The trematode Plagioporus skrjabin iKowal, 1951 was recorded in this study for the first time in Iraq from intestine of Mystus pelusius (Solander, 1794) which were collected from different locations along Tigris River near Al-Shawwaka region, Baghdad city. The description and measurements of this parasite as well as its illustration were given.

Medicinal plants are used to treat various diseases although little is known about their toxicity. Coriandrum sativum is one of the most commonly plants that is used to treat several physiological disorders. Thus, this study was conducted to evaluate the effect of aqueous extract of C. sativum on the structure and function of liver in male albino mice. Thirty male mice were randomly divided into three groups: Group 1 untreated (control), Group 2 and 3 were administrated orally with the aqueous extract of the plant at dose 125 and 250 mg/kg. b. w. For 30 days. The effect of the extract on liver weights, biochemical parameters as well as histological study were assessed. There were no significant difference (P>0.05) observed in relative organ weights, serum Gpt and Got levels in mice treated with the extract at dose 125 mg/kg. b. w. while the histological section showed moderate degeneration in hepatocytes. However the treatment with 250 mg/kg. b. w. of the extract caused significant reduction (P<0.05) in liver relative weight,highly significant increased (P<0.01) in serum level of GPT and GOT as compared with control. Further histological examination revealed marked degeneration and distortion of hepatocyte, conjestion, inflammatory cells infiltration and cytoplasmic vaculation at dose of 250 mg/kg. b. w. these results suggest that oral administration of C. sativum leaves aqueous extract have a toxic effect on liver at dose 250 mg/kg. b. w.

The morphological and histological aspects of fore brain (Cerebrum) in quail (Coturnix coturnix) have been investigated, results of the present study revealed that the cerebrum in quail is large size triangular shape, its surface contains folds of shallow grooves. Microscopical examination declears that cerebrum consists of two regions, the first represents pallium which includes the external corticoid area which consist of hyperpallium and the dorsolateral corticoid area, it consists of piriform cortex and hippocampal complex. The second region is the internal corticoid areas dorsal ventricular ridge which contains the mesopallium, nidopallium and archopallium. he large size pyramidal neurons appeared in the nidopallium surrounded the crescent shaped lateral ventricles. The subpallium region consists of two regions represented by striatum which contains neuronal fibers and pallium which is appeared small and pale colour and represented the deepest part of cerebrum.

The recent study included leaf epidermis characters of six species belonging to the Asteraceae family, the ordinary epidermal cells and stomatal complexes were studied ,the differences in cells dimensions and outer and inner tangential walls shapes of ordinary cells were noted ,the differences in stomatal complexes dimensions and types are also noted.

The present study aimed to investigate the morphological description and histological structure of thyroid gland in Herpestes javanicus . The results revealed that thyroid gland in adult Herpestes javanicus is located in the neck region just below the larynx and attached to the trachea . Histological study revealed that thyroid gland in H. javanicus surrounded by a capsule of losse connective tissue and the thyroid gland mainly formed from follicles within different sizes. The results showed that the follicle consists of three compenets represented by follicular lining cells, basal parafollicular cells and the colloid. Microscopical examination revealed that the follicular lining tissue is either to be simple squamous or simple cuboidal epithelial tissue . The results also showed that the parafollicular cells (C-cells) are spherical, oval and even polygonal, and are located either interfollicular or intrafollicular.

The present study is the first taxonomic study on scorpions in Iraq. The specimens were collected from regions in the middle and south of Iraq, three families, seven genera and eight species were recorded for the first time in Iraq and one new species of the world.

The cellular and molecular toxicity effect of Aloe Vera crude extract on meristem cells of onion (Allium cepa) roots were studied . Different concentrations of this crude extract 20% ,10% ,5% ,2% ( and 40%) were used at different periods ; 24 ,48 and 72 hour . Number of chromosomal aberrations and the mitotic index was calculated . In addition, the genetic effects were observed by using randomly amplified polymorphic DNA ( RAPD ) technique . The results showed that the gel crud extract of Aloe vera had inhibition effects on the growth of the onion roots with 10% EC50 value. Significant effects of this gel crud extract were also observed on the chromosomal aberration and mitotic index by decreasing of divided cell rates. The toxic effect of 20% concentration of gel crud extract was decreased the mitotic index under 50% , in the comparison with control sample . Chromosomal aberration were also observed in divided cells of onion roots, which exposed to different concentrations at different periods . The higher frequent type of this chromosomal aberrations , which observed are stickiness , disturbed , bridge , c-mitosis , vagrant and star telophase . The result of RAPD technique reveled differences in number of DNA bands and their molecular weights of the treated samples , which exposed to high concentration of crud extract in comparison with the control sample . The result of the genetic stability ratio (% GTS), also showed that Aloe vera crud extract have genetic toxicity at 40% concentration.

