The examination of 760 feces samples collected from children of primary and secondary school during the period from January 2004 till June 2004 of center and outside of Basrah province revealed low incidence with Hymenolepis nana 3.9% . The average of ages group was 6 – 17 years old and for both sexes(374 males and 386 females). The direct G.S.E. and flotation methods were used. The present study shows a high significant differences between males and females. High rate of infection was recorded in age group 13 – 16 years old and in crowded families and those who drink tap water and live in mud and blocks made houses. The examination of 174 stool samples of adhesive tape collected from people of some families in Basrah during the period from July 2004 till December 2004 revealed 19.5% of infection with E. vermicularis. The present study includes 101 sample collected from city center and 73 sample from outside of Basrah province . The average of age group was 1 – 40 years old for both sexes (98 males and 76 females). A high infection recorded during the winter months. A high significant was recorded between males and females, moreover high infection was found at school age groups.

It is aimed to study effects of origanum vulgare on serum glucose, blood film (total and differential white blood cells and immunoglobulin (IgG,IgM,IgA and complements C3 , C4) in alloxane-induced diabetic mice. Animals were divided into five groups of 5 animals each as follows: Non-diabetic mice (control group), non-treated alloxane diabetic mice, alloxane diabetic mice treated with origanum vulgare. Alloxan diabetic mice were injected with Origanum Vulgare extract for 1,2,3 weeks at a dosage of 0.18 g/kg body weight. The mice treated with alloxan (150 mg/kg B.W) to induce diabetic were showed increased in blood glucose level (hyperglycemia) , decreased in total and differential WBCs and immunoglobulin (IgG,IgM,IgA and complements C3 , C4) compared with control group, while the results of alloxan diabetic mice treated with origanum vulgare showed significantly (P<0.05) decreased in blood glucose level , increased in total and differential WBCs and immunoglobulin (IgG,IgM,IgA and complements C3 , C4) compared with alloxan diabetic mice group with out treated.

The Tin dioxide films obtained by spray hydrolysis deposition method were improvement to be used as development elements for gases sensors. We were studied sensitivity and selectivity of these films mixture CH4 and CO gases and alone, we found that the degree of sensitivity of films when there is gases higher as compared without gases. Due to their high sensitivity and particular selectivity SnO2 films becomes perspective material for sensitive elements of gases sensors towards toxic and explosive gases like methane and carbon oxide for example to these kinds of gases.

Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) or kala-azar is caused by an intracellular protozoan parasite of the Leishmania donovani complex and is considered as one of the most neglected diseases.To detect IgG antibody in the serodiagnosis of visceral leishmaniasis (VL), a recombinant antigen rK39, which is part of a Leishmania donovani kinesin-related protein, has been used successfully and showed high sensitivity and specificity. The rK39 dipstick showed a sensitivity of 95% (95 positive samples among 100 from VL patients) . The total human patients involved in this study were 100 divided into four age groups . Kala-azar infection found among children under one year old of the patient groups 60 (60 %).This higher rate than the other age groups which was began to decrease reaching to(1%) in age more than 40 years of age groups . Males were high infected 62 % (62/100) than females 38% (38/100)in patient groups Therefore, the ratio of male / female was 1.6 / 1.

The interaction between the incident, high frequency, electromagnetic waves with plasma layer shows that the existence of negative ions and the non-linear effect reduces the power absorption capability of the plasma. In this research we study and discuss all parameters of the great influence in this process depending on many important equations, like the Maxwell equations, current response of the plasma equation, multi – fluid momentum equation and the continuity equation. Numerical simulations based on the finite- difference- time- domain approximation to multi- fluid equations for the positive ions, negative ions and electrons are used to study high frequency electromagnetic waves propagation and absorption in an unmagnetized plasma layer. A good agreement in the comparison between the simulations in this work and the experimental results in the previous works is shown.

The present study deals with the determination of effective component in the hatching media . it reaveled that there is a large variability in the effects of different solutions on the percentage ofhatching . The hatching index of the different solutions showed that bile was most effective component and respond for 55.3% of hatching . The second factor was sodium bicarbonate ( NaHCO3 ) solution 42.83%, trypsin gave 14.0% of hatching and then the pancreatin which gave10.2% . Each of hydrochloric acid and pepsin solution doesn’t affect the percentage of hatching. The component of Artificial Intestinal Solution ( AIS ) is very important for the completion of hatching process , where the absence of each component resulted in a change of the hatching rate . There were significant differences between the percentage of hatching.

