The electrical conductivity properties were studying characteristics of SnO2:In2O3 thin films, prepared by thermal evaporation method by Magnetron Sputtering Technology with high quality. Optimal conditions for obtaining thin film with maximum gas sensitivity where revealed. During the results of this study was clear that the maximum sensitive degree for doped tin dioxide thin film by Indium at a temperature less than undoped tin dioxide thin films. Sensitivity values were studied for samples with the power of function δ~APβ , where found the value of β decreases from 0.88 for the SnO2 films to 0.32 for the doped films with indium

Several samples were selected from local and imported glass (Iranian, Malaysian and Chinese) available in the Iraqi market. The light intensity was measured with the change in the thickness to find optical characteristics (reflectivity, refractive index, transmittance, and absorbance). It has been found that the soda-lime-glass, which contain a large amount of silica in its composition, having less amount absorption compared with the imported kinds. The refractive index is independent of the thickness of the glass plates .The Iraqi glass has high reflectance compared for example with the chinese glass.

This project, aims to study the effect of trigonella seeds oil extract on body weight , testes weight and some parameter of reproductive system in male mice , and on In vitro fertilization (IVF) , cleavage stages of embryos in females. Fifteen adult (8-9 weeks) males and females mice were divided into three groups , each group containing 5 mice , first and second groups were treated with (2 and 4 mg/kg body weight) of Trigonella oil extract (intraperitonally) while the third group treated with normal saline as control group . After 35 days of treatment with Trigonella the animals (male and female) were sacrificed by dislocation of cervical vertebrate. Isolated sperms from tail of epidydymis were used for the following tests. Sperm motility, dead / live sperm, sperm abnormalities and serum ws collected to assay testosterone. Isolatation of ova from oviduct after micing in 500μl of TCM-199 media serum blood to assay FSH and LH . Sperm and matured ova were incubated in TCM-199 media for insemination. The results showed increase in body weight and testes weight in groups treated with trigonella. significant increase in sperm activity and decrease in percentage of dead sperm and abnormalities in groups treated with trigonella oil. The male testosterone and female FSH, LH increased significantly in groups treated with trigonella. IVF study showed significant increase in percentage of maturation, fertilization and cleavage (2-4 cells).

The Enterobius vermicularis is one of the nematode which is widly spread all over the world, mainly in the cool places unlike other worms where they live in tropical areas. This parasite is available among low- socio – economic status families, orphan homes and mentally care houses, as well as it is spread among children and adolecenses of both sexes ( male and female). This nematode is characterized with bright white color and moves actively through the digestive tract from the stomach to the anus. The aim of the present study is to detect the relationship between the infection of this nematode among students and their Psychological and behavioral status as a result of the negative. Psychology and healthy influences, Which also influences in a negative manner on their performance and study achievements. The practical aspect of this study was conducted by (113) sample (cellophane tape) collected randomly from some families in Basrah s governer from July to December at the year 2005 for both places urban and rural district families included (41) females and (72) males . In order to know the illness and Psychological syptoms for the sample , the researchers has been constructed two Questionaris, one of the illness symptoms included (26) items, the other dealing with Psychological symptomos included (27) items measured, tention and anxiety, habits, pelition, Psychological tired, eating foods and bed disorder. Also the behavioural indicator that refers to infected with this nematoda. The researchers had been applied the two Questionaris on the sample who their ages between early childhood stage to the beginning of the adolecenses stage. The researchers used Fischer formula, and percentage weight formula as a statistically analysis for the data study. The results had shown the relationship and the direct negative influences on the Psychological and behovioural patterens on the children who infected with this nematoda.
According to the different percentage in responses on the items of the two Questionaris for this study . The researchers recommended most important for the healthy aspects, more care for the children and their mother s as well as the early Diagnosis for this cases.