During the period from September 2013 till the end of July 2014, a total of 340 birds Passer domesticus were collected . The study revealed in exam the sectional tissue of intestine in infected birds which showed a high effect compared with the uninfected birds . These effects were summarized by the destruction in most of intestinal villi and atrophy of others which appeared as webby filaments with each other and their cells have cubidal form and there were a cystic structure of parasite in the lamina propria . Their cells were compacted forming a high vacuole from the basal membrane surrounding these glands . The lumen of intestine is fuelled by the epithelial cells and Red blood cells . The pathological changes were found to depend on number and size of parasites and present of hooks , Occurrence of the histological changes was therefore often Synchronised with hosts that infective with all species of parasites .

Beta-carotene pigment was extracted from 6 strains collected from different sources related to some species of the genus Rhodotorula sp. The maximum productivity was in the strain Rhodotorula mucilaginosa BA61 with amount 10.25 gm/l. The minimum productivity was from the strain R. minuta BA78 with amount 5.39 gm/l. The effects of the chemical mutagen (MNNG) and the physical mutagen (UVC) on the viability of the strains was studied. The results revealed that the chemical mutagen (MNNG) with the concentration 0.2 mg/ml has the clear effect on the viability of the strains , which killing percentage reached to 65.91% in the strain R. minuta BA78. Results of the study of mutagenesis with UVC showed that increase in killing percentage for all the studied strains with the increase of radiation period. The maximum effect was with the strain R. minuta BA78, the killing percentage reach to 100% with the radiation period 20 minute. The companying effects of chemical with the concentration 0.2 mg/ml and physical mutagen was studied. The result showed increase in killing percentage for the studied strains which reach to 100% with the radiation period 15 and 20 minute for the strain R. minuta BA78. The maximum effect on Beta- carotene production was on the strain R. mucilaginosa BA61, the productivity reach to maximum with amount 11. 45gm/l.

The genetic toxicity of aqueous and alcoholic extracts of seeds of Peganum harmala L. was evaluated on the onion roots ,using concentrations 10,25,50,100 and 200 % w/v of extracts and periods of exposure 24,48 and 74 hours. The results indicated that the Peganum harmala significantly decreased root growth rate of onion root at all concentrations and treatment periods in comparison to the control , the growth of the root decreased when increasing the extract concentration.The EC50value of aqueous extracts was 50% and for alcohol extract was 25% ,thus the alcohol extract was most effective in the growth rate of the roots from the aqueous extract. The results also indicated that the mitotic index of Allium cepa was significantly decreased when treated with aqueous and alcoholic extract,the mitotic index decreased when increasing the extract concentration. It was further noted that the mitoticindex was not significantly affected by increasing exposure periods.As the concentrations 25 and100% of aqueous and alcohol extracts respectively decrease MI below 50% in comparison with control ,these concentrations are considered semi lethal,while the concentration 200% for aqueous and alcoholic extract decrease the MI below 22% to the control considered lethal..Results showed that Peganum harmala seed extracts significantly decreased the prophase and significantly increased the Metaphase. High percentage of chromosomal aberrations ,in onion root was observed , which increased by increasing concentrations of extracts .The more chromosomal aberrations observed (stickiness, bridges, disturbed chromosome, and C-mitosis) ,the less frequent abnormalities observed (Shifting of poles, star chromosome, lagging chromosome and Polyploidy).

A histological study was conducted to examine the structure of Cerebellum in Coturnix coturnix (Linnaeus). The results showed that the cerebellum is a portion of the Rhombencephalon and Metencephalon lying behind the cerebrum, the surface of the cerebellum contains deep folds and appears spherical in its shape. It represented the dorsal side of metencephalon and surrounded the roof of IV ventricle. The cerebellum consists of three parts spino cerebellum, cerebro cerebelluum and vestibulo cerebellum; and three lobes anterior lobe, posterior lobe and flocculonodular lobe. The corpus cerebellum (Vermis) consists of nine folds called cerebellar-folia (IX-I) and separated from each other by sulci. Histologically, the cerebellum consists of a cerebellar cortex that is called gray matter composed of three major layers, outer molecular layer, middle Purkinje cells layer and inner granular layer, the second region of cerebellum is called medulla which is called white matter.

