This study included to determine the effect of alcoholic extract of the Caper plant( roots , stems and leaves) to grow at the isolates microbial isolated from people with mouth and gum infections .After collection of 50 smears oral, the results of diagnosis of microbes as follow :15 isolates of t Streptococcus viridans (37.5%) , 8 isolates belonging to the bacteria Streptococcus pyogenes (20%), 5 isolates belonging to the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus (12.5%),2 isolates of bacteria Escherichia coli (5%), one isolate of Staphylococcus saprophyticus (2.5%) and 8 isolates of yeasts as Candida albicans (20%) and 1 isolates of Candida tropicalis (2.5%). isolates showed full resistance to antibiotics has been tested to determine the effect of alcoholic extracts of three parts of Caper plant (roots, stems and leaves) on them. The results showed that extracts Caper capable inhibitor high against the growth of microbes and there was variation in the diameters of inhibition where the greater focus increased diameters of inhibition, and the alcoholic extract of the roots were more effective in its impact on the isolates of bacteria and yeast under study compared alcoholic extracts of leaves, stems, as it showed high ranges of the diameters of inhibition zones ranged between (20-42) mm to S. aureus

The presented paper aims at using an innovative analytical method to determine the drug ephedrine hydrochloride (EPH), (Usually used for treating different diseases like asthma) in some pharmaceutical preparations using molecular absorption techniques (UV-Visible). Chelate complex is prepared through the reaction between EPH and Co (II). Determination of ephedrine is done as a EPH – Co (II) after extraction by chloroform at λ max 389 nm, and the analytical results are obtained as follows, metal to legend (2:1). Linear dynamic range (1-80 mg/ml) for EPH, (RSD%=0,303), D.L= (0, 94 g/ml), Sandell's sensitivity (S=0.0135), (Erel. %=0, 039), (Rec. %=100, 039)

This study included 33 coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS) and 35 Staphylococcus aureus isolated from sexually active females with symptomatic genital tract infection (64 pregnant and 110 non-pregnant). Comparison of phenotypic characteristics showed that the difference is not significant between CNS and S. aureus isolates for hemolytic activity (63.6% and 54.2%, respectively); lipolytic activity (87.8% and 88.5%, respectively); protease production (18.1% and 31.4%, respectively). and biofilm formation ( 96.9% and 94.2%, respectively). Whereas the difference is significant (P≤ 0.05) for urease production (18.1% and 42.8%, respectively). With the exception of lipolytic activity and biofilm formation, co-expression of other factors showed that there was an opposite expression of hemolytic and proteolytic activities of both CNS and S. aureus isolates. For CNS only 3/33 (9%) of the isolates were hemolytic and preoteolytic while for S. aureus only 2/35 (5.7%) isolates had this characteristics. Also for S. aureus isolates, ureolytic activity was more correlated with hemolytic (20%) and proteolytic (11.4%) activities than in CNS (6.0% and 3.0%, respectively). We concluded that, for this study included factors, the virulence of CNS isolated from females' genital tract infection is comparable to that of the potential females' genital tract pathogen, S. aureus. So that, CNS can be opportunistic pathogens in these cases rather than mere contaminants.

The method of double brace plastic sacked bunches fruits of date palm is studied for the varieties are Khadhrawi , Zehdy , Shauthy and Kstawie .There was decrease percentage in fruit loss and also in insect infection percentage and fruits fungus rot .The fruits fungus rot diagnosed.. The highest infection percentage in fruits was 60% fungus by the Aspergillus niger in Khadhrawi variety .The Correlation is significant at P< 0.05 level for Khadhrawi , Zehdy and at P< 0.01 level for zehydy varieties

In this paper we introduce a proposed cascade classifier system consists of five strong classifiers (stages), and empirically analysis three types of Adaboost algorithms (Real, Modest, and Gentle) which it were used for boosting the strong classifiers. Five prototypes of haar-like features (two-horizontal rectangles, two-vertical rectangles, three-horizontal rectangles, three-vertical rectangles, and four-rectangles) are used for each strong classifier (stage) of cascade classifier. Two-horizontal, two-vertical rectangles features and Modest-Adaboost Algorithm are applied for the 1st and 2nd strong classifier respectively, three-horizontal, vertical-rectangles features and Real-Adaboost Algorithm are applied for 3rd and 4th strong classifier respectively, and the last, four-rectangles and Real-Adaboost Algorithm are applied for the 5th strong classifier of cascade classifier. The implementation shows that the best use of Adaboost algorithm is: the Modest-Adaboost algorithm for both 1st and 2nd strong classifier, and the Real-Adaboost algorithm for 3rd,4th and 5th strong classifier.