Inthis paper we proposed an algorithm for image de-nosing based on; the two level discrete wavelet transform (DWT), and Wiener filter, also this paper describeestimate noise power. At first The DWT transform noisy image into sub-bands, consist of low-frequency and high-frequencies, and then estimate noise power for each sub-band. The noise power is computed through two important computations; compute square of variance for each sub-band then compute the mean of the variance. After compute the variance apply the wiener filter on each sub-band by using local windownn, finally perform inverse DWT to obtain de-noised image. Our algorithm tested on the two color imagesand also compared with NormalShrink filter and Wiener filter.

Thirty male rats were divided into six groups , The first and second group were divided into six groups , the first and second group were administrated with lead at dose ( 2 , 6 ) mg / kg of body weight respectively . Extract of Nigella sativa was ingested in drinking water at dose ( 200 ) mg drinking water to third group , the fourth group was ingested extract of Nigella sativa at dose 200 mg / kg drinking water and administrated with lead at dose ( 2 ) mg / kg of body weight while fifth group was ingested extract of Nigella sativa at dose ( 200 ) mg / L drinking water and administrated with lead at dose ( 6 ) mg / kg of body weight .The sixth group considered as a control group so it was not given extract of Nigella sativa or lead .Experiment continued for four weeks .Animals were weighted and anesthetized . Blood samples were collected and serum isolated to measure testosterone level . Testis , epididymis , seminal vesicle and prostate were removed total sperm count , sperm motility and sperm abnormality were calculated . Histological sections were prepared for testis to measure the number of spermatogenesis cells and diameters of seminiferous tubules .
Results showed significant decrease in weights ( testis , epididymis , seminal vesicle and prostate ) testosterone level and sperms parameters in first and second as compared with all other groups in the experiment , while there was significant increase in testosterone level in third group as compared with other groups . Results of histological study demonstrated significant decrease in all types of spermatogenic cells and diameter of seminferus tubules in first and second groups as compared with the other groups .While there was significant increase in these histological testes in third group in comparison with other groups . In fourth and fifth groups there were insignificant improvement in these testes as compared with first and second groups .In this study it is concluded that the treatment with extract of Nigella sativa decreased the toxic effects of lead in the reproductive system of male rats .

A study of noise pollution at six location by the month of Jun 2009 in Sulaimani city of Kurdistan region was conducted; Data on the intensity of noise during two different intervals of time 10 (am) and 17 (pm) were collectedusing a digital sound level meter with arrange of (34-130) dB. The source of must noise is transportation system, vehicles, car alarms, emergency services sirens, loudspeakers, construction works and noisy people. Because of the direct links between noiseand health, the establishment of an agency under the name of Kurdistan Environmental Protection Agency (KEPA) is important for controlling this issue

In this study a gas mixtures [CO+N2] are mixed with a specified ratio of 9:1 (N2:CO).The reason for this mixing is that the molecular weight are very close to each other.The main parameters in question to be studied are the diffusion coefficient of the discharge and the related constants to it. The main calculations held that were concerned the plasma discharge operation of optimum thermodynamic constants [Total pressure of 3mb and the discharge temperature of 450Ko]. The results were consistent and very optimum compared with their experimental values, and the optimum circumstance was prepared to use them as an active medium
for a high power molecular gas laser.

Serratia marcescens is a bacteria which is sensitive to some antibiotics(trimethoprime, Ciprofloxacin, Cefotaxime, Cephoxitin, Neomycin, Gentamycin, Nalidixic acid, Amikacin) and the Ciprofloxacin has higher capability to inhibit its growth, but it is resistante to(Augmentin, Erythromycin, Cephalothin, Clarithomycin, Tetracycline, Vancomycin, Ampicillin) ,and it produces B-lactamases . The prodigiosin is a pigment that is produced from S. marcescens and may be defense agent against antibiotics so it increases its production with 85.71%, from antibiotics that affect bacteria growth, while it is not produced with (Tetracycline، Cephoxitin، Clarithomycin ) , while, Ampicillin، Vancomycin، Cephalothin، Erythromycin don’t affect bacteria growth and pigment production . The components media such as NaCl affect S. marcescens growth and pigment production, the growth decrease gradually at2% concentration and stop growth at 10% concentration to both period (24-48) hr.,while the pigment shows high product at 2% concentration and then decreases gradually to stop at 10% concen.to both period (24-48) hr.