A study in year 2006 show the effect of the fungus Beauveria bassiana in percentages of killing different stages of the insect cowpen weevil callosobrunchus maculates in three different dilutions 3.4 × 10-6 , 3.4 × 10-5 × 3.4 × 10-6 spore/ML in constant temp. 28 ± 2 C and R.H.75 ± 5%. The best dilution was 3.4×10-6 the percentage of egg hatching 30 % and percentage killing for the four larval in star was 43.3 # and also percentage killing at the pupae 70% and percentage killing of adult 100% male and female.

A computational investigation has been carried out on the design and properties of Glaser's lens. The limiting factor in magnetic lens design is the current density that can be supported by the coil. The current density was used as parameters of the magnetic lens design. These parameters were studied for finding the minimum spherical and chromatic aberration coefficients. The computed aberration has been normalized in term of focal length under zero magnification condition.

During the period between April 2008 to March 2009,144 fish from Al-Shinafya river were collected and examined . the result revealed that both kinds of fish were infected with four groups of parasites:Philometra intestinalis,Contracaecum sp,Neoechinorychos rutili and Lernaea cyprinacea . The last one was found on the skin of Cyprnus carpio. Liza abu was infected with parasites for about 47.5% in comparison toCyrnus carpio which was %43.7 throughout the period of study . It was noticed that the highest degree of infection with N .rutili during July was 66.6% as far as Liza abu was concerned. Whereas, Cyprnus carpio was infected with the same parasite nearly 50% throughout April and August. In addition,the two kinds of fish were infected with N.rutili and P. intestinalis about 20% and 25% respectively .The percentage of Cyprnus carpio ś infection with L. cyprinacea was 16.6% throughout September and November.
The present study shows that the longer the fish is the more infected with parasites. As such, the male of Liza abu whose length was (1.15-17 cm) registered the highest degree of infection as opposed to the female of Cyprnus which was 66-6% due to its length (1.19 cm and more). The statistic analyses revealed that there was no abstract infection between the two sexes . And that the percentage of infection with parasites increases with the increase of temperature which was 53.8% during July.

The Boltzmann transport equation is used to calculate the electron energy distribution function (EEDF) and the transport parameters in pure CO2, Xe and their mixtures. Moreover, the electron swarm parameters are evaluated in the rang
( 1 x 10-18 < E < 2 X 10-15 ) V.cm2 . These parameters, namely are drift velocity and ionization coefficient. Reported electron cross-section data have been used in the calculation. The calculated distribution function are found to be remarkably non- Maxwillian that have energy variations which reflect the import electron-molecule energy exchange processes the importance of the results obtained from molecular gas discharge lasers is also discussed.

Effect of scattering parameter is that the effect which it is effected on the operating characteristics of direct modulated semiconductor lasers by small signal analysis for injection current density , where this parameter is effected on amount of quantum confinement carriers density where the part of this carriers density is lost in the active region. The scattering parameter leads to appear the nonlinear gain effects which they are reduced the response frequency of the direct modulation process. We use the rate equations of the single-mode semiconductor lasers and that they have characteristics are used to continuous-wave small-signal modulation. We can presented this effect and discussion it by the simple two-port device.

This study aimed to know the effect of nematodes Insecticide "Vydate" on vitality and activity of two pathogenic fungi of plant which is:Aspergillus flavus and Fusarium oxysporum in solid medium PDA and liquid structural medium "Trace Salt Solution". Results showed that the insecticide Vydate have a stimulated effect on growth of both fungi which promoted on solid and liquid media when it added to them and with concentration 1, 2 , 5 ppm respectively this result gave evidence that the two fungi were able to conversion this insecticide to other compounds laboratory and this refer to that the microbial play a big role in analysis of insecticide and used it as a nutrient source of carbon, nitrogen and energy through is growth in liquid medium which contain a very little mounts from these elements. When the insecticide effect studied on spores formation, the result showed is that there is no negative effect on spores formation and on length of germinal tubes.This means that Vydate has a stimulated effectance on both fungi growth:A.flavus and F.oxysporum.

