Abstract
The present study attempts to find out whether or not the CVX syllable-structure theory is applicable to Iraqi Arabic syllables, with special reference to the syllabic structure of the initial consonant clusters which are composed of two consecutive sonorant consonants and the identification of complex sounds. Among the main findings of this work is that the targeted syllable theory is applicable to Iraqi Arabic initial consonant clusters, and it is possible to identify eighteen complex sounds initially.

Abstract
تحاول الدراسة الحالية الكشف عن مدى انطباق نظرية سان دوانمو (2008) المقطعية على متوالية الصوامت الرنانة الأستهلالية في كلمات من اللهجة العراقية، وعلى وجه الخصوص تلك المتواليات المتكونة من صوتين مجهورين وتحديد الأصوات المعقدة في تلك المتواليات. ومن بين أهم النتائج التي خرجت بها الدراسة الحالية هي أنطباق نظرية دوانمو على نسيج متواليات الصوامت الرنانة و المحهورة هذه وأمكانية تحديد ثمانية عشر صوتا معقدا أستهلاليا.