A simple, rapid and sensitive spectrophotometirc method for the determination of trace amounts of promethazine hydrochloride in the aqueous solution is described. The method is based on the complexation of promethazine hydrochloride with In (III) in the presence of sodium hydroxide to form an soluble product with maximum absorption at 304nm. Beer’s law is obeyed over the concentration range of (2-20μg/ml) with molar absorptivity of (1.92× 103 L.mol-1.cm-1). The optimum conditions for all development are described and the proposed method has been successfully applied for the determination of promethazine hydrochloride in bulk drug.

This study aimed at the isolation, purification and characterization of fig latex ficin. Samples were collected from fruit joint with the fig tree. Supernatant was decanted from fig latex after centrifugation at 3000 rpm which represents crude enzyme extract. Latex content was concentrated by sucrose powder. Purification steps were carried out with ion-exchange and gel filtration using DEAE-cellulose and sephadex G-50 columns respectively. Enzyme yield and purification folds were 51.688% and 15.635 respectively with specific activity 148.336 U/mg. By using gel filtration, molecular weight of the purified enzyme was estimated to be 22.725 Da. The pH at which ficin showing activity ranged between 6-8.5. Ficin showed a good stability in pH ranging between 6-8. Optimum temperature for activity and stability were 50 C○and 25-40 C○respectively. Activation energy for substrate conversion of this enzyme was calculated to be 10.22 Kca/mol

This research deals with electrical characteristics of the PbTe thin films that were prepared by thermal evaporation technique. It was noted that the electrical characteristics of these films improved with the increase in annealing temperature. It was also noted that the electrical conductivity and carrier's mobility increased with temperature to a limited extent. This proves the improvement of the electrical transport of this compound. It was also found that the concentration of carriers decreased when treated thermally with a high degrees and mobility decreased while the concentration of carriers increased after that.

300 samples (Environmental swabs) were collected from different sites of the toilets in the girls doormatory in Al -Qadisiya University fortheperiod: April (2008) –Desember (2008).In this study , 560 isolates of various aerobic microorganismswere collected ,the total bacterialisolates were (459), (%82) whilethe total Molds and Yeasts isolates were (150) , (%33).The bacterial isolates included: 309 isolates (%67) were gram negative bacteria while 150 isolates (%33) were gram positive bacteria. Enterobacteriaceae was the most common gram negative bacteria (%79) and the Enterococci was the most common gram positive bacteria (%67). There was a clear difference in the percentage of microbial contamination among the sites. The floor and airsamples showed the highest growth percentage (%100) with highest count of isolates (162) and (129), while the kitchen sink samples have the lowest growth percentage (%82) with lowest count of isolates (75).On the other hand, certain tests were performed on Dettol and Sodium Hypochlorites solutions(with the concentrations 10 , 25 &50) mg/ml Sodium Hypochlorites had the highest prohibition effect on all the microorganisms. Pseudomonas aeruginosawas the most sensitive kind to it , While Staphylococcus aureuswas the least sensitive.

Laboratory study was preformed to demonstrate the effectiveness of seven commercial insecticides from different manufactures and widespread in local markets on larvae and pupae of Culex sp. Four larval instars and pupae of the mosquito’s Culex sp. were chosen and collected from several ponds in Aljubaila and Garmat- Ali regions for applying this experiment. The larvae were exposed to three concentrations for each insecticide 250 , 500 , 1000 ppm ,the LT50 was calculated for each concentration of each insecticide , results showed that ElAskari insecticide is outdo another insecticides in killing by LT50 (7.49 , 12.88 , 19.63 ) for three concentrations respectively , and the insecticide with lower effectiveness was Flit Sole by LT50 ( 14.15 , 25.31 , 35.53 ) for three concentrations respectively. This study showed that insecticides which contain pyrethoids compound Tetramethrin in their structure are the most and preferred in houses because they have very low toxicity for mammals but they are highly toxic to insects and have a rapid knock- down effect even at very low doses

