About the Journal
Durar Journal for Islamic Studies is a peer-reviewed scientific journal concerned with Islamic and human studies and research, issued by the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Diyala.
- The journal is published twice, one issue every six months.
- The journal is open access, meaning that all content is available free of charge to the user or their institution.
- Scientific research shall be published on electronic platforms, with the possibility of providing the researcher with a certified paper copy for the purposes of scientific promotion or annual evaluation.
- The approved language is Arabic first, then English second.
- Published research expresses the opinions of its authors and does not necessarily represent the views of the editorial board.
- The journal receives research related to Islamic studies in all types of Islamic knowledge.
- The journal also receives financial, economic, legal, and historical research related to Islamic law, which constitutes an intellectual addition in its field of specialization.
- The Journal combines authenticity and modernity, taking into account renewal and modernization based on an authentic scientific approach.
- The Journal respects religious and intellectual diversity, far from fanaticism and rigidity.
Journal Scope
Scope & Objectives
Journal Scope:
The Durar Journal for Islamic Studies is dedicated to publishing original, peer-reviewed scholarly research in various fields of Islamic studies, including jurisprudence and its principles, creed and Islamic thought, Qur’anic sciences and exegesis, and Hadith and its sciences, in addition to comparative, linguistic, legal, and historical studies related to Islamic disciplines. The journal aims to be a credible scientific platform that contributes to the advancement of academic research and promotes the values of moderation and balance by presenting reliable scholarly content that meets the needs of researchers and those interested in contemporary Islamic issues. It also seeks to support dedicated researchers and enrich the Islamic academic library with scholarly output that is responsive to present-day developments and offers balanced academic insight into contemporary challenges.
Journal Objectives:
- To publish peer-reviewed scholarly research characterized by originality and rigorous academic methodology across various branches of Islamic sciences.
- To promote academic activity within and beyond the institution by providing a scientific platform for researchers specializing in Islamic studies.
- To contribute to addressing contemporary intellectual and social issues from a balanced Islamic scholarly perspective.
- To encourage comparative studies and knowledge integration between Islamic sciences and other humanities disciplines.
- To contribute to the preservation of Islamic heritage and reinterpret it using modern academic approaches and contemporary language.
- To support scholarly communication among researchers at the local, regional, and international levels through publication in both Arabic and English.
- To enhance openness to global academic institutions and strive for inclusion in international databases and indexing platforms such as Scopus and participation in initiatives of reputable academic organizations such as DOAJ and COPE.
- To adhere to international publishing standards in terms of quality, academic integrity, respect for intellectual property rights, and the assurance of rigorous peer-review processes.

Durar Journal for Islamic Studies is an open-access journal based on the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and therefore there are no fees required to download any publication from the journal’s website by authors, readers, and institutions.
