Abstract
Exaggeration is a rhetorical device that involves expanding upon a meaning until it reaches its utmost intensity. The research focuses on applying this concept to Imru'l-Qais's poem "Khalilya passing by," which is considered a prime example of the poet's mastery of imagery and semantic richness. The study examines the various manifestations of exaggeration in the text, including semantic exaggeration, which emphasizes the idea or image, and lexical exaggeration, which entails purposeful embellishment and artistic refinement that enhance the verse's impact and evocative power. The research also explores the most prominent techniques the poet employs to achieve this effect, such as repetition, illustration, extended metaphor, and the creation of complex images that transcend simple comparison, evoking a multitude of meanings. Furthermore, the study aims to highlight the aesthetic and intellectual functions of exaggeration in the poem, demonstrating how it deepens the poetic experience, intensifies emotional impact, and imbues the text with a captivating yet controlled degree of hyperbole, thereby enhancing its effect on the reader. The research concludes that exaggeration in this poem was not merely a stylistic device, but a fundamental expressive tool that enabled the poet to blend the beauty of imagery with the power of emotion, thus placing the text within the context of the rhetorical innovation that characterized classical Arabic poetry.

Abstract
يُعدُّ الإيغال ظاهرة بلاغية تقومُ على التوسع في المعنى حتّى يبلغ غايته القصوى، وقد جعلنا مضمار بحثنا تطبيقًا في قصيدة (خَليلَيَّ مُرَّا) لامرئ القيس، والتي تُعدُّ من الأمثلة الشعرية الكاشفة عن براعة الشاعر في بناء الصورة وإحكام الدلالة، يركّز البحث على تتبع مظاهر الإيغال في النص، سواء أكان إيغالًا معنويًّا يقومُ على المبالغة في الفكرة أو الصورة، أم إيغالًا لفظيًّا يتمثلُ في الحشو المقصود والتتميم الفني الذي يمنحُ البيتَ قوةً وإيحاءً، ويقفُ البحثُ عند أبرز الأساليب التي اعتمدها الشاعر لتحقيق هذا الغرض، مثل: التكرار، والتمثيل، وتوسيع الاستعارة، وبناء الصور المركبة التي تتجاوز حدود التشبيه المباشر إلى إيحاءات متشعبة. كما يسعى البحثُ إلى إبراز الوظيفة الجمالية والفكرية للإيغال في القصيدة، مبينًا كيف أسهم في تعميق التجربة الشعرية، وتكثيف الانفعال العاطفي، وإضفاء طابع المبالغة المحببة التي تزيد النص تأثيرًا في المتلقي، وقد توصّل إلى أن الإيغال في هذه القصيدة لم يكن مجرد حيلة لفظية، بل أداة تعبيرية أساسية مكّنَتْ الشاعر من الجمع بين جمالية الصورة وقوة العاطفة، مما يضع النص في سياق الإبداع البلاغي الذي ميّز الشعر العربي القديم