This study has carried out in laboratory to reveal the efficacy of methyl alcohol extract of Albizzia lebbeck (L.) Benth seeds and Melia azedarach L. fruits , in addition to their mixtures ( 1:1) , which is compared with the insecticide Actellic 50% EC., on Eggs and adult emergence of cowpea weevil , Callosobruchus maculatus (Fab.) under laboratory conditions of 30+ 2 C. and 60+5% relative humidity. Results have shown that there is significant differences in percentages of egg hatching of 1 , 2 and 3 days old which is treated with concentrations of 2,4,6,8,10% of methyl alcohol extract of Albizzia lebbeck seeds and Melia azedarach fruits ; the concentrations of 1,2 and 3% of the mixture of both and the concentrations of 0.05 , 0.075 % of the insecticide. There is a converse relationship between egg hatching and concentrations . Eggs of 1 day old are more resistant than other ages , since the highest egg hatching , 87.5% and 72.2% for Albizzia lebbeck seeds and Melia azedarach fruits respectively occur with 2% concentration compared with control which is 98.00 and 96.00% for both of them respectively. While Adult emergence has reached 80.36 and 75.6 % compared with control which is 94.00 and 100.00% for both of them respectively for the same age and concentration. The lowest hatching and emergence percentages are 52.5 and 69.79% of Albizzia lebbeck seeds extract at 6% concentration and 17.5 , 72.22 % of Melia azedarach fruits extracts at 8% concentration . No egg hatching occurs at 8% concentration of Albizzia lebbeck and 10% of Melia azedarach extracts for all ages .The highest egg hatching of 1day eggs old and adult emergence is 45.49 and 87.50 % at 1% concentration for mixed extraction compared with control which is 100.0 and 96.67 % . The lowest egg hatching is 5.00 % at 3% concentration and the lowest adult emergence 25.0% at 2% concentration compared with control which is 100.0 and 93.33% for eggs of 3 days old ; and there is no adult emerged at 3% for all ages . The highest egg hatching of 55% occurs at 0.05 concentration of actellic for 1 day old compared with control treatment which is 100.0% , and there is no hatching for the other ages and concentrations.

The gravels, conglomerates and the associated sediments in the studeid area, most probaly were deposited in an alluvial –fan environment . Sedimentologically, the sediments consist of three facies association: gravel and conglomerate(facies Q1),sand and sandstone (facies Q2)and gypcrete, gypseous mud and gypseous mudstone (facies Q3).These Facies most likely represent a mid-fan deposits and their material had been transported to the fan by stream flow condition . The petrography of gravels, sands and sandstones (The coarse sediments) reveal that the sedimentary rock fragments are the main constituents. The study indicates local origin of these sediments and had been derived from the older formations exposed in the north and northeast of the studied area .
The clay minerals of the fine grained sediments include: montmorillonite, chlorite, kaolonite and palygorskite. The palygorskite is considered as authogenic in origin whereas the other minerals are detrital.

Stewart diagrams were used for the differenetiation of sedimentation environments .These digrams showed that , sdiments were of one main sedimentation environments ( ie river environments ) . In , addition the sediments grouped in two subenvironment clusters within the main sedimentation environment provence .These subenveronments were of fine separates sedimentation (river sediment) and medium to coarse separates sedimentation (irrigation sediments) . Both sediments are recent and local physiographic units .Sediments of soil materials were characterized and correlated to their sedimentation environments by the use of triangular diagrams and illustrated in terms of the relative percentages of light minerals ( chert , feldspars , biotiet ) fractions and heavey minerals (pyroxenes, garnet , chlorite) in order to assure their sedimentation environments . Accordingly , it can be suggested that , the use of light minerals gave better distinction and differentiation between sediments of river and irrigation basins . Also ,the soil use of separetes were the best in the differentiation between the subenvironments of sedimentation of river and irrigation sediments .