Out of 120 isolates from different clinical cases, only 75 were found and confirmed that they belong to the Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria. The result revealed that the LasB virulent gene was present in 63 isolates with 63% percentage. The gel electrophoresis showed that the molecular weight of LasB gene was 300 bp. DNA sequences of LasB gene was done, and the results showed the presence of some gene mutations like substitution, addition and deletion with 97% identity with the Refseq gene. From the other side, the results of identities of translated nucleotides sequence with the original sequence of amino acids revealed that there are no effects of gene mutations on translation of the product protein.

Glay pots experiments were carried out in the botanical garden of Biology Department/ College of Education for Pure Science Ibn AL-Haitham / Baghdad University for the growing season 2014-2015 , to evaluate the effect of foliar spraying of hydrogen peroxide ( H2O2) and glutamic acid and their interaction on some growth parameters and yield components of black cumin plant . The experiment included the following factors :- 1- Four concentrations of hydrogen peroxide (0 , 5 , 10 , 20 ) mM.L-1 . 2- Three concentrations of glutamic acid ( 0 , 50 , 100 ) mg.L-1 . The experiment was designed according to completely randomized design (CRD) with three replications , Results revealed that foliar spraying with hydrogen peroxide caused a significant decrease in the growth parameters while the spraying with glutamic acid caused a significant increase in the growth parameters , the effect of the interaction was significant also , the concentration 100 mg.L-1 glutamic acid and the the concentration 20 mM.L-1 hydrogen peroxide gave the best values for palnt hight , dry weight , the content of nitrogen , phosphorus , potassium , the protein concentration of vegetative part and plant seed . While the concertration 50 mg.L-1 glutamic acid and the concertration 20 mM.L-1 hydrogen peroxide gave the best values for chlorophyll a , b , total chlorophyll , the activity of the enzymes superoxide dismutase , peroxidase , the content of proline acid and the yield as No. of capsuls . plant-1 , Wt. of capsuls(gm) . plant-1 , Wt. of seeds(gm). Plant -1 , Biological yield (gm) . Plant -1 .

This study included 50 blood samples collected from children with mean age 8-12 years. Thirty five blood samples were collected from children with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1D) with mean age 9.4±0.34 years, and 15 blood samples collected from healthy children as a control sample with mean age 10.9±0.38 years. Immunogenetic study was done on collected blood samples. Concentrations of IFN-γ were estimated from T1D patient and control samples by using Elisa instrument. The concentration of this interferon was 1.575 pg/ml in T1D patient sample in comparison with 0.921 pg/ml in control sample. Significant differences of this interferon concentration were found between T1D patient and control samples when Mann-Whitney U test was used. Gene polymorphism of IFN-γ T/A +874 gene was studied by using Amplification refractory mutation system (ARMS-PCR) technique. The results of gel electrophoresis for IFN-γ T/A +874 gene revealed the presence of two alleles, A and T and three genotypes TT, TA and AA. The percentage frequency of T allele was higher from the A allele in T1D patient sample, whereas the percentage frequency of T allele was higher from A allele in control sample. The frequencies of A allele in T1D patient sample was significantly different with the same allele in control sample when Fisher’s test was used. The odds ratio (OR) and confidence Intervals (CI) values showed that the A allele was etiological faction (EF) and correlated with the disease, whereas the T allele was significantly different in control sample in comparison with T1D patient sample when Fisher’s test was used and become as preventive faction (PF). The results of ARMS-PCR technique for the IFN-γ T/A +874 gene were analyzed by using Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. The TT genotype percentage in control sample was higher in comparison with the T1D patient sample and significant difference was found by using Fisher’s test. The TT genotype revealed as preventive faction from the disease, whereas the TA genotype percentage was significantly different in T1D patient sample in comparison with control sample. The TA genotype also revealed as etiological faction and correlated with the disease. The percentage of AA genotype in T1D patient sample was higher in comparison with control sample with no significant differences and this genotype revealed as etiological faction and correlated with the disease.