Dermatoglyphic analysis of 100 myopia cases and 100 healthy controls from Iraq was studied .The cases diseased series showed morphological differences as compared with controls .The study showed a significant increase in whorl and decrease in ulnar loop patterns .The mean of total ridge counts in digits differ significantly in both hands .A significant differences were observed in the means of interdigital ridge counts and PII.andin the means of unilateral and bilateral analysis .The results of this study affirm the existence of genetic predisposition to myopia and emphasizing the relevance of hereditary factors in the eitopathogenesis of this disease as well as the environmental factors . This experiment was conducted at the drying and thrushing of maize cob mill . Ministry of Agriculture , Baghdad at the Mycotoxins Laboratory , Plant Protection Dep.. Coll . of Agriculture , Uni . of Baghdad. This study aimed to study the effect of moisture content and temperature of corn stored in ware- houses and out – doors for production and determination of Aflatoxin B1. 1200 Kg of corn crops were used for our experiment, and were divided each 600 Kg stored out – doors and in doors respectively . Samples had been taken for (7) months by using stratified random sampling method. Results showed that the production of Aflatoxin B1in ware –houses was higher than that of out – door storage in three periods ( the middle of December , the middle of January, the middle of February ) . The temperature effect was stronger than moisture content and the Aflatoxin B1 was increased with higher temperature between ( 13- 32.8) wareas the decrease moisture content of corn in out –door was higher than that of where –houses storage ratio (5.8) . According to The above results , it was concluded that out- door storage was suitable for storing grain corn when compared to warehouse storage from the point of secretion of Aflatoxins. Whereas, the warehouse storage was better than out- door storage for moisture was being lost in local storage.

A total of 264 women with preeclampsia have been chosen. They were randomly allocated either to the study group (N=132) or control group (N=132). Patients in either group had mild, severe or chronic hypertension with superimposed preeclkampsia. Patients in the study group were assigned to receive 20 mg furesemide plus potassium orally for 5 days only, while patient in the control group received none. Oral antihypertensive drugs were used only when diastolic blood pressure was eeither above 90 mmHg on 2 occasions, or 110 mmHg single reading. The total days for need of oral antihypertensive drugs as well as the total days spent inpatients were recorded. Patients with severe preeclampsia where categorized as those who have low platelets count as well as high serum liver enzymes in addition to the ordinary signs and symptoms of preeclampsia; hypertension, proteinurea and edema.

The ultimate bearing capacity of ring footings for different conditions such as internal to external diameter ratio and angle of internal friction for sand is determined using the finite element program ELPLA Professional Edition, Version 9.0. A semi-empirical relation for determining the bearing capacity of ring footings that developed by other researchers is also described and used in compared. The value of ultimate bearing capacity is found to decrease significantly with an increase in (r =di/de), where di and de are the internal and external diameter of the ring, respectively. For larger values of internal friction angle of soil (), the magnitude of ultimate bearing capacity is seen to be higher than smaller values. The obtained results are compared with those available in the literature.

The study aims at identifying the level of application of PELARUS agricultural tractors maintenance in DAIR district of BASRAH and recognizing the social and economical characteristics of farmers and their relation with the level of application of maintenance. The study depends on the interview questionnaire to collect the data. The study covers 420 farmers who are the population of the study .A random sample of 15 % is chosen. The number of the respondents is 63 farmers. Some statistical methods such as percent, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson correlation are used to analyze the collected data. The study reveals that the level of application was weak tends to be medium .The general mean is 15.43 and the standard deviation of 16.3. The majority of the respondents failed in first category which represents the low category . The study also revealed that there was positive relationship between age, study attainment , experience in tractors maintenance , participation in training courses According to the results of the study it is recommended that more agricultural extension efforts should be paid to communicate the correct information to farmers . It is also recommended to insure the coordination between of agricultural supplies and the directorates agriculture to make spare parts available.

Partial characterization of α-amylase purified from Thermophilic Bacillus spp. were studied by using ammonium sulfate and ion-exchange. The results of gel-filtration were demonstrated that the molecular weight of purified enzyme was 51285 Dalton. The optimum pH for enzyme’s activity was pH = 9 and the enzyme showed stability at pH in the range pH 9 – 7. The optimum temperature for the enzyme’s activity was 70 an the enzyme showe thermo sta ility etween 40 to 70 to 15 minutes. The value of activation energy to convert the substrate (starch) into products reached to 9.56 kcal /mol. The averages value of Mechalis constant (km) and maximum velocity of enzyme (Vmax) were 0.72%, 10.4 mM/min respectively. The EDTA and NaN3 inhi its α-amylase activity while the calcium chlori e increases the enzyme activity an thermosta ility 145 70 to 90 for 10 minutes respectively, when adding 0.3 mM calcium chloride to the reaction solution.