E-Learning implementation is an area in progress that continues to evolve with time and further research. Researchers in this field argue that e-Learning is still in its infancy, resulting into numerous implementation technologies across a wide e-Learning spectrum. These technologies include TV, CD ROMs, LMS, CMS, LCMS and virtual world as well as collaborative technologies. This paper provides a general overview of the learning process, evaluates some current implementation trends pointing out a range of frameworks and strategies used in the past decade. It further looks at the changes created by the adoption of e-Learning within the higher education process. This is followed by an identification of emerging issues from which two problems are identified:
1) The limited uptake of technology as an instruction delivery method: and
2) The ineffective use of technology to support learning.
The aim of the paper is primarily a review to inform researches about current work in these different areas.

In this article a simple type solar heat storage Trombe wall was built and tested at Baghdad winter. This wall had an area of 0.8281 m2 and facing south, it is consisted of a wooden box covered with clear glass of 3mm thickness, and 18 plastic refill bottles (2.25 liter capacity each) arranged in this box. Many holes are made at the bottom and upper faces of the box to facilities the air circulation across the plastic bottles, which are filled with water to increase the heat capacity. A small air fan was used to increase air circulation through the box. The wall was tested at Baghdad under Iraqi condition at December 2006, January, and February 2007. The results show the ability of this wall to assist the heating systems in houses at night up to 5:30 A.M. of the next day in winter seasons.

Three (( 1 , 2 , 3 ) gram concentrationsfrom leaves and seeds extract of Artimiseabsinthiumplant /liter of distilled water were used so as to determine their effect on the growth Fusariumoxysporumgrowth . The results showed a significant correlation at the 0.01 and 0.05 level between ( 1 , 2 , 3 ) gram leaves and seeds extracts / liter of distilled water and hyphae growth . The concentration ( 3 ) gram leave extract / liter distilledwater is more effect on fungus growth .The active material( Sinigrin) was isolated from the leaves and seeds of plant

The Physico-chemical properties and epipelic algae in Al-Daghara river were studied during the period from November 2007 to April 2008 .Three stations were selected , the water quality of the river was alkaline,very hard, oligohaline and well oxygenated . Carbon dioxide concentration were variable according to different sites. Among the of 117 species algal taxa were identified , the dominance was to Bacillariophyceae 74% followed by Chlorophyceae 14% then Cyanophyceae 12% . The highest algal total number of epipelic algae was in station (1) in March 2008 about 8.333×104cell/cm2.The lower algal number was in the same stationat in December 2.291×104cell/cm2.The most dominant species were Cocconies placentula , Fragilaria crotonensis , Nitzschia vermicularis . N. sigmoedia

The present study was conducted to assess the effects of haloperidol (psychiatric drug ) on some oxidative stress parameters (GSH and lipid peroxidation product MDA) and it's relation to the dopamine level in rats' brain.
Twenty-four male Sprague- Dawely rats were enrolled in this study. They were randomly separated into three groups, eight rats in each group: Group 1, (normal control group), eight rats were put on normal chow diet for 45 days from which the baseline value of selected parameters were measured. Group 2 (self control group) on distilled water orally administered by stomach tube for 45 days. Group 3 on Haloperidol 1 mg/kg orally administered by stomach tube for 45 days.
After decapitation, brain were removed from rats and homogenized from which GSH, MDA, and dopamine levels were measured. This study revealed the following results.
1- Administration of haloperidol was highly significant (P value < 0.01) decreased the GSH and dopamine level in rats' brain.
2- Administration of haloperidol was highly significant (P value < 0.01) increased the MDA levels in rats' brain.
It was concluded that haloperidol is a potent inducer of oxidative stress and highly decreased the levels of dopamine in rats' brain.