The aim of this study is to measure the uranium concentrations in soil samples taken from regions situated in Wasit governorateat depth(5-15)cm.The determination of uranium concentration in soil CR-39 Track detector. The nuclear reaction used a source of nuclear fission fragments U23592(n , f) obtained by the bombardment of U23592with thermal neutrons from (Am-Be) source which has flux of (5 ×103n cm-2s-1). Radionuclide(U23592) was measured to all the zones of the study. The maximum and minimum activity concentration of (U23592) were (3.75 ppm and 1.11 ppm) at the zones(A1)and (K5) respectively.

Theoptical properties of polymer composite polycarbonate-polystyrene (PC-PS) films with different filling levels of Titanium oxide (TiO2) were studied in the visible and ultraviolent wavelength regions. It was found that the optical absorption is due to direct allowed transitions, and the energy gaps increase from 3.4863 eVfor 2.5%TiO2to 3.9034 eVfor 7.5%TiO2filler content, while the width of the tail localized states decrease with increasing TiO2content. The optical constants refractive index n, extinction coefficient k, the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric constants have been also calculated.The dielectric constant and refractive index are also affected by TiO2content.

The conversion of ethanol to acetaldehyde in an atmospheric integral up flow reactor (inside diameter and height equal to 2.0 and 80 cm respectively)which was studied in order to find the optimum reaction temperature, the effect of ethanol concentration and flow rate according to the type of catalyst used. The proposed dehydrogenation method offers several advantages over the various production processes advantages are cheap raw (ethyl alcohol) and the reaction occur at atmospheric pressure. The (NiO/Al2O3) catalyst was prepared in laboratory using ten gram of catalyst in the reaction, the studied temperature range was 250-325° C at atmospheric pressure, the ethanol mole Concentration ranging between 90% - 100% mole and the flow rate was 1-4 ml/min Where (NiO/Al2O3) catalyst was employed the maximum yield of acetaldehyde is 43% mole and the conversion of ethyl alcohol at the optimum reaction conditions is 74% mole.

In this work, the modal gain of SQW GaAs/AlGaAs has been calculated using the Fermi-Golden Rule with varying the quantum well thickness Lz =(100,75) Ǻ, at a temperature of T=300oK, at a bandgap discontinuity of ΔEc of 0.1 eV , this calculation was achieved using two models, the simplified and the polarization enhancement model at a carrier injection condition of N=3.348*1018 cm-3.

This paper introduce proposed algorithm consist of: (1) using Discreet Fourier Transformation (DFT) which convert an image into frequency domain image, then compress frequency domain image with Run-Length-Encoding (RLE), and Arithmetic Coding. (2) Apply Inverse Fourier Transformation (IDFT) to obtains an approximately original image, and then compared with original image to get the difference stored in a new matrix called (D(spatial) ). The matrix D(spatial) transformed to frequency domain by Discreet Cosine Transform (DCT) (D(frequency)). Finally applying weight vector (W= [0.5, 0.3, 0.2]) on the D(frequency), multiply "W" with each three coefficients from matrix D(frequency) to produce a new matrix (G), at last compress matrix G by arithmetic coding. (3) The decompression process start from arithmetic decoding to return frequency domain matrix (i.e. return DFT image), then apply Inverse DFT to get an image A, also from arithmetic decoding produced matrix G. The Genetic Algorithm used to produce minimized matrix D(frequency) by take each data from matrix G and using fitness function. Finally apply inverse DCT to generate matrix D(spatial), added with image A to produce a decompressed image. In this paper our approach, compared with JPEG technique, by using Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR).

