 77.5% after 3 days of treatment of killing rate decreased with increasing the length of time .The dilution B .thuringiensis (57 × 106) Spor / ml recorded 30.7% kill rate during the treatment . dilution B .thuringiensis (34 × 105) Spor / ml least in kill of larvae of the worm black biting Agrotis ipsilon laboratory and was 59.2% after 3 days of treatment in the dilution .The kill rate decreased with increasing the time .Recorded general average for ratio killing of the dilution 25.0% during the time of the treatment.

Many procedures have been used for correction of the soft tissues atrophy and facial asymmetry in patient with parry-romberg syndrome, including tissue augmentation with either autologous fat, dermal - fat, regional muscle or fascia flap, cartilage or bone grafting and free flap transfere., or the use of synthetic augments like collagen , hhyaluronic acid , alloderm , silicone or medpore materials. My experience with dermal fat grafting in the correction of deformities associated with parry Romberg syndrome is presented.

One Hundred and Twenty isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were collected from different samples during the period August /2014 to December /2010 .Sensitivity of isolates was tested against colistin , results revealed that 27 isolates(22.5%) were resistance to colistin. The colistin resistant isolates ( and 21 sensitive isolates) were tested against 12 different antibiotics ,the results showed that all isolates were resistance to amoxicillin and carpencillin .Norfloxacin , Levofloxacin and Ciprofloxacin were found to be the most effective agents against the isolates. On the other hand the results showed that all isolates were able to produce hemolysin and biofilm formation. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique was performed using specific primer targeting the specific sequences of the mexY gene, The results showed that mexY gene found in 74% of colistin resistant isolates.

This study was established to investigate the cytogenetic effects of magnevist on mice bone marrow before and after methotrexate (MTX) 2.5 mg/kg. The negative control group was treated with 0.2 ml distilled water. Magnevist was given alone to the mice intraperitoneally with 0.6 mg/kg for 24 hrs and 48 hrs. Similarly, MTX was only intravenously injected with 2.5 mg/kg for 24 hrs and 48 hrs, which were considered as positive controls. Moreover, different combinations of magnevist/ MTX were given in terms of different time points of treatment. Results showed high induction (p<0.05) of chromosomal aberrations (CAs) and micronuclei (MN) and reduction in mitotic index (MI) of following treatments: magnevist, MTX and magnevist/MTX combination, compared to corresponding control groups. Interestingly, the combination magnevist and MTX treatment demonstrated higher induction in all biological end points than other groups. We concluded that the high combination effects may belong to increase in the aggressiveness of MTX that enhanced by magnevist and vice versa.

In order to evaluate the efficacy of crude methanolic and phenolic extracts of Nigella sativa seed in modulating protective role response in mammals under chronic heat stress. Forty nine mature male Wister rats (weighted: 250 ± 10 g, aged: 8 weeks) has been randomly divided into 7 equal groups. Four groups were reared under normal room temperature (20±1ºC) which included negative control (Nc) was reared without any treatment, positive control (C) was drenched with drinking water, treated group (M) was drenched with metanolic extract of N. sativa (1 g/ kg bw), and treated group (P) was drenched with phenolic extract of N. sativa (0.3 g/ kg bw). Other three groups has been reared under high room temperature (35 ± 1 cº) which included heated positive control (Hc) was drenched drinking water, heated treated group (Hm) was drenched with methanolic extract of N. sativa (1 g/ kg bw), and heated treated group (Hp) was drenched with phenolic extract of N. sativa (0.3 g/ kg bw). The experiment extended for 18 days.
Twenty four hours after the last day of experiment, male rats has been sacrificed and body organs testis was removed and weighted .Testis samples (100 mg) were quickly obtained and putted in liquid nitrogen for heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) gene expression analysis using reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Revealed insignificant differences in testes weights among the experimental groups. RT-PCR results showed that level of mRNA expression of HSP70 gene in testis tissues in treatment groups methanolic extract (M, Hm) (1g/ kg, BW, daily) and phenolic compound (P, Hp, 0.3g/ kg, BW, daily) of Nigella sativa seed was significantly higher than that of non-treated groups (Nc, C, and Hc). We have suggested that crude methanolic extract and phenolic compounds obtained from Nigella sativa seed have an efficient role in modulating protective role response of mammals under chronic heat stress in mature male Wistar rats.

Iron(III), Cobalt(II), Cupper(II), Zinc(II) and Mercury(II) complexes have been synthesized by reaction of their chloride salt with a new tetradentate Schiff base ligand type N4: (N1Z,N2Z)-N1-(4-((Z)-4-(dimethylamino)benzylideneamino)-2,3-dimethyl-1-phenyl 1,2dihydropyrazol-5-ylidene)-N2(4((Z)-furan-2-ylmethyleneamino)-2,3-dimethyl-1-phenyl-1,2dihydropyrazol-5-ylidene)ethane1,2–diamine. All the prepared complexes were characterized by the spectroscopic methods (FT.IR, UV-Vis) Atomic Absorption, Magnetic Susceptibility, Melting Point, Elemental Analysis and Molar Conductivity, as well as the H1NMR for the free ligand. According to the resulted data from the above mentioned techniques, the octahedral structure geometry was proposed for Fe(III) complex with the formula [FeLCl2]Cl, and tetrahedral geometry was proposed for the rest with a general formula [ML]Cl2.