The laboratory experment was conducted to study the effect of H2O2 with 5ppm,10 ppm and Uric Acid with 5ppm,10 ppm concentration on seed germination and seedling growth of ZeaMays L. The result showed that the H2O2 and Uric Acid effect significantly to increase percentage of seed germination , seedling vigor index,dry weight and proline concentration compared with control treatment ,given the concentration of each H2O2 and Uric Acid of the best result of seed germination 70.00%,76.00% and seedling vigor index 21.00%,26.00% and dry weight give in 5ppm to Uric Acid significantly increased 0.34%,the 10 ppm to H2O2 increased proline concentration in plant compared with control treatment.

Morphological description and histological structure of the liver have been studied in Durra bird Melopsittacus undulatus. The liver is a bilobed organ , the left lobe with three secondary lobes and slightly larger than the right lobe which is elliptical in shape. Liver is surrounded by a capsule that consists of thin layer of connective tissue with no distinction between interlobular septa . The parenchyma tissue consists of hepatic cells arranged with thickness 2_1 cell. Portal area appears within the liver parenchyma tissue composed of hepatic artery, portal vein and bile duct and supported by connective tissue. A gallbladder was not noticed in this species.

The effect of temperature range from 298 K to 348 K and volume filler content Ñ„ on electrical properties of polyethylene PE filled with nickel Ni powders has been investigated. The volume electrical resistivity V ï² of such composites decreases suddenly by several orders of magnitude at a critical volume concentration (i.e. Ñ„c=14.27 Vol.%) ,whereas the dielectric constant ï¥ ï‚¢ and the A.C electrical conductivity AC ï³ of such composites increase suddenly at a critical volume concentration (i.e. Ñ„c=14.27 Vol.%).For volume filler content lower than percolation threshold Ñ„<Ñ„c the resistivity decreases with increasing temperature, whereas the dielectric constant and the A.C electrical conductivity of such composites increase indicating a semi-conducting behavior, where for Ñ„> Ñ„c there is increase in the value of their resistivity, and decrease in the value of their dielectric constant and the A.C electrical conductivity AC ï³ with increasing temperature indicating metallic-conduction.

The Nano compound (Ba1-xSrxTiO3) as (X=0,0.26,0.28,0.30,0.32,0.34) was synthesized by using sol-gel method, the structural properties of result compound were studied by using xray diffraction test (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). the results were exhibited and by using software indexing to x-ray diffraction pattern that all prepared samples possess tetragonal phase and there is not any other phases were existed. also the substitution process didn't change the phase of compound and increase in (Sr+2) ion concentration leads to decrease lattice parameters (a,c) then the unite cell volume was decreased, as the particle size calculated from Debye-Scherrer and Williamson-Hall equations , and the calculated density from x-ray diffraction spectrum exhibited they were decreased with increase of (Sr+2) ion concentration, and scanning electron microscope pictures showed that prepared particles take a shape-like spherical shape.

In this work silicon solar cell has been used with semicircular grooves to improve its efficiency by reducing reflection of rays and increasing optical path through the cell. Software program for optical design (zemax) has been used by ray tracing mode to evaluate prototype efficiency when using detector beneath the cell. The prototype has aspect ratio (A.R=0.2) which is the best efficiency at incident angle (ϴ=0ͦ) and the best acceptance angle (ϴ=50ͦ).

In this work , impact strength and the water absorption ratio of powders of white and brown local chicken eggshell reinforced epoxy with different volume fractions ( 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 and 5 % ) were studied . The experimental results show that composite filled by ( 1 % Vol . )of white eggshell powder exhibited maximum impact strength and high resistance to tape water , so we choose this volume fraction to use the epoxy composite in coating . Optical microscopic observations are taken to develop a better understanding of the phenomena taking place in the material system at microscopic level .

N, N′- bis[4-hydroxy phenyl] pyromillitdiimide [II] was prepared from the corresponding diamic acid , which was transfered to its new ester by the reaction with chloroethyl acetate [III ], [III] was used to prepare the novel hydrazide derivative [IV] , which was allowed to react with several aldehydes to yield the hydrazones [V – IX]. All the new compounds were synthesized , and characterized by their melting points .HNMR for some of them.

