Mustansiriyah Journal of Humanities

The journal is a quarterly, peer-reviewed scientific publication dedicated to publishing theoretical and applied research that advances knowledge. It is issued by the College of Education – Al-Mustansiriyah University and registered with the House of Books and Documents in Baghdad under Deposit No. 2603 (2022).

The journal holds the following standard identifiers:

• Electronic ISSN: 2958-0722

It is accredited on the Iraqi Academic Journals website by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The journal was established in 1980 under the name “Journal of the College of Education.” In 2022, it was divided into two separate journals:

1. Journal for Scientific Departments – covering Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Sciences.

2. Journal for Human Scientific Departments – covering History, Geography, Arabic Language, Quranic Sciences, Psychological Counseling, Educational Sciences, and English Language.

This division was implemented following the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Department of Research and Development (Book No. BT 4 2040, 3/4/2022) and the Presidency of Al-Mustansiriyah University, Department of Scientific Affairs (Book No. 9429, 24/4/2022).

Vision

To advance the journal among scientific publications at the national and international levels, aligning with the university’s ambition to achieve top-tier recognition in local, regional, and global academic publishing, and to engage with global research capacities.

Mission

To elevate Al-Mustansiriyah University, particularly the College of Education, through distinctive scientific publishing that serves researchers, readers, and society. The journal aims to disseminate knowledge, contribute to the humanities and social sciences, and enhance the country’s academic ranking.

Objectives

• To select and publish high-quality research in accordance with international scientific standards.

• To ensure continuous development by publishing the work of researchers and faculty from Iraq and abroad, fostering collaboration and mutual knowledge.

• To promote scientific exchange by sharing copies of the journal with university libraries worldwide.

• To expand the journal’s reach by accepting research not only from Iraq but also from the Arab world and internationally.

• To ensure that all research adheres to international publishing standards, maintaining objectivity and credibility.

Submission and Formatting Guidelines

Template Requirements:

• Abstract: Provided in Arabic and English, maximum 200 words, font size 11.

• Keywords: Arabic and English, 3–5 keywords, font size 11.

• Fonts:

  • Arabic research: Simplified Arabic, font size 11

  • English research: Times New Roman, font size 11

• Headings: font size 14, bold

• Subheadings: font size 12

• Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides (left, right, top, bottom)

• References: APA style, font size 11, listed alphabetically in Arabic and English at the end of the research

• Figures, Maps, and Tables:

  • Include within the text in their respective positions; appendices at the end

  • Present maps and graphs in color and with clarity

• Numbers: Written in Arabic throughout the research