A prospective study was conducted on (864) patients with history of prolonged fever who were admitted in hospitals of Wasit governorate over (36) months in the period from 1st January 2006 to 31st December 2008. A presumptive diagnosis of visceral leishmaniasis (V.L.) was done depending on clinical examination which was confirmed by laboratory methods (Complete Blood Picture, rk39 Dipstick, IFAT). In this study (900) blood samples were tested serologically by using both rK39 Dipstick and IFAT ;( 864) samples out of the total samples were diagnosed as having V.L. by classic clinical presentation, while( 36 ) samples were without presumptive diagnosis of V.L. (used to clarify the specificity of rK39 Dipstick & IFAT) .Eight hundred-seven samples from patients with suspected V.L. were serologically positive ; the rest (57) samples and all the( 36) samples from patients without suspicion of V.L. were negative.All seronegative patients were excluded from this study . In this study males constituted 50.4% and females constituted 49.6% of the total sample included, and the male: female ratio was 1.02:1. The majority of cases of V.L.(52.41%) were between the age of (1-2) years & the second major group of patients (32.72%) was < 1 year . Heavy infection appeared in Winter (46.96%) and decline in late Autumn (9.79%) , with about one quarter of cases registered during February, and another peak in January. There was a decrease in the number of reported cases of V.L. in Wasit governorate in 2008 compared to 2006 . The highest number of cases registered were from Al-Sowaira (46.47%) and Al-Azizia (35.56%) sub-districts ; with the least number of cases from Badra (0.25%) . The majority of patients (48.08%) took 2-6 months to present with the full blown picture of V.L. The main presenting symptom was fever which was seen in all cases (100%) and the main sign was splenomegaly which was detected in (81.9%) .A large number of patients presented with more than one sign and symptom. Pallor was apparent in 87.1% of patients with muscle wasting &malnutrition in 60.5% .Anemia was detected in 90.5% of patients which was severe to moderate in 60.5% and 416 of patients(51.5%) needed blood transfusion. Leucopenia was evident in the majority of patients (76.3%) and about 12% of patients developed severe thrombocytopenia & about half the patients with mild to moderate thrombocytopenia . The sensitivity of the rK39 Dipstick test was 90.39% , and the specificity was 100 % while the sensitivity of IFAT was 71.99%, and specificity was 100%. Thirty-nine patients died in hospitals (4.83%); pneumonia and septicemia were the leading causes of mortality

This paper represents an approach for image coding which consists of three parts: The first part is DCT which is used one dimensional discrete cosine transform converts each (n-pixel) into frequency domain, then reduces number of frequency domain elements by deleting half number of elements. The second part applies SNC (Shift Number Coding) on the remained coefficient elements, these elements are converted to integer number. SNC does not need to compute the probability for an image file, just compute the values for each coefficient in frequency domain matrix. The value is computed by selecting maximum number in matrix, then it divides the interval {0...1} by maximum number. This value is shifted by shift function then sum with previous value, the total values represent Compression Value. Finally the arithmetic coding used to compress the matrix of compression value into stream of bits. This approach is tested with three types of images, and compared with JPEG, PNG, and TIFF by using Compression Ratio and PSNR.

The water quality management for surface water aims to reducing the eutrophication by controlling and reducing the input phosphorus to the lakes and waterways. Two methods are currently being used around the world to remove phosphorus in wastewater: biological and chemical phosphorus removal. This study was conducted to predict and compare the efficiency of phosphorus removal between designed biological process for Numaniya WWTP and chemical process as well as EBPR plus chemical process. Results obtained from the study demonstrate that combination between the EBPR plus chemical process removal performs better than other choices in terms of effluent quality and alum cost .

Twenty ethanolic extracts of medicinal and wild plants were screened for their antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, and Proteus vulgaris. Using gar diffusion technique, it was found that Achillea santolina, Teucrium polium, Artemisia Campestris, Alhagimourorum medic, Peganum harmala, Astragalus, Hamosus, and Atriplex hoetensis possess a potent Antibacterial effect.