The formation of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II)-complexes (C1-C5) respectively was studied with new Schiff base ligand [benzyl(2-hydroxy-1-naphthalidene) hydrazine carbodithioate derived from reaction of 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde and benzyl hydrazine carbodithioate. The suggested structures of the ligand and its complexes have been determined by using C.H.N.S analyzer, thermal analysis, FT-IR, U.V-Visible, 1HNMR, 13CNMR , conductivity measurement , magnetic susceptibility and atomic absorption. According to these studies, the ligand coordinates as a tridentate with metal ions through nitrogen atom of azomethane , oxygen atom of hydroxyl, and sulfur atom of thione and the ratio of ligand to metal (M:L) as (1:2) all the complexes were octahedral except copper-complex was distorted octahedral.

An accurate and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of carbamazepine (CRN.) in pure and dosage forms. The method is based on the oxidation of 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (2,4-DNPHz) by potassium periodate than coupling with carbamazepine (CRN.) in alkaline medium to form a stable yellowish brown colored water-soluble dye with a maximum absorption at 485 nm. The variables that affect the completion of reaction have been carefully optimized. Beer’s law is obeyed over the concentration range of (4-50 μg.mL-1) with molar absorptivity of (6.7335×103 L.mol-1.cm1). The limit of detection was (0.1052 μg.mL-1) and Sandell’s sensitivity value was 0.0350 μg.cm-2.The proposed method has been applied successfully to the determination of carbamazepine in pharmaceutical preparation.

A new hetrocyclic liquid crystal compounds containing 1,3,4-oxadiazole with different substituted in para position (Bromo, Chloro, Nitro and Methyl) were synthesized and characterized by melting points, FTIR Spectroscopy and 1HNMR spectroscopy for [Cl-SR6] and [NO2-SR6] compounds. The liquid crystalline properties of the synthesized compounds were studied by using hot-stage polarizing optical microscopy (POM), so they determined the transition enthalpies and entropies by using differential scanning calorimetery (DSC). All of the compounds show mesomorphic properties. The compounds [Br-SR6], [Cl-SR6] and [NO2SR6] exhibit an enantiotropic dimorphism smectic (Sm) phase, while the compounds [MeSR6] showed nematic (N) phase throw cooling only. Continuously, permittivity dielectric properties, electrical conductivity, relaxation times and activation energies have been studied in the range of temperatures (70-150)°C at two frequencies (500) Hz and (1000) Hz. Generally, the results show the dielectric permittivity and relaxation time values increasing when raising temperature, while electrical conductivity values decrease with increasing temperature. The activation energy values were determined in terms of the Arrhenius plot.

The corrosion behavior of 2024 aluminium alloy was investigated in alkaline medium (pH=13) containing 0.6 . in absence and presence of different concentrations of three amino acids separately [Methionine, Glutamice acid and Lysine] as environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors over the temperature range (293-308)K. Electrochemical polarization method using potentiostatic technique was employed. The inhibition efficiency increased with an increase of the inhibitor concentration but decreased with increase in temperature . The maximum efficiency value was found with lysine =80.4 of 293 k and 10 . concentration of lysine. The adsorption of the amino acids was found to obey Langmuir adsorption isotherm . Some thermodynamic parameter ∆ and activation energy ∗ were calculated to demonstrate the mechanism of corrosion inhibition . The kinetic parameters were calculated using Arrhenius theory. Suitable mechanism was proposed for the corrosion of 2024 aluminium alloy in alkaline medium. The polarization measurements indicated that the inhibitor is of mixed type. The surface morphology of uninhibitied and inhibited samples were investigated using optical microscope.

Transition metal complexes of Y(III), La(III) and Rh(III) with azo dye 2,4-dimethyl-6(4-nitro-phenylazo)-phenol derived from 4-nitroaniline and 2,4-dimethylphenol were synthesized. Characterization of these compounds has been done on the basis of elemental analysis, electronic data, FT-IR,UV-Vis and 1HNMR, as well as conductivity measurements. The nature of the complexes formed were studies following the mole ratio and continuous variation methods, Beer's law obeyed over a concentration range (1x10-4- 3x10-4). High molar absorbtivity of the complex solutions were observed. From the analytical data, the stoichiomerty of the complexes has been found to be 1:3 (Metal:ligand). On the basis of Physicochemical data octahedral geometries were assigned for the complexes.