This study was conducted to show the effect of the heat stress that will represented by 35 C° and for two periods : 8 hours in group (C) and 16 hours in group (D) with giving both Newcastle and Gumboro vaccines , and in addition to a control group (A) that will be represented by normal fowl breeding temperature according to its life stages without giving any vaccines and group (B) that will be giving all above vaccines breeding in normal temperature with comparing between all these groups with each others in order to know the effect of the heat stress on some hematological parameters in treated broiler chicks ,these parameters have been measured weekly by taking 15 birds from each group randomly to making these tests and depending their resulting in statistical test. The results of red blood cells count , blood haemoglobin concentration and packed cells volume were indicated lesser averages in the group (D) in comparing with other groups that beginning from the fourth week to the end of experiment duration , and the results of the groups (C) was mentioned a significant decrease in all parameters that have been referred to above in comparison with (A) and (B) groups as of the fourth week to the end of treatment period , and at the time when measuring of the H/L ratio ( the stress indicator ) averages in all experiment groups during the treatment weeks , the group (D) are counted their highest average at all treatment weeks in addition to the significant increasing in (B) , (C) and (D) groups in comparing with group (A) from the second weeks and to end of the last week from probation .

Hemangiomas are benign congenital tumors of mature blood vessels and usually consist of dense masses of capillaries or larger blood vessels. Hemangiomas of the gastrointestinal tract are uncommon and account for only 0.05% of all intestinal neoplasms; gastric hemangiomas constitute less than 2% of benign gastric neoplasms. Gascoyen first described gastric hemangioma in 1860, and only 45 cases have been reported.1–5 Hemangioma of the stomach presenting with spontaneous rupture is rare. We describe a 41-year-old male who had rupture of abdominal hemangioma and subsequent hemoperitoneum. presented to the emergency unit of our hospital Al-Karama general hospital Al-Kut city with acute abdominal pain and distention where he was examined resuscitated, investigated , and explored for profuse hemoperitoneum and an exogastric ruptured mass were resected and submitted for histopathological examination. Which confirmed the diagnosis of hemangioma.

A case of trigeminal neuralgia in a 28 year old female, complaining from severe lancinating intermittent pain, not relived by tegretol,caused by CPA arachnoids cyst which causes pressure on trigeminal ganglia in the pons, In this paper we discuss the trigeminal neuralgia and its treatment in general and specially this case

This study aimed at determining the poultry breeder's knowledge level of diagnosis and therapy techniques of Newcastle disease in Thiqar Governorate and their correlation with some parameters. In this work we depended on personal interview for data collection related to the research. The society under research in clouded all poultry breeders in Thiqar governorate which constitute (300) breeders. Samples were picked randomly in ration (10%) with sample volume (30 breeders). Each percentage, mean, standard deviation and correlation coefficient (Pearson) were used in this study. Data were analyzed using statistical program SPSS. Results showed a relatively lowered knowledge levels and the positive correlation between poultry breeder knowledge level and the following parameters (age, education level, number of farms, experience in poultry field, and training courses. Based in those findings, this study recommends enhancement of the veterinary guidance, establishing seminars and training courses, as well as strengthening the relations low –priced of the relation of between veterinary centers and poultry breeders, also providing them with medication and vaccines at the right time ,This will be very important for the eradication of diseases and elimination of economical looses.

During the period from August 2008 to February 2009 seventy four female patients were admitted to Al –Zahra teaching hospital- Kut- Wassit and scanned by pelvic and abdominal ultra sonography for various complaints to assess the cause of the pelvic pathology and to determine the ovarian status . All these patients were subjected to surgery and after that their histopathological findings were studied and analyzed for sonographic accuracy. The diagnostic accuracy of ultra sound in this study was 81.1% in the characterization and proper description of the ovarian lesions. Thus it seems to be ultra sound is a good tool as being the primary imaging modality in a patient with suspected pelvic mass by identifying the origin and the nature of the pelvic mass.