Some metal ions (Mn+2, Co+2, Ni+2, Cu+2,Zn+2 and Cd+2) complexes of quodridentats Schiff base derived from (2-hydroxy benzaldehyde and 4,4'-methylenedianiline as primary ligand and 3-picoline (3-pic) secondary ligand have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of their 1H ,13C-NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, conductivity measurements, elemental analysis, and magnetic moments, metal to ligands ratio in all complexes has been found to be (1:1:2) (M:Schiff base:3-pic), Schiff base behaves as neutral tetra dentate ligand with (N2,O2) system from the results obtained, the following general formula has suggested for the prepared complexes [M+2(2-mbd)(3-pic)2] and octahedral stereochemistry, Where M+2 = (Mn , Co , Ni , Cu , Zn and Cd), 2-mbd = 2,2'-(1E,1'E)-(4,4'-methylene bis (4,1-phenylene ) bis (azan-1-yl-1-ylidene) bis(methan-1- yl-1-ylidene)diphenol (2-mbd), 3-pic = 3-picoline.

In this study azo dye was prepared by the reaction of m-phenylendidiazonium chloride with methyl salicylate, the resultant compound was used as a ligand for complex formation with Fe+2, Cu+2, Zn+2, Ni+2 and Co+2 ions. The prepared ligand was characterized by H1NMR, UV-Vis., And FTIR spectroscopy, CHN analysis, in addition the complexes were characterized by TGA, UV-Vis., FTIR and conductivity methods. The results indicate that the ligand chelated through phenoxy and carboxyl groups as a O4 quadra dentate ligand, the Co complex complet its hexagon coordination by bonding with chlorine and the complex wouid be electrolytic in opposite with rest complexes.

The objective of the present study is to compare the effect of insulin like growth factor-1 on the lipid profile in sera of diabetic patients with and without dyslipidemia having the same medical treatment and compared with healthy control. The study included three groups. The biochemical parameters which were measured include, fasting blood sugar(FBS), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), fasting insulin, insulin like growth factor-1(IGF-1), lipid profile [Total cholesterol (Tc) , triglyceride(TG), high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-c) ,low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-c)and very low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (VLDL-c)], Atherogenic index of plasma(AIP), insulin resistance(IR). The results revealed a significant increase in FBS,HbA1c,Tc,TG,LDL-c,VLDL-c,AIP, insulin level and HOMA-IR while a significant decrease in IGF-1 and HDL-c in G2 and G3 was noticed comparing to G1. The conclusion could be drown from the present study that low levels of IGF-1 in groups comparing with healthy control, which may be led to the high levels of insulin resistance, while no effect of dyslipidemia on IGF-1.

Graphite coated electrodes (GCE) based on molecularly imprinted polymers were fabricated for the selective potentiometric determination of Glibenclamide (Glb). The molecularly imprinted (MIP) and nonimprinted (NIP) polymers were synthesized by radical bulk polymerization using (Glb.) as a template, acrylic acid (AA) and acrylamide (AAm) as monomers, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as a cross-linker and benzoyl peroxide (BPO) as an initiator. The imprinted membranes and the non-imprinted membranes were prepared using dioctyl phthalate (DOP) and Dibutylphthalate (DBP) as plasticizers in PVC matrix. The membranes were coated on graphite electrodes. The MIP electrodes using (AA) and (AAm) showed a near nernstian response with slopes of -51.5±0.5and 57.8±0.1mV/decade, correlation coefficient (r2) 0.9762 and 0.9992, a linear response for a concentration range of (1.0×10-4- 1.0×10-2) M and (1.0×10-5- 1.0×10-3) M and detection limit of 1.0×10-4M and 1.0×10-5M respectively. The response time of the prepared electrodes was less than 30 seconds. The electrode responses were stable in a pH range (2-4). The electrodes could be successfully used within (1and 6) weeks respectively without any drift. The sensors exhibited good selectivity over a wide range of interference. The most effective electrode was used to determine the concentration of (Glb.) in some pharmaceutical formulations.

Two series of bent core mesogen containing 1,2,4-traizole ring [X]a-e and [XI]a-e were synthesized by many steps starting from esterification of isophthalic acid with methanol to yield diester compound [I] which was converted to their acid hydrazide [II] and the acid hydrazide reacted with ammonium thiocyanate or phenyl isothiocyanate to yield compounds [III] and [IV] , respectively . Then cyclization by 4% NaOH to yielded 1,2,4 traizole-3- thiol compounds [V] and [VI], respectively, afterword adding hydrazine hydrate to yield compounds [VII] and [VIII] .These compounds condensated with different substituted aldehyde to give new Schiff bases[X]a-e and [XI]a-e,respectively. The synthesized compounds were characterized by melting points , FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy (some of them).The liquid crystalline properties were studied by hot stage polarizing microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry DSC for compound [X]b . The compounds [X]b , [X]c and [X]d showed mesomorphism properties while the other compounds did not show any mesomorphic behavior.