Diesel generators which are used in the living quarters when electricity is cut off, is a significant source ofemissions of polluted air.This paper presents an estimating study for emissions fromelectricdiesel generators in the center of Kut city. This studyincludes statistics for the types of electricdiesel generators, their power,fuel consumptionand sites of these generators.Emissions are calculated by using modern methods which are used by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and European Environmental Protection Agency, and also different sources of research. Two main methods are adopted in calculating the emissions; the first one considers the fuel consumption while the second considers the average rated power of these generators, load factor and operating hours. Calculations consider two seasons: winter and summer, also operating hours in the day and night are considered during summer.The estimating results show the emissions are nearly 25-68 ton from carbon monoxide CO, 189-515 ton from nitrogen oxides NOx, 10428-28335 ton from carbon dioxide CO2,8-21 ton from volatile organic compounds VOC,66-180 ton from sulfur oxides SOxand 23-64 ton from particulate matter PM.

The aim of the present study was to establish the normal range for the radiographic distance between cemento-enamel junction and the marginal bone level in the primary dentition using bitewing digital images. The samples examined in this study were 120 Iraqi children 7 and 8 years old (60 male and 60 female). The parameters were measured using the DIXI2 configuration software, which is automatically installed from Dimaxis software. Results showed that the mean of marginal bone height of the normal primary molars was (1.37 ± 0.48 mm). In addition, individual surfaces displayed distance ranging from (0.5-2.5). It was concluded that the normal marginal bone level in posterior primary dentition was (0.0-2.0) and bone loss occured when the distance between cemento-enamel junction and the marginal bone level more than 2 mm.

The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of misoprostol that is administrated in the buccal pouch with the intravaginal route. Study design: Ninety eight pregnant women with a singleton live gestation. Bishop score of < 5, gestational ages of > 37 wks were randomized receives misoprostol that would be placed either in the buccal pouch or vagina. In the oral group were initially given 100 μg of misoprostol orally this was repeated every 3-4 hours until occurrence of active and progressive labor while in vaginal group we insert 25 μg in the vagina using a water as a lubricant and the labor and fetal outcome was compared in both groups. Results: The hours from drug administration to vaginal delivery were significantly not different between the buccal and vaginal group (1120 ± 128) versus (1412 ± 140) respectively, 28 patient in buccal group versus 35 delivered vaginally in vaginal group. The neonatal outcomes between the two groups were similar and there were no statistical difference between the two groups. (P = not significant). So, buccal misoprostol is effective for cervical ripening as dose the vaginal administration.

The study was designed to investigate the effects of hyperglycemia on some hematological and serum lipid parameters in rabbits during a period of seventy days. This study was achieved in the university of Al-Qadisyiah / college of veterinary medicine college department of pathology from 31/10/2008 till 10/02/2009. The parameters evaluated include serum lipids, red and white blood cell indices. The resultsshow that the hyperglycemia significantly reduced (P<0.05) packed cell volume and red blood cell count when compared with controlgroups. Also, the hyperglycemia significantly reduced (P<0.05) white blood cell count when compared with control.Moreover, the hyperglycemia significantly elevated (P<0.05) total cholesterol concentration in the serum while it had less significant effect (P<0.05) on serum HDL-cholesterol concentration when compared with controls. Whereas, hyperglycemia significantly increased (P<0.05) serum triglycerol concentration. The results of this study suggest that hyperglycemia may have extrusive effect on serum cholesterol concentration, although it possibly possesses the potential of adversely affecting some hematological indices

The complexity of processes in industry, which involved the formation of granular beds, has limited information about permeability (k), which is directly related with packing porosity ε and tortuosity T. For an understanding of the relationship between k, ε and T in mixed beds of particles that are different in size, simplified porous media model of binary mixture of spheres have been. A continuous function relating the porosity of a mixture (ε) with the volume fraction (xD) of binary mixture has been established. The incorporation of the proposed porosity model into the conventional Kozeny-Carmen equation gives a good agreement between the measured and predicted permeability vs.xD. Based on this relation and on the dependence of ε vs.xD, a model predicted tortuosity and permeability was obtained, having demonstrated that the tortuosity may significantly alter the permeability of a mixed bed. This search is useful for transport phenomena analysis in granular beds as well as in engineering applications, such as deep bed filtration used for drinking water purification.