In this study the Bauxite has been activated and used to prepare two complexes: Bauxite - urea and Bauxite - melamine, these complexes were merged and polymerized with formaldehyde to prepare the complex Bauxite polymer - urea - melamine - formaldehyde (modified Bauxite). In the Bauxite-urea complex XRD results indicate that the urea molecules penetrate among the layers of the crystal plane (110) of the Gibbsite mineral while in the Bauxite-melamine the interaction was at the outer surface of the Bauxite forming minerals because the relatively large volume of the melamine molecule. FT-IR results show the interaction of these two bases with Bauxite was mainly based on the hydrogen bonding and in less extent on the coordination between N loan pair atom and aluminum empty orbital in the above complexes. Finally the copolymer was formed around the micro-crystals of Bauxite minerals.

This research studies the development and synthesis of blended nanocomposites filled with Titanium dioxide (TiO2). Blended nanocomposites based on unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) and epoxy resins were synthesized by reactive blending. The optimum quantity from nano partical of titanium dioxide was selected and different weight proportions 1%, 3%, 5%, and 7% ratios of new epoxy are blended with UPR resin. The dielectric breakdown strength and thermal conductivity properties of the blended nanocomposites were compared with those of the basis material (UPR and 3% TiO2).The results show good compatibility epoxy resins with the UPR resin on blending, dielectric breakdown strength values are higher while thermal conductivity values of blends nanocomposites are significantly lower compared to that of the(UPR and 3% TiO2), semi-interpenetrating UPR/Epoxy blends (semi-IPNs) for one type of new epoxy [P2]was prepared and noticed the blend nanocomposites show higher dielectric breakdown strength than the semi- IPNs (UPR/Epoxy) at low loading of new epoxies but the thermal conductivity is a higher than the semi- IPNs UPR/Epoxy at all loading. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) was employed to study the thermal properties of the blended nanocomposites.

This paper concerns is the preparation and characterization of a bidentate ligand [4-(5,5dimethyl-3-oxocyclohex-1-enylamino)-N-(5-methylisoxazol-3-yl) benzene sulfonamide]. The ligand was prepared from fusing of sulfamethoxazole and dimedone at (140) ºC for half hour. The complex was prepared by refluxing the ligand with a bivalent cobalt ion using ethanol as a solvent. The prepared ligand and complex were identified using Spectroscopic methods. The proposed tetrahedral geometry around the metal ions studied were concluded from these measurements. Both molar ratio and continuous variation method were studied to determine metal to ligand ratio (M:L). The M to L ratio was found to be (1:1). The adsorption of cobalt complex was carried out using bentonite as adsorbent. The optimization of the adsorption conditions were studied as a function of contact time , temperature , pH , adsorbent weight and particle size. The results revealed that the time needed to reach concentration equilibrium was 60 min for cobalt complex. While the trend of the adsorption isotherm was L1 type according to Giles classification . Thermodynamic functions (ΔH, ΔG, and ΔS) were calculated.

In this paper we introduce new class of open sets called weak N-open sets and we study the relation between N-open sets , weak N-open sets and some other open sets. We prove several results about them.

Content-based image retrieval has been keenly developed in numerous fields. This provides more active management and retrieval of images than the keyword-based method. So the content based image retrieval becomes one of the liveliest researches in the past few years. In a given set of objects, the retrieval of information suggests solutions to search for those in response to a particular description. The set of objects which can be considered are documents, images, videos, or sounds. This paper proposes a method to retrieve a multi-view face from a large face database according to color and texture attributes. Some of the features used for retrieval are color attributes such as the mean, the variance, and the color image's bitmap. In addition, the energy, and the entropy which based on the gray level values in an image is too considered as the features. In addition to statistical approaches, models of artificial intelligence produce a desirable methodology that enhances performance in information retrieval systems, and the genetic algorithm depicts one of them. The GA is preferred for its power and because it can be used without any specific information of the domain. The experimental results conclude that using GA gives a good performance and it decreases the average search time to (60.15 milliseconds) compared with (722.25milliseconds) for traditional search.
